I was genuinely so excited for the Judas escariot film but I had a strange feeling about it just from the title. Why was it focusing on Judas?

I am so disappointed to learn it’s a Jesus x Judas film. It’s straight up blasphemy despite what others say. people have respect for other religious figures except for Jesus. Like the art is absolutely amazing but it’s just tarnished with the strange ship. There are plenty of toxic basckstabbing yaoi opportunities elsewhere

Judas Iscariot is an animated retelling of The New Testament of the Holy Bible, featuring details from the Apocrypha (The "Unofficial" Gospels) with a fresh stylized reinterpretation of the story's core figures. The goal of this project is to illuminate this text for both a religious and non-religious audience, placing it back into the historical context of Jesus’s role as a political figure during the Roman occupation of Judea.

Do you ever think about how God the Father and God the Son are equally infinitely excited about saving you? I know, God is one and not divided against himself, so this is almost vacuous to say, but at the same time, the Scriptures say things to make sure we see this. That it's both "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son" and "for the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame." Like I see things that make it sound like Jesus had to talk the Father over to our side, or like the Father had to make Jesus do this for us, and it's just not true. We are loved so much more than that.
