The pupils will be introduced by Miss Donna Johnson and Mr. Neil A. Johnson, co-headteachers of Levenshulme High School, Manchester.

Professor Yaron Matras will introduce the main language communities, with a focus on the language of the city’s Muslim populations. He will discuss how information on languages is compiled, what functions languages have, and what multilingual spaces exist in the city. Yaron Matras is a linguist specialising in multilingualism and minority languages. He founded and led the multilingual Manchester program.

Pour survivre dans une dictature il y a certains règles a respecter :

1 il ne faut jamais parler politique dans un taxi .

2 il ne faut jamais évoqué les noms des opposants au pouvoir en fuite a l'étranger

3 et bien sur il ne faut jamais exprimer ces idée politique a haut , a mi ou a basse voix même si vous êtes seul au milieu du désert.

In order to survive in a dictatorship there are certain rules to respect:

1 you should never speak politics in a taxi.

2 You must never mention the names of opponents of fleeing power abroad

3 and of course we must never express these political ideas a high, a half or a low voice even if you are alone in the middle of the wilderness.
