Not finding much info about Eye Magazine, which published collections of artist editions and copy art in the 1980s. Except for Eye #14 (1986), which included unique editions by Karen Finley and David Hammons.
Tumblr media
The Hammons edition, The Man Nobody Killed, a stencil portrait of murdered artist Michael Stewart, is often removed from the magazine and sold on its own. Which is lame.

At Dinnick & Howells, we do a lot of broadcast graphics for National Geographic programs, having done 6+ seasons of Europe from Above, World War II Secrets from Above, Defending Europe, and several others. The typeface that we've been required to use for all those dozens and dozens (and dozens) of Europe from Above maps is called Geograph Edit. I didn't know who created this font until this morning, flipping through the pages of the new EYE magazine, and spotting an ad for Klim Type Foundry. Visiting their site, I discovered that Geograph font is theirs, created by their founder Kris Sowersby!

“I have trouble rolling my "r's" in High Valyrian. But that turned out interesting since Aemond doesn't flower up this beautiful language. He uses the language more lethally. The Council meeting is very much a public shaming, but switching to High Valyrian allows Aegon to save face, since only the two brothers understand it. It allows Aegon to recover.”
EWAN MITCHELL — about speaking high valyrian in episode four.

when i played disco elysium for the first time i was so sure you could take a picture with kim. because in the game they tell you that kims camera can only make two photos, so naturally i was like OKAY kim, take a picture of that dead guy and after lets make a selfie together<33 turns out there is a much more important photo to take, but maybe they could take a selfie together on a more meaningful occasion for both of them :)

So what youre saying is.... If, in the movie, the pre-50 year stasis took place in the mid 70's, and If nothing had happened to Maria and shadow ......
Shadow could have experienced the Gothic movement in the 80s.....

EWAN MITCHELL — talking about matt smith.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He used to watch Doctor Who with his grandmother.
Idolising Smith-as-the-Doctor turned out to be very useful for playing Aemond, who idolises Smith-as-Daemon.
It is, admittedly, a complicated relationship: Aemond imitates, reveres and despises his uncle.
“I thought there was something interesting in never taking Matt off that podium.”
“I just kept him there, from where I saw him as a kid.”
He found it so interesting, in fact, that he spoke to showrunner Condal and proposed avoiding Smith on set so that the they would only ever interact in character. Smith was up for it.
There is a resemblance between the actors, something noted by his grandmother then and by me now.
about the scene from episode 8, season one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“That was the first time I’d looked at Matt or Daemon for longer than three of four seconds.”
“It was lightning in a bottle.”
“We have these two sides of the family, so I don’t really see him.”
“There’s a romance to it in a weird way.”
