TMNTember 2024 Day 21: Favorite Alien

MONA LISA WILL ALWAYS BE MY NUMBER 1 GIRL, but I have been growing a liking to Rook aka Irma for a while now. She deserved better. It would’ve been cool if Irma and Rook were revealed to be the same person, like Irma was Rooks undercover name so she could keep an eye on April and get close to the Turtles to retrieve intel for the Utrom council. I did actually make a rewrite based on this concept that you can check out HERE.

She’s a blue tongued skink Yokai living in the Hidden City. She lives with her dad, Salvatore (also goes by Sal) who owns a car repair shop. Mona is very talented with engineering and mechanics, but she also has other secret talents too. Ones that involve a love of fighting and danger. But those talent are ones that if her father knew of he’d have a heart attack because of how worried he’d be for her. So Mona hides that side of her to her father and during the day. But at night? She lets it out by participating in Big Mama’s Battle Nexus under the name “The Night Watcher”

Mona also has a BIG crush on Raph, a “secret” that everyone knows of except Raph himself.

My New Mutant Mayhem/TOTTMNT Mona Lisa Design!!

My previous version of MM!Mona was Casey’s little sister who got mutant into a lizard. I scrapped that idea entirely!

My NEW MM!Mona is a a Salamandrian (specifically she’s a pink axolotl) named Y’Gthygba (like in 2012). Y’Gthygba is a young rookie solider apart of the Salamandrian army who was sent to Earth for an undercover mission to learn and get info on the illegal mutant experiments going on on the planet, this being her first mission on her own before she can be promoted into the force. Using her tech she is able to disguise herself as an average human girl and attend April and the Turtles high school under the name “Mona Lisa” because she has a fascination for Earth’s art culture.

During the day she’s Mona Lisa, the new girl who everyone finds strange but endearing, very smart and athletic. At night she is Y’Gythgba, scouting the city for her mission, and that is where she is confronted by her rival, Raphael who always gets in the way of her missions.

Raph HATES Y’Gythgba, picking fights with her every night and they battle all the time. Raph LOVES Mona Lisa, but he doesn’t understand why she hates his guts and won’t give him the time of day. What has he ever done to her?! (Unaware that Y’Gythgba and Mona Lisa are the same girl). But slowly he starts to fall for Y’gythgba which makes Raph conflicted for 2 reasons:

1) “She’s the enemy and I can’t be in love with the enemy!”

2) “My heart belongs to Mona!! What would she think of me if I flirted with another girl?!”

Also April is hella sus of the new girl and keeps having crazy theories that she’s actually an alien but Leo assures her that Mona is normal and she’s overthinking things. You can’t imagine her excitement when they all learned the truth lol

Nephew VS Uncle

I was listening to the song “Respectless” from Hazbin Hotel and it gave me MASSIVE Leo vs Yoshi vibes (Yoshi is my Shinirai kid OC).

Yoshi and Leo have two completely different mindset on how to handle dangerous enemies. Yoshi wants to take action immediately and go for the kill, while Leo wants to strategize and think before taking action, how killing should be the last resort. Yoshi doesn’t understand why his uncle doesn’t agree with him with his plans to kill off the enemies before they become a greater threats, because wasn’t Uncle Leo the one who decapitated the Shredder?? So a showdown begins…

TMNT 2012 as The Heathers

I was recently reminded of my TMNT 2012 girls as The Heathers drawing and I decided to redraw it to see how much I’ve improved. I gotta say this is the best I’ve ever drawn Mona. Despite her being my favorite character, she’s always been a challenge to draw, especially getting her head shaped right, as you can see in my previous two attempts I kept changing the style on how I wanna draw her lol

Hello! This is my first ask so I’m naturally nervous but I have a question. If you don’t want to answer that is perfectly fine.

Anyway, since you’re basically the all knowing god of TMNT 2012 lore, I was wondering how comfortable you would be if I made my own version of Lotus Blossom with her own back story. I wouldn’t change her original design by much, but I’m wondering if by changing some aspects of her design can make her more OC-ish.

TL;DR: if I changed Lotus Blossoms’ backstory and design a bit, would she be considered an OC?

First off, thank you. I’m flattered people see me as some sort of TMNT 2012 lore god but in truth I would’ve go that far. I just love the series and I’m very passionate about the story so I always enjoy writing fanfics and analysis of its characters <3

Secondly, I believe there might be a misunderstanding (or maybe I misunderstood your ask anon), but I do not own the character Lotus Blossom so you don’t need to ask for my permission to make your own version of her lol

Lotus is a character from the TMNT 1987 series.

She was a ninja that Kraang hired to replace Shredder and she was assigned with the task to kidnap Splinter and destroy the Turtles. Eventually she betrays Kraang, becomes a trusted ally to the Turtles and even has a little romance with Leo.

If you’re referring to my OC 2012 Lotus Blossom, again she’s just a reimagining of the 87 character in the 2012 series.

So you don’t need to ask for my permission, anon. Lotus is a canon TMNT character, I just did my own fun spin on her for 2012 like many other fans have done for other characters in the franchise.

If you meant you wish you use some of my ideas I did for 2012 Lotus in your own version of her, then go for it! Creativity is meant to be shared! Go nuts with your imagination and have fun! I can’t wait to see your version of her! :)

And yes technically she would count as an OC but more of she’s your own original take on this already existing character.

I wish they brought kala in TMNT 2012, she could've been alien besties with Mona

TMNT 2012 honestly did a massive disarespect to the Neautrinos in cause instead of getting them back...

We got this...

Now, I won't be a full on hater, cause I do think the 2012 Neautrinos design looks cool and their overall concept is creative given their names (honestly their names in 2012 make more sense than in 87), but if I were to bring back Kala and ther other into 2012, here's how I would've done it.

Mixing both ideas together, Kala, Dask and Zak in TMNT 2012 are space thieves that people across the cosmos hire to retrieve or "borrow" something. They aren't bad nor are they good. They just work for whoever and don't care which side their own, as long as they get paid. (I guess in DnD they'd be True Neutral??)

Zak: Hey, man. I can't figure out which side were on. Kala: Yeah. Are we with the Turtles or the Triceratons? Dask: Dude, just do the job. Never get involved in politics!

My idea is that the 2012 Neautrino are just their mecha space suits that help them shrink and grow in size. Think of it like the Power Rangers or Voltron with their mechas.

Their designs outside of the mech suits would be differnt too, where I'd imagine the Neautrinos have dark black hair and fully black eyes while their skin in the colors of their hair in the 87 show (so Kala would have orange skin and a green suit, Zak would have purple skin and blue suit, and Dask with blue skin and a yellow suit). I've actually drew a quick sketch of 2012 Kala not too long ago!

Now as for Kala, I think her and Mona would become friends eventually. The Neatrinos would help out with the Turtles mission to stop the Triceratons but only because they're "bored" meanwhile the Salamandrians help them because its the right thing to do. I feel this personality and different morals would clash between Mona and Kala. So at first they'd bicker over how Mona thinks Kala should take responsibility and fight for what's right while Kala thinks Mona needs to loosen up and stop worrying about a fight that isn't truly her problem. I think the two would eventually come to an understanding of one another, how not everyone is gonna think and feel the same way you do and the learn to respect each other's differences and later become friends.
