ohhh my god okay i rewatched jrwi 15-16 earlier because i miss it already + there’s no new ep this week and. gillion really does say that the undersea taught him that humans were greedy and selfish and not to be trusted. but he says right afterwards that he “chose not to believe it” (not exact wording but smth along those lines) which is like. ah.
you know that line from the wiki i found and really liked? fucking, “[gillion], in general, seems to like humans quite a bit?” he didn’t learn that completely from chip and jay, he’s had that implicit trust in humanity from the very beginning. his bond with chip and jay certainly helped grow that trust, sure, but he’s always held the belief that humans can be “more than what they say.” and that to me is just so. ugh i don’t know how to describe it. it’s just so special, i guess, that his whole life, he’s been taught that humans are the enemy and not to be spoken to and all that and even though he really has no reason to believe otherwise, he does. he chooses to ignore what they say and place trust in the inherent kindness of humanity.
gillion’s so good man. i love him and his character so much.
