Note
RedVeggiemon was one of the Digimon World recolors to get a redesign beyond being a simple recolor (the other was MetalEtemon, but MetalEtemon was pretty much one of three cosmetic Mews in that game, and it was quickly repurpossed by stuff that was being developed at the same time as Digimon World). While the most infamous ones like ModokiBetamon or Zassoumon (a SECOND Veggiemon recolor) didn't get any usage, a bunch of them got featured in the various animes after Adventure. Hell, Gigadramon got featured in Adventure, and it remained the Megadramon palette swap it was in World (with some texture work on the wings).
Oh, so that's where Gigadramon came from. I've always wondered why these two take up two separate evolution slots in games that feature them when one's just a recolor of the other.
In fact, I still wonder that. There are so many Digimon. A game with a finite number of Digimon slots on its evolution trees could stand to drop the recolors.
Thinking about Cyber Sleuth and its sequel, mainly. <.<

Part of an interesting parallel between 02, GX, and arguably ARC-V is that we spend a lot of time establishing the characters, but the worldbuilding is very slowly established, and plot is much more slowly established, hence the feeling of a slow pace.
****
Episode 4.
There is a brief moment when Ken tries to whip Veggiemon, they defecate. It is a very quick shot, so you might miss it, though it is quite funny.
This episode does not feature any new Armor Evolution, instead it establishes the lore of Dark Towers, and the Yamato-Daisuke relationship.
Correction from the previous post, Dark Rings are called Evil Rings in Japanese.
