actually fuck it let’s touch on it right now. people in this fandom love to pretend they’re not racists and then immediately show their asses. hating on armand through racist comments about how ugly or sexless or disgusting he is to other characters. acting like he must have manipulated or lied about anyone being attracted to him when canonically men put themselves in his terrifying torture mazes just for one chance. outright lying and saying everybody secretly hates him and wants him dead. and then also people falsely accusing louis of being armand’s jailer, pimp, abuser when it was a horrible toxic relationship on both sides they both elected to be in and let’s be real, armand had way more power than he wanted to admit to having. only giving a fuck about louis when they can center the conversation around lestat (often under the guise of genuine loustat love, which is totally different). arguing he’s goaded his partners to do the things they’ve done to him even when it’s clear both lestat and armand crossed lines that are fucked even by vampire relationship standards. seriously does anyone actually like this show and the characters in it or is it just “I’m just here for this dude and hate everyone else who doesn’t fit my specific narrative about what’s happening”?

very interesting how everyone says “gwen deserves better” about arthur despite the fact that gwen WILLINGLY chooses to wait for arthur. “arthur has to be king first” she literally falls in love with how much he loves the kingdom and admired his care for his people. it’s literally part of their story!! like everyone points out moments of gwen’s lack of agency and how it’s treated in canon (which is valid) but it’s very interesting how they don’t care about her agency in canon by saying this shit. “she deserves better” SHE LITERALLY WANTS TO BE WITH HIM!
