Vilkas knows you're trying to get under his skin and hates how effective it is. Despite all his grumbling he's grown to enjoy the sweet little names only you're allowed to call him. There's nothing wrong with his name, of course - but it doesn't summon that fuzzy feeling all your terms of endearment do. "Vilkas?" You call again, clearly trying to get his attention. He grits his teeth and pointedly ignores you. Tidying his desk has suddenly become very interesting. "Sweetheart?" "Hm?" He finally grunts, feigning nonchalance despite the color in his cheeks. "Oh, now you can hear me." He ignores how smug you sound, continuing to shuffle through paperwork. "How interesting."

Farkas doesn't like that. "What? No baby? No honey? Did I do something wrong?" He drops the rag, half polished armor entirely forgotten as he turns toward you. "No, I'm not upset with you." You clarify, quelling his nerves. "Why so formal?" Farkas adores the sweet things you say to him - calling him your honey, your dearest, any reminder that he is yours. "Sorry, my love." You crack a smile when he reaches for you, grabbing your hand. "Didn't mean to worry you." "I'm sure you'll find a way to make it up to me." He sighs, doing a terrible job at hiding how much he enjoys all of your attention.

Brynjolf knows you're trying to bother him. He's seen that mischievous look in your eye before and weighs his options - what will be more fun? He could play into your little game and pretend to be upset by the lack of affection, or he could turn it around. The way he says your name is aloof, almost cold. He watches your eye twitch and your grin falter. It's terribly hard to stifle a laugh when you clear your throat and struggle to continue the conversation. Oh, he knows he's gotten under your skin. Brynjolf listens to your request for proper recruit assignments and agrees, biding his time before taking it one step further. When your annoyance begins to wane he begins calling you by your last name, thrilled at the color your face turns. "Bryn, what are you doing?" "Not so funny now, is it? Guild Master?"

Miraak swears that he will kill you both if you don't knock it off. He threatens to burn your entire village to the ground if you don't cease whatever prank you've decided to play on him. In front of others, he will stomach your cold detachment - calling him by his name or title in front of those damned Greybeards. He knows a thing or two about manners, after all. But in the privacy of your bedroom, he is your love. He is the one who relishes in all those silly terms of endearment only you are permitted to use. He stews over your laughter, refusing to give in even when your lips press to his skin. "You are not funny." He grumbles, though he does lean closer for more of your touch. "Perhaps this is what was prophesized - you will be the death of me after all."

Erandur worries that he's done something wrong. He thinks over your day, struggling to pinpoint what social blunder he could have made. He knows that he isn't completely up to date on modern social courtesies but you do not physically appear upset. "I'm sorry, my beloved." He offers, praying that you will educate him. "For what?" "For whatever I've done to upset you. Please tell me so that it can be made right." When you explain that it's a prank, a joke intended to gauge his reaction, Erandur smiles sheepishly and tucks away that information for later. He kisses your forehead, grateful that you are not upset with him.

Cicero is not a fan of that. His brows furrow, trying to figure you out. You only use his name when you call him your silly Cicero, your pretty Cicero... never just his name. His head tilts when he notes the pink in your cheeks and the attentive way you're watching him. "Listener." He ventures, eyes narrowing. "Are you pranking your Keeper?" "I am." "Oh!" Cicero's hands clap when he revels in your laugh. "Silly Listener, you are quite funny." "Not as funny as you, my love." He grins at the kiss you press to his cheek, absolutely giddy at your approval.

Teldryn is a bit taken aback - you've called him Tel for years. And now you're dropping his full name out of the blue? You've never been one for overly sweet terms of endearment but he likes the shortened version of his name you use. He removes his helmet and peers over, trying to figure you out. "What did I do to deserve this treatment?" "What treatment?" "The full government name." He's relieved when a laugh bursts out of you, pausing your trek to slap a hand on his shoulder. "Oh, Tel. You're too funny." He wants to chastise you, but the little pet name and the way you draw near to him is fairly distracting. "It was just a little prank." "A prank?" He snorts, indulging in a short kiss to your forehead. "You have too much time on your hands."

Henwen: *went on a complete rampage after finding out who his real father was and what he did to his mother, now ripping apart his tomb with his bare hands after freeing Kodlak from Hircines grasp* YOU!!! *grabs hold of the giant stone coffin and rips it open grabbing Ysgramors Draugrfied corpse* YOU RAPED MY MOTHER!! YOU ENSLAVED AND SLAUGHTERED MY PEOPLE! YOU LEARNED HOW TO WRITE JUST TO DOCUMENT THE BEST WAY TO KILL ELVES!!! *screams making the tomb shake and rumble, threatening to collapse on all of them*

Vilkas: Does that matter right now?! He’s going to bring the whole barrow down on our heads!

Farkas: IT DOES MATTER! *snarls at them* HES IN PAIN! THAT CUNT WE ALL FUCKING WORSHIPPED IS THE REASON FOR IT! YSGRAMOR IS NO HERO! HES A MONSTER!!! *looks over at Kaidan*

Kaidan: *nods*

Farkas and Kaidan: *both start slowly closing in ready to pounce on the enraged atmoran snow elf*

Henwen: *raising wuuthrad over his head, staring down at Ysgramors corpse as it’s eyes begin to glow blue, the Atmorans soul re-entering his body to fight* you. You don’t deserve to be remembered.

Ysgramor: *gargles with dried vocal cords as his body cracks and bends back to life in death* You- I remember your eyes.

Henwen: Good. They were my mothers. *moves to bring the axe down and freezes seeing two long swords stab into the draugr taking its head off in the process* what- I- *jumps a little as two strong bodies press against his, as Kaidan and farkas abandon their weapons to hold him* I…

Kaidan: shhhh. It’s okay now sweetheart… he can’t hurt you…

Farkas: *crying into his shoulder* I’m so sorry- I’m sorry for believing he was a hero, after what he did to you, to your mother, to your kin. I’m so sorry darling…

Henwen: *drops the axe letting it clang against the ancient stone floor, as he starts to openly sob* he raped her, he raped her and she made me, he killed her for giving me to Hross so I could be free, and he killed him too!! And now he gets to be remembered as a hero! It isn’t fair! IT ISNT FAIR!! *cries hugging onto them as they hold him tighter*

“Incredible,” Farkas echoed in agreement, though his attention was quick to abandon the swathes of phthalo-green forests below. Instead, he looked into the colour of apple trees, of envy. With gentle affection, Hithril rubbed unblended sun cream scum into the bridge of his prominent nose, unbothered by the sheen of sweat, unfazed by the raw heat of his skin.

Adventures into the thicketed heart of the wilderness was food for the soul – for man and beast both. Some nights, he donned his fur to sniff around the feet of his darling’s tower, prowling between steel legs that kissed the earth like roots. It was enough to know that she was safe, high above in her bird-nest, her look-out, roosting in a tree of man’s making. No harm would come to her when he stood as her grim sentinel. In that unholy shape, Farkas was horror enough to silence even the cicadas.

Well, a good boy deserves a treat.

Hithril laughed, silently, and Farkas grinned along, the expression unfortunately wolfish on his coarse features. If he had his tail, it would have wagged. For all her jest, he found there was something about the idea of a collar, fastened snug around his throat, that held some appeal – but that was a conversation to be had when they were breathless, lust-struck, their outlines punched into pillows. Not here, when they were bathed in crystalline mountain air and Hithril busied herself with preparing their picnic. The blanket became a table top for the spread, thoughtfully curated, carefully packed. Beyond its woollen borders, bees fussed over the sprinkling of flowers that grew. They paid the sweethearts no mind, and were immune to the summer heat despite the fuzz of their striped velvet coats. 

“Not to brag, but my recall is great. I’ll always come when you call me back.”

Farkas obediently took a seat, took the proffered jerky, and took a bite. It was delectable enough that he made a low sound of approval as he chewed, the grassy, gamey taste of prey animals balanced beautifully by the blend of spices. Meat assuaged a primal appetite, pleasing both the man and the beast in his blood.

“Damn, that’s good stuff. Your brother clearly knows what he’s doing.”

Rose - What is your OC's favourite form of self-care?

Sashi loves to keep himself clean, whether it’s making sure his fur is brushed or his armor stays fresh, his favorite form of self-care would be to take care of his basic hygiene needs. His ultimate favorite is when Farkas offers to brush him and adds in a free deep-tissue back rub to get the tension out of his muscles while he’s at it. He will run the comb through the thicker mats on Sashi’s cheeks and it’ll make Sashi purr feeling the knots come loose. It helps the wind blow through his fur more smoothly and feels so satisfying.

Poppy - How is your OC around strangers?

He is actually very friendly towards strangers. Sashi is of the belief that everyone deserves a chance at receiving his kindness and respect, and he allows them to keep it unless they give him a reason to treat them differently. He would defend an innocent soul to the death if they manage to earn his trust.

Darling Vilkas, who wields terms of endearment with both kindness and sarcasm. Who knows how to get under your skin or comfort you with just one word. "Oh darling, have you forgotten who trained you? More than anyone else, I know your limits." He would sneer, face flushed when he rounds on you after a disagreement. "My darling," Vilkas would whisper in the dead of night, when your hands are tangled in his hair and you can taste the wine on his breath. "My darling." He breathes just before kissing you, all worries melting away. Cicero is giddy at the idea of his Listener having special titles only he is permitted to use. Who spins you around the Sanctuary when your mood is low, showering you in kisses and praise until he sees the smile he loves so dearly. He would say it often, soft and full of love during a stolen moment alone or brashly in front of any new recruit whose eyes lingered a touch too long. "Oh, darling Listener." He would sigh, gazing at you with unabashed adoration. "Cicero loves you more than words can say."

Sweetheart Brynjolf, who says it with that crooked smile that never fails to melt your heart. Who murmurs the pet name when he finds you slumped behind the Guild Master's desk glaring at the rolls of parchment piled haphazardly before you. Brynjolf who scoops you into his arms, planting a kiss on your forehead and allowing you to grumble about your day. "Hold still, sweetheart." Brynjolf would breathe against your skin, clutching you to his chest as the manor's steward paces its hallways. Farkas, who cups your face so gently and speaks as if you are the only one in his world. Who calls you his sweetheart as he wipes the blood of fallen bandits from your cheeks and checks you for injuries. Who helps you out of your armor after a hard day, sinking into a warm bath and combing the hair away from your face. "You alright, sweetheart?" Farkas would call over the clashing of swords, needing an assurance that you haven't fallen.

My love/My beloved Miraak, whose voice drips with devotion when he calls out to you. That touch of reverence never fades from his tone, eyes softening when he stares at you. Miraak who attempts to cover the depth of his love with sarcasm but would fall to his knees for you if asked, who believes his unnaturally long life's only purpose is to adore you. "My beloved," that deep voice rumbles through his chest as he gazes up at you, ungloved hands twisted in your robes. "One whose soul speaks to mine." Erandur, who speaks tender words of love as a form of worship. Who sings your praises with every breath. Whether it's a retelling of his salvation to an enraptured crowd in some small tavern or against the skin of your thighs he devotes himself to you, the one he loves. "My love," he would murmur over and over, lavishing attention upon you. "My most beloved, you must take better care of yourself. I cannot imagine this world without you, my heart."

Fucker Teldryn, who slaps a hand on your thigh with his head thrown back in laughter. Your gut muscles ache and your voice is hoarse from hours of laughing at each other's stories but you never want such a night to end. Other patrons have stumbled off to bed and you're sure that Geldis is glaring daggers at the pair of you but Teldryn's easy laugh is far more intoxicating than the drinks forgotten on a nearby table. "Oh, you fucker." Teldryn would say, the affection clear in his voice. He drags your chair closer to his, allowing you a closer look at his flushed cheeks and sharp teeth. Arnbjorn, with his gruff exterior that you somehow cracked through. His tough heart that you wormed your way into, the softness he saves for the rare moment alone. He is not one for tenderness but conveys his feelings in a way you understand, a subtle love language you learned over time. "Why do I like you again?" He would grumble, forced annoyance coating the affection in his tone when you squirm closer to him. "Fucker." The word is harsh, a contrast to the soft way his calloused hands brush over your skin. "I didn't want to fall for you, y'know."

In no particular order, I now would like to present to you - 10 of my own fictional 'crushes.'

(Let me be clear - I live in my little fantasy worlds, and escapism is my crutch; I have far more than ten).

1. Julian "Ilya" Devorak (The Arcana: A Mystic Romance)

I mean - obviously. As amazing as the main six are, Julian will probably be my hands-down favourite. He's dramatic, he's witty, he's dashing, he's romantic, he's hilarious, and he can pull off an eyepatch better than anyone I can think of.

Also, he has that sub energy in a way that made me realize that I am, in fact, into that - especially in his case.

Look, I get that most of the NPCs and traveling companions in Skyrim have the character depth of a puddle, but gods-dammit, if I didn't fall hard for this one.

2. Farkas (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)

Aside from the fact that he is, as far as I'm concerned, one of the most attractive characters in the game, he's also kinda sweet.

You can bet that if I'm playing Skyrim, this werewolf will always be end-game for me.

Yes, yes - I know. Of all the characters from this universe I could have been drawn to, THIS is the one that turned my head? I dunno what to tell ya.

3. Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones)

He is likely to be one of the most 'toxic' ones on my list, and of course, if any man were to pull half of what he probably would in real life, I'd kick him to the curb in a heartbeat, but something about this character just works for me.

He's built like a brick shithouse, he's protective to a fault, he's dark and brooding, he's a big ol' grump, and he was there looking out for Sansa and Arya when he could have easily just left them to their fates.

I adore this character. ♡

4. Beelzebub (Helluva Boss)

When Helluva Boss came out with this character, I was instantly smitten. The universe Vivzie Pop has created is full of characters that could have been on this list (Cherri Bomb, Alastor, Carmilla Carmine, Lucifer, Lilith, etc), but this character, even having only appeared in a single episode, left a lasting impression! ♡

She's the life of the party, and a sweetheart to boot - and I am here for it.

Astarion had me reeling well before I'd even had a chance to play the game for myself. Between the writers, the character designers, and the legendary voice actor (Neil Newbon), Astarion truly stands out even in the game's incredible, all-star cast.

5. Astarion (Baldur's Gate 3)

Yeah, yeah - call me basic. But come on - I mean, this character is absolutely irresistible.

Look, Sinbad is cool and all, but Proteus was always my favourite. He's handsome, he's responsible, he's loyal to a fault, and he's the type to always do the right thing, more concerned with the spirit of the law over the word of the law.

That, and truth be told, I'm a sucker for a good vampire romance - and that leg hook. ♡

6. Proteus (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas)

I mean, I like a bad guy a lot of the time, but this man has a heard of gold, and I adore that about him.

I know, I know - two characters in one entry may technically be cheating, but I honestly couldn't choose. And this is my damn list entry, so bite me. 😜

7. Charon/Fawkes (Fallout 3)

Keeping with my odd habit of falling for... unconventional characters, these two are fitting in their own ways.

Then, there's Charon - look, my first impression of this Ghoul is hiring him and watching him immediately blast Ahzrukhal to bits with a point-blank shotgun blast to the face - and that's just fine by me. From that point on, he was my main companion throughout the majority of my playthrough, and for some reason, he grew on me fast. Don't get me wrong, Cooper Howard is ✨️ foine ✨️ but I like to think that Charon (and for some, Hancock) walked so Cooper could run.

On one hand, Fawkes (despite being a bit ol' super mutant) is such a kind, thoughtful and heroic character with a great head on his shoulders, despite his circumstances. It does also help that I feel much safer in the game with him as a companion - and super mutants and ghouls deserve love too, dammit (well, okay, not all super mutants because the other 99.9% of them are about as bad as they come, but you know what I mean). That, and with me being a tall person who typically does the protecting in real life, it's nice to have a character that could make me feel small.

He's tough, he's sarcastic, he's misunderstood, and I adore his dynamic with Rebecca throughout the game. Resident Evil 0 may be pure cheese, but I am here for it.

8. Billy Coen (Resident Evil 0)

Let's face it; the Resident Evil universe is chalk-full of damn well godlike attractive characters, but Resident Evil 0 was one of the first games I ever played in the series, and right from his first appearance in the game, I was completely smitten with Billy.

Now the poor guy's basically been born into a n Awoken vessel with zero context of why people just want to shoot him in the face. Did you know his ghost sings him lullabies?

9. Crow (Destiny 2)

I know, I know. 'b U t H e K i L L e D c A y D e - 6' - *slap* No. Uldren killed Cayde - Crow is NOT Uldren. That's just how the lore works.

Oof - my heart. Poor baby bird. 😭 Despite everything that's happened, and how tragic things have been for him ever since the moment he opened his eyes, he still has so much try. He wants to be better. He wants to help. He wants to take responsibility and accountability for actions that weren't even his, but he's seen the impact and the effect Cayde's death has had on others, and he's stopping at nothing to just be the beat version of himself that he can. He makes mistakes, he tries to get better, and that's all any of us can do. And I love him for it.

To wrap up the list, I wanted to go with the very first fictional crush that I can remember having! I was head over heels for this character for a loooooong time, and even now, almost 25 years later, he's still got it. ♡

I wasn't sure if I should do this chronologically, or in order of how much I've simped for these people, so let's just get to it:

P.S.: you'll get kudos (and maybe candy) if you pick up on the common themes here.

1. Zuko - ATLA

He was my first fictional crush.

I would write self insert fic about him (which never saw the light of AO3 thankfully), and I would rewatch all of ATLA just to his character go from "I can fix him" brat to adorkable edgy brat.

2. Bill Cipher - Gravity Falls

He had what I at the time called the "sexy British accent". I never even joined the school of thought "he'd burn the whole world down but me". I was chill with burning.

3. Bucky Barnes - MCU

And the bad boy parade continues. I firmly believed that I could fix him, and going back to the (once again thankfully unpublished) self insert slash fics of the time, I realise that I had no idea what in him needed fixing.

4. John Hancock - Fallout 4

Nothing makes me fall harder for a sad meow meow than him going "I'm gonna stop bugging you with my problems, I know I'm too fucked up to love".

I have a save file right before that convo, and I like to revisit it every so often.

5. Egor Serling - Deathloop

While on the topic of sad meow meows, let me introduce you to mister "I've been invisible my whole life 🥺". He's pathetic and slightly unhinged, what is there not to love? ( y/n in my fic about him agrees).

6. David Sarif - Deus Ex

It's hard to pick only one character from the DX games, but I think "Daddy Sarif", as I affectionately call him whenever he's brought up in conversation, belongs here.

He is rich, smart, and believes the illuminati want to tear down his company (and has 0 evidence to back that up).

7. Crosshair - Clone Wars: the Bad Batch

A sad meow meow, a bad boy, and white hair? Can a man be more perfect? Well he's also a sniper ...

He's like Egor, but he'll talk back when you tell him to get on his knees, you know?

8. Billie Lurk - Dishonored

You know the jist by this point, sad, with questionable morals, daddy issues, and missing an arm.

My favourite thing about her is how she goes "this is a robbery" with an audible smirk, as she robs a bank. And also that she kept the creepy art project her girlfriend gave her a decade ago. How sweet is that?

I need to write a self-insert x her fic. But I don't have any Dishonored OCs :/

9. Alyx Vance - Half Life

She was my first girl crush. And I still remember the exact moment I went "damn that chick is cool". It was shortly after reuniting with Barney, when I had to shoot my way through some stupid combine stronghold, and Alyx just crawled through the vents and waited for me on the other side.

(She is the reason I have £500 saved to one day buy a VR set)

10. Bo-Katan Kryze - the Mandalorian (no this isn't cheating, it's a different sub-fandom XP)

Is she just a mommy version of Alyx? Maybe. But the Mandalorian (the TV series), sure helped with the popularity of her character... (I'm talking about that one ass scene).

She also has that sad kitty side to her, when she sits alone in her massive space castle after all her friends have left her.

Alternately the Everbody Loves Jaskier Because He’s a Sweetheart AU

Hear me out, canonically, there are different worlds that Ciri can hop to and from.  Why the shit not use that to make crossovers?  Because, Ciri isn’t the only one who can do it, and why not characters from other games/books I love?  And the chaos that would ensue…This got long, sorry.

*This is basically my excuse to have multiple powerful people adore Jaskier because the bard deserves it. Fuck off.  Also, Geralt gets a shovel talk from someone who can back it up?  

*So, there is Some Shit™ that happens and now multiple worlds can basically freely access each other and that?  Is not good. Tamriel, The Northern Kingdoms and Thedas collide as simultaneous cataclysmic explosions of power occur on all 3 coincide and create a connection.  You do not want things from The Northern Kingdoms to get involved with things from Thedas or Tamriel.  Or vice versa.

*Just saying, a Darkspawn Kikimora is a BAD DAY. The Daedric Princes would have a field day with the people in The Northern Kingdoms; especially Sheogorath and Sanguine.  And the kinds of vampirism present in both Tamriel and The Northern Kingdoms would cause some fucking problems in Thedas.

*Plus no one is prepared for the demons.  Thedosian demons are bad all by themselves, adding other magics to the mix just makes it worse.  Even Vesemir is like “Fuck this I need an ale.”

                                            Starting With Thedas

*I’ll be super honest, I mostly want to have an excuse for Geralt and the other Witchers to meet The Iron Bull and have no fucking idea what to think about him.  Here is this. Guy.  And he’s a certifiable BAMF. Routinely fights dragons and calls it fun, could go toe to toe with a Witcher and also call it fun but he’s also NOT a grumpy jerk.  These things do not equate in Witcher logic.

*Jaskier and Bull get into a Pun-Off, it ends with Jaskier conceding to Bulls “Pun-ishing grasp of wordplay”.  Jaskier brings Bull to tears of laughter with a few really dirty songs.

*Bull might seem like a big loud brute, but he is so freaking smart and he loves talking about poetry forms with Jaskier, and how easy it is to sway hearts and minds with just a little story telling and embellishment. He also introduces Jaskier to The Chargers and gets a “Dammit Chief.” from a long suffering Krem.

*Jaskier creates The Chargers Sonata and they all love it.

*Jaskier and Dorian are destined to be the very best friends.  Both in love a with a big strong warrior with a heart of gold, both love wine, both love fashion and music.  Both actually rather scholarly in their respective fields.  Dorian and Jaskier can both talk for hours, and Geralt gets annoyed until he realizes how much it means to Jaskier to have a friend he can just talk to.  Who can and will just talk back.  It’s cannon in book/game verse that Jaskier is actually Julian Alfred Pankratz, Viscount de Lettenhove and thus a noble.  He and Dorian connect over horrifying fathers, surviving abuse and unrealistic expectations that they turned their backs on.  More to come on this because, oh, I have so many thoughts about Jaskier’s backstory.  

*Vivienne and Yennefer drink wine and talk so much shit.  Madame De Fer yearns for Power and Respect. Yennefer has these two attributes in spades.  Yennefer is powerful in all the ways Vivienne wishes she could be.  And Yennefer finds a kindred soul in Vivienne, someone who takes all their bitterness and anger and wraps it around them in a fashionable wall of armor.  A woman who wants to be more than what people have decided she will be.  Beautiful, clever, deadly and powerful.  But both of them have just that little chink, that soft place named either Bastien or motherhood. That small hurting part and they find comfort in knowing that there is another person who matches them so well.  They are later joined by Triss.

*So, Joey Batey is 5’9”/175.26 cm and Henry Cavill is 6’1”/185.42 cm, but in my head Geralt is taller.  So, I tend to leave Jaskier around 5’9” and Geralt around 6’5”/195.58 cm.  This leads to a conversation, because the Iron Bull is described as being over 7 ft/ 213.36 cm tall, it’s never really specified, but I always sort of put him at closer to the 8 foot/243.84 cm mark because horns.

              Geralt: I never knew how much your neck had to hurt?

              Jakier: ???????

               Geralt: I have never had to look up at someone to talk to them before.                 Not as an adult at any rate.  You have to do it all the time.

               Jaskier: (ಠ_ಠ)     (ง'ಠ -'ಠ)ง

 *The Iron Bull thinks Jaskier puts up with too much crap from Geralt.

*Dorian just pats Bull on the arm, because he knows what it’s like to fall in love fast and hard with someone who ‘doesn’t do romance’ or ‘no feelings’.  Dorian knows how deeply Jaskier fell in such a short amount of time.  Because even if he struggles to say it, he fell for Bull the exact same way.  And by the grace of the Inquisitor, Dorian gets to have his love returned.  But oh, he will never forget the days of loving a man who’s very culture forbade romantic attachment.  And he also knows how Geralt feels; how absolutely terrifying it is to be loved by someone you know is too good for you.

                                            Starting With Tamriel

*The Companions are having a damn good time fighting all the shit coming to Tamriel, because unknown monsters invading?  Worlds colliding and spilling chaos into each other?  That’s what makes Heroes and stories that are told for generations.

*Until Vilkas gets the blight, Torvar gets clawed to death by a despair demon, and Njada is gored by a royal griffin.

*Farkas has never even thought of a world without his twin, and he doesn’t know what to do now that he lives in it.

*Jaskier reaches out to Farkas, because he can’t stand people being so sad.  “Tell me about your brother, tell me his adventures and manner and I will immortalize him in songs and stories across your world AND mine.”

*Farkas really comes to treasure Jaskier, even if he “Talks to fucking much.”  They develop the kind of friendship where one chatters and the other kind of nods?  Farkas has no clue what Jaskier is talking about most of the time but he really doesn’t mind listening.

*Jaskier carefully teaches Farkas to read, because Farkas is not actually stupid in my head.  I think he’s dyslexic, and when you have a learning disability and you get told you are stupid often enough, you start to believe it.

*Farkas’ Nord DB Wife appreciates the effort and comes to really appreciate Jaskier.

*Spoiler alert; She is the one to give Geralt the shovel talk because he is next to nothing compared to her. A steel blade or silver blade won’t touch dragon bone armor and signs are a joke to her. She could literally rip his soul out with a shout before he could do dick.  Axii can’t touch the mind of a this crazy bitch who’s gone against Hermaeus Mora and come out completely unscathed.  She knows no fear and every Witcher within a mile of her has their instincts screaming.  She’s just so oddly fucking soft. Her big sweet husband, sweet adopted children and twins on the way adding to already soft curves absolutely does not mesh with the aura of danger danger danger she exudes.  

*Jaskier seems to be loved by people from worlds that are not his own and it makes him feel like he doesn’t belong and he should have been born somewhere else.  Feeling like he’s outsider starts crushing him and then Geralt just holds him.  Surrounds the slender bard with his bulk and relieves some of that pressure.

*“You belong with me, songbird.  I am glad you are in my world.”  It’s not, “I love you”, but it’s pretty fucking close and now he can’t wait to tell Dorian and Farkas.

 There is a ton more to come, but I am writing waaay too much in head cannon posts.  Sorry my friends.  This is totally going to be Geraskier though.  It’s going to happen.  I am almost done with my half elf Jaskier thing too.  I’ll post it here in a bit.

I think "wasted potential" is a given with nearly every tes character but the companions feel especially underdeveloped.

Also, I feel Farkas has been done dirty by some fans and canon as well. Reminds me a bit of Papyrus from Undertale, because of the infantilisation and painting him as an uwu baby idiot.

The characterization people like @vilkas give him is the one I agree with the most.

I adore him, he's very kind, funny, and knowledgeable, and I just wish he'd wash his face more often lol
