Thoughts on what happens after the Truman Show
He changes his name as soon as he knows that people can change names. Anything to distance himself from the show
At first, reporters and psychologists swarm him at every opportunity but he won't respond. He won't say anything to them. Until years and years later when he tells everyone what it was really like.
He's constantly surprised by things. How small and distant the moon looks. The strange nonchalance of an unscripted conversation. Food from different cultures. How the weather changes gradually instead of just switching on and off.
When he first saw CCTV cameras everywhere, he started to think it was all an elaborate trick until it was explained to him what they were actually for. Even so... sometimes he wonders.
Everyone knows his name which is extremely jarring
He lives with Sylvia and she tries to help integrate him into the real world. It's a difficult journey, but eventually he makes it.
He's astounded by the sheer depth of freedom he has. He can walk down that path he hasn't been down before. He can travel wherever he wants. The whole world is at his fingertips.
He becomes an explorer and tries his best to reach every part of the world. He's still scared of open water, but there's something about the sailing that comforts him, in a way. There's so much open, free space
Truman doesn't watch TV. He tried but it resulted in a very bad panic attack
Panic attacks are not that uncommon
Sometimes he has to check if the people he's talking to have earpieces or not just to reassure himself
There's so much music out there that isn't classical?!
He likes how everyone dresses differently to each other.
He finally gets to go to Fiji!

"I've got a text!"
Those four words can strike fear into the hearts of any islander. Sometimes it's good news, other times it's the most stressful fire pit of your life. You were lounging by the pool when you heard a familiar chime from your phone, and your heart nearly jumped out of your chest.
Everyone's heads snapped up at your announcement, suddenly filled with nervous energy. You gulped, trying to remain calm as you read the words on the screen.
_____, put on your cutest outfit because you're going on a date! There's a new bombshell in the villa and he's got his sights set on you. #ChampagneAndChill #TheBombDotCom
You gasped, your nerves replaced with excitement. The villa erupted in cheers, especially from your besties, Phoebe and Nora. You'd coupled up with Miles recently, and he was very cute and charming, but the relationship had cooled off pretty quickly. Now Miles had his eye on the newest bombshell, Madelyn.
All the girls followed you inside, ready to help you look your absolute best for the new bombshell. Phoebe did your makeup, Nora curled your hair, and Madelyn lent you a cute pink floral print sundress. Everyone oohed and aahed at your date look, and you felt a warmth in your heart from all the ladies hyping you up.
As you walked out of the villa, you couldn't help feeling anxiety in the pit of your stomach. You'd been in two different couples, and neither had worked out how you'd hoped. What if things fizzled out with the new bombshell as well? You'd been having a great time in Fiji for sure, enjoying the gorgeous views and laughing with your new pals, but this wasn't Friendship Island. If you weren't able to find a true romantic connection in here, you were screwed.
You showed up to an impressive spread: a charcuterie board with a delicious assortment of cheeses, fruit, and crackers, plus a bottle of champagne glinting in the sun. Oh well, if the date didn't give you fireworks, at least you got a tasty meal out of it.
You sat down and absentmindedly tapped your fingers against the table, the anticipation in your gut ready to bubble over at any second. And then...he showed up.
Rafe Cameron.
Your breath caught in your throat. When Rafe had sauntered into the villa as a bombshell about two weeks ago, you were instantly smitten with the dirty blonde-haired man. He'd picked you for one of his dates and the two of you had hit it off, the banter flowing effortlessly. But you also noticed that he was into Zoey, and you felt like you should take a step back and let them explore their connection. It still stung a little when he chose her at the recoupling, though.
Then Zoey's head got turned by a new guy, Bennett, and Rafe was sent packing. His exit had affected you more than you wanted to admit. At the time, you were still in your original couple with Jack, and while you still had some feelings for him, the relationship felt like it would run its course soon. You started wondering about the "what-ifs" with Rafe, though you tried hard to push those thoughts out of your head.
But now, Rafe was back, greeting you with a "Hey there, princess" and a lazy grin. Your head was spinning. Was this really happening? You almost wanted to pinch yourself to make sure this wasn't some fantasy you would wake up from in a cold sweat.
You squealed, launching yourself into Rafe's arms. He looked down at you fondly before wrapping his arms around you, pulling you close to your chest while he buried his nose in your hair.
"I can't believe you're here," you gasped, inhaling his scent. He still smelled like Rafe - a nice, woodsy cologne scent, plus whatever product he put in his hair that kept it looking so perfect. He smelled so good and felt so warm - it was almost enough to overwhelm you.
You and Rafe finally broke apart, sitting down to eat and talk. "I'm sorry, I'm still trying to process this," you apologized, chuckling.
Rafe smiled softly, taking a sip of his champagne. "Honestly, when I was leaving the villa and giving my exit interview, I said I regretted not giving you more of a chance. When I got the chance to come back, I jumped on it."
Your heart felt like it might burst. "I honestly wasn't sure if you were into me, you know? I thought we had a great date, but I saw how you and Zoey were vibing, so I thought I would let y'all explore that. But when you left - I was pretty sad, not gonna lie. I've never felt so heartbroken about anyone leaving the villa before."
Rafe reached across the table and took one of your hands in his, stroking the side of your palm with his thumb. "You were coupled up with Jack and I didn't want to interfere with that," he explained. "And don't get me wrong, Zoey was cool, but I couldn't help wondering if I should've explored my connection with you more."
You were over the moon. "Well, cheers to second chances!" you said, raising your glass. Rafe shot you a tender glance before clinking his glass against yours.
The rest of the date flowed smoothly, with both of you falling back into a casual back-and-forth filled with banter and giggles. You loved how easy it felt to talk to Rafe. You silently hoped this date would never end because you could listen to him for hours.
You were about to finish the last of your champagne when your phone dinged with a text.
______, now you must make a choice: return to the villa coupled up with Rafe, or come back alone. #DiffuseTheBomb #RafeYourVoice
"Geez, this is such a hard decision!" You tapped your chin with your index finger, pretending to ponder it over.
Rafe rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "You're such a goof."
"But I'm your goof," you countered, giving him a peck on the lips. "Let's go, I already know the others are gonna lose their shit when they see us together."
Rafe beamed, helping you get up from your chair and lovingly squeezing your hand while walking back to the villa.
"Deciding to couple up with Rafe was the easiest decision I've ever made in here," you said in your confessional, feeling absolutely giddy. "This feels like a dream come true. I'm so glad he's back."
You were on cloud nine. Ever since you and Rafe had officially recoupled, the two of you had become nearly inseparable, relishing any moment to chat with each other or cuddle in bed. When Rafe received a text that the Hideaway was open for him and you, you were elated at the chance to finally get some privacy with him, away from your fellow islanders.
You put great effort into ensuring every inch of you looked and smelled good for your special night with Rafe. You put on your favorite lingerie set, a cute, lacy, lavender bralette with matching panties, and covered up with a fuzzy white robe.
"Rafe is gonna die when he sees you in this," Nora complimented you, and a chorus of whoops and catcalls erupted from the other girls in the bedroom.
Your jaw dropped when you met up with Rafe. He was wearing a black silk robe that was opened up, revealing his tanned and toned chest, and gray shorts. He was so attractive it almost hurt to look at. Rafe smirked, catching you shamelessly checking him out, and ducked down to whisper in your ear.
"Can't wait to see what's under that cute little robe," he purred, sending an excited shiver through you.
You giggled coyly. "Who says you're gonna get to see anything?"
Rafe chuckled, his eyes darkening with lust. "You're trouble, you know that?"
You smirked at him. "Sounds like you like trouble."
Rafe wrapped his arm around your waist, kissing your lips before leading you to the Hideaway. The islanders hooted and hollered, with Phoebe yelling "Bye, you lovebirds!" and Miles shouting, "Use protection!"
Production had graciously left the two of y'all a collection of snacks and wine, though you were feeling too antsy to eat. Still, you obliged when Rafe fed you a chocolate-covered strawberry, feeling slightly breathless when he wiped some chocolate from your lip, licking his fingers.
The two of you idly chatted for a while before you finally disrobed, showing off your lingerie to Rafe. His eyes raked over your form, letting out a little moan. "Fuck, princess. You're so damn sexy."
You giggled, feeling shy under Rafe's hungry gaze. You straddled his lap and kissed him deeply, and Rafe soon returned the favor, letting his hands roam all over your body. He wasted no time draping the covers over the two of you, creating a sense of privacy from the cameras in the room.
Let's just say that Rafe spent the night making you feel good - really good.
"I can't wait for you to meet my family," Rafe had said to you the next morning, nuzzling your neck. "My sisters would love you, I just know it."
You beamed, gazing fondly at Rafe. "I can't wait for you to meet mine either."
You were glowing, wishing that your time with Rafe in the Hideaway would never end. The sex with Rafe had been fantastic, and you'd had some deep conversations that you'd never gotten to have in the villa. You were looking forward to visiting Rafe in the Outer Banks, meeting his friends and family, and carving a little space for yourself in his life. Maybe you were falling too fast and things would look different on the outside, but for now, you were in a bubble of bliss.
You and Rafe end up in second place at the end of Love Island. The public did love you, but they adored Phoebe and her boyfriend, Declan, just a little bit more. It didn't matter to you though. Not just because Rafe was already loaded, but because as cheesy as it sounded, getting to leave the villa with him was the real prize.
A year later, the giddy feeling of being with Rafe hadn't gone away. The two of you had moved in together a few months ago, with Rafe buying a place for the both of you in his cushy Figure Eight neighborhood. At first, you'd been intimidated, not feeling like you belonged in this big house, but as you and Rafe began to decorate the space and truly make it your own, you felt more at home.
You smiled at your boyfriend, lightly toying with his signet ring as he slept soundly in bed. His eyes fluttered open, instantly warming upon seeing your face.
"Need to get you your own ring so you stop playing with mine," he joked, his morning voice sounding deliciously raspy.
"Rafey, are you hinting at something?" you asked with playful suspicion.
Rafe casually shrugged, kissing your shoulder. "Maybe I am. Who knows?"
"All I'm saying is, '____Cameron' has a nice ring to it," you teased. Rafe groaned at your words, palming at his boxer shorts.
You let out an amused snort. "Did the thought of me taking your last name seriously get you hard?"
Rafe shrugged, grinning lazily. "Sure did. Can you help me out, Mrs. Cameron?"
You smirked, pulling down his boxer shorts and sinking to your knees. "Anything for you, Mr. Cameron."
As the two of you spent the morning tangled up in each other, you felt thankful that you took the chance and went on a silly little reality dating show.

i should really try out Owl City.....
who are they and what are they about and specific song recs?
Owl City is a synth pop music artist (technically only one guy(Adam Young) though he has toured with other people.)
His music is extremely whimsical and fun! And the best part is that he's a Christian! He has several Christian songs!
My most favorite album is his newest one, Coco Moon! I do however, love many of his other albums!
You may already have heard Fireflies. It's extremely well known! If not that's a great first song to listen to!
My favorites, however include:
The Tornado (listen to other ones first. This one is my favorite and pretty much caught me off guard because of how different (good) it is compared to other songs)
Vitamin Sea
Dinosaur Park
Plant Life
Galaxies
Angels
The Meadow Lark
Field Notes
Alligator Sky
Sons of Thunder
Car Trouble
Fiji Water
Lucid Dream
Beautiful Times
Wolf Bite
Up All Night
Tidal Wave
Cave In
Kamikaze
There are tons more as well, but these are my faves! Feel free to explore other ones as well!

Chapter 4
The asshole kept showing up without warning. Sometimes under the pretense of spending time with Harlan. Other times he'd blow in like a storm, mess with her and leave just as quickly. Seemingly making it his mission to make her job as hard as possible, living to torment her.
Y/N felt she was constantly under his wicked gaze. He annoyed her beyond measure, but there were strange feelings underneath it that she refused to explore. Pushing them down every time he touched her. When his fingers would caress her arms, tickle her sides, play with her hair. His warm palms resting on her back, brushing against her thighs, massaging her shoulders. His hands always found their way to her body.
Honeyed promises flowed out of his mouth, trying to entice her. How he knew people, could introduce her and get her into places she'd never have the chance to without him. Jumpstart her career, make her a hot commodity.
Ransom would offer to buy her things; cars, clothing, jewelry. Take her shopping at the most luxurious and sought after shops and boutiques. Book a trip for two on a private plane to Bora Bora, Fiji, or St. John's. Painting pictures of sunshine, secluded beaches, yachting, bikinis, massages, and drinking champagne in a hot tub as they'd watch the sunset over the ocean.
When Y/N would rebuff his advances, he would become petulant. Doing petty things such as stealing from the kitchen or insulting the food in front of his grandfather. The cycle kept repeating. Ransom's words would go from soft and sensual to explicit to threatening. Every rejection and returned threat only seemed to encourage him. He would not be deterred.
---------------
Another Sunday, another awful family dinner. Tonight's atmosphere was already full of tension. Ransom's smug presence causing all hackles up and on high alert. Y/N wondered if so much rottenness in the air may spoil the food. It certainly made her lose her own appetite.
As Y/N brought out the main course, the group were in the middle of bragging about where they each were spending the holidays. Trying to outdo the other with the fun and lavish time they would be having.
Fran helped place the plates in front of them. It could have been actual ghosts serving them for all they noticed. Not even aware of the food under their noses until Y/N began speaking.
“Tonight we have prime rib with garlic and herb butter. Potato cream with caramelized leeks and brown butter brussel sprouts. And for our vegan guests, I prepared grilled cauliflower steaks with cilantro crema. Sweet potato wedges and rosemary seasoned roasted brussel sprouts. Please enjoy.”
Ransom looked up at Y/N through his long eyelashes. “This isn't cooked,” he complained, smirking.
Gritting her teeth, Y/N explained the prime rib was cooked appropriately to bring out the best flavor and tenderness. When he continued to poke at it with his fork, she offered to throw it back in for him. He smiled and handed over his plate, remarking that a real chef would know what they were doing.
Walking back into the kitchen, she reminded herself that murder was wrong. Quickly heating up the piece of meat, she threw it back on the plate, resisting the urge to spit on it.
Ransom accepted his returned meal with a grin. He held up a finger for her to wait as he cut out a chunk and took a bite. “Wow, this is dry as hell. And the gravy is burnt. What am I supposed to do with this?”
Go fuck yourself with a flaming cactus.
Y/N gave her apologies with a smile. Asking him if he would prefer the alternate meal that his aunt and cousin had because there were extras. He made a face but didn't make further demands.
Linda called to her before she could escape. “Y/N, dear. As I'm sure you are aware, we are all family here, including the staff.” Her lips pressed in a firm line, corners barely upturned, making heavy eye contact with Y/N. “And as a family, I'm sure you can agree we should be able to be honest with one another. It pains me to say this, but facial piercings are trashy and you should really consider removing that garbage from your pretty face.”
Y/N stood there, speechless at the gall of this woman.
“I couldn’t disagree more. It’s a sign of her independence and individuality. How dare you try to oppress her.” Joni reached for Y/N’s hand, which luckily was out of her reach.
Eyes momentarily narrowed at her sister-in-law, Linda sighed and raised her hands in defeat. “Well if she wants to look like whore, then I can't help her.”
Not to be outdone, Ransom pulled the attention back to himself. Noisily making a mess of his potatoes, letting them fall off his spoon and splatter around like it was the worst thing he's ever seen. “This is disgusting, flavorless baby food.”
Meg scoffed, “You’re being an asshole.”
“Shut up, teen bop and eat your tofu.”
The arguing continued as Y/N slipped away to the shelter of the kitchen. Fran was waiting for her, having heard everything. “It's amazing how they phrase straight up insults as being helpful, isn't it? I felt so valued as a family member when she told me last week that a show she watches has a monkey butler and I should watch it and take notes.”
Y/N shook her head in disbelief, “These people.”
“Just wait. You haven’t seen half of what they are capable of yet.”
The pair carried out dessert; burgundy pears with whipped lemon cream cheese. The family seemed delighted, save for one scowling face.
Ransom speared the fruit with his fork, picking it up and twirling it. “What is this gooey blob? It looks like a tumor?”
“Takes one to know one,” Meg snorted, covering her mouth in embarrassment at the noise.
Joni caught Y/N’s arm as she walked by. Holding her in place as she gave hair and makeup tips. Explaining to her like a child, about how she should dress and carry herself. “I’d be willing to sell you my last season's fashions at a small discount, but we’d have to let them out of course.” Her head was thrown back with the force of her laugh.
“Bah,” Richard jeered. His flushed face reflected the copious amount of alcohol he had consumed. “Nobody wants your hippy-dippy fashions.” His unfocused eyes moved to Y/N. “Don’t you change a thing. Your body was made for the male gaze. More to grab on to. Show it off however you want. Or leave more to the imagination. However you are feeling, darling is A-OK.” He winked at her, then stretched his arms up, faking a yawn. Jiggling the money clip in his right hand to make sure it was seen.
This guy is literally waving his money around. Ew. Just ew ew ew.
Walt started shouting at Richard about hitting on the help. Citing his sisters honor and respect. Things he most likely had no idea the meaning of.
Only then did Harlan put a stop to the fighting. Not allowing illspeak of his daughter.
Y/N couldn't get out of the room fast enough.
---------------
After she assumed the Thrombey horde filed out. Y/N turned on her playlist and began washing the large pile of dishes. Her breath hitched as a strong pair of arms wrapped around her from behind.
He smelled her hair, then whispered in ear, “I can't stop thinking about how your lips would feel against mine.” Ransom chuckled at her attempt to shrug him off. “Come on, Killer, you're too pretty to be working this hard. Let me take you out, get a few drinks in ya to loosen up.”
“Hard pass.”
Ransom rubbed circles on her stomach. “I get it, you think you're too beneath me to date, well don’t worry about that. I see people below my status all the time. How can I deny them when they come so willingly, and often. You’ll find, I’m always up for a good time.”
Y/N growled. “I just want to do my job and go home. Not be hassled by some arrogant playboy. I want no part of whatever validation you get from this cat and mouse game. Now get your paws off of me.”
He felt her stiffen as his hands began to move up her torso. “So tense. Come on, you need some serious stress relief, especially after dealing with my piece of shit family. Let me help you.”
Trapped in his arms, she did her best to ignore the tingling his skilled hands caused as he felt her up. Not give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Willing her breath to remain calm and her heart to stop beating so fast.
“Your nipples are so hard, what’s that about then?” Ransom took the half cleaned plate out of her hand, “Just admit you want me.” He licked her ear, smiling at the quiet squeak she made. He knew he could make this little mouse scream. “This body is begging me for attention.” Placing a kiss to her neck, assured in his success, he continued, “Just give in. I promise I'll make you feel so good.”
After a deep exhale, Y/N got her wits about her. “I wouldn’t want to risk catching the mountain of STDs you’re carrying.” He pulled away at her words, so she turned to face him. Looking him up and down with disdain. “You're not as hot as you think you are. Fifteen years ago maybe, but at your age the cocky fuckboy act isn’t cute, it's pathetic.”
He snarled and threw the dish in the sink, breaking it. Once his retreating figure was out of sight, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Murder wasn’t looking so bad.

10 years ago today, is the day when I got my second tumblr blog Kyoto16. That day, 10 years ago I approached the end of my soft grunge era. Over the past few months, after the discovery of the rap I liked, (it was the first time in my life i was listening to rap on repeat) I had gained a few extra points of interest on my aesthetic variety scale. Then, suddenly I started to become increasingly tired of the never ending feed stream of Lana and skins and pastel goth gore with sad quotes accompanied by Joy division’s „disorder” that I was being fed on all of my social media. And that fade filter everywhere you look. I was fed up and bored of everything in my life, and now I was even bored of my own aesthetic. Depressing. At some point, not long into my aestheticless lifestyle I saw Macintosh plus album cover on YouTube with the Japanese lettering that I still don’t know what means and the random white Roman statue, and somewhat of an 80s background, and I was like ok cool, this is weird , this feels fresh and I clicked. Then after listening I liked. Then after I liked i started to re listen in the background as I was entering and exploring the hole of this newfound aesthetic land. After hours spent watching vapourware cyber visuals : the spinning backgroundless PCs , the Arizona + Fiji bottle, the lowpoly game hands with guns, the young yung lean and aloe armour SoundCloud beats I decided that I’ll make my own blog honouring this aesthetical experience of 2010s. So I did it. Kyoto16 became the only anonymous routing of my new found interests; half repost half OG post. I spent hours a day searching for the new content. Like a lunatic + fanatic. I shared it with the passion of well payed researchers and met some friends or at least mutual reposters who still follow me on IG now and like my posts along my way. For a short but significant chunk of my life that was me and that was real. Then it stopped. I don’t remember why but months later I just stopped using it suddenly. I think it was around the time I moved to the uk and found myself hanging out with teen chav girls who preferred real human connection over a big bottle of strongbow cider and illegal cigs from Romania instead of the net world. Things end. This blog is my blog passion project 2. Someone used a name passionproject2 so I guess passionproject1 is the best replacement, first passion project since I turned adult #namaste

Elizabeth couldn't get out of the room fast enough.
---------------
After she assumed the Thrombey horde filed out. Elizabeth turned on her playlist and began washing the large pile of dishes.
Elizabeth growled.
After a deep exhale, Elizabeth got her wits about her.

Love in the Tropics: A Perfect Escape to Fiji
When it comes to planning a romantic getaway or a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of love, few places can compare to the breathtaking beauty and serenity of Fiji. With its lush islands, crystal-clear waters, and warm hospitality, it’s no wonder that many couples consider Fiji honeymoon destinations and Fiji wedding packages among the best in the world. This South Pacific paradise offers an ideal blend of natural beauty and luxurious accommodations, making it a dream setting for couples looking to begin their journey together.
Fiji is home to over 300 islands, each offering its own slice of paradise. From secluded beaches to private villas perched above turquoise lagoons, Fiji honeymoon destinations provide the perfect setting for romance. Couples can enjoy candlelit dinners by the beach, relaxing massages at world-class spas, and adventurous excursions like snorkeling, scuba diving, or hiking through rainforests. These experiences create lasting memories and allow newlyweds to connect in a peaceful, distraction-free environment.
But the allure of Fiji goes beyond its natural beauty. One of the reasons so many couples choose this destination is the wide variety of Fiji wedding packages available. Resorts across the islands specialize in crafting personalized wedding experiences that reflect each couple’s unique love story. Whether you're dreaming of a barefoot ceremony on the beach, a traditional Fijian celebration with local music and customs, or a private vow exchange on a remote island, there is a package that can bring your vision to life.
These packages typically include everything from the marriage license and legal arrangements to floral decorations, photography, and a dedicated wedding coordinator. Many resorts even offer exclusive honeymoon deals bundled with wedding services, ensuring that couples can transition seamlessly from "I do" to their first days as newlyweds in pure bliss. The convenience and stress-free planning provided by these packages make Fiji an increasingly popular choice for destination weddings.
While it’s possible to find beautiful wedding venues around the world, there’s something incredibly special about celebrating your love in a place where the environment itself feels like a blessing. The calm waves, vibrant coral reefs, and lush greenery seem to echo the joy and promise of new beginnings. ParadiseinFiji.com offers a wide range of options for couples seeking intimate and unforgettable celebrations in this idyllic setting. With their in-depth local knowledge and personalized service, they help create moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
It’s important to note that Fiji isn’t just about weddings and honeymoons; it’s also a wonderful destination for anniversaries, vow renewals, or simply taking time to reconnect. The islands cater to all types of romantic travelers, whether you’re looking for adventure or quiet seclusion. From couples’ spa treatments and sunset cruises to exploring hidden waterfalls and private picnics on the beach, there is no shortage of meaningful experiences.
Another reason to consider Fiji is the warmth of its people. Known for their hospitality and friendliness, Fijians make every visitor feel like family. This welcoming atmosphere adds to the overall magic of the destination and helps set the tone for a celebration rooted in love and connection. It’s the little touches—the heartfelt greetings, the genuine smiles, the local traditions—that often leave the most lasting impressions.
In a world that often feels fast-paced and hectic, Fiji offers a refreshing escape. It invites couples to slow down, be present, and truly enjoy each other’s company. Whether you're planning to tie the knot or simply celebrate your love, Fiji provides the ultimate backdrop for unforgettable moments.

Discover the Breathtaking Beaches in Papua New Guinea

When it comes to hidden tropical gems, beaches in Papua New Guinea are among the South Pacific’s best-kept secrets. Offering pristine white sands, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, Papua New Guinea (PNG) is an untouched paradise for beach lovers, snorkelers, and adventurers alike. While it may not have the global fame of destinations like Fiji or Bali, the natural beauty and cultural richness of PNG's coastal regions are second to none.
In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at some of the best beaches in Papua New Guinea, what makes them unique, and why they deserve a spot on your travel bucket list.
Why Visit the Beaches in Papua New Guinea?
Papua New Guinea is located just north of Australia and boasts over 600 islands and nearly 5,200 kilometers of coastline. This makes it a haven for beachgoers looking for secluded spots and authentic travel experiences. The beaches in Papua New Guinea are known for their dramatic landscapes, coral reefs, and opportunities to connect with traditional cultures.
Unlike commercial beach resorts that are often crowded and overdeveloped, the beaches in PNG offer a sense of untouched tranquility. Visitors can expect fewer tourists, making it ideal for anyone seeking peace, nature, and adventure.
Top Beaches in Papua New Guinea
1. Kokopo Beach – East New Britain
Located near Rabaul, Kokopo Beach is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The beach offers stunning views of Tavurvur Volcano, soft volcanic sand, and easy access to snorkeling and diving spots in nearby coral reefs. It’s also a great base for exploring WWII history and local markets.
2. Loloata Island – Central Province
A short boat ride from Port Moresby, Loloata Island is known for its luxury eco-resorts and world-class diving. While small, the beaches here are peaceful, clean, and surrounded by vibrant coral gardens teeming with tropical fish. It’s a top choice for couples and honeymooners.
3. Madang Beaches – Madang Province
Madang is often considered one of the most picturesque towns in the South Pacific, and its surrounding beaches reflect that reputation. Utu Beach, in particular, is renowned for its turquoise waters and palm-lined shores. The reefs off Madang are among the most biodiverse in the world, making it a paradise for divers.
4. Tufi Fjords and Beaches – Oro Province
Tufi is a unique location that blends fjord-like inlets with tropical beaches. The area is less developed, offering a more authentic and immersive experience. Visitors can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and cultural visits to nearby villages. The coral reefs here are virtually untouched and perfect for snorkelers.
5. Mussa Island – Milne Bay Province
Part of the Louisiade Archipelago, Mussa Island is remote, pristine, and ideal for those wanting to completely disconnect. The beach is surrounded by palm trees, and the water is crystal clear—perfect for a private island escape.
Activities to Enjoy on the Beaches in Papua New Guinea
The beaches in Papua New Guinea are not just about sunbathing. They offer a variety of experiences for adventure seekers and nature lovers:
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling: PNG is considered one of the best diving destinations in the world. Coral reefs, shipwrecks, and marine biodiversity make for unforgettable underwater adventures.
Fishing: Sportfishing is popular in coastal areas, with opportunities to catch tuna, mackerel, and even marlin.
Cultural Tours: Many coastal communities offer guided tours, allowing visitors to learn about local traditions, dances, and crafts.
Hiking and Exploration: Nearby rainforests and volcanic landscapes provide great hiking opportunities.
Best Time to Visit Papua New Guinea Beaches
The best time to visit beaches in Papua New Guinea is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. During these months, the weather is more predictable, and visibility for diving and snorkeling is at its best. However, it’s wise to check regional weather patterns, as conditions can vary across provinces.
Travel Tips for Visiting PNG Beaches
Respect Local Customs: Papua New Guinea is culturally diverse. Always ask permission before taking photos and dress modestly when not on the beach.
Health and Safety: Bring reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, and stay hydrated. Some areas are remote, so travel insurance is recommended.
Transport: Accessing remote beaches may require flights and boat transfers, so plan your itinerary in advance.

From the volcanic shores of Rabaul to the fjord-like beauty of Tufi, PNG's coastlines are as diverse as they are stunning. Perfect for first time fliers or the seasoned adventurer, the incredible sensation of floating above paradise is a must-do experience that combines excitement and peace all in one unforgettable ride.
The Thrill of Tubing

Its rush of wind and waves makes it a heart-pumping activity promising fun for all. @madi_edwards can attest to the excitement it brings, with moments of calm between bursts of speed to keep thrill-seekers on their toes.
Tubing offers the best seats in the house for experiencing Fiji’s beautiful shores. Whether you’re riding solo or with friends, tubing is the perfect way to make the most of Fiji’s sparkling waters. The fast-paced ride, coupled with the stunning views is a great way to embrace adventure while soaking up the scenic shores of Fiji.
Ride the Waves with a Jet ski Journey

Week Two - Class Tasks and SDL
Peer review of campaigns/photo series found during week 1 SDL.
I found the campaign that Mikaela researched very intriguing as it is a unique take on protecting our oceans by using a model as a mermaid representing sea life but covered in oil and stuck in a net. The campaign was an eye-catching and effective way to show the pollution of the waters in Taiwan. Linked Below..
Peer review with Nikayla about my favorite images I have taken and what my idea is for my trouble in Paradise. During our discussion it was interesting to see how contrasting our photographic styles as her images are more candid portraiture of her friends whereas my images are more naturistic landscapes of West Auckland.
I plan to incorporate more architecture within my Trouble in Paradise although I have not explored this theme through this minor as my major is Spatial Design.
Watch and Take Notes on the following video...
youtube
Key Takeaways from the video
Picture Editor
Think About the Audience... Who do I want to see my work? What do I want them to see? Pitch who represents that
Dive into personal projects to pitch
Pick a subject matter or location and bring in a Local Perspective
Network at local festivals and on social media, people don't want to hire someone they know nothing about.
3 Photo Ideas I imagine doing
Photographing for tourism of countries e.g. Fiji, South of Scotland...
I am an aspiring tourism photographer wanting to represent different countries and what they can offer tourists to bring more awareness and economy to their countries. Historically I have taken images of New Zealand's natural landscapes and nature which gave me transferable skills and knowledge of how to best shoot accordingly.
2. Photographing homes on Grand Designs in any country
I am an aspiring architectural photographer wanting to photograph houses featured on the show Grand Designs, to showcase the innovative designs that represent different countries and what they can offer tourists to bring more awareness and economy to their countries. Historically I have taken images of New Zealand's natural landscapes and nature which gave me transferable skills and knowledge of how to best shoot accordingly.
3. Photographing Award Winning Homes, e.g. interior of the year
I am an aspiring photographer specializing in landscape photography and aiming to become a photographer who works with Home Magazine, photographing New Zealand's annual home of the year and other articles alike. My transferable skills of capturing the natural light and surrounding flora and fauna will help bring an edge to my photographs.
Cover sheet of Idea - Subdivision's

These images show the trouble in my paradise as my dream is to create beautiful spaces, homes, and architecture but the common trend of 'pop-up' townhouses is spreading throughout New Zealand leaving less opportunity. These images were taken on a walk through a family member's neighborhood in Te Atatu South where another construction site of townhouses is popping up everywhere you look.
