Skeletal Dragon Felgrand

Now THIS. THIS is what I want a Felgrand Dragon counterpart to look like: a radically different, ultra rad design that still is very recognizably Felgrand Dragon. They really went nuts with the prompt "Take Felgrand Dragon and make it look fucked up." From the elongated, skeletal limbs to the weird purple veins to the absolutely horrific exposed spine, this monster screams "undead dragon." Don't even get me started on how well done the foreshortening is on this one. Perfectly seamless AND you get to see all those freaky details on its close up hand. The decision to pair Felgrand's normal colors with purple was excellent and really brings this card home for me. It even has purple wing membranes now!!! Not to mention the evil, entropic energy radiating from it now. Man I can't stop staring at its literal actual spine though.

Haven’t made any 7Ds posts in awhile so here’s Flynn with his most iconic monsters (not counting upgrades, temporary members, and alignment ending additions)

I’m going to post the Apocalypse sequel eventually I swear. I love how Stardust Dragon stands out lol. (Sorry Felgrand I was too lazy to cut you out manually so you’re in the back.) As for how he ended up with a bunch of zombies and yokai it’s a long story 😅. TDLR: He was originally going to have his deck evolve into the ghost samurai Shiranui but I got too attached to the cards he already had.

Lance - he would use Blue Eyes White Dragon let's be real, Blue Eyes Alt is his ace and he'd specialize in Fusion summoning, he probs has all the Blue Eyes Fusion monsters too; well, that or Felgrand bc Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand lowkey fits him

Steven - he has the vibes that he knows how to Link summon so let's give him G Golem Invalid Dolmen as his ace

Wallace - lowkey I think he'd have a similar deck to Ryoga and Rio, tho I'm leaning more on Rio's deck bc it fits his vibes so his ace would be Ice Princess Zereort or Number 94: Crystalzero

Cynthia - I want her ace to be Draco Berserker of Tenyi idk it fits the vibes bc it's like Garchomp, really strong but one Ice Beam would probs kill it lmfao

Iris - okay I know she'd have a full Dragon deck I just know it and her ace would be Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon. And ofc she's gonna be the main charac here and what yugioh mc hasn't gone through their bastardization arc amirite so she's also gonna have Number 62: Galaxy Eyes Prime Photon Dragon

Diantha - look w the pendant she has I want her to use Pendulum summoning okay she would, I want her to have both Abyss Actor and Solfachord decks, I picture her using Solfachord when out in public bc I see her as someone who'd be a dueltainer, and her ace in her Solfachord deck is ofc DoSolfachord Coolia. In her Abyss Actor deck she'd have Abyss Actor Superstar as her ace, and I picture her using this deck out of the public eye or maybe under a persona bc ofc, no one would expect the elegant shining actress of Kalos to use fiend type monsters, but she loves her Abyss Actors y'know, they're theatre kids like her lmfaooo

Hau - lowkey I see him having the Yosenju deck,, or like,, the Destiny Hero deck, but also the Elemental Hero deck fits him too. But I'm kinda leaning more on the Destiny Heroes one bc that deck plays heavily around the graveyard, and smth smth connection to Decidueye being a Ghost type and all that. Plus it'd be interesting ofc since like the Destiny Heroes deck are said to be based on vigilantes/anti heroes, and it'd be dope to see that while Hau is like, this really carefree guy, he has this side that's like, if you fuck around you're really gonna find out y'know what I'm saying hahah but yeah his ace is Destiny HERO Plasma and like, as a treat he'd also get Destiny HERO Dominance

Leon - okay this one I legit see him having the Odd Eyes deck, he'd also Pendulum summon, I want him and Dia to be dueltainers but Leon's really more on the entertaining side while Dia's there fucking everyone up w her Abyss Actors. It'd be dope too if he snaps he'd summon out Odd Eyes Raging Dragon, but yeah, his ace would be Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Tho, normal Odd Eyes and then Odd Eyes Advance also low-key fits his vibes

Geeta - okay Geeta I'd wanna give her the Six Samurai deck, mainly bc of Kingambit,,, and yeah hahah it'd be dope ig bc apparently there wasn't much?? Abt the Six Samurais until they added Legendary Six Samurai Shi En, so yeah that's gonna be Geeta's ace monster hahah I wanna say she's have that and Shadow of the Six Samurai Shien

Duel Monsters Artwork & Lore Part 19: Felgrand Dragon

My most recent favorites are part of the Felgrand series. Seems like Paladin of Felgrand, who I have deemed my “soul card,” awakens the power of the Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lords and wields Felgrand Dragon’s strength as Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand. Apparently Darkblaze Dragon, Arkbrave Dragon, and Hunter Dragon are also related to Felgrand in some way.

Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand

Felgrand Dragon has been one of my all time favorite dragon monsters for many years, so imagine my surprise when I find out from one of you guys that it has a handful of counterparts. Unfortunately, I must admit... I'm a little disappointed here. Not a lot has changed between regular Felgrand and this guy. The only obvious change outside of increased brightness/shininess is the blue, chain-like appendages coming out from behind its head. There’s a few other things as well, like a much smoother tail in comparison and a left hand that looks more Odd-Eyes chameleon style with two thumbs, but otherwise????? This art is mostly just the same pose but flipped.

Days 6 and 7 are temporarily delayed, but I’ll post them when first able. In the mean-time, here’s days 4 and 5, featuring Felgrand Dragon and Fenghuang!

Day 4: Felgrand Dragon

God this thing is cool looking. I always loved the way the crazy back spines were, and the design always stood out to me with its crisp posing and details even among the other Yu-Gi-Oh dragons. I just really hope this bad boy sees use in the Duel Links meta someday, because that’d be rad. Took about 2.5 hours, using a yellow, a teal, and a purple pastel alongside a White for the highlights.

Day 5: Fenghuang

I’ve always enjoyed the art for Spirit monsters, and Fenghuang is certainly not going to be the last one on this month. He gets the first spot however largely for being a pretty damn fine Phoenix, which is my personal favorite mythical beast. Took about 4 hours, using a yellow, purple, magenta, and a green, with additional highlight blues used for the head’s feathers since highlighting them in red would come out a bit awkward in the context of the card. Might end up having to drop Pastels for these until November (pastel redo month perhaps?) but we’ll see based on how the next few days go. Doing both inked details and pastels on top of that for 30 days is kinda rough. That said, I’ll see you all in a few days!

The first part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Slashers! being explained... Even though I don't have art, yikes.

This is just a small portion of a whole document I'm working on. Let me know what you think, it's the synopsis and nothing else. In the world of Slashers, the earth here is in the year 2050. Where we’ve mostly have made improvements to the technology that we already had, and some new ones. A big inventions for a long while is the Contract Card, where a person could take a monster and claim it as their own. Note these beings have free will and once contracted they are known as Contract Monsters. They can be used in a large variety of ways, like chores, cooking, or even shopping. But one very known notable use for them is it’s conjunction with a Driver, where a normal human can combine with a Contract Monster and fight without some issues. Normally this is done by Furiko Enterprise Combat Group (F.E.C.G.) for combating the Alter Beasts, strange monsters appearing out of nowhere for unknown reasons. One of these Drivers end up in Yushinhen’s hand, a boy with initially no Contract Monster until his first meeting with Felgrand a Golden Dragon with a lost brother. Can he, his friends, and F.E.C.G. Stop the monsters, or are there more within those creatures.

The rivalry between Duel Academy: Siberia and Seto Kaiba’s Duel Academy was far more intense than Duel Academy, and North Academy had ever been. Any duel between students had to be held under professional dueling statutes, as pick-up duels had been ... dicey in the past.

Currently, there were two duelists facing one another down in the Kaiba Dome. Justin Robberts was standing in between the two, on loan from All Elite Dueling. “Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest will be held under professional dueling standards. Meaning the first duelist to reduce their opponent’s life points to zero, draw all five pieces of Exodia The Forbidden one, or deck their opponent out will be declared the winner.”

“Introducing first! Representing Duel Academy: Siberia! She hails from Saint Petersburg Russia, and has a professional dueling record of two hundred ninety-eight wins, zero losses, and two draws. Her deck of choice, is a spellcaster lockdown deck. She is, Tali Romanov Rasputin!”

“And her opponent! Representing Duel Academy! He hails from New Orleans Louisiana, and has a professional dueling record of three hundred wins, zero losses, and zero draws. His deck of choice is known as Felgrand’s Fire! He is the current Tripple-ah World Heavyweight Champion! He is El Mega Champion De Increbleale! The American Dragon .... JAAAAAAACKSON COOOOOOORVUUUUUS!”
