I absolutely love CoE, and when I saw the potential following book I literally screamed in joy!!

I've been wanting to ask if, in the first book , we will be able to build a sort of character that gets us some interesting relationship dynamics with the ROs.

For example, my MC is the type to be cold and tactical with a mix of intimidation (thanks to not only their divinity but also the character themself) and confidence through their cunning mind. However, they have difficulties with letting people in / allowing themselves to open up to people, mostly because they fear the connection they create with people will end up hurting both them and their loved ones, just like they have been hurt and taken away before. They're also the type of character to be hurt but not let themselves show it. Instead, they bottle it up like every other time and just let it all eat away at him, making him feel hollow and hopeless, to the point where they believe that they have no worth for anybody.

However, they still care about the people around them and stick by their side. When someone shows goodness to them, they're loyal and always put themselves before others to protect the people they care about, not only because of their personal morals, but because they have given themselves a duty, a purpose to continue not only living, but thriving to protect and provide for the people they deeply care about, even if they don't show it through words or physical signs and expressions.

And that's where Irus fs it up. Because not only does the MC feel the need to fulfill their father's duty and avenge their death no matter WHAT, but they also have to deal with the fact that the more time they spend with the exiled prince, the less they remember to keep their walls up. And by the time they have a dancing sesh with Irus, oh how absolutely they realize their love for the sweet dork.

Of course, this is a big depressive NO NO for them.

(Halfway through this, I realized I could've just written this on the notes app, but laziness came over me, and I just decided to write whatever I could formulate)

(Also, I'm not sure yet if I want to make my MC a cis or trans male, that's why I'm using they/them Pronouns for the MC for now, since i used ElenaA's Windswept Oc Maker to make MC, whose features came out more on the feminine side in the end)

You can certainly headcanon a complicated character. Unfortunately, I don't track personality stats because I want players to respond however they feel suits them best in the moment. This means I only track specific decisions of previous choices so the ROs and other characters will comment on those decisions, but not on whether the MC was cold and aloof but is now warm and open with them.

Of course, you can choose stoic responses early on but then choose more open and warmer responses later on. I will be going back to add more flirt options like a friendly flirt option and a more stoic/aloof flirt option but that will come during edits because it's easier to do a shy/bold flirt option for now.

I like to think that there has been a gradual progression of the MC's character development from Chapter One to Chapter Eight, so it's something that you can imagine for yourself 😊

I like to think that any connection we make whether it be through the internet or in person, there is always a reason for it, this person could be the gateway to you understanding how you’d like to be treated in the future by your next partners and future spouse. I’m a pretty big fan of demi-ro Papyrus hcs, but that he’s also a romantic at the same time! So I imagine this manifesting as getting crushes really easily, sort of wanting to have a crush on someone, liking the idea of being in a relationship, but in reality, gets cold feet really quick when actually faced with flirting/being asked out/asking someone else out/etc. On one hand, this means he catches feelings incredibly easy when it comes to crushes, but real feelings, actually feeling comfortable with pursuing more, would probably take some time to work up to. It would be best for him to develop a solid friendship with them first, and see where things go from there!

With HT Papyrus though… I would imagine he’d have a much harder time developing any feelings regardless, since I usually hc he becomes a little reclusive on the surface. After a recovery period, once he’d feel…a little more alright with being around humans, he’d probably like to go out and just walk around, be out and enjoying the scenery, but spending time actually interacting with others, regardless of if they’re monster or human, would be limited to brief interactions. I believe he’d still be a romantic, might even wind up amassing a slight collection of romance novels and movies to indulge in, but I think it’d take a lot of time and seeing someone/interacting with them routinely for him to warm up to even just true friendship! - I have been writing on Chapter 6, while still gradually editing Chapter 5 since it is longer (70k). I’m on J’s section in Chapter 5 now, then will do JR and the dun-dun-dun moment that plays out differently with each RO. There is a lot of variation, but that makes re-reading it fun too. - I added a second choice relating to Chief Bowers to further allow your MC’s personality to come into play and see how the other characters react to how handle something. They will have their own opinions about events and you will see those differences in Chapter 6. It took me some time to add the extra choice because there are like 7 to 8 reactions/full scenes on top of the initial way you interact with her. - I’m really excited for the interactions with A; there are quite a few variables and combinations that impact how the exchange goes. - So, yep, just writing and editing. I want to get back to writing for longer lengths of time, which will be my goal for next week. -Edit: I forgot to mention I am adding the tag: ‘fs reblogs’ to inspo posts. Masochistic M: an icy chill creeps through the table M drums their fingers on. Crackling frost spiderwebs over the surface of the wood as they hold a fixed smile to the interloper. "I...don't like...you..."

Insanity Raven: a thin line of blood spatters onto a nearby wall as Ravan draws a line through the air, following through their earlier cut. Their pupils expand as their hand smoothly turns the knife around for a secondary cut, their smile splitting their face harshly. "There's no point playing with filthy food..."

Raven Therapy: They stick close to you, almost leaning on you as the interloper attempts to get close. You see their hands twitch and hear their breathing rapidly escalate. They move suddenly, and you think theyve lashed out, but instead theyve wrapped their arms around you, "We're married, go away!"

Royalty F: They narrow their eyes but keep a fixed, snake-like smile as they find the interloper trying to talk to you. "I find no greater pleasure in witnessing such a grand display of attempted courtship." They snap their fingers and the interloper is restrained by several guards. The smile on Fs face stays apparent, but the tone becomes sinister, "Execute them."

if the ROs were high school students, what kinds of students would they be? straight As or straight Fs? Honors student or slacker?

Blade would be a straight A student who would effortlessly excel at everything without trying very hard. Then one day he inevitably runs into a subject that he sucks at, is too proud to ask for help, and spirals down into an existential crisis. Girls slip love notes into his locker and he thinks they’re meant for someone else and just like… leaves them there waiting for the day someone comes looking for them

Trouble is a whole dumbass class clown and everyone thinks he’s an idiot. Then one day a big project gets assigned and he procrastinates, slacks off, looks like he’s not even going to turn it in… then at the last minute he produces a surprisingly coherent and lucid paper and it turns out he’s actually pretty smart, shaking everybody to their core. His grades are pretty decent but he actively tries to act like they’re not to seem cool!

Shery is a straight A bookworm who reads quietly at her desk during lunch and takes diligent notes. The more popular kids pressure her into giving them her notes or making study guides for them, and she’s too polite to say no. Out of the kindness of her heart she tutors dummies like Chase after school in the library!

Tallys is a diligent student about topics that interest her, just so-so about things that do not. She gets A’s and B’s but is just quietly waiting for the day they graduate because grades don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things and she’s looking forward to doing things that count. She’s very good at biology and health class, though!

Chase is a whole dumbass class clown who actually does slack off and has abysmal grades. It’s not that he’s not intelligent, it’s just that his attention span doesn’t last long enough for him to absorb anything, and he spends all of his time goofing off with Trouble and going on dates. If he gets straight C’s, that’s a good semester for him.

Riel is the insufferable valedictorian of the class. Always is #1 in the grade curve, #1 in test taking, gets a perfect score on his SATs. He’s the student council president and a militant rule-enforcer and definitely tells on people when they smoke in the bathroom. He’s the kind of person who asks you what grade you got on your essay just to make sure you didn’t best his score somehow.

Red is salutatorian, but unlike Riel he’s popular and tries to help others improve their grades by hosting study groups at his house, or something. He’s the kind of guy who casually walks past you and taps your cheek with an ice-cold can of tea he bought at the vending machine and goes gently, “Be sure to hydrate!” and you like instantly have a crush on him even though that’s the only time you’ve ever spoken.

Ayla has pretty horrible grades (Cs and Ds, Bs when she’s trying) because she’s solely focused on her athletic career and doesn’t have time to worry about stupid classes. She’s a track star and needs that track scholarship to go to college! Math doesn’t do a damn thing for you when you run!!

Lavinet is on the honor roll and has a good head on her shoulders, but she definitely needs help with certain subjects and pays people like Red and Shery with gifts and Brazilian blowouts for tutoring her out of the kindness of their hearts. She’s more about having a diverse array of extracurriculars under her belt than wanting to excel in academics alone, and she sports an impressive resume of running fundraisers, starting class festivals, and etc. instead of all A-pluses. All A’s and the occasional B is good enough for her!

Japanese vocab with Yuzuru - Day 5

I was gonna stay on the “skating/jumping” topic for a few days more, but since some interesting interview answers from Yuzuru are out, I decided to mix things up a little bit :D 

1. 成長（せいちょう｜sei-chou) growth

As I’ve said in Day 3, for many nouns, you can add the verb ‘to do’: する(suru - present tense), できる(dekiru - can do) to turn it into a verb. For example, 成長できる (sei-cho-de-ki-ru) means to be able to grow/mature/make progress

2. 続ける（つづける｜tsu-zu-ke-ru) to continue, to keep on doing
