I think that Father Of All… would’ve probably been considered a really good album if it was anyone BUT Green Day’s album. Seemed kinda foreshadowed by Green Day’s own legacy, it was a catchy album. Were this a new band we’d have been talking about how cool the dance punk vibe was. Or maybe we weren’t yet that into ‘new rock’. A lot of that seemed to happen through and after the pandemic.

#For context this dropped Feb 2020. At this point in punky guitar music it was #Songs of Praise - Shame Jan 2018 #Dogrel Fontaines D.C. April 2019 #IDLES - Brutalism 2017; Joy as an Act of Resistance 2018 #Amyl self titled - May 2019 #So little of what would become that guitar punk/post punk culture again…#maybe if it came out 3 years later it would’ve been received differently?#Then again I do kinda (want to?) believe that they did it (26 mins!) just to piss Warner off.
