ok. i put this review off for a couple days cause i knew this was gonna be harder to write because i love lynn painter books, really. buuttt i was horribly disappointed with this one. i'm the biggest wesliz fan but... like yeah i cant even form coherent thoughts about it. like this was unnecessary there was no point in shattering their relationship to write this.

like it was good to see wes's pov and everything but it felt so... idk yeah. (see im still struggling so bad to find words.)

one thing i would formally like to invite lynn to STOP doing though is shoving every taylor/ pop culture reference on the planet into the book. like holy shit woman. i few is okay BUT NOT THAT MANY COME ON!!!! they were in the middle of a fucking argument and wes is quoting illicit affairs or some bullshit. usually i love finding little references on page but this felt like too much.

i feel like she's whipped out her computer and gone straight to some dog fanpage or just plainly scrolled through edits seeing people saying "this song is so wesliz coded" and shoved those songs into the book. there is an on page reference to in between reference saying its their montage song.

also um this shit: ”little liz can’t come to the phone right now. why? oh. because she’s dead.” and somehow when jack antonoff was randomly brought up??? like some people are good at weaving taylor swift lyrics into books. lynn you are not.

I: Yeah, definitely. Yeah. This season – I’m Moroccan myself, and Muslim, so I – I could relate to a lot of the things Yasmina was struggling with. And so, yeah. For sure. There are a lot of things where – this whole season, really. It’s about a lot of things that I can relate to in terms of prejudice, racism, home life, friends, booze – and yeah just a Muslim family in a Western culture. How do you deal with those things? How can you keep your values and when do you lose them, you know? And those are all things I experienced myself.

I: The other day I watched a new one on Netflix, something Earth something?

I: Cause there are a couple of them by now.

I: Yeah, there you go. I watched that recently. But I fell asleep halfway through.

E: “It was so fucking interesting, but I did fall asleep.”

I: But it’s so nice, just lying in bed and watching the world.

E: After watching a nature documentary, do you ever feel like: “Fuck, I have to become a better person. I have to do better by this planet.”

I: I also watched this documentary – I think it was about the ocean. It was about global warming, and they showed the consequences it had on animals. Like there was this walrus – I don’t know if you saw that?

E: No.

I: So because of global warming there’s a lot of snow – surfaces of ice that have melted away, and there are a lot of walruses. And as soon as they go on land - usually they’d go on land on ice, and they’d have a lot of space and they could all lie next to each other and sunbathe. But because there’s so little ice left they have to go climb rocks. There’s not a lot of space, they’re all cooped up together, and walruses they don’t know about height. All they know is swimming and chilling on ice. So what happens is they climb all the way up just to find somewhere to chill in the sun, and then when they want to go back in the water the just go down and they don’t realize it’s literally 60 – 50 meters high.

E: Oh, what the fuck?

I: So they fall down super dramatically. And then down there you have all these dead walrus bodies on top of each other, missing pieces and really… Yeah, it’s terrible.

E: Holy fuck, dude.

I: And that’s because of us…

E: Because we’re making the ice melt.

for example, if Frog Insta Page A created a meme and posted it. Frog Insta Page B likes it and wants to repost it! in this scenario, Page A allows reposts (even though that doesn’t even matter cause people repost your shit regardless of if you allow it so whatever). Frog Insta Page B screenshots and reposts Frog Insta Page A’s post and leaves their @ at the TOP of their caption. this is the best possible scenario to occur on instagram. if Frog Page B’s post gets 500 likes, even though the meme is credited to Page A, they don’t benefit from it at all.

BUT if Frog Tumblr A creates a meme and posts it, Frog Tumblr B would reblog their post. therefore, credit is always already attached to the post, and the creator benefits from it.

Arctic Monkeys Tumblr B posts 4 pictures of Alex Fat Ass Turner. they took these pictures from Arctic Monkeys Fan Insta Page, who took those from pinterest! THOSE pictures from pinterest were pinned FROM Arctic Monkeys Tumblr A. and the original tumblr post (usually) has the photographer credited or took those pictures themselves! (example) (example)

not ONLY does this A, steal from artists and B, lower the resolution of images because they’re like 8 steps removed from the original source, but it also clogs up instagram, tumblr, and pinterest.

go on pinterest right now and tell me how many times you see the SAME PICTURE of alex turner as MULTIPLE different pins from multiple different people. and HALF of those wont even bother LINKING the source, or they just link to tumblr.com, which just brings you to... tumblr dot com.

However, while the fans were gushing over these “never-seen-before” pictures, they conveniently left out the information found on the original content (which, as you can see, @/ballatotrashy claims not to know the source of - funny, cause we just had to scroll down like two posts to find it):

It transpires that this post was made by someone who had been a friend of Lindsey’s for over twenty years. The friend in question, Amanda, is also from Connecticut (where Lindsey grew up) and even collaborated on one of the ‘Shitty Teen’ pieces with her. Here is some proof that they were longtime friends:

So, here is ANOTHER friend that Lindsey has used and dropped, leaving her with the lasting memory that Lindsey Way is a “fucking piece of shit”.

Do you think tom and nadia are still a couple?

Is it bad if I completely open my heart with this one instead of ignoring it or posting a diplomatic, politically correct reply? I've been writing for this fandom for over a year now, and I always tried to keep it as drama free as possible, rarely taking part in fandom arguments, almost always ignoring my haters and anons and keeping how hard it is sometimes to run this blog from all my followers. But I feel like its time for me to speak up. Do you really want to know what I think? Well,

I hope so. I hope they're no longer dating, if they ever were.

But not for the reasons you probably think. I do not know either Tom or Nadia as persons. I have no idea or opinion on their relationship, I ignore if they are good for each other or make each other happy, or if they ever were in a relationship in the first place.

I want them to be over, or at least keep it in the (very) downlow, because I CAN'T STAND THE TADIA SHIPPERS. I have been harrased, sent hate and even DEATH THREATS over the last months by tadia shippers. And I'm SO DONE with them.

How do I know they were tadia shippers, besides the obvious few ones that specifically named Nadia Parkes and seemed to believe they were defending her honor? Well, they never attacked any of my Peter Parker fics, and the bottom line in all those anon messages seemed to be the same: I am a Jezabel, a Mary Magdalene, a scarlett letter for lusting over a taken man, and I should be burnt at the stake. Only they were a lot more vulgar, they don't seem to have my way with words.

I was already writing for this fandom back when those pap pictures with that poor girl Olivia came out, I didn't get any hate then, so the moral motivation they claim to have is obviously bullshit. This girl, however? This girl Olivia got a lot of it. Every inch of her body, her face, her hair and her persona was scrutinized and critisized. To this day a lot of people keeps calling her an alcoholic or an attention seeker, when she doesn't belong in the industry, she never posted pictures of Tom in her instagram and actually always kept it private. Yet when Nadia Parkes keeps doing things that deliberately attract attention to her, no one goes after her. At least not on Tumblr.

No, Nadia Parkes can do no wrong. Nadia Parkes gets fanpages, and edits to show her standing next to Tom. Am I judging her? Is it bad to want to flaunt your relationship on social media? Of course not. She actually did nothing wrong. But this fandoms double standards, THOSE ARE WRONG. THOSE ARE SICKENING. Because we all know the real reason girl next door Olivia was treated like shit by this fandom, yet Nadia Parkes is treated like a queen: Olivia is not instagram influencer level pretty. And this 13 year old shippers are shallow as fuck. I am not afraid to use this words and offend anyone because if you ARE 13 years old you should not be on this blog in the first place, to be honest.

So yeah, if they ever dated, I hope they're over now or at least do a much better job to keep it secret. And I hope the Tadia fandom rots in hell. Besi, chau.

Honestly, no idea. My name is Maria and that’s how everyone calls me. I don’t like my name nor any of its variations so I just go with it.

6. How has this pandemic been treating you?

I am fine, I am staying inside and all but most people don’t so I am afraid it will get worse soon and like Italy we’ll lose many people. Especially since summer is here, the quarantine days are lifted and every idiot who was looking forward to vacation is going to come here cause partying in Mykonos is more important than everyone’s health, obviously. I worry about my mother cause the pandemic has made things harder for her and her health and she couldn’t visit doctors etc, but well...(it’s not corona, it’s other things but now i am worried about that too).

8. Recommend a movie:

Oh I am bad at this, I am more of a music person xD. I have watched so many films ever since I was a kid that new ones don’t impress me easily and I rarely watch new stuff. If you don’t mind about when it was made though, I’d suggest the Addams Family movies. It’s cute, it’s fun, I love it. For horror films I’d say the basics, like Saw, Silent Hill, even REPO! The Genetic Opera if you are into musicals too. Other movies, well I like Charlie’s Angels (not the most recent one, it’s awful in my opinion), any Tim Burton film, I love them. What else? I think it’s enough.

26. Though I am acting like a 16-18 year old most times and when we get to deep conversations I might sound like an old lady about some things.

I guess I will die locked up in the hell that my informatics uni is. I absolutely hate it and I wish to drop it, but unless I get a job, I am having severe fears to do it, to announce it to my parents, since I am living with them, I got to be doing sth with my life you know? I am a loser, not much to be said. I am also studying Japanese, I am good at this, dunno if it’s good enough to pass the proficiency tests but it’s the only thing that’s moving forward in my life and I am holding on to it tight. I don’t have a job but I like considering myself an artist. I do photomanips and can edit videos (though I haven’t touched the latter in a long time). Generally graphics and stuff I can do but where to find a job for that in a country like mine that still lives centuries behind most countries and is mostly conservative as fuck. :D

Cold. Always cold.

Well I am generally considered unusual here, due to my opinions, beliefs, tastes etc. People from other countries I am talking with seem to find me way more normal than Greek people, I don’t know. I guess being straight and supporting LGBTQ+ people is crazy here. Liking horror is crazy if you invest yourself to it past watching movies for the scares (like, people have asked me why i like it so much if I don’t get scared and I am like “aesthetic xD“). I like very revealing clothes too (never wear them though cause i hate myself and also hate people’s attention) which many people find extreme here....what else. Oh and I loooove guys putting on makeup and having long beautiful hair ever since I was a little shit. These things are very unusual here for some reason. The question asked one fact I know but I feel like ranting so here you go xD.

Yes, but it doesn’t always show. (luckily) And I hate it cause it deprives me of many opportunities. Being shy i mean, not its not showing.

Yandere. Dunno why. Maybe because I am leaning more towards Tsundere myself. I tend to like crazy people. Though I don’t think I would be able to deal with Yandere people in real life.

Taking into consideration my health is generally good, that I have my basic necessities met, my mother is still around and I have access to a lot of music I’d say 4-5. But only due to these. I most definitely hate my life and don’t really want to be alive but I can’t be ungrateful and say that I don’t have those very basic things. I am grateful I have a roof above my head, food to eat, a mother who cares and lots of music to listen to.

I have around 15 locked blogs I never finished xD. Aaaall of them fanpages besides one I have for the graphics I use in my blogs and one for promoting a story I am writing. The open ones are REIGN’s fanpage @club-reign , the Valentine’s fanpage (which also has a couple of ex bands of the members) @fi-ance-trust-thevalentine both of which are mainly inactive and act as archived blogs for any fans who get to like these bands after their disband and for old fans to have sth to remember. My writeblr is @dotr-rose-love . Everything else is locked.

20. Is there anything you think people need to know about you before becoming friends with you?

I am a very pessimistic person who might go over and over the same subject if you ask to listen to me. So if you feel drained by people being sad about the same things often, don’t ask me to open up to you :P. We can talk with just you opening up ^^. Other than that I am a good listener but if we are not veeery close, I might not always be as responsive as you’d like me to be or as warm. I need time to show warmth. I am an open book about other things but yeah. And if we don’t click easily it might literally take years xD. I am fine with simple chats too just not too much small talk cause I suck at this. xD At some point you might feel like oh she doesn’t want to talk to me, but honestly it’s me having no idea what else to add. I’d rather us get straight to a deep conversation or sth xD. Sometimes I might also not have the energy to speak to anyone so I might take a day or two to reply, but definitely not a month. Oh and since this is a big theme I had an issue about before, I am pro-choice, so if we speak of love and you start trying to tell me to change my mind, you will most likely have me barking and in a really bad way.

I’ve just read some comments under Warsaw Comic Con Fanpage’s post where they announced Anna Shaffer and- MAN BASICALLY 90% OF THESE ARE JUST HORNY FUCKS THAT ARE CRYING OVER TRISS NOT BEING OVERSEXUALIZED AND GINGER, AND 9% ARE  COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SHOW BEING TOTTALLY CRAP CAUSE GERALT DIDN’T HAVE SCAR ON HIS FACE- ... Guys, You don’t like it then don’t watch it instead of being rude shits. Anna is absolutly beautiful and even though I imagined Triss a bit different in the books  I really liked the character in Netflix show. I read the books, I saw the movie, played the games, and I still enjoy the Netflix version. Why can’t you all just shut the fuck up and stop comparing the show to the games? i’m not sure where i’m going with this. but. re: the rpc, as a whole. and history. fandom history online. and the awful people that we seem to keep running into here.

it’s super easy to say that ‘back in the day’ things were ‘less toxic’ and that people just wrote what they wanted to write, because we’re human and we view the past through rose-colored glasses, and of course the simple days of YOUNGER TUMBLR will seem simple and innocent by comparison to what we have today, but that’s really only one part of the equation and to simplify it like that does a number of other factors a sincere injustice.

I’M guilty of bemoaning the lost past, too, and i’m never talking about the early days of tumblr rp because i only got involved here in...what...late 2013, at best, but i’ve been rping for 20+ years, kiddos, and i’ve seen a lot of shit in my time. when i talk about how great the rping world of the past is, what i’m talking about is a time before social media or platforms like this.

and yeah. things were simpler. period. because it WAS a simple place. the internet WAS a simple place. and i kid you not, there was a time when i rped via NOTEBOOKS, that weren’t even handed around, we CALLED EACH OTHER ON THE PHONE and READ OUR PAGES OUT TO EACH OTHER. usually using voices. then discussed where we thought the plot was going, and the next person took over, each of us responsible for writing a segment of scene with all of the characters involved, including each other’s ocs, because we trusted each other. godmodding? was a foreign concept. we did it as a matter of fact. transitioning to emails first was a huge deal. transitioning to emails and then posting our ‘chapters’ like a fanfic on a self-run fanpage was mindblowing. that people FOUND our websites and READ our writing was...man. i can’t even explain it.

this was a time before ao3. before ffn. (yeah, kiddos, I REMEMBER THE TIME BEFORE FFN.) fanfiction was posted on geocities or anglefire or tripod sites, or even better, on egroups mailing lists. and if you had a website, you damn well better know how to write html to make your site cutting edge or no one would bother with you. forget google image searches. forget screencapping from dvds for screencaps. you had to pray someone had a machine that hooked their vcr to their computer to screencap, and believe me when i say the quality of those screencaps was absolute garbage. your only other alternative was movie stills you got your hands on somehow and scanned into your computer via a scanner- which were mostly in local libraries, and not in your home. media? minimal. mp3s? hahahaha. edits/graphics? basic. as. shit. and mostly just text?? and done, i wish i was joking, using whatever basic program you had at hand. photoshop? never heard of her. but when i say you had better be able to write html? i mean it. and yeah, it was bare bones at the time. my knowledge of html, and by proxy, the way i interpret css, etc, comes from my ability to code my own very simple websites. anything fancier, and i was slinking off in shame to use whatever wysiwyg editor i could put my hands on.

your website’s layout mattered. your graphics did, to an extent, matter. your catalog of hoarded screencaps or related fandom material mattered. WHO YOU WROTE WITH mattered. because basically, your little circle of friends was it. branching out was difficult, and lonely. once you made a little group, you kept them. and there was drama, in little groups as there always is. i want to ship my oc with THAT canon muse, but so does suzy q. so i concede to keep the peace and go with another character. but everyone knows i’m not happy.

the thing is, though...yeah, there’s drama in little groups, but...when you’re buffered from everything else because all you ever see is your own little group...? you’re safe from other groups. it’s easy to see danger in a small group, because there’s only so many places to look. i was super lucky. the drama in my little group was minimal. i was easygoing. i never pushed back too hard. so my experience, in that time, through to the time of message boards, was only ever of small groups where i caused little serious drama or saw little serious drama, regardless of how big my little group got. (my little group actually got huge without my meaning it to, but that’s another story for another day and involves the new york times.)

the thing is...that isn’t the world we live in. we live in a world now where we’re all jammed together. it’s the fucking industrial revolution of the internet, and we’ve all gone from independent farms to living in the big city. we’re smothered with everyone else, and we put ourselves out there so much more because we’ve developed a collective concern with popularity, with follower counts. we’ve created an environment where we expose ourselves constantly, and let people in because we’re constantly engaging with a broad platform. 

the problem with this is that predators are so much harder to spot because they blend in with everyone else, like a serial killer just walkin the street. 

but, of course, when you see the bodies in someone’s crawlspace...call the cops. obviously.

all i know is that it’s 7am, and...these analogies made so much sense to me at the time.

aight before i continue watching and yelling about saint seiya lemme bitch a little about what happened yesterday

so yesterday was a fucking nightmare, specially considering that this whole semester was really calm ’cause i finally got my shit together and i worked at good times on every assignment. i’m not gonna lie, it wasn’t all perfect and i did procastinate a little here and there but i never really felt SUPER pressured and stressed.

well, it all went to shit since this past tuesday ‘cause of the ONE, THE ONE assignment that i was working on teams. srsly i understand my teammate like yeah we were working on a bunch of other stuff including an individual claymation project but DUDE PLEASE.

we were working on a cinematography project where we basically did shots and camera movements (as videos). the teacher told us to work on teams of 2 and since we’re working online classes he told us to split the work; one of us did the shots and the other editing. i asked and she said she wanted to do the shots and i was okay with that because i have more experience editing since i did that stupid majima fanpage.

she knew what the deadlines were for all the assignments, which were just parts for the final project and at the end it was just putting everything together as one whole video. and she had like a week inbetween assignments to work on them. she only had to go and do some shots and then send them to me.

she forgot to do it like everytime and sent everything very late to me so we were always turning in the work with one hour to spare. and i was like “hey, don’t do this ‘cause rendering times for the videos is a lot. please send me everything on time” and she was like “yeah sorry”.

the first time i forgave her ‘cause she did them wrong and then when i told her she had a panic attack and i was like “calm down we still got one day to turn everything in and like, it’s fine...” and then i did the shots and editing and that was okay. i’m used to it at this point.

the next couple of times she did the shots okay but she sent them super late, i managed to edit everything quickly and the render times weren’t that much.

welp that all changed with the last assignments. again, i pretty much did everything ‘cause we were missing 2 shots and this girl wasn’t sending me anything and i was like “WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS HOLY SHIT” so i did them.

the first video took 3 hours to render and that was a huge red flag for me, i was like “the final video is gonna take so long...... but i don’t think it’s gonna take more than the entire night or smth right???” iswtg i can feel all my ancestors yelling at me from the afterlife for being born the biggest fucking idiot in the world.

IT TOOK 22 HOURS.

when it first started it said “estimated time remaining 12 hours” and i was like “that has to be a joke right?? there’s no way??”

if i was smart i would’ve stopped it right there and changed settings so that it’d take less time.......... but i’m a fucking idiot so i didn’t and i waited it out. i was up all night checking up on it to see if the waiting times went down. it never did. but it was too late and i didn’t know what to do.

so yeah i sat down and waited for 22 fucking hours. i almost missed the deadline for another assignment and ugh it makes me physically sick to remember this shit so i’m shutting up now and i’m continuing watching saint seiya.

hopefully ikki will kick someone’s ass and that’ll make me feel better.
