Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Pages 11403: The Effect of Phosphorus Fertilization on Transcriptome Expression Profile during Lentil Pod and Seed Development
Seed coat hardness and water permeability, which are determined by the accumulation of tannins through the phenylpropanoid pathway in the seed, are important lentil quality characteristics. The impact of seeds’ developmental stage and phosphorus (P) fertilization levels on tannin accumulation is still under research. Through #RNA sequencing, this study explored the effect of three P treatments (P0, 6 mg kg−1; P1, 15 mg kg−1; and P2, 21 mg kg−1) and three seed maturity stages (S1, immature 2 mm seed in a flat pod; S2, fully developed seed within the pod; and S3, mature seed at the beginning of the pod’s discoloration) on lentil gene expression. The key findings highlighted a significant influence of the seed maturity stage on phenylpropanoid genes, with S1 displaying the highest expression levels, and on phosphorus-related Gene Ontology (GO) terms that presented the highest number of downregulated genes in the S3 to S1 comparison. P exhibited a targeted effect on the flavanone 3-hydroxylase (F3H) and flavonol synthase (FLS) genes and specific gene clusters, as shown by the differential gene expression analysis. This study investigates the molecular mechanisms related to phosphorus fertilization and seed maturity stages that influence tannin accumulation, offering valuable information for the enhancement of lentil product quality through breeding programs. https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/13/20/11403?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr

SNGF: Which Ancestor Lived the Shortest Life
Tonight’s Saturday Night Genealogy Fun task set forth by Randy Seaver at Genea-Musings is as follows:
“Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along - cue the Mission Impossible music!):
1) Which of your known ancestors lived the shortest life? Consider only the last eight generations and those ancestors with a known birth and death date. Do you know the cause of death? Was there an obituary? How many children did s/he have? How did you figure this out?
2) Write your own blog post, or leave a comment on this post, or write something on Facebook.”
My maternal grandfather, John Henry Willis, Jr., had the shortest lifespan of my direct ancestors.
John Henry Willis, Jr. was born 6 May 1889 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.[1] He married Arnita Harris (1889-1980) on 30 October 1907 in Mobile.[2] They had five children, three sons and twin daughters born between 1908 and 1912. During his lifetime, John Henry worked as a plasterer.[3]
John Henry Willis, Jr. died on 15 January 1917 at the age of 27 years, 8 months and 9 days. According to my grandmother her husband, John Henry, was on a job painting a bridge when he supposedly slipped and fell from the bridge.
The death certificate for John Willis, Jr. states the cause of death as “drowned - accidentally”.[4]
John Henry Willis, Jr. is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile. His grave marker incorrectly gives his date of death as 16 January 1917.[5]
Tonight’s assignment was very easy to determine. I only have a known birth and death date for eleven of my direct line ancestors. Plus I have known since childhood that my grandfather had a tragically short life. It was easy to eyeball my tree to confirm John Henry Willis, Jr. as my ancestor with the shortest lifespan.

cumulus is a X-32 JSF (sorry for the boeing but its literally her)
cirrus is this thing. Bayraktar Akıncı. the only unmanned thing on this list but im making an exception for her. also bayraktars are sooo sexy
mountain is a Su-57. cant explain this one

You've been getting a lot of anons mentioning the "Assassin's Creed" games to you, so here's two more: "Fire Emblem: Three Houses" and "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty". In F3H, there is a hint of stepsiblings incest (Edelgard had a childhood crush on Dimitri, who are stepsiblings) and there's something of a distant relative thing going with a female character named Ingrid and Dimitri and Claude. In MGS2, Otacon slept with his stepmother, and his stepsister Emma was in love with him.
I believe I'm hearing about all of these for the first time. That's a lot of canon stepcest, awesome. Thank you!

Found on Wikipedia as I was looking for the F2H:
Three types of McDonnell fighters in flight from Naval Air Station Oakland (USA), circa 1959: a F2H-3 Banshee (BuNo 126436) of NARTU Oakland, an F3H-2 Demon (BuNo 145233), and a pre-production F4H-1F Phantom II (BuNo 143390).
The F4H-1F 143390 later caught fire on takeoff from NAS China Lake on 13 August 1961. The pilot ejected safely.
