→ a nekomata possessed him while he was still in the womb. its memories are gone, but its powers remained. consequently, sakura was born as a human with nekomata features (including his black & white hair, superhuman strength, and a tendency to severely misbehave).

→ he can switch completely between forms. he cannot shift into the form of another human or radically change his human appearance, however.

→ he tends to prefer existing in his human form. (If he spends too long in his nekomata form, he becomes afraid that he'll forget how to be a human and permanently stay a monster.)

→ when he gets embarrassed or very emotional, his ears and two tails come out.

→ suo teases him a lot for this and will try to provoke it as much as possible lmao. he likes to offer sakura towels and ask him to dance whenever his tails are out. (the first time this happened, sakura tried to maul him lol)

→ growing up, sakura was referred to as a "demon child" and ostracized his whole life. after a demon attack on their village, sakura was blamed and his parents were killed for having given birth to him. he escaped to the mountains (where nekomata tend to hide) and lived mostly as a cat for some time before re-entering human society due to nirei.

→ this is why he's so poorly socialized and literally has feral cat energy btw lol

→ misses and longs for human connection, but is also afraid of it!

→ hates vegetables because he is a cat, likes meat because he is a cat, and likes eggs because his mom used to cook them a lot.

nirei akihiro | human onmyouji

→ an onmyouji related by blood to the abe clan. originally a young and talented officer working at the bureau of onmyou, he became frustrated (frightened) with its politics and left for the private sector. he loses the court official hat, but he keeps the clothes because I think they're pretty 👍

→ his talents mainly lie in astronomy, divination, and calendar-making. very analytical stuff!

→ due to his family having been affected by disease spirits when he was younger, he has a strong wish to become skilled in exorcisms and always attempts to engage with evil spirits and demons to build experience.

→ chronicles his encounters with the supernatural, at first for his own learning, but now because he wants to put together a publication to help others interested in recognising supernatural phenomena and understanding common exorcism practices.

→ at some point, nirei was privately contracted to perform a purification ritual at a small mountain village. he heard stories about a boar demon that had been causing problems, so he went to go search for it, and it nearly killed him. sakura (living in his nekomata form) happened to be nearby at this time and saved him. he expected nirei to try to attack him or run at this point, but nirei instead tried to communicate with sakura, despite his monstrous appearance.

→ upon realising that sakura could actually adopt a human form, nirei convinced him to go back to the mountain village with him by offering to treat him to oyakodon.

→ the villagers were somewhat frightened by his appearance, but warmed up when nirei explained that sakura had killed the boar.

pictured above are japanese works depicting kitsune, which suo would be considered, but some of the below is influenced by lore regarding the related chinese myth of the huli jing

suo hayato | nine-tailed fox spirit

→ a nine-tailed fox spirit who was originally quite powerful; however, his hoshi no tama was stolen in a fight with a demon, which left him weak and nearly dead.

→ after these events, took refuge in a village with an inari shrine and acted as their guardian deity for some time as an act of gratitude.

→ having lost his hoshi no tama, suo's powers are now limited but still substantial. notably, he can still shapeshift freely between a number of forms—his original form of the common fox, different human appearances, etc.—but he cannot adopt his true form of a giant nine-tailed fox.

→ in his typical disguise, he is indistinguishable from regular humans. however, if you manage to catch his shadow in the light of a full moon, it reveals his true ears and nine tails. (based on this art!)

→ his disguises are otherwise so skilled that even other youkai and animals have difficulty recognising him. however, all dogs can sense fox spirits and are consequently terrified of suo. suo, himself, prefers not to interact with dogs.

→ while sakura did not immediately recognize suo as a youkai, he correctly identified him as a shitty person at his core (lol) and was later unsurprised to learn that suo was a kitsune. ("oh, the worst kind of demon.")

→ on the other hand, suo immediately recognized that sakura was a nekomata lol

→ being a fox spirit, suo is quite skilled in jujutsu and eventually trains nirei in exorcisms and/or demon extermination techniques.

→ sakura has a preference to travel and hunt demons at night, partly because there are fewer people around to make a spectacle of him, and partly because it's just his inclination as a cat. since nirei is a human and cannot see well in the dark (unlike his two youkai companions), suo lights up mountain pathways with kitsunebi to allow nirei to see.

→ in addition to enjoying tea and sweets, suo likes aburaage (since he is a fox spirit). if you offer aburaage to the kami at a shrine, there's a 9/10 chance that suo will come by and eat it before any of inari's actual messengers can visit.

HELLO! Thank u sm for the ask… I am still in the vocaloid fandom I just primarily post in private and not on tumblr ;___; and I’m sorry for getting to u literally a week late the rhing is I had like written up a very comprehensive post on Al’s backstory but I was like. Oh this is too long. And boring for anyone else SO I SCRAPPED IT!

I put Al Gaku and Megu (Gumi) into a lot of AUs bc it’s super fun! but my main original one is where Al is a resurrected Frankenstein creature and Gaku is an Android

Basically Al used to be married to Ann in the early 1900s and Ann was a lounge singer that caught the attention of some bad ppl and their house ended up burning down via arson, their daughter got out alive but Al and Ann both succumbed to burn wounds. Their daughter grew up investing her time in human experimentation and recreated the bodies of her parents with other people’s parts to the heat of her memory and used the brains from their previous bodies to put into the new minimally damaged ones. Ann was resurrected successfully with an original Frankenstein’s monster type deal but people caught win of the daughter’s experiments given her track record and her house was stormed, Ann had to try and resurrect Al herself hurriedly while her daughter stalled and she was successful but their daughter was killed at the doorstep and the couple fled.

Al because of the quickened process ended up with amnesia, not remembering his marriage to Ann or their daughter while Ann remembered it all and was still in love with him. Al was not the same as the man she married now, Alexander was dead and he was a new person all together but Ann couldn’t face this for awhile and told Al about their life together but this only inspired guilty in both of them. In modern times they’re separated but on good terms, Al’s story is about….. like….. finding himself? Discovering life is worth living and ultimately all of my stories about Gaku Al and Megu are about family.

GAKUPO…. ok exposition in my universe vocaloid is a sort of tournament held in Japan for singers across universes and Gakupo is an Android from a technologically advanced universe. He was created to be in a museum as a recreation of Feudal Japan and he was implanted with memories of a wife and children and life he never even had, he was made to believe he was a reincarnated samurai as a social experiment not realizing all his precious memories and experiences were fabricated. Upon discovering this he killed all the people in the museum and fled becoming a feared sort of urban legend thing… his story is about also about finding himself! He believes at first he’s unable to care for living beings due to his memories being fake but eventually he realizes he’s in love with Al and desires to create new meaningful experiences with him, Al shares the same sentiment. It’s really abt family and love and stuff… yknow finding the person you want to spend ur life with…. People from unfortunate circumstances being able to live normally :)

Megu is a difficult circumstance and I haven’t found a way to exactly incorporate her into the main universe but I have a verse where all vocaloids are androids and Megu is a Gumi unit that came out a little wrong and unlike other androids doesn’t mature mentally and is perpetually stuck at the 15 year old mark, Al takes her in because she has nowhere to go and he’s admittedly lonely after being separated from his Ann unit and they play house… become a family :’)) androids in this universe obv don’t have moms or dads and they don’t come in family units but Megu regards Al as her father and Al regards Megu as his daughter! Gaku is introduced later and like it’s a sort of goofy trying to get along with my boyfriend’s daughter type deal…. 🫶🫶 Megu does performances and is really popular as a show unit but she needs Al to be backstage with her for every show bc she gets nervous, he holds her hand right before performances as a sort of “you’re alright, I’ll be here, I got you”

So yeah!!! That’s stuff!!! I have a lot more emmm but that’s too long like I said, ik you didn’t ask abt Megu bits it’s like oh… family… cannot separate

[short drabble, au fic]

The click of ceramic on wood bought his attention, but not his eyes. Error continued to delicately embroider the swaying smoke onto his newest project. His back hunched over the fragile, silk fabric, like a spider weaving a sack for its children, and his head heavily hung from his neck. Cradled between his thin fingers was a tapestry of fire and moons, a story told through no words at all. Children and women ran from a burning village, while a monster of nine black tendrils tore through windows and shops, ravaging the land and gorging itself on souls of the dead.

"Still at work, I see."

Pale fingers flicked his forehead, making his brow twitch. His hands stilled in their ferocious pattern. Error could not risk ruining a single stitch, lest it drive him mad with rage.

"I am always working." Error curtly replied. "There are too many things to do." 

A cool breath sighed over his head. "If I were not death himself, I would tell you the reaper'd come knocking at our doorstep for your hand in marriage."

Error snorted loudly and continued to etch the slightest, subtle touches of a pattern onto the kimono of a yellow eyed youth, who ran toward the monster rather than away. In his hand, he bore the weight of a great sword, a great sword which wore a golden ribbon.

Fabric rustled and brushed against itself, bunching into graceful folds as a tall, pale man knelt beside him. His eye sockets were depthless and dark, barren of light like the ink on a line of calligraphy. As such, the tips of his fingers were stained black and gray to match, clawed like the point of a brush. The man had a graceful and beautiful face, but covered every inch of his body up to his neck. Around his eye sockets were lines of deep blue, like the streaks which ran down Error's cheeks.

"Who is this noble little man?" Amused, came a question from the painting of death. Error grunted an answer, and he pretended to understand what the fuck he just said.

"Right. What is his name?"

Error sighed, as if heavily burdened by his incessant line of interrogation. Still, he didn't look at him, and that irritated the pale man. "I said that his name is Nightmare."

A low hum of interest. "Seems a little backwards." Error tsk'd at him, clicking his tongue in disappointment. 

"I don't need to apply to whatever writing rules that they have up in the capitol." Error carefully threaded his needle through silk, trails of purple blood slowly dripping behind the glint of metal.

"Those stuffy old men have no clue what they're doing. They've lived behind bars their entire lives, believing that they are free and creative. They study the work of great men without truly understanding what they are looking for, gleaning no knowledge but the truth of the story - and stagnate." 

His last word is punctuated sharply, and he finishes a region of the tapestry. Deftly, his hands cradle another cool fold, and he works on the finer details of the villagers - their slightly grasping fingers, and the sandals they wear.

"Nightmare," Error gestures with his head at the yellow-eyed one. "is a name befitting of a villain, no? So it would seem to suggest he is fearsome and worshipped. However, how much more interesting could the story be - if these roles were so different from the fates which write them?"

The painting leaned down slightly in interest, peering at the little yellow-eyed man as he unsheathed his sword and swung at the nine necks of a snake. He rubbed his chin, thoughtful.. "Certainly, young master." 

Error made a noise of satisfaction, smiling upon the subtle threads which made the pattern of a young boy's clothing. That smile quickly wiped itself as he shooed the other man away from his work with a pissy expression.

"Keep your wretched eyes away from my work until I am finished, demon!" Peals of laughter bounce off the walls of their humble little home. Eventually, Error finds himself joining, and he is poked and prodded into putting his work away - to which the two have dinner, drink, and sleep.

Not a meme but I’ve decided to try and devote more time to things I’m passionate about. One of the things I’ve been longing to pick back up but just haven’t is fic writing or writing in general. I started a new SessKag fic which is exciting because I’ve never done a multi-chapter fic that wasn’t a reader insert! If anyone has suggestions, I’d be more than happy to hear them since I am getting back into writing after a four year break

Title: The Other Side of the Bone Eater’s Well

Summary: Kagome was once weighed down by an important decision. Should she stay with her family in the feudal era or return to the one waiting for her on the other side of the well? It had taken her days to decide what to do, her heart tugging towards both sides painfully. It wasn't until after she had slung her legs over the edge and leapt into the well that she realized that the time spent mulling over right decision was pointless.

The choice was never hers to make.

A section of Chapter 1: Dirt caked under fingernails that grew increasingly more fragile with every inch that Kagome scaled. Determination laced her face as long, skilled fingers instinctually scrambled to find purchase along the stone and muscular arms hefted her body up and away from the skeleton-littered ground. Her jaw tensed as she noticed the growing fatigue that pulled at her body in a way that she had not felt in years. She was deftly aware of the weight that her armor pushed against her, something that she had not noticed in a long time. Still, she climbed, gritting her teeth against the shock of her burning shoulders and arms.

Kagome noticed that the bangs which had been neatly bound began to grow and loosen from their tight hold. Her military-esque bun began to sag as her hair continued to grow at the same alarming pace that her strength seemed to drain. Unbeknownst to her, the deep scars that had been ground into the skin beneath her heavy armor began to fade alongside her waning strength. Her physical appearance was changing, morphing into something that was both uniquely her and horrifically not. She began to thin slightly, the hard edge of each muscle began to soften minutely and the recent injuries that both marred and defined her dulled until her skin was completely free of them, with the exception of those that she was gaining as she climbed.

The callouses that had decorated Kagome's hands and fingers seemed to vanish as well. Blood seeped from new wounds and Kagome had to stifle a gasp as her weakening body responded negatively to the harsh stone. A battle between needing to conceal her presence, to scale the Well with pristine stealth, and to curse the Well for whatever it had done to her played out for a brief moment before she coldly dismissed the latter from ever being an option. Survival made stealth a necessity, and if she were killed after six years because she couldn't handle a few scrapes then her training would have been for nothing. The lives of those she had held close, who believed in her to forge a new future and to protect those that would be left behind in the wake of their deaths, would have been lost for nothing. With one last push, Kagome dug the heel of her left foot into a small divot in the stone and lurched upwards until her fingers curled over the edge of the Well. With the utmost grace and poise, she launched herself over crumbling stone and into the lush but empty clearing.

No one was there to greet Kagome as she rose from Bone Eater's Well but that did not mean that her arrival went unnoticed. She crouched low to the ground, brown eyes scouring the grass for any signs of life and taking note of the fact that there was grass at all. When she was satisfied that there was no human nearby, she sent out a probing quiver of reiki to look for the presence of youki. She nearly gave up until she found one small trace nearby. It was clear that the trace did not belong to a lesser youkai but rather, belonged to that of an extremely powerful one that knew how to nearly erase its presence to avoid detection. Narrowing her eyes, Kagome wrangled in the sense of unease that threatened to wash over her and she continued her search. Further out, in the direction that she knew Edo to be, Kagome found another small pulse of youki. While it was as weak as the small shred of youki she had just found, she knew that this trace did not belong to a powerful youkai. She rose fractionally once she discovered no other hints of youki, fingers dancing over where the hilt of her Tetsusaiga should be. Her fingers ran over nothing and the unnerve that she had felt by the presence of grass in the clearing and the existence of a powerful youkai grew tremendously. This concern was highlighted by the sound of two voices steadily heading in her direction. And the clearing was exactly that, it was nearly devoid of any trees and the amount of hiding places was limited to that of the bottom of the Well. Jumping down there would not only likely break her legs, but it would leave her cornered.

"Kagome?" Her thoughts stopped. She felt as though her brain short-circuited. The small voice was far away, but it wasn't far enough away that Kagome couldn't recognize the sound as it carried in the wind. Turning slightly, hand now resting on the hilt of a dagger, Kagome positioned herself to receive the owner. Standing there, what seemed like both miles and mere paces away, was Shippo. Behind him stood a young but mature human female, but in front of Kagome was her Shippo.

Illya of the Twilight Sakura - Shijin au

Headcanons for this new au under the cut ;w;

Set in a feudal japanese esque period, Doma was split into four very different feuding clans, one representing each of the cardinal directions and elements. Each clan owned a set amount of their own territories, had their owl ideals and beliefs and lived in relative peace with one another.

However, every seven years, a bloody war would break out among the four clans over no man’s land - a plot of land that laid right in the center of the four clans. The clan that emerged victorious would win ownership of that land, and also full control over who they could appoint into the government. 

This au doesn’t just pertain to samurai! Each clan has their own set of specialties. Samurai, shinobi, archers, medics etc are all present in this au. 

The four clans:

West: The strongest and largest of the four clans, and also the one that is favored the most by the curre . They are known for their sheer numbers and preference for using brute force and pure strength to win battles. Conscription into their elite forces is mandatory for a select number of capable fighters, and their method of training is known to be strict and harsh. They have been in possession of no man’s land for the past three feuds, and wish to continue to do so in order to keep their position of power and expand on their building project catered towards the noble and rich. 

South: The second largest clan. What they lacked in brute force and durable fighters, they more then made up for in their wit and intellect. They specialize in strategy, superior war tactics and their incredible resourcefulness. They also regularly engage in negotiations with the other clans when necessary, and aren’t above forming temporary alliances. The southern clan wishes to attain no man’s land in order to build schools and facilities for the purpose of education and research. 

North: A clan that specializes in stealth, foul play and manipulation. They may not be quite as aggressive or brutish as those who come from the west, but they are just as much of a threat and danger - if not more so. It’s often hard to tell what the Northern clan is up to, as they prefer solving their problems with roundabout solutions that more often than not can result in collateral. Rumor has it that they don’t even have a set plan for no man’s land if they do win it, they’re simply engaged in the feud for the conflict and potential power over the west.

East: The smallest of the four clans, and also often considered the weakest, as they are the newest to be formed and have only just begun building up an elite force strong enough to be considered a threat to the others in recent years. They often accept refugees not just from foreign lands, but also people from the other clans who have been banished for whatever reason. This clan places great importance on fidelity and being morally upstanding. As such, they have no forms of conscription. Their elite force is simply made of volunteers who truly wished to fight for what they believe to be right. Should they obtain no man’s land, they plan on building hospitals and residences for the most impoverished of the people.  

ILLYA’S HEADCANONS:

Illya is the daughter of Lachlan, a former member of the West clan who fled and married Cocona, a farmer’s daughter who lived on the dangerous outskirts of the Northern clan. Together with a few others, Lachlan went on to be one of the founders of the newly formed Eastern clan. As their forces were still incredibly small and weak, they were trampled upon the other three clans (especially by the west) for the first five wars they’d participated in.

Now aged and growing too weak to be an asset in battle, he hands the mantle over to his only daughter, an 18 year old girl who has trained as a samurai since a tender age for the purpose of fighting in this very battle. 

Illya’s title is “Sakura of Twilight” or “Illya of the Twilight Sakura”, named after the way her katana would glow in the night and the way she could summon sakura petals as she fights. 

In this au, her normally high pitched and soft voice is a lot deeper with a mature tone. She also speaks with far more confidence. I’ll probably make a video just dedicated to her voice another time.

In general, Illya is a little less jittery and anxious than she is in canon, and holds herself with an air of elegance and maturity.

This however, is only a pretense, due to her upbringing and training as a samurai and eventually to be one of the leaders of the Eastern clan. At heart, she is still socially awkward and nervous around strangers. If you fluster her, her normal, high pitched speaking voice will slip out. 

She almost always wears a mask, due to the way people often pointed out how soft and gentle her face looked as she grew up, so much that nobody would ever take her seriously as a samurai. In the above images, she’s wearing a fox mask but only because there aren’t any mods for what I envisioned. In the actual au, Illya wears a black mask with an oni face in order to appear more threatening in battle. 

Illya has a drastic class change from her canon to this au. While she’s still capable of some basic first aid, she’s far from a dedicated chirurgeon or the little goddess of healing she is in canon in this au. 

Her dream was to be a physician, however her sense of obligation to become a samurai much like her father and to fight has pulled her away from that dream. 

Other headcanons:

As your designated clan is usually decided by birth / your parent’s clan, it’s not uncommon to have deserters or traitors from each and every clan. Lachlan for example left the Western clan due to his disagreeing with their fundamental goals.. while many people from the other clans would often leave and join the Western clan due to their power and wealth. There are also many people who would feel forced to remain in their clan, but are fighting unwillingly. Some others end up being spies, or even not siding with any clan at all secretly.

Alphinaud is a member of the South clan, acting as one of the youngest members of their elite force as both a strategist and negotiator. He wishes to form an alliance with the Eastern clan, but the higher ups within his clan sees no benefit in siding with the smallest of the four clans.

Laurelis ( @ancientechos ) is a member of the Eastern clan, acting as a guard and healer when needed.  She often takes in animals and refugees that come running in their territory, convincing them to join with her persuasive and optimistic demeanor. She truly believes everyone should have a home and thinks that their clan may as well be it for those who have no where else to go. And if in the end they decide to go out on their own anyway, she’ll still help them regardless. Any other headcanons will be posted by Jam in the future.

There’s rumors of there being a civil disagreement within the Nothern clan. Despite being known for their scheming and manipulative ways, there are a select few in the Northern clan with genuinely kind intentions. The reputation of the North makes it hard to tell who is being sincere or who is simply pretending to be sincere, however. One such example is Thancred.

There are no dedicated mages or sorcerers for battle in this au, but there is a small amount of magic, or at least supernatural abilities involved sometimes with fights. Like summoning bursts of flames from an arrow / cloning skills used by shinobi / summoning a dragon temporarily genji style etc. Oracles, fortune tellers and the like may exist. Up for interpretation =)

Weird AU in which Asgard operates in a similar fashion as feudal Europe, with the royal family being overlords to the nobles in the kingdom, who were then lords to the peasants and serfs living on their section of the land. Loki, however, doesn’t like being an overlord, and makes a deal with a serf he comes across to use his magic to switch appearances so they can take each other’s places. Prince-and-the-pauper-esque shenanigans ensue.

Or, conversely, Loki just marries me and becomes Mr. Overlord 🤪

1- The first AU that comes to mind is one where Ragnarok doesn't happen/happens differently to how it was prophesied. Because I have this headcanon that Loki doesn't actually want Ragnarok, as in he doesn't want the Nine Worlds to be destroyed. And I don't think the first thing he wants to do after being bound and tortured for millennia is to die.

He'll still prepare everything. His troops of giants and Hel's dead will embark on Naglfar. But they'll have one order: To not strike against the Aesir.

He will strike, though, against those who actually want to burn the worlds down. He will collaborate with the Aesir to bring down Surtr, ensuring another period of peace akin to that prior to Baldr's death.

2- (This one's more of an add-on than an AU but meh) Or, Ragnarök happens how it was prophesied. Odin, Thor, Heimdall, Loki... They all end up dead; but everything goes back to how it was before in some way. And I mean everything.

A new generation of gods take over their parent's roles.

Baldr follows Odin, Magni and Modi follow Thor... And Narvi and Vali follow Loki.

I just have this image of Narvi and Vali breaking into a feast at what is now Baldr's hall, uninvited, and proceeding to engage in flyting with everyone there. It'd be like Lokasenna but better because now there isn't one but two rascals throwing insults (By better I obviously mean more chaotic. Loki is wiping tears of pride in the afterlife and so is Sigyn let's be honest with ourselves).

3- This stems from a previous headcanon of mine so Imma provide context.

In Jotunheim, there used to be a royal authoritarian regime ruling over each of the jotunn tribes, sort of like a feudal society.

The monarchs from each tribe ended up arranging marriages for their children. Farbauti, leader of the fire giants, arranged to marry his son Loki to Tjazi's daughter Skadi. In my actual headcanon they get out of it thanks to Farbauti dying in the middle of a Russian Revolution-esque series of commoner revolts against the tyrannical systems and his wife Laufey annulling the marriage (I may expand on that in another post, I feel like I'm putting too much confusing info here lmao), but in this AU either Farbauti doesn't die during those revolts, or they don't happen at all, so Skadi and Loki end up married. Chaos ensues.

Ok idk if you're still into the flash at all but.... how would you feel about a westallen Inuyasha au? Would that be anything??

okay so, i’m not caught up with the flash because i was too stressed to keep up this year and plan to just watch the whole new season when it’s on netflix, but i’m always a slut for westallen

for an inuyasha au, i’m thinking it would need a few adjustments but it would ultimately work.

1. the first adjustment is that iris as kagome has been accidentally falling down the well for a few days at a time since she was very small. barr-yasha is basically the same age and they grow up together as they have small on and off again adventures. there is no kikyo figure because it just wouldn’t really work for the westallen dynamic? not that i don’t love kikyo, but i’m not feeling it with them.

2. when iris is in high school, she finally spends long enough in the feudal era for naraku to pick up on the energy signature in her body and go. oh shit! she has the sacred jewel! he sends someone to try to get it but it ends up destroyed and iris is like. well. this is great.

3. and barry’s like, wagging his little dog demon tail!!!! iris has to come back more!??!?!? and she’s like.... this is a BAD thing but barry can’t convince himself of that.

4. the will they or won’t they aspect comes more from iris debating between modern world vs feudal era and eddie (modern era) vs barry (feudal era) whereas barry is, of course, immediately ride or die.

5. i was debating between caitlin or cisco for miroku, but since cisco’s the one going through the “gotta get rid of my powers” subplot, i think that he would work better for the person whose powers/family curse is literally ripping him apart. plus wind tunnel/vibes are a good visual match up. we’re also de-perv troping miroku, as is right and proper

6. caitlin as sango is great, and i think that a ronnie as a kohaku ish figure would work nicely? not as sold on that one but i feel like it would work well for the season 1 dynamic

7. eobard thawne, is of course, naraku. he could even pull a plot where he joins the team and is actively working against them and then there’s the twist where they find out that he’s THE WORST later and actively sewing discord. i could dig that. something with cisco about how the wind tunnel that THAWNE created is what gives him power but simultaneously is killing him and thawne is a little regretful but mainly just manipulative and condescending would be quality. 

8. the different harrys from different universes as naraku’s incarnations and harry as a kagura one where he has a sesshomaru-esque adopting a young jesse plot could be very fun

9. i don’t know of anyone who could straight up be sesshomaru to barry’s inuyasha. anyone got any ideas? i feel like he and rin are the only characters i love other than specific naraku incarnations that i haven’t filled yet

10. when iris decides to come back she becomes a feudal era journalist/historian recording all the important things that have happened around the country and also using the information to make a difference and help bring about a peaceful era and barr-yasha becomes a superhero who defeats the people who try to use their might to bully others.

my friend who is here is shouting “HE SHOULDN‘T BE A DOG DEMON HE SHOULD STILL BE A SPEEDSTER SO THEY GET THIS SHIT DONE IN ONE SEASON INSTEAD OF SIXTEEN!“ so there’s that too.

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

I don’t know if you heard that, but it’s the sound of my soul leaving my body and finding some semblance of peace. There’s a lot of stories I want to revise.

For instance: the mafia fics/series I made for Yuri on Ice, the regency!omegaverse I did for the same fandom, a reincarnation/time-travel I wrote when YoI was a fledgling fandom but I eventually pulled from AO3 because I didn’t know how to continue it, the physics teacher!Connor and android!Gavin fic I did for Detroit: Become Human, a lot of WIPs in my folder right now for BSD because I’ve been worldbuilding and fleshing out those stories but unsure how to execute them quite yet and….there’s a lot.One of the biggest reasons I want to revise those old works because with each new WIP, I grow and learn something new as a writer and I would like to pass on my experience and see how I would approach old ideas with a new perspective. But obviously, there are too many WIPs to choose from and I don’t know which one I would want to revise.The one I would want to do-over was a WIP I never posted onto AO3 and it was the feudal historical story, featuring kitsune and other youkai. That was a terrific WIP to write for and it strengthened me as a worldbuilder. I would like to return to it and re-conceptualize the plot and write the wandering story between a kitsune and a guy who can foresee tragedy through smoke.

37. Talk about your current wips.

One of my WIPs is called the “Spaghetti Fic” because it’s a story told through second person, where a character is making dinner to celebrate his anniversary with his husband and is reminiscing all the highs and lows they’ve been through as friends and as a couple. I did the second person approach because I wanted to write the first half of the story as a recipe before I transition into a traditional narrative format. Something a little unique and something new for me to write for.

My second WIP is a greek mythology!AU for Bungou Stray Dogs, featuring the classic myth of Hades & Persephone + a murder-esque mystery where our main characters learned that a seasonal hora by the name of Winter used to exist before she was wiped from history and from the natural order. Alongside the mystery, I think one of my favorite parts about this WIP is figuring out which deity each BSD character would be and that’s been a lot of fun.

Dazai makes for an inquisitive, slightly sadistic and worrisome Persephone and Oda is the “chill as a cucumber, but sweating bullets” Hades that tends to a large library in the underworld, stocked full of history about humanity and the gods. You got Ranpo as the fiery Hermes and self-proclaimed “Olympian Hawk”, you have Agatha Christie as the cunning and dangerous Athena whose loyalties aren’t as you’d expect, you have Chuuya as Apollo and the sharpshooter for the sun. You have Haruno, Mark Twain, and Yamagiwa as the seasonal horai that mark the transition of Spring, Summer, and Autumn. You have Hirotsu as the ferryman for the dead, you have H.G. Wells as the goddess of fate/destiny and how her prophecies play a huge impact over the story, You’ve got Fyodor as the deceptive god, Dolos, and how he uses temptation to draw the worst or best out of the gods and among other things.

I liken this story to a soap opera because it’s so character-driven.
