I'm using this. Behold:

The ghost knight character I have. He convinced his god to let him stick around. He would absolutely have a sense of humor about it too, since he can be intangible to things without souls, while keeping his hammer tangible. (According to Belior, it depends on whether one intends to pass through something or not)

I could also do the "not human" route with an army of wearls led by Felira or Llewyn, but I feel like that's less interesting.

With full respect to the Professor, if I were to ever work a "subject cannot be killed by any living man" prophecy into one of my stories, I think I'd want to actually play with the 'living' part of the condition instead of 'male' or even 'human.' Imagine the drama if Bob Redshirt, beloved secondary character, looses an arrow at the villain, kicks the bucket himself while it's in flight, and posthumously lands a perfect shot.
