A prevent theory thing I have that I get remined of whenever someone makes a parallel with a hollowhead and Alan is that every one of the hollowheads have a bit of Alan inside of them just from being made by him. They are all so much like him in so many different ways. Weather they like it or not.

Their is something about that. I want to do *something* with that theme and idea but I have no idea what so I’m just gonna give it to you cus you seem like you would like it.

I’ve actually theorized for a while that Orange is sort of an unintended avatar/‘sona for c!Alan.

It’s why he came to life when Alan hadn’t intended him to live.

It’s why Orange seemed to know so much about the human world outside the computer despite only having just been born (why would he know that calling 911 when it wasn’t a real emergency would get Alan in trouble?? how would any stick know that? Why does his first attempt to fight back involve sabotaging Alan’s social life?) while understanding comparatively little about the computer he’s actually on (he’s instantaneously familiar with the art program in a way that he isn’t with anything else on the desktop, unlike Chosen and Dark before him who don’t need to take any time to understand how anything works).

It’s why they have similar strengths/flaws when it comes to solving/escalating conflict.

It’s why Orange is the only one of Alan’s sticks who’s communicated with text-speech.

tl;dr DJ commented in an AvG video that Orange is basically just Alan in miniature and I went “okay but what if actually though” XD

But that aside, I’m curious about the other three handdrawns now. What of their creator have you noticed in Alan’s other sticks?

Some lil updates

I’ve been so IA on here and I sincerely apologize!! Life has kept me busy and away, with very little time to write. I just wanted to take a moment to thank and greet all my new followers. I can’t believe you all gave this little account 300 followers TT-TT I’m so grateful to each of you and I hope to repay you with posting a fic soon! Here's a little update on how my writing process has been:

No Good Deed - Originally a one shot but has turned into a full blown series oof. The more I wrote, the more I realized I wanted to flesh the plot out more and I ended up adding subplot after subplot. Not wanting to get rid of my ideas, I decided I’ll just go with it and turn NGD into a series. It’ll probably be anywhere from 5-8 chapters?  

The Man in the Mask - Thinking of renaming it? Either Art of Deception or Master of Illusion. Not sure though. Still a one shot, but a VERY long one rip

The Strange Case of Dr. Park and Baby Jay - Outline is complete! And I wrote a few pages already. I like the direction it’s going in and I’m really optimistic for this fic!

My personal favorite author is paganpunk2. They write the most adorable batfam (though mostly Bruce and younger Dick). I would start with Firework which is a retelling of Dick’s first year at Wayne Manor and the rest are listed on her blog.

Where’s Robin and Without Me (one story told from two different perspectives, would start with WM) is also super cute. It’s by Glimare who also has written a ton of excellent one-shots. Robin is sent to an AU where there never were sidekicks. Also Hostages, Hero’s Debt and Necessary Lies are very enjoyable. Daddy, not Bats is interesting. It’s if Bruce adopted all his kids when they were younger and, to care for them, gave up being Batman.

Roots is the start of a series by TV Maniac 2. It’s how YJ Robin ended up with Batman. Yes, this story is 1st person from Dick’s POV but just stick with it, it’s worth it.  First story in a while I stayed up late into the night to finish. Subsequent stories in the series are Hooked, Identity, Fragility and Loyalty is still ongoing.

Father by Lawless67 is really great showing each time the kids call Bruce dad for the first time

Also No Good Deed and Charades by Black Friar are particularly heart-wrenching. In NGD, Dick is taken from Bruce due to abuse accusations and the other Dick is kidnapped (again), really good dad bruce

Linchpin by Tiger Lily Roar is honestly amazing and read it and it’s short sequel Family Matters- A linchpin interlude. Like wow. I can’t even describe (Buried by her is also another intense Dick kidnapped story)

Pressing Matters, (More) Pressing matters by Sly are really cute just adopted Dick stories with a loving daddybats. I also like (Un)fortunate Son where Dick takes Dami and runs to safety before BI #8 instead of letting Bruce hand over Damian to Talia (sadly it’s unlikely to be finished)

WorldsGreatestDefective (Totally read I’ll Follow You Anywhere, The More Things Change and Dodge of my fav FF interpretation of tiny Jason)

Young Justice: Darkness Falls and Young Justice: Titans by Angelus-v1 is SUPER good. It’s a proposed season 3 and 4 of YJ and it’s very detailed plots involving so much from actual comics plus adding it’s own little fun things in. YJ:T is just finishing up and damn is it great.

Trepidation and Worth by sidekick heroisms are both very short, nice stories

 FinalArc writes some really good interesting batfam with a really realistic, complex Bruce who tries and fails, a lot. Totally read Instinct, Citation, Bumper Stickers, Paved with Good Intentions, It’s the Thought That Counts is really super cute

How We Fall by Skylark Evanson is a LONG story of Robin coping if Bruce died sometime during YJ.

Officer Calling 1080 by A Tragic Galaxy is very fun where Robin gets pulled over for speeding by a naïve cop, Bruce is very protective.

Weezila does great stuff with Brothers, Show-off, Twenty Bucks, Flying Lessons also Three Little Birds is a great AU

midnightluck  is the master of simply spoken but impactful one-shots. A Good Plan, A halo for your finger, Cause Walking Gets too Boring, dare not meet in dreams, just like bad wallpaper, The Circus Crime Protection Squad

Hey guys! I’m so sorry it has been MONTHS since I’ve updated and I’m still not done with the next chap (but am VERY close, I’ve just been super stuck at this one part but you will certainly get the next chap before the end of June).

A LOT has happened these past months: I moved, I graduated university cum laude (which turned my brain into a burnt lil crisp floating around in my noggin so I’ve been super exhausted), and I’ve been doing a lot of mental healing (some physical and I’m with a new doctor so things are looking up).

Writing in general has been hard, mainly because that it was my major so the burn out feels ✨personal✨ and exams/assignments have been A LOT. But I’ve got a lot to look forward to this month like my grad commencement/celebration, then pal-ing around my city’s pride fest and parade with my amazing queer friends! So in short- things are fine, I’m just tired lmao.

ANYWAY, this story is huge and it’s all me. I don’t have any beta readers or anyone to spitball ideas with so of course I thrive off of the feedback and comments I’ve gotten so far!

I also have lots of plans in the works! The ending has been figured out AND there’s going to be an epilogue that I’m SO stoked for (especially what I’ve written for Kaede)!

Why I'm Writing NO GOOD DEED: Series 2 RANT!

Look, I thought series 2 was fun and I liked it but HOT DAMN am I the only one left all kinds of unsatisfied??? Like it's cool they gave us an ending to the story (of sorts) BUT I found it kinda disappointing, the grit from the first series missing, and there were quite a few loose ends that weren't tied up (especially concerning Ouroboros).

Maybe it's because of ALL the other hero media I consume (mainly DC, The Boys, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Moon Knight) that I found it lacking and rushed in some parts, story and action wise. Instead of a meaningful backstory for Wild Tiger, where we got to see old villains, childhood/teenage years, and early hero accomplishments - we got a season of friendship episodes, confusing Yuri/Jake look-alike twins with a rushed and random-feeling Golden Ryan backstory.

Nothing against Ryan here, the new season actually made me LOVE him, but I would have MUCH RATHER seen old Wild Tiger villains want revenge and see Kotetsu rise to the top again, or something akin to the Batman: Arkham Knight storyline where some villain is like 'you're old, you're predictable, and I KNOW how to beat you!'. I would have liked to see the roles between Kotetsu and Barnaby switch, where now Barnaby is in the support/advisory role to help his partner put his old villains back in prison.

I also think L.L. Audun would not have felt like such a random obstacle if he was an old Wild Tiger villain. Like, he could have been THE arrest that got Wild Tiger a King of Heroes crown, as just five minutes was all he needed to take this limitless Hundred Power vigilante out. So then we get to see: can he do it again with just ONE minute this time? The face off would have made more sense and been edge-of-your-seat cooler all around. We also would have actually gotten to know L.L. Audun so much more, and he would have been the antithesis of Mr. Legend (who also had Hundred Power) for Kotetsu as well.

With Lunatic, I honestly wanted his identity to remain secret or at least revealed in a much more meaningful way, see what happened after Yuri killed his father, see his vigilante job become more complicated the closer he is to Wild Tiger, and not make himself well-done and crispy. But also, you're gonna tell me this guy WOULDN'T have a gang of supporters?? The same with L.L.A! There are A LOT of people who believe horrible criminals should just be put to death to stop tragedies from ever happening again!

Not to mention ALL the baiting of Barnaby promising to make Kotetsu fried rice, the two going out for drinks, and NEVER getting to see either! LIKE COME ON! If the second series was about Wild Tiger as much as it was about Barnaby in the first series, it would have been so cool to see them get closer as Barnaby learns more about his partner's past, and in the process, learn more about heroism that wasn't academy produced.

And the fact that Kotetsu being almost forty and having no powers being the reason he ends up retiring is just SO FRUSTRATING TO ME!! I also know he was passing the mantle to Barnaby, but jfc can Barnaby (and the blond characters in general) STOP being the writers' favourite character(s) for one goddamn minute? Like I KNEW from MILES AWAY that he was gonna somehow still be a great hero, continue to have the most 'cool' moments, continue to have more positive attention, and Kotetsu was going to end up having to leave AGAIN.

Dude doesn't NEED powers or be 20-something to be a hero (COUGH BATMAN, WILDCAT (he's OLDER THAN KOTETSU), CATWOMAN, ROBIN, NIGHTWING, REDHOOD, GREEN ARROW, BATGIRL COUGH). I mean, you know how POWERFUL it could have been if Kotetsu was the first powerless hero? Who, now that he was back on the saddle, is kicking ass REGARDLESS?

But NO, we get: no skeletons in his closet, no villains of his own who want revenge, not nearly as much backstory as Barnaby, no backstory on his friendship with Antonio, nothing on how he met/rescued his wife in high school, nothing on how he got to be on HeroTV, nothing about his first KOH crown, he ends up retiring AGAIN, his daughter will most likely not even make it on HeroTV since she's powerless for the most part because she can only copy people's powers ONCE, and we got baited with a possible serum to bring Kotetsu's powers back but got NOTHING!

A LOAD OF BARNACLES!

SO, I am writing NO GOOD DEED: OLD FRIENDS AND FOES to provide literally everything I wanted out of the new season above that we didn't get (and dare I say SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN) because instead they gave us: random new hero kids no one asked for, Oprah Winfrey Yelling 'AND YOU GET A PARTNER AND YOU GET A PARTNER', Creepy The Shining Twins, and Booster Gold Knock-Off VS Space Dandy's Creepy Uncle.

If you're interested in Wild Tiger facing off against old villains, Barnaby making him fried rice, Lunatic gaining a following and blurring the line of being Kotetsu's opposition, future hero plans for Kaede, Kotetsu getting back on top, first series loose end ties/callbacks, and some BACKSTORY HOLY MOLY: then I hope you'll give my story a shot! Each chapter is about 10K-15K words and so far there are 15 out of 20 chapters!

(while there are OC's, they are DEF not the main focus, the story is Kotetsu-centric written in 3rd person, and there's some canon divergence that is coming more towards the end because MAYBE Kotetsu and Kaede don't need HeroTV to be a hero!)

Howdy, partners!

SO chapter 13 is coming along nicely!! It's taking me a bit longer this time around because I've had projects and essays for my college courses back to back for the past couple of weeks AND this chapter I'm predicting is going to be longer than the last!

I'm about halfway there and aiming to have 13 up sometime this week!

In terms of having a voice narration, that will happen some time after the story comes to a finish! But I'm definitely really excited to get started because I'm ALL ABOUT making things as accessible as possible! I honestly wish I spoke fluently in another language other than English to make this story even more accessible...

Lastly, visuals and drawings for this story will be coming soon! Just haven't had a lot of time to pick up my stylus as much as I want.

Chapter 12

Chapter 1

SYNOPSIS:

Wild Tiger's old villains decide to make a comeback when they're released from prison and plot to get revenge on the city as well as the old man.

After No Good Deed, will there be a fic on how Kotetsu became an Invisible Crusader (also because I crave so much for this lore for Kotetsu!)

OMG IT'S ANOTHER ASK AAAAAAAAH!! HOWDY!!! HIIIIIIIII! (I seriously squealed when I saw this come up)

So, I don't have plans currently in the works for an IC fic for Kotetsu, but I do have scenes and ideas in my noggin so...maybe? I'm not exactly sure, I think I'd have to sit down and write these ideas/scenes out, then see where it leads. That's how I usually start my writing progress because I want to make sure I can make a full story.

BUT I know that it will be about Kotetsu being a complete noob to heroism and how certain events shape his view of what heroism should be in the future. Because he'd get into fights in his youth in canon (to such a point he gained a reputation for being undefeated), he learns that being a hero is more than just fisticuffs, that it's far more complicated than that and it also involves a great deal of compassion/restraint (to civilians AND criminals).

Also getting used to the weight of being hero; how time consuming it is, how traumatizing it can be, and how physically taxing it is. I have this scene in my head of Kotetsu and Tomoe arguing because she's watching him struggle with the weight, seeing him become more serious/subdued and neglectful of himself and taking on injury after injury (because noob). She doesn't think it's good for him and at the very least, wants him to take a break and think about being a hero more. But, Kotetsu's too determined to push through and keep going because he's doing what he loves (but now also feels he's obligated to keep doing).

Another clash between them is when Kotetsu starts getting that tunnel vision of 'nothing else matters but helping people' to the point that he starts neglecting his personal life. So now he has to find balance which is really hard because having that tunnel vision is what is helping him deal with the weight.

As far as this lore would go, I think it would start with Kotetsu and Tomoe, engaged, and moving to Sternbild for the very first time. They want to leave Oriental Town mostly because of it being anti-NEXT/boring farm country and I've written that Tomoe's parents were against her being with him because he's a NEXT so all the more reason for them to start a new life together. Tomoe is attending University of Sternbild and works as an assistant kendo instructor or tutor for K-12 students to help pay for tuition/rent. Kotetsu applies for HeroTV, gets rejected, maybe works as a bored security guard, and while reading the newspaper, sees an article about the IC program. In the next chapter of No Good Deed, I actually have written MORE past lore for Kotetsu that will also really help shape more context for an IC fic (and maybe some canon behaviours) so...IT'S POSSIBLE, IT'S DOABLE, I THINK.

I'm not sure WHEN I'd post it since I have written some things out for two other Tiger & Bunny fics that I hope will be in the editing phase once I've finished No Good Deed (and I'm VERY excited for both of them). But honestly, depending on how inspired I am, I could end up getting sucked into the IC fic instead so WHO KNOWS.

Overall Synopsis:

NO GOOD DEED: OLD FRIENDS AND FOES is a fic about Wild Tiger's old villains deciding to seek revenge on him and all of Sternbild many years later after serving their sentences in prison. This is what I wanted out of the new season but didn't get so I just made it myself! It's a love letter to Kotetsu and his experience! It's EXTREMELY canon compliant (as I've watch T&B too many times) and is DC inspired.
