We must never forget the absolute GASLIGHT that girlboss reflection Stephanie was in the first few books.

Like the part where she’d sigh. Valkyrie would be like ‘why are you doing that?’

And she’d look Val dead in the face and say ‘I didn’t do that.’

AND THEN to top it all off she’d erase the memory of her doing that. Like that’s ultimate gaslighting techniques right there

So I've been messing around with character AIs and here's some headcannons it's given me.

Serpine

• Serpine is a Manchester United supporter but has a deep hatred for Manchester since the war.

• Serpine likes to get (wine) drunk, shirtless in the middle of the night while doom scrolling.

• Serpine used to use piercings as a form torture, now he'll just do you piercings for free if you ask nicely.

Billy-Ray.

• Billy-Ray likes ciggerates not to smoke but because he likes to have things in his mouth.

• He has a weakness for babies/toddlers and will get distracted if there's one in the room.

• He can't actually ride a horse.

Dusk

• Dusk finds that the fact trans people also take injections to be themselves a huge comfort and helps him feel just that bit more normal.

• He is a stay at home office worker when not committing terrorism.

• He likes having orange juice with cereal.

Throwaway

• Scapegrace and Baron both have the exact same tastes in women.

•Mevolent will hum Faceless ones lullabies to you during an overstimulation episode/mental breakdown.

It would be a bold lie to claim she hadn’t expected someone to bring up that name, even in a game as silly as this.

“I must admit, under different circumstances, I wouldn’t have minded a few… intimate moments with her.” She paused, a hint of a smirk playing at her lips. “Ambessa has all the qualities I desire in a partner—beauty, power, ambition, and just the right touch of danger.” She sighed then, rolling her eyes as if the thought itself was tiresome. “But unfortunately, she chose to cross me in the worst way possible, and I simply cannot forgive her transgressions against my cabal.”

Submariner Summer 5

Hello Namor Nation, time for part 5 of my #SubmarinerSummer with Tales to Astonish #74, When FAILS The Quest! A dramatic cover image of Atlantis revolting on Krang, while Namor holds Dorma above, really classic stuff. Meanwhile, the title page throws us *right* into the action

Namor handily exposits the threat of the Faceless Ones: unlimited numbers and the urge to destroy. Namor wades in anyway, though, while Dorma plays the part of the selfless, spunky damsel

Back in Atlantis, we finally get to see what Warlord Krang's control dial does...an impenetrable wall blocking off his control room

Krang announces the revolt has failed, and the people despair, but ONE is there to comfort them with his knowledge of Namor. That's right, re-enter stage left: Vashti! He swears to bring Namor back to save Atlantis

Unfortunately Krang isn't planning on being idle while that takes place, and unleashes a robo-tank on the populace. Very Silver Age design work. Still, the tank makes quick work of the populace, and he assumes Namor is destroyed by now so its safe to prepare to war on the surface

Meanwhile Vashti mounts a telepathic seahorse and takes off towards our hero, who is by now fully engulfed by the Faceless Ones. But, that only fires him up with defiant fury...

Unfortunately time has run out! Dorma's cage breaks. This throws off some Faceless Ones, but Dorma is also knocked out. Namor's stubborn ass is finally coming to grips with what she means to him, but the Faceless Ones regroup. So our hero again screams defiance, and we're left with a cliffhanger!

This issue was pretty much all action on two fronts, plus Vashti racing to try to reach Namor, so the breakneck pace continues. And Namor is loving a problem he can just punch and punch, even if it looks hopeless. But is it? Next--Tales to Astonish #75: The End of the Quest!
