There isn't really a theme to my blog, I just find sideblogs too hard to keep track of so I keep everything in one spot. Longer About Me

I'm converting to Judaism. Currently, I'm working on observing Shabbat and beginning more serious Torah study. We'll see where this goes; I would say that the journey > the destination, if the destination wasn't so good. You'll see me shitposting about this a lot, because it's something that's important to me and my brain likes to make up jokes about everything I think about for a prolonged period of time.

I'm also learning Hebrew. Currently, it isn't very good, but I can hold a basic conversation using some Google translate for individual words. I had to re-learn nikud because of reading the Siddur and Tanakh. I'm not very commentary-literate, though I've attempted to get into reading some for the Torah. Also, I keep mostly kosher!

Tag Filtering

So, I'm not very good at tagging, but one that I use pretty frequently is #ask to tag and it's a catch-all for anything that you might want to proceed with caution in. I also use #long post and #arguing a lot, for long posts and arguing respectively. Other than that, I'll tag most things about a certain bigotry with #[bigotry], including examples of that bigotry. If you're affected by said bigotry, you can and should filter the tag for your mental health!

I recommend that you filter out certain words entirely instead of just tags if you are triggered by a subject, since I oftentimes forget to tag posts with adequate warning tags. I don't like to tag things a lot, so if you are triggered by things I post about a lot and word filtering doesn't work for you, feel free to unfollow.

Although this is not an ED blog, I have an eating disorder and I post about it under the tag #ed talk. If you are uncomfortable with hearing that kind of discussion, block the tag and don't engage with the posts. If you are the kind of person who thinks people with eating disorders should have to censor themselves online for the comfort of others, do yourself a favor and don't follow me at all.

Okay, I just want to address some of the drama/issues being talked about in the tsp fandom right now. (For now I've seen two, but I am not specifying) and I want to share my opinion/what i personally am going to do with this.

I am not siding with anyone in either of these situations, I have opinions on who I Believe is right/wrong obviously but I am not stating any of these.

The tsp fandom is a community I've been a part of for about a year and a half now and it's really great, and I hate to see issues rising. I'm just going to talk about what my accounts are going to be for the rest of the time I'm a part of this fandom and how I deal with drama such as what is going on.

1: I am never going to leave or stop posting due to drama within the community. I have never personally been involved and that is not my problem, and I never have the full side of everyone involved' story so I don't believe I can really have a stable opinion, or enough to speak up about it.

2: yes, some creators are problematic but not everyone needs to be blocked. I've seen people be disappointed in creators because they are problematic or drew something they don't like and they are disappointed they can no longer view their work, and this just isn't the case. Of course mental health plays a big role here and it's your decision if you want to block somebody or not support them, but if someone does things you don't like you can either try to ignore it or just unfollow and occasionally look if your still interested. Just remember this is all your decision, and I'm not trying to convince anyone here.

3: I will NOT be addressing any of these issues other then this post or maybe some more similar to this. I don't want to drag any of this onto my account or get attacked for anything (another reason I don't state my opinion). I want to try to keep this community as safe and fun as possible for everyone that follows any of my accounts or who just wants to enjoy this fandom like I do.

4:I am not trying to disrespect anyone in any of these situations, this post isn't targeted to anyone. I am also not trying to keep anyone from posting about people that can be or potentially be a threat to some people's comfortability or community. It's important to keep this in check, but I am not going to be one of those people unless something personal happens to me that I feel needs to be talked about.

Announcement

I am officialy putting Gale and Astarion on low activity/highly selective status. There's only a few things both the boys are responding to regularly. I'm also gonna be purging my inbox because nothing in there is really speaking to me and I think cleaning things up will help a great deal with the overwhelmed anxiety I'm feeling over here.

What this means: I'm feeling burnt out and need to limit myself so that I don't lose the desire to continue one of my favorite hobbies. I still have muse for the boys here, it's just limited and I can't keep trying to write what isn't flowing for me. I'll probably be checking in on this blog two or three times a week and responding to things as I can find the muse until Gale and Astarion's voices grow strong again.

What this doesn't mean: I'm ignoring people on purpose or with ill intent, or that my struggle to continue our threads or start up interactions has any bearing on your writing/muses/ooc personality. This is a me thing, not a you thing.

I've been RPing online since I was 13 years old in CompuServe chatrooms and Yahoo!Groups when that was still a thing, and I'm 40 now. I know well enough when I need to step back and limit myself before I overwhelm/overstimulate myself and leave people disappointed, which just causes anxiety in me with my people pleasing ways.

If this means you don't want to continue things with me, that's fine. If you need to unfollow me for your comfort on your dash, that is fine too. I just want to put this out there for anyone who might be feeling like I have been.

I've been noticing recently that scrolling tumblr was making me unhappy. Not all the time, but often enough that it was something that I actually noticed. So I started paying attention to when I felt unhappy and then why. For me, it was when I saw statements related to killing or harming oneself or others. For you, it might be seeing a ship you don't like or other content that makes you uncomfortable.

I know that a lot of the posts I saw were hyperbolic in nature, but that didn't make them less shocking or distressing for me when I encountered them. So I did an experiment. For a period of about a week, every time I saw one, I closed the app.

Let me tell you, I've never used tumblr less in my life.

That told me that I was spending a lot of time seeing content that was actively upsetting me. No wonder I wasn't happy. So what do I do? Stop using tumblr? I seriously considered it. But tumblr makes me happy a lot of the time too, so instead I needed to do something harder: I had to start unfollowing people.

Some of these are people I've followed for years. All of them are people I like. I feel guilty doing it, but at the same time I know that it's either keep following them and be exposed to things that upset me on a regular basis or unfollow them and spend more of my free time in an enjoyable way.

I'll miss them, of course. It's not like this is all they ever post! They put lots of great stuff on my dash. But they also share things that make me feel bad, and I need to draw that boundary for myself. I don't want to follow people who share posts that upset me, and that's okay.

It's also totally okay that they post and share the things that they like, no matter what my opinion of that stuff is. It's their blog! They should put whatever they want on it.

The way to control what I do and don't see on my dash is to control who I follow and who I don't. Unfollowing (and even blocking, if that's what you need) isn't a moral condemnation. It's an acknowledgement that our tastes differ.

If you find yourself unhappy while you're scrolling whatever social media you choose, take the time to figure out what it is that's making you unhappy and do what you can to reduce it. The world is hard enough already.

Oh I'm sorry let me clarify. When I mean hate will not be tolerated in my blog I mean that no homophobia, transphobia, racism and just bigotry in general are welcome here. The reason I don't put "bigotry" instead is because it also goes for hate directed at communitys like furry, therians, or anyone who falls under the cringe umbrella just for having harmless fun. That's what I stand for. So, obviously, I'm not going to be kind to a groomer who was also racist and misogynistic multiple times. Also I don't really understand what you're upset about? Are you upset because I tagged a post Dream neg? You understand that I tag that so that people like you who don't want to see this type of content can block that tag and not bother me right?

And another thing, you have a nerve for coming into my blog to call me a hypocrite (anonymously btw. If you're going to send me hate at least do it bravely) while being a hypocrite yourself. i started taking it seriously when i was 15. seeing lesbian fanart was what caused my gay awakening and i felt like there wasn't enough of it, so i decided to get better.

i kind of dislike it, actually. i have filled over 1000 A4 sheets and 7 sketchbooks over the years, but it's all quick doodles to practise or warm up. when i bought a tablet i could carry around i stopped drawing traditionally as often, but i still find myself drawing in my sketchbook from time to time when i want to sketch midlessly or get better at something.

When I first ventured into this fandom, I made a close friend who inspired me to write beyond my initial headcanons, and adopt more fanon-accepted lore. I didn't mind, though my first hcs are still dear to my heart.

Through posting those fics on AO3, I and that first friend were adopted into a friend group, three of whom I felt I had gotten especially close with. One of those people, I ended up having a falling out with. It sucks, but it happens. I'm sure I'm the bad guy in their story because they pretty swiftly blocked me everywhere.

That first friend and I, we had a parting of ways that was very painful for me, some months later. I don't want to talk about it other than to say, they also blocked me. And I can't ship dewther anymore.

A third person, our interactions slowed and I only discovered they'd blocked me some time in March. A shame, I loved their art. They never spoke to me about why they chose to block instead of simply unfollowing. I have to assume they had their reasons, but that was very triggering for me, due to past friendship trauma many, many years ago now.

Now tonight I've unfollowed the last person from that group. We haven't been mutuals for a while, and I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. They've claimed they don't unfollow on purpose, but I can't help but have my doubts. I don't know why I held on for so long, seeing their username hasn't inspired good thoughts in me for quite some time now.

I'm not sure why I'm posting about this. Posterity I suppose. I have many people I love seeing on my dash, and a few of you I do DM with occasionally, or have contact with on other platforms. I have my best friend and the love of my life (who is, appropriately, my other best friend) because of this fandom.

okay i'm going to turn off anons for a while so this will be the last thing i'll say about this. if you do want to have a discussion about this, i'm open to having it as long as it's earnest (which judging from the tone of your message, isn't the case).

number one, the post about the evil bg3 character hairstyle was meant to be a joke. i know that saying "bro this is just a joke" is a crappy defence sometimes, but i never aimed for serious character analysis in a joke image i made in 20 minutes that came from me noticing a funny pattern.

number two: i haven't done the gale romance nor played through the gale origin. all i know about gale's story is what i've experienced through a tav that didn't romance him, so it's very likely i missed some of the content related to his story. that being said, i've seen both "mystra is evil" and "mystra isn't evil" thinkpieces, so i honestly didn't want to get into this discourse since i have zero to none knowledge about gale's wider backstory and mystra's wider dnd lore. if i had included mystra as a villain i would've probably gotten people contesting that, too, so i decided to just put her in a category that wasn't "100% maliciously evil villain". she absolutely did harm to gale, and i'm not denying that. i'm just not comfortable making a clear judgment on if she's irredeemably evil or not.

one. due to the nature of my roleplaying style, there will absolutely be mature (please keep reading to know what this means) themes here and there on this blog. i’d like to stress that i will not usually be comfortable roleplaying with muns that are under the age of eighteen (18) so please understand my confidence / comfort-ability is all based on how i feel around the mun. as this character is underage canonly, there will be no smut writing on this blog. any NSFW content will be only gore/horror related, not smut related. the mun is FAR over the age of 21 (i just turned 31) and just isn't comfortable writing that sort of thing with a character who is originally the age of 12/13, even if aged up. ya nasties. stop sexualizing children.

two. this is a selective/private blog. i really only roleplay with mutuals, however you’re more than welcome to reply to any of my open starters if i specify that you can but just know i might not reply because i (1) don’t know your muse, (2) have zero muse for the reply and will get to it later, (3) have no interest in the thread, or (4) am uncomfortable with something on your blog. roleplaying is also a hobby for me. i work full time and sometimes i genuinely cannot reply fast. if you hassle me to reply to things, i will not want to roleplay with you and it will turn me off from roleplaying with you completely. in fact, if you harrass me to reply to threads, i will automatically unfollow you because i’m not about that life of being pushed to reply to things. if you spam my follow button to try and get my attention, that will result in a soft block on your behalf. please don’t test my patience. if you do not have your ooc name on your page i will not follow you, due to me thinking hiding your ooc alias is shady and sketchy af.

three. i love shipping and i love roleplaying so much. this is not a single ship blog and none of the ships i portray are at the same time (unless further discussed with muns, of course). my muse is a free for all but only if chemistry. if i do have mains, which will be listed, they are just the people i will reply to the most, however, i won't actually limit myself to only roleplaying with them and i hope my mains respect and are comfortable with that.

four. tagging triggers is something that means a lot to me as i am not comfortable with needles or puppets on my dashboard so i blacklist needles tw and puppets tw. i know it’s weird but hey, we all have our things. please let me know if you need anything tagged- even if i don’t personally follow you. you deserve a clean and safe dashboard to roleplay in. warning.

five. anon hate will be deleted on the spot. no exceptions. i don’t care about your petty feelings and i won’t tolerate them in the slightest. i’m not here to entertain horrible people’s opinions of myself. constructive criticisms are allowed, but at the respect of myself reblogging a meme asking for it specifically.

six. mutuals are allowed to ask for my discord, since i tend to also roleplay on it!

seven. i very rarely will send in passwords, as i do not require it and i should not have to be tested on your blog to be allowed to roleplay with someone. usually if you have a password, i genuinely just didn’t think to look for it and i apologize if this upsets you but you probably won’t see any from me.

I got a message with a bit of attitude about me not updating enough. It was rude and dismissive and incredibly entitled so I just wanna address it here.

All my writing is done as a hobby, for pleasure, and for enjoyment. I am not being paid or compensated for the hours I put into my writing and creating. As such, sometimes I do not have it in me to put anything out. Whether I am busy with real life, burnt out, or just not in the mood, there can be days to weeks where I will not be able to post.

You are not entitled to any of my writing. I can easily block you if you hadn't sent the ask as an anon. I share my writing because I want it to be enjoyed but with the caveat that I am respected for my efforts. The same way that we send praises and appreciation to all the wonderful people who make edits and gifs that we all share.
