Cuando Guy (FARLEY GRANGER) coincide con BRUNO ANTHONY (ROBERT WALKER) durante un trayecto en TREN, poco puede sospechar que las TEORIAS sobre el ASESINATO PERFECTO de este siniestro personaje van a ser puestas a prueba. BRUNO le sugiere que intercambien asesinatos, Guy debe matar al padre de Bruno, al que odia sin medida, y Bruno se encargará de liquidar a MIRIAM, la pesadilla de Guy, que no le concede el divorcio para seguir aprovechándose de su fama como tenista y sin el cual no puede iniciar una nueva vida junto a Anne (RUTH ROMAN). Farley Earle Granger Jr. (1 de julio de 1925 - 27 de marzo de 2011) fue un actor estadounidense, mejor conocido por sus dos colaboraciones con el director Alfred Hitchcock: Rope en 1948 y Strangers on a Train en 1951. Granger fue visto por primera vez en una pequeña producción teatral en Hollywood por un director de casting de Goldwyn , y se le dio un papel significativo en The North Star, una película controvertida que elogia a la Unión Soviética en plena Guerra Mundial, pero más tarde condenada por su sesgo político. Otra película de guerra, The Purple Heart , siguió, antes del servicio naval de Granger en Honolulu , en una unidad que organizaba el entretenimiento de tropas en el Pacífico. Joseph Zito - The Prowler (1981) Joseph Zito only directed 9 films. However, at least 6 of them are stone-cold classics of cult cinema: Bloodrage, The Prowler, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Missing in Action, Invasion U.S.A. and Red Scorpion. No one would claim that any of these films make for great cinema, but they are all pretty enjoyable stuff, and make for an impressive CV indeed. The Prowler is no exception, entertaining stuff that has some originality to it but also enough genre tropes to be firmly in familiar territory. What makes the film pretty great are the production values in this. It looks really good with excellent cinematography by João Fernandes (of Deep Throat fame) and amazing special effects by Tom Savini, bringing the excellent gory killing scenes to a level of quality a step above his contemporaries. As an added bonus you get an aging film star here, Farley Granger of Hitchcock (Rope, Strangers on a Train) and Visconti (Senso) fame as one of the main characters. Storywise there isn't really much to say about this, there is an interesting backstory that we never really get into and a mysterious killer going around killing young people... because... his girlfriend betrayed him 30 something years ago. As motivations go it's pretty weak. However, it's cool to see he has the super power of summoning pitchforks from his ass or something as he suddenly has them with no indication of carrying them into the room at all. He must just scout out his killing scenes and strategically litter some pitchforks around for convenience some hours before the actual killing. Still, thoroughly enjoyable and great looking nonsense!
