make the exorcist fall in love was an interesting read for me. demons and exorcists and The Church and the trauma and the horrors for sure. 🐟✨⛪️

Finished the manga in a day - my takeaway is that mikhail is a cutie

Make the Exorcist Falls in Love is really great because Mammon, the demon king of greed, gets his power from humanity's desire to trample upon others, the rich who grinds the poor on their heels, the white supremacists, the misogynists, the right wingers

and when he got defeated by the church's chosen one these extremist groups also start crumbling as they lose Mammon as their sponsor

but the economy also destabilizes because a lot of awful people are the ones in power

and in the omake it's implied that it even affects the church too

it's fun to have stories that don't use the easy way out of depicting "because the church is bad that means the demons who are their enemies are better" especially when the presence of the angels in this story exist as powers to defeat the demons

i hope god and everything else in heaven will stay as unknowable beings to humanity for the rest of the story, making the priests struggle to keep their faith in greater beings they HAVE to believe in to survive, while demons brazenly show themselves and wreck chaos

it feels apt when the manga itself has always taken inspiration from irl social struggles
