We have in an article shared about the ‘Greek’ words for love, and there were four of them, Eros, Stergos, Philos,and Agape.

This could be a ‘did you know segment’, well in Greek they have two words for Time. The first, ‘Chronos’ expresses time in measurable units eg; dates, seasons. ‘Chronos points to the before and the after; this kind of time is counted, and measured, measured with precision.

We like using and talking in ‘chronos’ terms. our lives are set by it in minutes, hours, days and weeks, to keep the record of the passing of Time.

There is a second word for time in Greek called ‘Kairos’ which looks past the measurement of time and into its potential. God is not limited by time, so the ‘Kairos’ or more than a measurement, it is also a gift to be enjoyed and even savored.

“Chronos function is concerned with Quantity, where as ‘Kairos’ ask us to consider quality, invites us to recognize and seize the Divine, opportune moments before us.

But God is not limited by time so when He speaks to us,the Kairos interupts the ‘Chronos’. So a problem exists, we are naturally living in Chronos, thinking of keeping our eye on time, wondering when Our Lord and Our Friend will speak. But we should recognize that He is speaking right now, and we should be asking how He wants to talk to us.

An example of this can be found in The Creation story, in Genesis. We see Adam and Eve walking in communion with God, but it is not mentioned the lenght of time Adam and Eve enjoyed their garden relationship with God. The story is not limited or concerned with the Chronos time, but is about Kairos time.

Karios time calls us to do things and be people we would not otherwise be, It influences our lives by changing our perspective.

God is infinite and we can’t limit Him to Chronosronos time, let start seeing things form His perceptive, and use our time as Kairos time as a gift from Him to be savored and experienced.

Much more could be said, but lets all discover more for ourselves.

God never allows formal religion observances to take the place of practical. everyday godliness. As He pointed out through the Prophet Zechariah, spiritual disciplines such as fasting as important as they can be, make little impression on God if  at the same time our lifestyle lack justice. mercy and compassion. {Zechariah 7 verse 5 and 9}

All through scripture is the same theme: Isaiah 1 Verse 17 “Do Good, Seek justice, Help the oppressed, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow.”,

This a reflection of how we should live, Do Good, Seek  Justice, Help the oppressed.

But enmity and hostility have away of turning good, kind and compassionate people into vicious and vindictive people. The scripture warn us against allowing bitterness and hatred to remain in our hearts.

Galatians 5 verse 13: Message Bible:

“It is absolutely clear that God has call you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows”.

Then a couple of verse later, Paul advice on how to overcome is:

Galatians 5 Verses 16 and 17: Message Bible:

“My {Paul’s} is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsion of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness.”

The challenge for us all, if we are to be continually effective in our ‘Faith In Action’ is to examine ourselves afresh. What does our attitudes towards others, reveal about our values. Have we inadvertently allowed ourselves to become ‘upside-down’ in our concerns for people.

It is always good to reflect on our walk, and perhaps reorient our lives so that it reflects more of Our Lord and Our Friend.

The Fields are white with harvest, we all need to be free of the things that might hold us back in being effective for His Kingdom.

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

We should thank God for all He’s given us. Our talent can be our special personality, our ability to give kind words, musical ability, determination in life, giving, wisdom, compassion, preaching, teaching skills, communication skills, or anything we’re good at.

1Peter 4:10 “Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God.”

Leo Buscaglia said; ‘Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.’

God created us and blessed us with special gifts and abilities for a reason; not to let them lay dormant gathering dust. Use it or lose it, the saying goes. One of the saddest things in life is a wasted talent.

We should be wise and put them into use to help others, so that the giver of gifts may be glorified.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that we are uniquely made, with special talents and abilities, gifted to us. Please help us to be good stewards of those things you’ve given us, and always to give you all the honor and praise. Would you continue to protect us and our families during these times of uncertainty? In Jesus name I pray, Amen

We are praying for help for 350 Bibles in Udru language for evangelism.

We are praying for help for 16 widows, who need help in there everyday living.

We are praying for The children at our school Resen for Nations school for help with books desks and equipment to provide education. Our school provides free education for the orphans and poor children that they can get an education.

Our Bethnay Church congregation is increasing and we are praying for financial help to undertake repairs to our church building.

This is a church doing it tough in a country in most parts that is hostile to the Christian message. Love.is so special and should not be complicated, because Our Lord and Our Friend Love.

Love, we first covered in the Gospel of John. Love is a fruit of the Spirit

Again from John’s Gospel 13 verses 34 and 35: {Amplified Bible];

V34 “I give you a new commandment that you should love one another just as I have loved you, so you to should love one another.

V35 ” By this all {people} know that you are my disciples, if you love one another, if you keep showing love among yourselves.”

This is not a wishy washy kind of love, first of all it is a command, secondly it should be our response to that command, not because He commanded, but because His Love should permeate us, if He is truly Lord of our life.

We are in Him, to be sort of marinated by Him. Our old self is dead, our new self, which He purchased for us on the cross is alive in Him.

Marinated in The Fruit of Love.

1 Corinthians 13 verse 4 to 8 : Love is patient, Love is kind, It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS.

Paul wrote that the requirement of the Old Testament are completely fulfilled by those who act in love. On a second occasion he links Love, with Hope and Faith. Love being the greatest of the three. Paul also describes love as a ‘Fruit of The Spirit’, a natural product in all who have new life in Christ Jesus. {Our Lord and Our Friend}.

Do you, like us all, need a little more marination of Love, well ask Our Lord and Our Friend?

Galatians 5 verse 14; {Amplified Bible} “For the whole law {concerning human relationships is complied with the one precept. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.}

The Bible invites us to discover what Love really is. The love that the world promotes tends to be a distortion. People use it to make money, to hurt others or oppress them and to gratify themselves.

But the Love of Christ Jesus Our Lord and Our Friend, opens up a whole new world of Love, as we receive His Love for us.

Lets us all learn to love your neighbors more, as we all spend more time marinating in the wonderful Love, we have in Our Lord and Our Friend.

God does love everybody, but it is not until we accept Him, we can receive and understand, all the love that he has for each one of us.
