I always say I'm unromantic and I don't really feel anything around me. But the truth is that I don't actually fit in this generation. This generation have bartered the meaning of "LOVE", either it is about hook ups, casual dating, fake relationships, friends with benefits or simply heartbreaks. But love doesn't depict this, so whenever someone asks me out, I always say that I'm an Oldschool. For me love is putting gajra on my hair, making adrak wali chai, cutting vegetables when I'm cooking, knowing that I hate sweets but still buying me sandesh and gulab jamun, putting mehendi on our hands, buying a whole carton of piara(guava) after I mentioned I like it, writing dramatic hindi shayaris for me after a small fight, walking barefoot on the grass, helping me wear my saree, dancing on sawar loon, making maggi and garam-garam pakode after the first drop of rain hits the ground, gifting me jhumkas because I love them, making me wear silver payal and always adorning my long black hair.

Is this too much to ask for? For me love is all about you.

this weekend was productive (kinda?)

given, I stared at the ceiling from like 6 am yesterday and today, but today I got up after 2 hours whereas yesterday I stayed there until 1 pm.

I finished one of my three pending assignments!! (due tomorrow!) and i'm currently halfway through a second one (due Friday!) and I've done a page for my last one (due 27th!)

I also did laundry and made my bed for the first time in 10 days.

washed my body and hair after like a week, recorded some things for instagram positive content lmao, and went out with a few acquaintances to a fest and heard cringe shayaris and dirty jokes ft. stand up comedians. that was kinda fun. before I was alone there cause my friends had to leave and then I started to notice the amount of men there and how few girls there were, and they were all with someone they knew.

I also went 10 days clean, but broke that record today. it's a pity, truly, but it felt like i was drowning, and that little amount of pain just made me feel okay again.

the voices in my head haven't stopped. they make me feel bad about myself and my body and a lot many other things and they even make me behave certain ways when i'm alone and it's scaring me lol

I've been making so many eating disorders and sexual abuse related reels recently, it makes me feel almost like i'm begging for attention. it takes me back to 7th grade when i was trying to unalive myself and my friends and teachers all just looked at me with anger and bitterness and told me to stop wanting attention and that I was doing it for boys or smth (ew).

but even just talking about my experiences or feelings makes me feel like i don't deserve to talk about them because there are people who have had it worse and me talking about things that happened to me just makes me feel like i'm trying to gain attention or i'm faking it? as weird as it sounds, it's what it is.

I had a heartbreaking story of my dearest friend

There is a friend of mine way too emotional. He knows that and that’s why he never got into relationship bc of fear. He then asked family for arrange marriage. He met this girl on matrimonial site and they both started talking and discussed everything. Both were showing interest into each other’s life and started meeting personally. He started falling for this girl. He also told that girl abt the same. His family was against this relation but he made them to meet her family once. Then Both families met and things were going smooth. Suddenly she started ignoring him then he asked what’s the problem ( they both talked for 20 days it’s small time period but some people feel attachment too early) . She told that she wanted break from this arrange marriage procedure and wants to focus on her pending work. He tried his level best to make things ok with this girl. But she refused to listen. After some time she sends him sympathy messages. At that time I was in India. He called me and I visited him that night. I saw tears into his eyes. He broke down in front of me. After seeing message he outburst on that girl and said something bad which he was not supposed to say. After that she blocked him from everywhere. He was not satisfied with the reason she had given as reason given by her was way too lame. I used tricks and techniques And somehow find out that she was already in love with some guy who left her and she is still waiting for that guy. And my friend still can’t get over her. I told him that she is in love with some other guy and he was her rebound.It’s been almost 2 months and my friend is still in trauma. And asked me how can she do this to me? What should I tell him ? I don’t have answer for that.

Right now I am out of India and I know he needs me more than anything but I am helpless.

My friend is not that religious but that girl always used Allah name in every lies she told him.

I also used lies and fake stories to know that girl’s intentions

Role-reversal?

Okay, so a lot of peeps from IF suggested me to check out the role-reversal thingy today, and I myself, was slightly curious as to how its gonna work out. So, well just to check out their acting, I watched parts of the episode. Of course, as usual Surbhi and Nakuul got a hella lot more screentime, in which Surbhi showed that she can act, while Nakuul displayed that he’s the worst in the IB cast. But anyways, heres what I thought of all them below: 

Surbhi: Since, I've seen IB from the beginning, I'm pretty impressed with Surbhi. After Shrenu, she's my fav among the IB cast. I can actually close my eyes and imagine Annika's expression to anything. So, in my unbiased opinion, let me just say I was not impressed today. 

Surbhi was playing Annika only today, there was not a trace of Bhavya in here. But here actually its not Surbhi's fault. The writers have not really given Bhavya a personality. There is nothing distinctive about Bhavya's personality apart from her career. For example, Annika does not talk about catering all the time, or Gauri does not talk about stitching clothes all the time. What does Bhavya have as a personality trait that distinguishes her from someone? Not much.

Therefore, Surbhi had to imitate Mansi instead of Bhavya, copying the cop dialogues. And er, I dunno, I felt she caricatured Mansi. She got the voice right but they way she executed the whole thing, looked like she is making fun of Mansi's acting. Its not a nice thing to do.  I felt this was really catty.  Mansi: Er, Gauri's character itself, is pretty difficult to play. Upar se the writer chose wrong dialogues. Thats not what Gauri would say in such a situation. She would encourage Annika but subtly laugh too. Not talk about Shankarji in helping her become GL. 

Khair, Mansi could not get the lingo right, but she tried hard. From whatever, I've seen of Mansi's acting, it was a good attempt. She was still looking like Bhavya playing a role, but she did try. And it was not bad. Kunal: Coming to Kunal, I think Kunal was playing out the character of Shivaay, and not imitating Nakuul. What makes Shivaay? His tadi, attitude and arrogance. The way Kunal told the pizza girl to keep the change and get lost, was how the character of Shivaay would have done. It was in stark contrast to Omkara, who talks politely to everyone (except Gauri ). 

I really felt Kunal could grasp the character of Shivaay. But he did not imitate Nakuul, 'cos I couldn't see Nakuul in his expressions at all, even though he tried to do that thing that Nakuul does with his eyes, with one eye shut slightly, when he is showing tadi. 

Kunal was a nice Shivaay, but he wasn't the Nakuul version of Shivaay. Shrenu: Shrenu, I felt was the best. She got both the things correct, she could grasp Annika's character also and Surbhi's mannerisms. Along the way, she also kept the Gauri in her intact. Because she would pause before saying the dialogues since this is the first time that Gauri is imitating Annika. 

Shrenu's expression when she threw water at Om/Shivaay was almost similar to the expression that Surbhi gives. The dialogue delivery on the whole GL conversation was exactly like Surbhi/Annika. 

Also, one reason why it was easy for her to imitate both Surbhi/Annika is because Surbhi plays the role of Annika so well that one cannot differentiate between Surbhi and Annika. 

I felt Shrenu really got Annika the best, especially, the way Annika says 'Shivaay' after messing up. 

(But I also felt that the editors really fast forwarded the whole group scene. I just could not enjoy it properly. ) Leenesh: Lee is my fav in comedy scenes. Because whatever happens Rudy is always in character. 

We should never forget that Rudy loves to troll Om. So, even when he is pretending to be Omkara he is trolling Om with his shayari and fake intensity. This is not to say that Leenesh did a bad job as Omkara. 

Leenesh was fine as Omkara, its just that he did a better job as Rudy pretending to be Omkara.   Nakuul: Nakuul, I felt, was the worst today. Neither was he Rudy nor Leenesh. He could not imitate either of them. In fact, he kinda trolled Rudy, the way he walked. When Rudy/Om said "Main kya aisa karta hu?" even I was agreeing with him. I mean, seriously, Rudy does not act like that. (I think Nakuul and Surbhi successfully caricatured Leenesh and Mansi. I really dunno how Leenesh and Mansi felt about this. I mean, I would be pretty upset if people I thought were my friends took the mickey outta my acting skills on national television).

Ustad Advay Ali Khan?

Today we were introduced to Advay’s twisted shayraana roop. These two give a new dimension to Tu Shayar Hai, Main Teri Shayari. (LOL its okay if no one else laughs, i crack myself up) 

Rang subha jaisa

Her colouring is that of a morning

Par mann hai kali raaton sa

But her heart is as dark as night

Chandni toh parda hai

The moonlight is just a cover

Ran jo gham ki baaton ka** (Not sure if I heard that entire line right)

For a war of words of grief

This first part reminds me of Chandni’s initial betrayal of Advay with her horrible remarks about his mom being a witch. (Who the fuck says that, Chandni you idiot) 

The language used here is deeply personal. Vindictive even. He launches into this poem insulting the moonlight, calling her a blackheart. He acknowledges that she’s beautiful, but that her beauty hides something sinister. (So you think, you fool)

He ends with a line that I’m not sure I heard correctly but if I did, it implies that he is battling with himself. This is easily shown within the show when he has rare moments of softness towards her (always when she is indisposed somehow) which he then contradicts with reinforced vows of revenge.

Chandni dhoka hai The moonlight is a betrayal

The sunlight in this case refers to Advay aka Dev and the darkness being his vengeance. The moonlight is what separates sunlight and darkness, similarly Chandni, or more specifically the remnants of what he feels for her, is the hurdle in his path to it. 

He follows this immediately with reminding himself that she’s fake and she’s illusory and not to be trusted.

Mann ki kali kyun na ho? And why shouldn’t she be black at heart?

Raat ki saheli hai She’s friends with the night

Chandni farebi hai 

The moonlight is fake

Chandni paheli hai  The moonlight is a riddle

In this part, he goes to talking about her family. Stating that of course she’s no different than the people she comes from. Advay is already aware of her family’s involvement in the grand scheme of things and now thinks that she can’t be any better than them. 

He then references what he thinks of as the act she puts on for the world. A scared, young girl who needs support. But he’s also intrigued by her. By the facets to her personality and by her attempts to stand up to him. He can’t understand her, he doesn’t understand her. 

Dil fareb dhoke ki Of false hearts and betrayal

Raat yeh dhalegi ab

This night will come to an end now

Aag laut aayi hai

The fire has returned

Chandni jale gi ab 

And now the moonlight will burn

This last part is a little bit obvious. Referencing his return to burn the moonlight, that which separates him from his goal, to cinders. He alludes to the Vashisht family’s time as head priest as the dark night he references. The night ending signifies that he plans to yank them back down to earth. He, Dev, is the fire that they will burn in this time, and he’ll start with their daughter. 

**It’s also very interesting how strong the motif of fire is in this show. Especially considering the role fire plays in Mahadev’s own life. He not only burned Kaamdev to cinders, but his own wife Sati also burned due to her father’s words. The same way Dev’s mother burned because of Chandni’s words.
