I was rewatching the Zenos cutscenes and came to the conclusion, that no, it's not him being unhinged, or the down bad awful childhood, or the possible experiments on him, or the constant boredom ((which I would love to attribute to some mental health stuff, but refuse to)) or the nightmares that make him weirdly obsessed with the WoL.
