Evangeline’s Edition: Current Favourite Products
I’m always trying beauty products, and as a result, I’m always asked what my favourite products are, so here I’m bring you “Evangeline’s Edition”, a round up of the current products that I’m obsessed with and give my tick of approval.
Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint
For some strange reason, it often seems that tinted lip balms dry out my lips rather than hydrating them. Whilst many tinted lip balms may feel comfortable at first, I find once the product has worn off my lips always seem to be quenching for moisture. That was not the case with the Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint, which has instantly become a favourite product of mine! Ultra smooth, buttery and creamy, these tinted lip balms glide over the lips with the uttermost ease, smoothing over texture and any flakiness on the lips. The buttery formula means each lip balm has a beautiful shiny and glossy finish without any stickiness and once the shine has worn away lips are still left with gorgeous subtle stain! The shades are sheer (but still have a little colour) making them perfect for no makeup days and a natural look.
Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream Moisturiser
Chantecaille is a brand that I haven’t personally had much experience with, an odd product here and there, I haven’t really experimented a lot with the brand. Recently I received the Chantecaille Flower Moisturiser and I must say, I’m incredibly impressed. The formula is perfect for drier skin types (like mine) and Is the perfect rich, emollient, and nourishing cream, it is packed full of nutrients, oils, and butters yet it still feels comfortable and lightweight on the skin, with only a small amount needed to give beautiful nourishment to the skin. The scent is on the strong side (read: a deep floral) and is very similar to what you would find from skincare brand Jurlique. After using the cream for the first quarter of the year, I’ve noticed an improvement in the texture of my skin (foundation goes on much smoother) I have no dry and flaky patches, and I wake up with glowing skin without any greasiness.
Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm
Weleda are expanding their famous “Skin Food” line into a range of skincare products, no longer just limited to the all-in-one multi-use product, a body lotion, lip balm, and light variation are three new additions well worth trying. The Skin Food Lip Balm has quickly become a firm favourite of mine, giving major hydration and nourishment to dry lips. The lip balm features all the great attributes of the original skin food. The formula is of a thicker, balmier consistency which really works to lock in moisture and create a barrier to protect the lips. The squeeze tube makes application easy (and much more hygienic than a pot) and it is a fantastic product to use before sleeping.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot
Tarte eyeshadows are some of my ultimate favourites (especially the rainforest of the sea collections) I’ve been obsessed with the finger foil eyeshadow palette since it launched a few years ago, and I’m super excited that tarte have launched a similar version in an individual pot form. Super pigmented, these creamy eyeshadows are best applied with the fingertips and give intense, foiled colour with just one swipe across the eyelid. The lighter shades also make beautiful highlighters for not only the inner corners of the eyes, but the face too! Although they have such intense colour pay off, the shadows are still easy enough to blend, and other shadows still layer well over the top. Try and use a synthetic brush to blend for the best results.
Too Faced It’s Bananas Setting Powder
I’ve always been quite hesitant when it comes to banana powders for brightening and setting the skin, having such fair, porcelain skin I’ve found that many banana powders tend to show up as quite yellow on my skin making me look sallow, slightly orange, and ghastly, but the Too Faced Tutti Fruity powder may have changed my opinion on banana powders altogether. The face powder contains 3 “Banana’s” which are dispersed in a sheer, ultra-fine and translucent powder, the two blend together to create a perfectly slightly tinted yellow tone which helps to correct redness and brighten up dull complexions. By having a mix of both shades, you can really alter and customize the colour to suit your preference, picking up a little more of the translucent powder if you tend to be on the fairer side, or concentrating more on the yellow bananas if you lean a little deeper.

𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐑 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 | Joining in with @𝐭𝐡𝐞_𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐰_𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 #friyayfaves these products have been some of my favourites from my PM routine but I need to switch them up to start on some new products that need reviewing. 😊 @drroebucks - lifesaver Skin Brightening Toner @drroebucks - Ninagloo Firming Serum * @drlevyofficial - 3Deep Cell Renewal Micro-Resurfacing Cleanser @imfrom_global - Rice Toner * @jurlique - Rosewater Balancing Mist * @klairs.global - Fundamental Ampule Mist * @swanicoco.official - Bio Peptine Fermentaion Peptine Eye Care Cream There are definitely a few *Holy Grail products in that list but in saying that they have all been really great products. That's the one downfall of testing new skincare when you have a really great routine. It's like a love/hate thing. I LOVE testing new skincare and finding new and amazing products but then I am always reluctant to switch out a product I know is working well for my skin. If I didn't try new things though, life would be become very dull and I am always so appreciative of products I get to try. I never take it for granted. Hi Tina, just wondering if you could discuss your skin care routine . your skin looks glowing and flawless all the time!
Hi there,
Awww I’m happy you think so! My skin atm isn’t looking the best because I’ve been slacking off, especially since I had my brows touched up so I couldn’t properly wash my face, etc.
This is the run down of my complete skincare routine for when I’m bothered, which is maybe 4-5 days of the week. On my lazy days I generally just cleanse and moisturise.
Daytime:
-Cleanse skin with Philosophy Purity cleanser
-Tone with SKII Facial Treatment clear lotion OR occasionally I’d use Biore Triple Action Toner for when I have any breakouts as it contains salicylic acid
-SKII Facial Treatment Essence before applying my moisturiser
-Moisturise with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream
-If I’m going out for the day, I’ll protect with La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF50, otherwise I skip this step if I’ll be staying home
-Depending on whats nearby me at the time, I’ll use either Vaseline, Lucas Paw Paw ointment or DIOR Creme de Rose lip balm for my lips
Nighttime:
-Cleanse skin with the same cleanser however I’ll use it with my Foreo Luna Mini face brush
-Tone, essence, moisturise and lip care as above
-Treatment moisturiser with SKII RNA moisturiser
-Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair cream
Extras:
-Mario Badescu drying lotion for when I have any pimples, I apply this overnight
-Any sheet face mask that hydrates, I’ll use 2-3 times per week at nighttime after cleansing my skin, and then follow with my regular skincare. My favourite sheet masks are Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution
-During the day if my skin needs a pick me up, I’ll spritz some MAC Fix+ or Jurlique Rosewater Balancing mist
That pretty much sums up the products I use! Like I said, i only do the full routine 4-5 days per week because I get really tired and lazy

2019 Wedding Trends to Know Now if You’re Getting Married This Year
Link to Article
From practical wedding dresses with pockets and simple gowns to metallic eye makeup and bold wedding colours, here’s the 2019 wedding trends you need to know about now if you’re getting married this year...
2019 Wedding Trends to Know Now if You’re Getting Married This Year
2019 Bridal Fashion Trends
Wedding dresses with pockets
Wedding dresses (and jumpsuits) with pockets were all over the runways during Bridal Fashion Week. And in 2019, the modern-day bride is prioritising practicality and comfort over aesthetic.
Robin Weil, founder and CEO of weddingplanner.co.uk, agrees that the trend of wedding dresses with pockets has risen as a direct result of brides prioritising comfort and practicality on their wedding day.
“Wedding dresses with pockets have been gaining popularity for the last few years now. and from a bride’s perspective, it’s quite a practical solution if they want to keep their phone, tissues or lipstick with them.”
Wedding Dresses With Sleeves
2019 sees the return of classic cuts and simple fabrics with strapless wedding dresses losing their appeal.
In fact, all brides getting married next year will be wearing gowns with sleeves.
Taking inspiration from Megan Markle’s luminuous long-sleeved, boat-necked Givenchy wedding gown, 2019 wedding dresses will move towards a pared-back bridal silhouette.
Simple Wedding Dresses
As part of the “Megan Markle effect”, bridal designers have predicted a return to refined minimalism, with HalfPenny London’s 1990s-inspired slips, Sassi Holford’s sleek columns and Cymbeline’s unfussy tulle skirts.
2019 Wedding Music Trends
Movie Soundtracks For Your Wedding
Music HQ, who specialize in booking live music for weddings and events across the UK, predict movie soundtracks are going to be a big thing in terms of 2019 wedding entertainment.
Speaking about the wedding music trends for 2019, company director Suzanne Aston said: “The Greatest Showman has been so popular this year and we’re already getting requests for next year in for our artists to perform songs from the film“.
2019 Wedding Entertainment Trends
Unusual Wedding Entertainment
With the wedding photo-booth way overdone, couples are now looking for new and unusual ways to entertain guests.
Why not book a tarot card reader or a caricaturist to keep your wedding guests entertained?
Harpists Or Pianists For Your Wedding
More people are choosing to party later and later at their wedding so the trend of wedding wind down music for an hour after the main party is sure to become a thing in 2019.
Nothing is more angelic and calming than the sound of a harp playing or why not book a pianist to bring all your wedding guests together for a sing-song at the end of your big day.
2019 Wedding Decor and Styling Trends
Coloured Wedding Decor
Moving away from conventional whites and creams, reds, pinks and even oranges are set to take a starring role in everything from floral arrangements to bridesmaid dresses.
We’re seeing more and more couples forgoing the classic white decor and instead embracing bright colours and a bold aesthetic in their wedding decor.
Too much white at a wedding can look a little clinical and embracing soft shades of nude, blush and blue offer pretty alternatives to classic white.
Plastic-free Wedding Decorations
Sustainability is more than just a fashion trend and the wedding industry is taking notice, switching from the likes of plastic straws to paper and glass alternatives.
It helps that linen napkins and glass straws looks much chicer than their plastic counterparts.
Following in the footsteps of Princess Eugenie, brides-to-be are thinking more about the planet while planning their big day and choosing to go plastic-free when possible.
Expect a rise in eco-friendly weddings in 2019, featuring flowers that can be replanted, organic menus and minimal plastic.
2019 Wedding Makeup Trends
Brides Wearing Red Lipstick
The classic matte red lip for brides is back – pair with strong brows to create a really defined look.
“The key is to pick the right shade for your skin tone,” says make-up artist Sasha Louise Pallari.
“A classic pillar-box red is great for a glam look – my all-time favourite is Charlotte Tilbury’s Bond Girl, a beautiful matte that seems to suit any colouring.
“Always use a lip primer to start – apply it like a balm and leave for a few minutes. Once it’s gone tacky, apply the lipstick. With a good primer, you shouldn’t even need to reapply throughout the day.
“Lastly, always apply your lipstick before your liner. Once the base layer’s on, use tiny dash-like motions to define the lip line. Then use a little concealer on a flat brush to clean the edges for the perfect red pout.”
Super Natural Makeup on your Wedding Day
Show off your bridal glow with barely-there, minimal make-up. The key is all in the prep, so be sure to up your skincare routine around six weeks before the big day.
“It’s vital to prep the skin every night to get rid of the toxins that build up over the course of each day,” says Jurlique’s beauty expert Claire Roberts.
“Introduce an exfoliating cream into your routine to slough away dead skin and try a serum, too. The Jurlique Herbal Recovery Serum is a wonder product that targets fine lines and firms the skin’s surface – leaving it energised and make-up ready.”
Brides Wearing Metallic Eye Makeup
From silver cat eyes at Reem Acra to light-catching foil nails at Naeem Khan, up the big-day drama with mixed metals at your 2019 wedding.
Metallics make a great alternative to nude, without being over the top. Keep the rest of your bridal make-up wedding-classic, then try a hint of glittery liner or sheer polish.
2019 Wedding Hair Trends
Wedding Hair with Flowers
Whether you fasten tiny blooms into your curls, weave fresh flowers into waves or go all-out with a flower crown, there’s something oh-so effortless yet striking about floral headpieces.
It’s a look that suits hair worn up or down – just be sure to keep the rest of your face fresh and simple.
Braided Wedding Hairstyles
Spotted behind the scenes at Berta, Cymbeline and Suzanne Neville, bridal braids and plaits reigned supreme at the 2019 shows.
For an edgy yet pretty swept-back style, switch it up à la Berta and opt for a dramatic plaited parting.
Wavy and Loose Wedding Hair
Channel your inner mermaid at your 2019 wedding with the new season’s penchant for heavenly waves, as seen on the Monique Lhuillier, Pronovias and Maggie Sottero runways.
If it’s a less ‘done’ look you’re hoping to achieve, go with the flow of your natural texture and create a loose up-do with trailing tendrils.
Think Meghan Markle’s wispy big-day bun and you’re on to a winner…
2019 Wedding Flower Trends
Nude and Pastel Wedding Plowers
With couples throwing wedding traditions out the door, pale pink, blush and taupe flowers are increasingly replacing classic white blooms as a bride’s wedding flower of choice.
Fragrant garden roses, stocks and sweet peas (in whimsical and rustic shades) are some of the most popular summer blooms set to appear in a big way next year.
Peony Bouquets
The peony is a timeless wedding flower that’s always a popular bouquet choice, so you can expect to see lots of these in 2019, too.
As a very versatile flower, peonies can be crafted into bouquets that suit any style of wedding, from very formal affairs to rustic garden parties.
However, as the peony season begins in April/May and only runs through to late June, their availability is limited.
If you have an early summer wedding and your heart set on peonies then you will be able to get your hands on them.
But if your wedding is later in the year, then beautiful alternatives to peonies include garden roses (for summer), dahlias (for late summer) or ranunculus (for winter and spring).
2019 Wedding Food Trends
Sharing Platters
Food trucks have had their moment but couples are still looking for laidback ways to offer simple tasty food.
Sharing plates and farm-to-fork concepts are both proving popular for 2019 weddings. As is the rise in dessert tables.
Edible Wedding Favours
Take-home bites have quickly become a popular choice for bride and grooms because it’s the couple’s chance to make it their own.
If you’re looking for a DIY project for your big day then jam, jelly or chutney is easy to make and can be enjoyed by your guests long after the big day is over. Choose some rustic-looking fabric to cover the top and you’ll be receiving compliments for weeks!
And if you’re having a winter wedding, why not package up a childhood favourite for your edible wedding favours – marshmallows. This is an especially perfect parting gift if your after-party includes a fire pit.
Or if you’re a keen baker, you might even want to make some cute cookies or biscuits with iced names on them yourself, that can double up as place-cards.
Late-night Wedding Food
While late-night wedding food is nothing new at wedding receptions, 2019 wedding food trends include more sophisticated and personal requests.
The typical late-night wedding snacks of pizza and miniature fish and chips are being replaced with unique eats that reflect the couple’s favourite comfort foods.
2019 Wedding Cake Trends
Cheese Wedding Cakes
Gone are the days when a three tiered iced fruit cake is the wedding cake du jour – it’s all about getting creative with your wedding cake.
Cheese towers laden with preserves, artisan bread and charcoal crackers are going to be a big thing in 2019.

One of my favourite things is giving the gift of self care with nourishing, good-for-you products. Here are some beautiful packs for the hair, face and body from brands that I use, trust and recommend. First of is the @jurlique Hydrating Rose Pack ($60 @davidjonesstore ) which contains a handcream and lip balm. Then we have this pack from @bhavehair ($1 available from hairdressers nationwide) which contains three full sized products. For the face we have a pack from @thejojobaco this one is coming soon but @pricelineau has lots of options from this brand. For the body rosehip is a great option. From @essano_beauty the body bliss pack is currently $13.99 from @pricelineau while the @trilogyproducts is also available from $20.99! #christmas #holidays #beauty #skincare #christmas2018 #giftgiving #giftguide #makeup #jojoba #oil #skin #beautyblogger #beautypr — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2QLL7Uo

Add These to Your Bedroom For Your Best Sleep Ever
Getting, give or take, eight hours of great sleep per night is fundamental to leading a healthy life - but how many of us are actually achieving this elusive goal? Whiling away your hours of beauty sleep tossing and turning in bed can take a massive toll on every area of your life - but all hope is not lost. We’ve rounded up our favourite sleep aides that have made nodding off (and staying asleep) a cinch. Whether you’re a seasoned insomniac or just want to improve the quality of your shut-eye, these are the goods your bedroom needs for your best night of sleep yet.
SILKY SOFT
Swap out your old cotton pillowcases for some silken beauties - trust us, you’ll never look back. Beauty editors and models alike swear by them for frizz-free strands and for preventing wrinkles, as well as avoiding the dreaded “I’ve just woken up” face pillow creases (we speak from personal experience). Our pick? We’re big fans of Slip’s Silk Pillowcases, available in a kaleidoscope of pretty hues (we are particularly partial to this baby pink version), and Go-To’s adorably cheeky Face Case. Don a matching silk eye mask and sink into a blissful slumber - your hair and skin will thank you.
LUXURIATE WITH LAVENDER
Your pre-bedtime relaxation now starts the minute you step out of the shower, with Weleda’s Lavender Relaxing Oil. It envelopes the skin with the most heavenly scent of lavender, which is why we tend to make a beeline for it to help unwind after a particularly taxing day. It also hydrates like a dream, so you’ll wake up the next morning with beautifully soft limbs. Oh, and if you’re scared of greasy body oils, never fear - this one sinks in almost immediately, so you can get snuggled in your PJs ASAP. For the (facial) skincare obsessed, may we suggest Dermalogica’s Sound Sleep Cocoon: another lavender-scented beauty that brightens and softens the complexion, for better skin by the morning.
MIST MAGIC
Spritz yourself into a slumber with a relaxing mist, to help craft the ideal environment for a restful night’s sleep. We like to mist a few sprays of the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray or Jurlique’s Calming Blend Aromatherapy Mist on our pillow and bed linen - they just make drifting off a dream (excuse the pun). Or opt for full-body bliss with Salt By Hendrix’s Flowers In Your Dreams spray - designed for use as a perfume, it not only smells sleep-inducingly divine, but also helps hydrate your skin and hair, so you can get wonderful beauty sleep (literally).
SIP YOURSELF SLEEPY
There’s something so soothing about a bedtime cup of tea at the end of a long, tiring day - we bet just thinking about it makes your shoulders sink a good few inches. So why not plump for a cuppa packed with slumber-inducing ingredients, like the Pukka Herbs Night Time Tea? A dreamy blend of oat flower, lavender, valerian and lime flower, it will have even the most frazzled amongst us nodding off in no time (and it tastes great, too).
THE BARE ESSENTIALS
Got a problem? There’s probably an essential oil out there that can help solve it. Luckily for those of us that find getting to sleep a struggle, there’s a whole host of oils that, either blended or singularly, will get you dozing off in no time. Our favourite prods come courtesy of Arbonne, Jurlique, Natio and Black Chicken; pop a few drops in an vaporiser for sweet dreams all night long.

5 From Jurlique
Jurlique Activating Water Essence I discovered this product last year and it was the first Essence I had tried. I’d heard using an Essence was a very popular step in Asian skincare routines but was dubious as to whether I needed to add another step to my already quite rigorous regime. After using it for a while I realised that it was that perfect step for refreshing and hydrating your skin before…

Evangeline’s Edition: Current Favourite Products
I’m always trying beauty products, and as a result, I’m often asked what my favourite products are, so here I’m bringing you “Evangeline’s Edition”, a round up of the current products that I’m obsessed with and give my tick of approval.
SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Wash
As someone with sensitive skin I have to be especially cautious about the body care products I use, body wash in particular. Although not the most glamorous beauty product, it is one that’s a daily essential. The SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Wash is my current go-to body wash and product of choice that constantly remains in my shower. With a soft, “clean” scent, it gently cleanses the skin without any irritation and leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated. Enriched with Shea Butter and free of harsh ingredients like sulphates, it’s such a nourishing formula that one could even forgo the body lotion. Somehow this amazing formula even manages to leave beautiful, subtle glossy glow to the shoulders and legs.
Yes To SnapStick Charcoal Face Mask
It’s not very often that I get this excited about a product (especially since I try so many) but the Yes To Tomatoes SnapStick mask is easily one of my favourite beauty launches of 2018. Packaged in an easy to use stick, this charcoal face mask can be applied in just 60 seconds without any mess (no messy fingers or face mask brushes needed) the mask dries within 10 minutes, deeply cleansing and helping to draw out impurities from the skin. It has quickly become a must-have in my skincare routine and a part of my weekly ritual. With a face mask this easy to use available there really is no excuse not to give your skin a bit of a treat, it’s so foolproof you could even apply it without a mirror.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter
On days when I can’t be bothered with a full face of makeup, but still want to give my skin a little pick me up I tend to reach for a light reflecting, illuminating primer (Laura Mercier Radiance Primer is my ultimate fave) Recently I’ve been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter which rides the line between an illuminating primer and a tinted moisturiser. The formula contains high amounts of ultra-fine, pearlescent shimmers which give a really beautiful ethereal, lilt-within look which is subtle enough to be worn all over the face. It smooths and blends over the skin with absolute ease, blurs imperfections, and hydrates without looking greasy or overly shimmery. Use it as a primer, a highlighter, or mixed in with foundation (this plus the Magic Foundation is a dream combination)
Lanolips Hydrating Lip Luminiser
Lanolips have long been a favourite brand of mine when it comes to lip care. A cult Aussie fave (both in Australia and around the world) the medical grade lanolin range of lip products (and now skincare) does a fantastic job at protecting and nourishing. The Lanolips Lip Luminisers are a new addition to the brand and one that I’m absolutely loving. I’ve long been a fan of the Tinted Balms with SPF, and these are definitely a great addition to the range. Consisting of two shades (Beach Pop and Desert Glow) these sheer tinted lip balms are loaded with beautiful iridescent shimmer which catches the light, giving a plump effect and making the lips look larger. Ultra hydrating, nourishing, and creamy a mix of plant oils and lanolin glide over the lips and leave them with a glossy finish. Try them as a highlighter on the cheekbones or on the cheeks for a gorgeous glossy, shimmer-packed glow.
Jurlique Nail and Cuticle Treatment Oil
For many years I neglected my nails, but in the past few I’ve become just a little bit obsessed with nail care. Beautiful, well-groomed, healthy nails that extend just past the fingertips in an oval shape make me swoon. Although I don’t necessarily tend to experiment much (nude nail polish is more my thing) I’m adamant on having healthy nails. Each night I apply cuticle oil onto my nails & cuticles for optimal nail health. My current go-to is the Jurlique Nail and Cuticle Treatment Oil. An ultra rich and decadent formula, the oil has the most beautiful botanical scent, much like a luxurious hand lotion. With over 5 oils and a range of natural extracts, the oil is so concentrated it resembles a balm of sorts when first applied, acting as a barrier as the ingredients work to deeply nourish nails and cuticles. From the first use it soothes inflamed cuticles and hydrates the nails, and for those who regularly wear gel nails, it even helps to treat fixing peeling, cracking, ridges, and brittleness.

Feel-good buys the experts adore
Do you ever reach for a calming bath oil or reviving lotion to soothe away stresses or lift flagging spirits? From 11-16th June 2018, the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA) will be launching Aromatherapy Awareness Week – an annual campaign that aims ‘to raise awareness of the benefits of aromatherapy’.
As fragrance fanatics, we’re always surrounding ourselves with beautifully scented things, but wondered what aromatherapy-inspired products some of our favourite fragrance experts and bloggers liked to use…
Liz Earle, Founder, Liz Earle Wellbeing: ‘My long-term favourite is Aromatherapy Associates Revive Bath Oil, a delicious blend of neroli, sandalwood and patchouli. I was given my first bottle by their founder, Geraldine Howard, who I used to see for aromatherapy treatments when I was pregnant with Lily (now aged 27!) and who encouraged me to write my very first book, Vital Oils. She sadly died a couple of years ago, but I’m reminded of happier, less complicated times and her talented, gentle care every time I smell it. My newest fave is Ren’s & Now To Sleep Pillow Spray, an up-date on the classic lavender-only sleeping spritzes as it combines traditional lavender with hops to relax and frankincense to still the mind. It’s a fabulous sleep-inducing combination and I have become quite addicted.’
Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil £48 for 50ml
aromatherapyassociates.com
James Craven, Fragrance Archivist at Les Senteurs: ‘What else but OLVERUM bath oil? Of German origin and a best-seller for over 80 years, OLVERUM has always been a firm favourite of mine. It has the most amazing holistic healing magic: a little dash and I sleep like an angel and awake restored. Relaxing at night, a reviving tonic in the morning, OLVERUM is kind to the skin and helps to clear and stimulate a stuffy head or sluggish brain. A little gift to oneself.’
Olverum Bath Oil £29 for 125ml olverum.com
Thomas Dunkley, a.k.a. The Candy Perfume Boy: ‘I adore a shower – honestly, I could spend hours under warm water and hot steam, so it makes complete sense that my favouite aromatherapy product is the Neal’s Yard English Lavender Bath & Shower Gel. The soothing scent of lavender mixed with shower steam is the most soothing, calming thing after a stressful day. Just what one needs!’
Neal’s Yard English Lavender Bath & Shower Gel £11 for 200ml nealsyardremedies.com
Jo Fairley, Co-Founder of The Perfume Society: ‘For me it has to be Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil. I genuinely feel like I’ve been coshed over the head – in the nicest possible way! – when I use this. My head goes ker-thump when it hits the pillow, and I know I’m guaranteed a great night’s sleep. What’s more, it honestly scents the entire house with wafts of sandalwood, camomile and vetiver, so while it’s quite pricey, I think it’s actually good value.’
Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil £49 for 55ml aromatherapyassociates.com
Dariush Alavi, a.k.a. Persolaise: ‘Although aromatherapy isn’t a prominent blip on my scented radar, I confess there is one product that is never out of my eyeline: the Altitude Oil from De Mamiel. Originally designed to counteract the stultifying effects of air travel, it’s one of the most effective – and exuberant – cloud-banishers I’ve ever encountered. Lavender, pine, peppermint, eucalyptus, patchouli and a whole load of other wonder-oils come together to lift your spirits, widen your eyes and give you the tranquillity to face the day with a smile. Magic!’
De Mamiel Altitude Oil £28 for 10ml oil demamiel.com
Samantha Scriven, a.k.a. I Scent You a Day: ‘I definitely find the right scent can calm me down and it almost always goes back to the smells of Mother Nature. I currently carry round a little roll on fragrance from Our Modern Lives by Sarah McCartney. It’s called Yellow Sunrise Hope and I roll it on my pulse points to give me a moment of head space. It evokes an al fresco breakfast with fresh orange juice, sunshine and bunch of daffodils. It is the absolute polar opposite of the usual noisy, chaotic breakfast times in my house. It helps me escape for a few minutes, and those minutes are precious.’
Our Modern Lives Yellow Sunrise Hope £30 for 10ml roll-on 4160tuesdays.com
Marcus Jaye, a.k.a. The Chic Geek: ‘Can I say Aveda’s Shampure? That smell is just pure calm and puts me in that spa/zen state, even if only for those two minutes it takes to wash my hair.’
Aveda Shampure £14.50 for 250ml aveda.co.uk
Maria Angelidou, a.k.a. Greek Goddess London: ‘I joined the “aromatherapy inspired” products bandwagon quite late, but I realised that I was using them anyway to scent my home and help me relax. I was using Jurlique‘s Calming Blend Aromatherapy Mist with lavender and grapefruit for quite some time on myself plus my bedding, but lately I got a diffuser; the Sterline Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser. It’s quite compact but diffuses the oils I choose beautifully and the changing colours relax me (and my husband who demands we switch it on every evening) a lot…’
Jurlique Calming Blend Aromatherapy Mist £15 for 50ml jurlique.co.uk
Sterline Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser £11.50 amazon.co.uk
Stephan Matthews: ‘I’ve always loved the opening hit of rosemary in Clarins Eau Dynamisante and then the mouthwatering orange and Amalfi lemon that immediately follows. It is “summertime” to me, which is why there’s a bottle at the front door, a bottle at the back door, a bottle in the summerhouse and a bottle in my travel bag! Some would call it an addiction but I find that it invigorates and uplifts me, which is one of the best aromatherapy traditions.
Clarins Eau Dynamistante £50 for 200ml spray clarins.co.uk

GLAMOUR's 14 Day Skin Detox Challenge - DAY 14

GLAMOUR's 14 Day Skin Detox Challenge - DAY 14
Well hello there – aren’t you glowing! Congratulations, you’ve made it to the final day of the Glamour 14 Day Skin Detox Challenge.
Sad to see the end? Don’t worry, you can always come back and begin the detox again any time your skin needs some extra love and care. But for now, here’s the instructions for Day 14 – enjoy!
P.S. Don’t forget to share your end results with us using #GlamourSkinDetox.
DAY 14: It’s glow time
TODAY’S RECIPE
Rosey Glow Latte | SERVES ONE
Beetroot powder is high in vitamin A and C to promote blood circulation and give you lasting energy, without caffeine.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup macadamia milk 1 tsp Glow Bar Super Glowy (£25) 1 tsp beetroot powder 1/2 tsp rose water 1 tsp strawberry powder
METHOD
Heat milk on the stove or using an electric milk frother
Add Super Glowly, beetroot powder, rose water and strawberry water to a mug
Pour a little hot water into the mug and stir to combine
Top with the hot macadamia milk and give one last whisk
TODAY’S ROUTINE
Remove all of your makeup using micellar water.
Cleanse using a gentle cream or gel cleanser – we love Ultra Facial Cleanser £16.50 Kiehls. Its moisturising formula is ideal for the winter months.
Now it’s time for a radiance boosting face mask. We’re currently obsessed with Flavanode Mud £29 Niod – beware it has a temporary stinging sensation once you wash it off, but the glow you see the next day is seriously impressive. It’s a strong performing product so limit your use to just once a week or for special occasions.
Follow with a soothing serum, and remember to keep an eye out for vitamin C in the ingredients list if you really want to amp up the brightness. Super Glow serum £24 Glossier is a current favourite.
Gently pat in an eye cream to brighten any dark circles. Premier Cru The Eye Cream £49 Caudalie works wonders and also helps with any puffiness.
Finish by massaging in a moisturising night cream using (you guessed it) upward motions, here are our top picks.
Hero product: Flavanode Mud £29 Niod
TODAY’S DETOX TASK
Find a facial mist that’s right for you
When your foundation begins to crack or settle throughout the day, a mist can be an instant glow refresher.
To use a facial mist, close your eyes and lightly spritz across your face, holding it a short distance away to allow it to settle evenly. Use the tips of your fingers to gently pat into areas where your foundation has settled or become dry if needed. Try the Rosewater Balancing Mist) £18 Jurlique, which smells amazing (think fresh, uplifting roses rather than powdery). Or if you really want to amp up that glow, give Plump & Glow Hydrating Mist £36 Emma Hardie a go – it contains tiny gold pigments to really boost the skin’s luminosity.
Our skin detox is a two-week plan that’s all about resetting, renewing and taking care of your skin both from the inside and out. It’s based on advice from dermatologists, nutritionists, dieticians, facialists and product developers.
Each day features a skin-boosting recipe, routine recommendations and tiny tasks to set yourself on the path to great skin. You can start the detox at any time and find the full instructions here. Share your journey with us using the hashtag #GlamourSkinDetox.
