Byrd: Dad? Oscar: Morning, bud.. miserable day, huh? I’m not looking forward to packing up in the rain. Oscar: Did you sleep okay? Byrd: Erm… Oscar: GO GET YOUR HEARING AIDS! [Byrd fidgeted guilty, implying that he’d lost yet another pair] Byrd: [sobs] Why do I have to be deaf without them, papa-.. s’not fair. [Oscar held Byrd tightly, stroking his back until his sobs subsided somewhat] Oscar: LET’S SEE WHAT WE CAN DO… [Oscar plonked Byrd outside as he rummaged through his bags, eventually producing a backup pair of hearing aids] Oscar: Better? [Byrd nodded gratefully, burying his snotty nose in his father’s hair as he threw his arms around him] Oscar: Maybe you ought to think twice about learning SSL. Byrd: What’s the point? No one else knows it. Oscar: Robin does, and we all know bits n’ pieces, don’t we? [Byrd grumbled disinterestedly] Oscar: I think it’s long overdue, pal-.. what if we all learn it together? Properly this time. Byrd: I guess… Oscar: All I heard was yes. Byrd: Are you deaf too? Oscar: [snorts] C’mon, we’ll probably find the other pairs as we clear up. Wren: Daaaaad, it’s raining! Oscar: The faster we get goin’, the faster we’ll be in the car-.. I bet Wren can pack up faster than you. Byrd: [gasps] NO WAY! [rain pattering]

grrr.... my boss came in and asked to talk to me for a moment and basically she was asking how I distinguish between production stock/my stock bc the stock/supply staff had insinuated to her that I'd been stealing their stock which I HAVEN'T!!!! I would never + my boss knows that but she still had to ask.... so annoying
#and i have PROOF i dont steal their shit bc i keep a meticulous spreadsheet of every sample in the food lab (my) stock#and i organise everything by location + have a separate section for stuff in the cold room that belongs to production#bc part of my job is managing emails from sales/marketing asking abt the production stock for test/developmental products#so i have to monitor it. but i dont ever ise those samples i fill out and email the request form to supply if i need one for smth!!!#*use#which supply would fucking know if they were competent at their jobs and fulfilled my requests without me chasing them up 16 times#half the time i have to go to quality control and request THEIR retained samples instead bc i dont get stuff in time#but qc stock is completely isolated from production bc its for assay use only and i always return the samples to them when im done anyway#the only reason theyre accusing me is bc they found a sample in one of my fridges that was logged on their stock system#but I DIDNT PUT IT THERE. THEY DID. i sent the fucking request form and they fulfilled it but didnt log it out of their own stock system#but i have their stupid form attached to a timestamped email i sent them so proof it was a legit request they fulfilled 👍#whatever......#im mainly just annoyed bc for some reason i thought it was almost 4pm and i could go home soon. but its only 2:30 sigh#at least my boss was impressed at my stock spreadsheet lmao she was like wow i didnt realise you were this organised#girl how do u think i respond so fast when u ask if we have xyz sample. of course im not going thru 400+ individual samples in multiple-#locations and boxes/fridges every single time just to find ONE thing. all i have to do is check my spreadsheet.....#i record batch numbers n manufacture/expiry dates of everything too they can go thru it if they doubt smth is mine lmao#i hate being blamed for shit i didnt do especially accusations of dishonesty. im not that shit at my job >:^/#.diaries

Remember when games used to include an optional download for HD textures because 1080p was new but the developer still wanted people to have an option to used higher res textures if they had a 1080p display? We should go back to that but with 4K textures being the separate and optional download.
If you don't have a 4K display, there's not really a reason to have gigabytes worth of 4K textures on your HDD/SSD and it needlessly slows down your ability to play the game.
if your game needs 150 gigabytes of my hard drive it better come out the computer and suck me off. i hate you
#but bloated storage requirements are another symptom of companies not caring about optimisation#and expecting consumers to have/buy hardware to compensate for the lack of optimisation on their end#see it a lot with ram and vram and how common memory leaks are now#especially now that they don't have to care about physical storage limits there's less concern about game size or compressing files#before they had to pay for the physical storage so the bigger the files the more they'd have to spend on printing physical storage#plus dealing with losing sales because the more disks a game had the fewer would be inclined to buy it#oh yeah and assuming everyone has fast internet and no caps so it shouldn't be a big deal if a game is massive#see that assumption come up every time always online/call home drm is brought up by people who live in a major city and have unlimited fibr#then whoops what do you mean rural internet is different and a number of console owners chose console#*because* they had slow/unreliable/no internet but still wanted to play video games

Tips for Pricing Your Home Right in Mesa County, Colorado
Pricing a home accurately is crucial for a successful sale, particularly in the dynamic real estate market of Mesa County, Colorado. Setting the right price not only attracts potential buyers but also ensures you get the best possible return on your investment. Overpricing or underpricing can lead to extended market time or missed opportunities. This comprehensive guide provides essential tips for pricing your home correctly to facilitate a smooth and effective sale.
1. Understand the Local Market
1.1. Conduct Market Research
Before setting a price for your home, it’s vital to understand the local real estate market. Mesa County’s housing market can be influenced by various factors, including economic conditions, housing inventory, and seasonal trends.
Market Trends: Research current market trends in Mesa County, including average home prices, days on the market, and recent sales data. Websites like Zillow, Realtor, and local real estate listings can provide valuable insights.
Neighborhood Analysis: Look at the sales prices of comparable homes in your neighborhood. This will help you gauge where your property stands in comparison to similar properties in terms of price and features.
1.2. Consult a Real Estate Agent
A local real estate agent has in-depth knowledge of the Mesa County market and can provide a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA). A CMA evaluates your home against recently sold properties with similar characteristics, giving you a clearer understanding of a competitive price range.
Expert Insights: An experienced agent can offer professional advice on how market conditions might affect your pricing strategy and provide recommendations based on current buyer demand.
2. Evaluate Your Home’s Unique Features
2.1. Assess Home Condition and Upgrades
The condition of your home and any recent upgrades play a significant role in determining its value.
Repairs and Improvements: Consider the quality of repairs and upgrades you've made. High-quality renovations, such as modernized kitchens or updated bathrooms, can increase your home’s value.
Unique Features: Highlight unique features or amenities such as a finished basement, a home office, or energy-efficient systems. These can differentiate your property and potentially justify a higher price.
2.2. Consider Home Size and Layout
The size and layout of your home are key factors in pricing. Larger homes or those with more desirable layouts often command higher prices.
Square Footage: Compare your home’s square footage to similar properties in the area. Homes with more space or functional layouts may be valued higher.
Room Count and Configuration: Evaluate the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and overall layout. A home with a flexible layout or additional rooms might appeal to a broader range of buyers.
3. Price Competitively
3.1. Set a Realistic Asking Price
Setting a realistic asking price is essential to attract potential buyers and avoid prolonged market time.
Avoid Overpricing: Overpricing can lead to your home sitting on the market for an extended period, which may result in price reductions or an eventual sale below market value.
Competitive Pricing: Price your home competitively within the range suggested by the CMA. A well-priced home can generate interest quickly and potentially lead to multiple offers.
3.2. Consider Psychological Pricing
Psychological pricing strategies can make your home more appealing to buyers.
Price Just Below a Round Number: For example, pricing your home at $299,000 instead of $300,000 can make it seem like a better value to buyers.
Incentives: Consider offering incentives such as covering closing costs or including appliances to make your home more attractive without altering the price significantly.
4. Account for Market Conditions
4.1. Adjust for Seasonal Trends
Real estate markets often experience seasonal fluctuations. Pricing strategies should account for these trends to optimize your sale.
Seasonal Demand: In Mesa County, spring and summer are typically active seasons for real estate, with higher buyer demand. Pricing your home competitively during these times can result in a quicker sale.
Market Conditions: If the market is experiencing a downturn or there is an oversupply of homes, you might need to adjust your pricing strategy to remain competitive.
4.2. Monitor Economic Indicators
Economic factors, such as interest rates and local employment rates, can impact housing prices.
Interest Rates: Lower interest rates can increase buyer purchasing power, potentially allowing you to price your home slightly higher. Conversely, higher rates might necessitate a more competitive price.
Local Economy: Stay informed about the local economy and its effects on the housing market. A strong local economy can support higher home prices, while economic uncertainty might require a more conservative pricing approach.
5. Test the Market
5.1. Price Adjustments
If your home is not attracting the desired level of interest or offers, consider adjusting the price based on feedback and market response.
Monitor Interest: Track the number of showings, inquiries, and feedback from potential buyers. If activity is low, a price adjustment might be necessary.
Market Feedback: Pay attention to feedback from showings and open houses. Negative feedback related to price or perceived value can provide clues for necessary adjustments.
5.2. Professional Advice
Consulting with your real estate agent during the process can help you make informed decisions about price adjustments.
Ongoing Evaluation: Regularly review market conditions and buyer feedback with your agent to determine if a price adjustment is warranted. An experienced agent can help you navigate this process effectively.
6. Highlighting Your Home’s Value
6.1. Effective Marketing
Once you’ve set the right price, effective marketing can help showcase your home’s value and attract potential buyers.
High-Quality Photos: Invest in professional photography to capture your home’s best features and create a compelling online listing.
Detailed Listing Description: Write a detailed and engaging description of your home, highlighting its unique features, recent upgrades, and neighborhood amenities.
6.2. Online and Offline Promotion
Promote your home through multiple channels to reach a broad audience.
Online Listings: Utilize major real estate websites and social media platforms to increase visibility.
Open Houses: Host open houses to allow potential buyers to view your home in person and experience its features firsthand.

we just don't put the kids in anything we don't want caked in mud/grass/etc. when we go outside to play. Super easy to just keep a bunch of outdoor play clothes that can get absolutely wrecked on hand (majority of their outfits tbh), and keep the really cute/sentimental stuff for like indoor outings like the children's museum or so on. and yeah there are also totally skirts that are plain outdoor things to be muddied up just as much as pants. any clothes can be destroy-able as long as you think they're kinda bland/ugly and they're also decently durable for rough-housing around.
My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"
And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."
Anyway something something gender roles start getting shoved on kids from literal birth, but with a little time to think about things, YOU TOO can let your children of any gender absolutely destroy their clothes in the dirt pit they're digging in your garden
#also kids under 10 grow so fast it's crazy. any clothing you buy is not going to fit for long anyway#and in just a few years it's going to be put out in a garage sale / donated / cut up for a quilt#with only a rare few outfits getting packed away in the keepsakes box#and yeah our boys also have cute little outfits we save for indoor time too#and it's also not wrong to impress upon kids to 'please try not to get your fancy outfits all dirty'#like if you took them to a wedding and they make a beeline for a big oily puddle in the parking lot#it's totally fine to steer them away and say 'no no. not in our nice clothes. we need to keep them clean for the party.'#but the important thing is to not put them in the fancy stuff to like go to the park or something.#and if you do go somewhere that might have outdoor play. like a family reunion where nicer outfits are expected but also backyard...#then it's also very simple. bring a change of clothes for outdoor play#actually everyone w/kids should bring extra outfits around just as a precaution#for when your kid spills an entire cup of juice down their shirt and its soaks their entire outfit. or any number of similar things#also when i say 'indoor play' i don't mean like inside our own home. because our home is filled w/juice and markers and shit#i mean like an outing that is going to be somewhere w/low risk of mess like the museum or library#playing in the house can absolutely be messy time and i wouldn't want to put the pressure of 'keep this clean' on the daily in our own home
