Don't Die This Time
Kili Fanfic
Kili meets a girl who has to go along on their quest on Gandalf's request. The girl captures his attention from the first time they meet and they grow to love each other over the course of the quest.
Pairing: Kili x OC female who can control nature
Chapter 3: Trying to survive
Warnings: Death (bad guys)
The rain is pouring down onto the company. Everything is wet and cold with the wind nearly blasting the lighter dwarves from the narrow path.
Gaia wipes the rain from her eyelids as she struggles to see anything around her. It is times like these that she wishes she could control the weather. Or at least water, then she would have been able to keep the rain from their clothes and eyes.
There is a familiar shout and she looks up, noticing the dwarves pointing to the moving rocks.
Stone giants.
She has not seen them for quite a while. They are fighting and throwing nearby stones at each other. Terrible timing. The company is in the crossfire and a rock hits the mountain above their heads.
Kiliâs hand shoots out from next to her to pull her back against the mountain. Fili behind her is shouting something, but the wind is blowing the sound away along with the rain splattering against the mountain.
There is a rumble that comes from beneath their feet and suddenly the path begins to move. Gaia realizes that they are on one of the stone giants who has been in slumber.
How are they going to survive this?
The ground next to Kili starts to split open and Kili steps to Gaiaâs side, his hand still holding her against the wet rock behind her.
Kili and Fili are unfortunately pulled apart and Fili looks worriedly at Kili.
Kili turns his attention to Gaia and removes his hand from her stomach which was holding her against the mountain. His hand moves to her arm and he holds her arm with an iron grip.
The giant walks to one of the other giants and joins the fight. Gaia tries to see what is going on so that she can try to get them off this giant, but the rain does not allow her the opportunity.
The dwarves on the other knee of the giant manage to make it to solid ground. Gaia holds onto Kiliâs hand with her other hand, clinging onto him.
The giantâs head is knocked off his body and the rest of the body starts to fall. They all scream as they fall toward the solid mountain, about to hit the mountain. Gaia tries to move the rock to prevent them from smashing into the mountain but to no avail.
They hit the mountain.
Fortunately for them, they do not smash into the mountain and land on the narrow path of the mountain. Gaia looks around frantically, hoping Kili made the fall.
Kili turns on his back and she lets out a relieved breath. She moves to him and checks him for any injuries.
âI am good,â he shouts over the noise from the rain and wind. Gaia gives him a warm smile and holds her hand out for him. He takes her hand and she helps him up.
Thorin has made his way over to them in the meantime along with the rest of the company and he is saving Bilbo from falling from the mountain pass. They manage to get Bilbo up, but Thorin almost falls and Kili jumps to help him up.
When everyone is safe, Thorin snaps at Bilbo and the atmosphere changes. The reality sinks in and the moods immediately are dampened.
âWe need shelter,â someone shouts and Thorin leads the way into a cave. The company piles into the cave, trying to get relief from the pounding rain and freezing wind.
Gaia watches Thorin prevent Bombur from making a fire in the cave as something might find us here.
Gaia falls onto the cold cave floor and shudders. Without fire, there is no way she will be able to generate her own heat. And she is still soaking wet from the rain.
Kili and Fili sit down next to her, their mood apparent on their frowning faces. They take off their boots to pour the water from them and they squeeze the water from their clothes.
Gaia tries to guide the wind to get the water from her hair and clothes, but the wind stays outside. Why does it never work when she wants it to?
With a tired huff, she follows Kili and Fili by trying to rid her clothes and shoes of as much water as possible. Thorin instructs them to get some rest and that they leave at first light. Gaia frowns, turning slightly to Kili next to her.
âArenât we supposed to wait for Gandalf?â she asks, barely even a whisper. Kili shrugs before he continues to ready his bed. Balin seems to be concerned about the plan, but Thorin ignores him.
Gaia purses her lips together, trying to calm herself. The stubbornness of dwarves always finds a way to surprise her.
Everyone is lying in their beds with Bofur taking the first watch. There are no food, ale, or songs tonight. Gaia rests her hands on the cold cave floor, trying to feel for vibrations. She furrows her brows, adjusting her hands.
âWhat is wrong?â Kili asks, watching her closely. Gaia shakes her head.
âThat is strange. I feel vibrations from the floor, but I cannot tell where they are coming from. Something is not right,â she whispers. Kili also furrows his brows and places his hands on the cold floor.
âI do not feel anything,â he says, which causes Gaia to laugh. This earns her an angered shush from Thorin and so she puts her hand over her mouth, still laughing at Kili.
Kili smiles brightly at her as she giggles.
âYou are in a good mood, considering the circumstances we are in.â Kili smiles again and adjusts his position, getting ready to sleep.
âIt is not that bad,â he admits, and Gaia just shakes her head. She wishes she had his optimism.
âWell, thank you for the laugh. I needed it,â she says with the bow of her head and tucking herself in for the night. âNight.â
âNight,â Kili whispers before he passes out. Gaia smiles to herself when she hears the soft snores from the other dwarves. She supposes she could try to get some sleep since Bofur is watching them. She will take the second watch.
Gaia watches Bilbo as he gets up and packs his stuff. She wonders where the hobbit is off to. Perhaps Thorin finally got to the hobbit and he wants to go back to the Shire. She would not blame him. She hears Bofur trying to persuade Bilbo.
Thorin stirs from his sleep and she turns her head slightly to look at Thorin who is staring at Bilbo. She cannot read the emotions on his face.
Gaia has been trying to figure out where the vibrations are coming from but to no avail. There are too many and the mountain is larger than she anticipated. She is well aware that the vibrations are becoming stronger which means that whatever is causing them, is approaching them. They need to move if they do not want to face whatever moves in these mountains.
Bilboâs sword glows blue and Gaia snaps her head to Thorin, her eyes wide.
Goblins.
âWake up!â Thorin shouts at the rest of the company as the ground splits open. Suddenly the floor gives away beneath them and sends them plummeting downwards.
Kili and Fili are both awake, confused. They look around at the other dwarves as the company falls and Kili reaches his hand out toward Gaia, but she is not close enough for his dwarf arms.
The company finally comes to a stop when they hit the ground. Gaiaâs breath was knocked from her and she tries to recover her breath.
Kili hurries over to her to check on her, but they are interrupted by horrid creatures â goblins â grabbing them and dragging them out of the cage.
The company tries to fight back but the goblins are too many and there is no escape.
Gaia looks down at the dark space that lies between them and the floor of the mountain. They will not survive that fall.
A goblin pushes her and she stumbles, almost falling onto Oin. Everyone is squashed together, unable to move properly or even attempt an attack on the goblin pack. Where are they taking them?
When the pushing and shoving finally stops, Gaia recognizes the Goblin King. She shudders at his features and has to avert her gaze. How is that thing still alive after all these years?
Kili is next to Gaia and his hand shoots out to her arm. He grips her arm to ensure she is safe within his reach. He tries to look for a way out, but there are too many goblins.
The ugly Goblin King speaks and insults them, especially Thorin. The Goblin King calls himself king under the mountain which makes Kiliâs blood boil and he glances at Fili, who has the same murderous stare.
When Bofur fails to convey his lie to the Goblin King, the rest of the goblins are ordered to bring forth torture devices. Gaia lets out a tired huff.
This will not be her first time in torture but she fears the goblins are not after their answers. This would be more of a preparation for a feast for these creatures.
Kiliâs hand slides from her arm down to her hand, taking her hand in his. He gives it a tight squeeze to give her some reassurance. Gaia tries to smile at Kili, but she is too concerned with their current situation. She grips his hand tight in her own.
The goblins discover the sword of Thorin which is known as the âGoblin Cleaverâ and this sends them into a frenzy. They attack the company and Gaia gets hit with one of their whips. She clutches her neck, trying to keep her composure.
The company is forced to the ground and the beatings continue.
A sudden white light accompanied by a strong force sends the goblins flying from them and Gaia lets out a relieved sigh. Gandalf.
Gandalf urges them to get up and the whole company hurries away from the hoards of goblins. Gaia notices that her surroundings are made out of wood which she may be able to control.
She moves her hand and one of the planks on a wooden platform moves toward her. She swings the plank toward the group of goblins behind them and manages to hit them, sending them into the abyss.
She maneuvers the planks and keeps most of the goblins at bay while the rest of the company fights the goblins attacking them from the front.
Kili has his bow and takes down each goblin he aims at. Fili is with him and slashes the goblins, also letting them fall from the platforms.
Another goblin shoots an arrow at Kili and Gaia throws a plank in front of Kili, preventing the arrow from hitting Kili. He shouts a âthanksâ and shoots the goblin before it can reload to shoot again. Gaia follows Kili and they take out the goblins that appear from the side.
Gandalf leads them to what seems like an exit from this foul place and everyone hurries. Thorin instructs some of the dwarves and they keep the goblins at bay.
Just as they make their way to the exit, the Goblin King shows up in front of them. He taunts Gandalf but Gandalf kills him with ease. The wooden bridge breaks and Gaia grabs Kili to prevent him from falling off the side of the platform which is descending into the abyss.
The platform lands with a loud thud on the bottom of the mountain and Gaia groans at the impact along with the rest of the company.
âWell, that couldâve been worse,â one of them remarks. Gaia wants to smack whoever said that, but the weight of the Goblin King falling on the company beats her to it. They all moan and groan at the added weight.
Gaia struggles to get out from the pile of wood. Kili helps her out and supports her until she finds her balance. She gives him a small smile, but his gaze is fixed on the wall behind her. She follows his gaze.
âGandalf!â A panicked Kili stumbles backward and Gandalf looks up at the swarm of goblins approaching. There are too many. They will never make it out of here.
âOnly one thing will save us; daylight,â Gandalf says, his eyes shooting at Gaia. I give an understanding nod. I help the rest of the company out from the pile and hurry them to follow Gandalf.
Kili stops and turns to Gaia.
âGo, I will follow you,â he says, but she shakes her head.
âI need to be behind all of you. And do not look back,â she says, ushering Kili along with Fili to follow Gandalf. Kili frowns but does as she says and follows the rest of the company out.
Gaia runs after them, her hands searching for her necklace. She finds the small pendant between all the layers of clothing and pulls it out. She yanks it from her neck and takes a deep breath.
Galadriel gave this to her once, promising her the light whenever Gaia found herself in dark times.
She crushes the pendant in her palms and feels the surge of energy pumping through her, her body becoming a vessel for the sunlight. She opens her eyes and squints her eyes, looking at her hands which are glowing with the light of the sun.
The goblins shout and hiss as the sunâs light burns them, turning them to stone. They fall to the ground and shatter into thin dust.
Kili hears the commotion behind him, but he follows Gaiaâs instructions. The pathway lights up and he has a relieved smile. They are almost out of this cursed mountain.
As they take a turn, he notices that the light is not coming from the exit, but rather from behind him. He has to force his eyes to keep to the front.
Gandalf leads the company out of the Misty Mountains and they come to a stop at the bottom of the mountain, underneath the trees. Everyone is panting, out of breath, and exhausted from the fighting.
Gandalf turns around and sees Gaia finally emerging from the mountains, still glowing faintly. Her light disappears as she approaches the company and comes to a slow halt when she reaches Gandalf.
He places his hand on her shoulder and gives it a tight squeeze. She smiles at him before turning her gaze to the rest of the company.
âWhere is Bilbo?â Gaia turns around, looking behind her. He did not follow them? She saw him slipping away from the company when the goblins were herding them to the Goblin King. Where could he be?
She hears Thorin badmouthing Bilbo and she has to bite her tongue to prevent herself from defending Bilbo. If it were not for Thorin, perhaps Bilbo would not have felt alienated from the company.
Thorin has made him feel unwelcome at every turn. He has done the same with her, but Bilbo has been treated worse by Thorin than Gaia. She could at least provide them with food and an extra pair of fighting hands. Bilbo is their burglar. A hobbit. He cannot and does not have to fight.
Kili inspects the wound on her neck and she waves her hand to dismiss his worries. He takes her hand when he notices that there is glass in her palms. He gently removes the pieces of glass and tears a small piece from his shirt under his jacket. He wraps it around her hand and ensures that it is wrapped tightly.
âThank you, Kili,â Gaia says with a warm smile. Kili flashes her a tired smile.
âWhat did you do back there?â he asks in a whisper. Gaia chuckles and shakes her head.
âI will tell you later.â She winks at him and Kili laughs softly at her, shaking his head.
Bilbo appears out of thin air and informs Thorin of the reason for coming back. Gaiaâs gaze moves to Gandalf. Something seems off about the appearance of Bilbo. How could he show up without either of them seeing him?
Based on Gandalfâs reaction, he also seems to be suspicious. She will ask Bilbo in private how he managed to escape from the goblins unseen.
The answer that Bilbo gives is heartwarming and Gaia smiles softly at the hobbitâs words. He is indeed a kind soul, trying to win back the home of the dwarves even when he has no business doing that. Bilbo indeed continues to surprise her every time.
Gaia goes to sit down when she feels the familiar vibrations through her fingers. Orcs.
The howling of the Wargs catches the companyâs attention and Kili helps her up. They cannot catch a break, can they?
A face that Gaia has not seen for quite some time, appears at the top of a nearby hill.
Azog, the defiler.
She heard how he had captured skin-changers to torture for sports. He was also responsible for the death of Thorinâs grandfather and thousands of dwarves. Thorin defended his people bravely and inured Azog, but it was not enough to stop this monster. Now, Azog is hunting Thorin, wanting to end the line of Durin.
âOut of the frying pan,â Thorin starts.
âAnd into the fire,â Gandalf finishes, âRun!â
Everyone starts running as fast as their tired bodies can. Unfortunately, they are trapped when they realize that they are on a cliff. Gaia searches the area and counts a few trees she can use to fend off the Wargs, but it will not be enough to take on Azog.
âClimb!â The dwarves easily climbs into the trees and Kili pulls Gaia with him into the tree. They are out of breath, watching the Wargs descend from the hill to them.
Gaia takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself to be able to work with the trees.
Bilbo is the last to get into the trees with the Wargs on his heels. Gaia guides the roots of a tree to stomp two Wargs, killing them. A few Wargs escape the root and make their way to the first tree with dwarves.
The Wargs jump while trying to grab hold of a branch or to snatch a dwarf from the trees.
Gaia swiftly directs the branch to launch at the Wargs attacking the tree, throwing the Wargs from the cliff. There are too many of them and too few trees.
Wargs attack their tree and they manage to uproot one of the trees, causing the trees to fall against the other. Everyone jumps from one tree to the next, avoiding the falling trees.
Gaia realizes that they are stuck in the last tree, the one on the edge of the cliff. She cannot uproot this tree without risking their safety. And it is a long way down.
Azog comes riding on his white Warg, smirking at them as they have nowhere to go. Gaia glances at Gandalf and notices the butterfly. They will help them, they have to.
Azog converses in his language and Gaia looks to Thorin, hoping he does not understand the Orc language. It does not seem like Thorin understands what Azog is saying but he does catch the mention of his father and grandfather. Gaia feels her blood boiling at the words of the Orc.
Thorin is taken by surprise since he thought that Azog succumbed to his wounds, but here Azog is. The Goblin King was the first to inform Thorin that Azog was still alive and hunting the Durin line.
Kili and Fili have the hate same hatred expression as Thorin when Azog orders his subordinates to kill them and to taste their blood.
Gaia manages to wipe some of the Wargs from the cliff along with a couple of Orcs, but it barely makes an impact on the attack. The last tree starts to unroot and she focuses all her attention on keeping the roots intact in the ground.
She has to mentally support the weight of the tree filled with the company and withstand the attacks of the Wargs.
âYou got this, just keep on focusing,â Kili says, his voice filled with panic. He focuses with her, almost like he supports the tree along with her. She has a skew smile as she focuses to keep the tree from falling. She is exhausted from the light that she had to channel and now she has to keep the tree upright.
She shakes her head slightly, avoiding herself to think about how exhausted she is. She cannot fail the company.
Flames surround them when Gandalf starts to throw the burning pinecones. Gaia has to fight the feeling of the burning sensation that moves through her veins, burning the trees and grass. Her hands start to shake and she feels herself losing her grip on the tree, but she does not let the tree fall. They will die if she gives up this easily.
The tree tilts slightly to the side and she asserts her remaining mental strength to keep the tree from hitting the ground, which will lead to the company hanging over the edge of the cliff.
Azog is enjoying the sight of the struggling company and Gaia scrambling to prevent the tree from falling off the cliff.
When Gaia is about to pass out from the mental exhaustion she has been through, Thorin rises from the flames. Armored with his sword and a piece of thick bark, he charges to Azog.
Everything goes silent as the company watches Thorin running to Azog, on the back of the pale Warg. The Warg lunges at Thorin and knocks him to the ground.
Gaia holds her breath, waiting for Thorin to get up, but Azog uses the Warg to fight for him. The Warg bites Thorin and Gaia loses her grip on the tree, which causes the tree to hit the ground.
Some of the dwarves lose their grips on the trees. Luckily Gandalf holds his staff out for them to grab ahold of.
Thorinâs pained cries numb the company and they watch in horror as Thorin is about to beheaded. Gaia reaches for the roots of the unrooted trees.
Just as she is about to grab the Orc that wants to behead Thorin, Bilbo tackles the Orc from his feet and kills him.
This brings the whole company back to reality and everyone charges toward the pack of Orcs and Wargs.
Gaia uses the roots to grab a few Orcs and throw them from the cliff, along with their disgusting Wargs.
The sound of wings catches her attention and Gaia falls to her knees, relief flooding her as adrenaline leaves her.
The Eagles save them by throwing the remaining Orcs and Wargs from the cliff and burning the rest.
An Eagle takes Thorin and Gaia runs to the rest of the company to help them onto the eagles. Fili and Kili are taken by an Eagle and Gaia jumps onto the back of another Eagle. She watches Gandalf getting onto the last Eagle.
With an exhausted sigh, she rests her head on the soft feathers of the Eagle. She groans at the pain that throbs through her body and she inspects her palms. The bandage that Kili made for her is soaked in blood.
She will ask Oin to have a look at her hands when they land. For now, she needs to get some rest.

If you do requests, I would love a Fili one! Specifically, his hobbit gf who has short hair tells him sheâs going to grow it out so that he can finally put it in braids <33
A/N: this was such a cute request, thank you so much for sending it in (and your patience!)! Hope you like it!
FĂli x fem!hobbit (unnamed) OC
Requested: obviously
Warnings: just lots of teeth rotting fluff I guess?
Word count: 753 words
Always yours
âYouâre staring again,â she said without taking her eyes off the page of her book. As handsome and charming as her companion was, the story she was reading was too intriguing and she really wanted to know what the heroine would do next.Â
But there came no response to her comment and eventually her curiosity got the best of her. She peeked over the edge of the paper, straight into the bright blue eyes of her intended.
âSee? I knew I was right,â she teased with a smile.Â
FĂli chuckled, the sound reverberating in his chest, making her smile even wider. There truly wasnât a lovelier sound.
âSuch beauty as yours is meant to be admired, ibrizinlĂȘkhĂȘ, you cannot fault me for doing so.â
She twirled a lock of hair around her finger as she resumed her reading, a blush colouring her cheeks at the given praise. Even after months of courting she still wasnât used to the numerous compliments FĂli showered her with.Â
âYour hairâs getting quite long,â FĂli commented as he let his fingers glide through her deep brown curls. âI suppose itâs almost time to cut it again.â
She didnât miss the disappointment in his voice, even though she knew heâd tried to hide it. She usually let her curls grow until it reached her shoulders, or until it was at âproper Hobbit-lengthâ as sheâd always say, before the scissors would appear. Even though FĂli knew hair wasnât as important to Hobbits as it was to Dwarrows, he couldnât help but feel a pang of sadness every time his future wife took out the scissors.Â
But now it almost brushed her collarbones, the longest it had ever been and FĂli loved it. How the curls danced around her face as she was running around the kitchen, cooking yet another feast, or how they framed her perfectly round face as she was engrossed in one of her books, shielding her from prying eyes. His fingers itched to braid her auburn locks, to take three strands and weave them together, following an all-too-familiar pattern, sealing it with a bead containing his sigil and making her truly his in the eyes of Mahal. But he respected her too much, and the last thing he would want for her was to abandon her own culture.Â
âAbout thatâŠâ she began, pulling him out of his thoughts. She went to the heavy wooden chest of drawers, took something out of the top drawer and placed it in his hand with a shy smile. A pair of scissors.
FĂliâs eyes went wide at the suggestion. âYou cannot ask me to⊠I canât-âÂ
He loved her with all his heart, she was his whole world without any doubt, and there wasnât anything he wouldnât do if she asked him to, but this request was really pushing his limits.Â
The Hobbit girl laughed, her giggles like tiny bells in the evening breeze, and she folded her small hands around his large one holding the scissors, closing it with an encouraging squeeze.Â
âI donât want you to use them,â she reassured him, âI want you to keep them, since I have no need for them anymore.â
FĂli stared at her, his features twisted in confusion, before he realised what it meant. He dropped the scissors and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his chest, the book she was reading toppling to the ground but neither of them noticed. As he let go of her, his hands moved from her waist to cup her cheeks, brushing a strand of hair out of her face with his thumb. Â
âI know how important this is to you, and your kin. Youâve done so many things to make me feel at home. So I decided I wanted to grow out my hair, long enough for you to braid it. And I think weâre there, donât you?â
FĂli positively beamed with happiness, blinking a few times as if he couldnât believe what had just occurred. He closed the already small distance between them with a small tug, and kissed her hard, a kiss full of passion and promises and want.Â
As they separated, both catching their breaths, he took something out of his pocket, and opened his hand, revealing a silver bead. âIâve carried this with me ever since we started courting, but I never thought... IbrizinlĂȘkhĂȘ, would you do me the honour of letting me braid your hair?â
She smiled, her eyes a little teary at the sheer happiness and nodded.
âAlways.â

Moving Forward
Guys the musical I was in opened and closed this weekend!! (I was in a musical that's why I've been so busy lol)
I'm going to have marginally more time in the coming weeks, so
Requests and the Fifty-Follower Celebration are still open! But for the sake! Of Content! Have a list of some of the fics I have in the works and vote on which one sounds most interesting to you. Keep in mind that longer works will take, well, longer.
As I move into adult life, I don't know how much time I can really dedicate to this blog, but it's always worth trying.
Scion - Thorin Oakenshield x OC. The yet unnamed female OC is the last able-bodied adult in a family that has been sworn to the Durins for hundreds of years to protect their line. After fighting to be included in the quest, she eventually discovers that her devotion to Thorin likely goes beyond mere duty. More than likely a multi-chapter fic.
Saturday Sun - Fili Durin x OC/Reader. At the request of Thorin, Fili goes to a Gondorian town near the sea to get away from the pressures of life as royalty under the mountain. He apprentices under and eventually ends up teaching the local blacksmith, staying at an inn. Three weeks before he must return to Erebor, he strikes up an electric friendship with a new guest. 1-2 Parts.
Empress - Fili Durin OR Kili Durin x OC/Reader. One of the Durin brothers spends so much time doubting himself that he misses his chance with the love of his life. He realizes his mistake moments before entering an arranged marriage. Probably just 1 part.
To Be Broken - Thorin Oakenshield OR Fili Durin x OC/Reader. Before leaving for the quest, he swears to his partner/wife to return and to make a better life in Erebor with them. She admonishes him to not make promises he can't keep. Probably 1 part with possibly a post-BotFA follow-up.
Grown-up - Romantic or platonic Bilbo Baggins x Reader. At the beginning of the Unexpected Journey, the reader finds it hard to remember that Bilbo is not, in fact, a child. Either 1 part or a series of shorter parts.

Returning Home Chapter 4- Thorin Oakenshield x OC
Thorin Oakenshield x Bellarose Baggins
Description: After stopping to rest one night the Company has an unfortunate meeting with mountain trolls.
Word Count: 2.6k
Later that night Bombur finally finished dinner, which ended up being soup. Bofur was the one to serve it. He ladeled some into a bowl then held it out for Bellarose.Â
âLadies first,â he said with a smile, which made the girl giggle.Â
âWell, thank you. What a gentleman,â she responded teasingly. The Dwarf merely laughed and continued to hand out bowls of soup.Â
âHeâs been a long time,â Bilbo mentioned as he stood beside Bofur.Â
âWho?â
âGandalf.âÂ
âHeâs a wizard! He does as he chooses,â Bofur brushed off before handing the Hobbit two bowls. âHere, do us a favor: take this to the lads.â Bilbo didnât look happy, but he did as Bofur said and walked off. After Bellarose finished eating she leaned back in her seat with a small sigh, taking a moment to do a headcount. She sat up upon realizing that her brother hadnât returned from taking dinner to Fili and Kili.Â
âHas anyone seen Bilbo recently?â She eventually spoke up, catching a few othersâ attention. Balin shrugged as he took another bite of his food.Â
âProbably keeping the Princes company.âÂ
âNo doubt theyâve roped him into something,â Nori joked from beside her, earning a nod from the others. Bellarose considered their words, but something still felt off. After a moment of internal debate, she finally stood and set her bowl aside.Â
âIâm going to check on them,â she informed them simply before making her way to where the ponies were. She paused upon reaching the horses. There were some missing, and so were Kili, Fili and Bilbo. After inspecting the scene, she realized that some of the surrounding trees had been uprooted. Most likely by something far bigger than anyone in the Company.
Then, she heard voices. They were very faint, but she was able to recognize one of them as Kili. As she got closer to them, she saw what seemed to be a large campfire. Fili, Kili and Bilbo were standing just out of view of whoever sat by the fire.Â
âMountain trolls are slow and stupid, and youâre so small,â Kili muttered just loud enough for the four of them to hear. Though, it was most likely that the boys hadnât been made aware of the girlâs presence because they didnât face her. Bilboâs head snapped towards the younger Dwarf, and Bellarose could see that his eyes were wide in bewilderment.Â
âMe?â He questioned, sounding rather panicked as he shook his head vigorously. âNo, no, no.âÂ
âItâs perfectly safe!â Kili reassured him. Bellarose decided it was time to make her presence known as her curiosity got the better of her, and she moved closer to them.Â
âWhat is going on here?â She questioned, which made all three of them jump out of their own skins and whip around to face her. Rather than say anything, the girl simply crossed her arms and raised a curious eyebrow at them.Â
âBella,â Bilbo greeted, maybe a little too loud. âItâs, uh...well you see-â
âMountain trolls took Myrtle and Misty and it looks like they plan on eating them,â Kili explained without a second thought, making Bilbo glare at him.Â
âWeâre trying to figure out how to get them without the trolls noticing before our Uncle finds out,â Fili concluded, disregarding the still glaring Hobbit. The girl blinked at them, a blank look on her face, before stepping closer to get a good look at the trolls.Â
âYeah, I think a Hobbit could get past them easier.â Bilbo looked like he was ready to pass out from exasperation at her words.Â
âWhy donât you do it then?â He asked, then paused. âActually no, youâre not doing this.âÂ
âOh, come on Bilbo,â the girl rolled her eyes. âYou said it yourself, two burglars are better than one. We can do it together.âÂ
âBrilliant idea, Bellarose,â Kili nodded with a smile.Â
âThank you Kili.âÂ
âI donât know you guys,â Bilbo trailed off anxiously, though he was now worried for his sisterâs safety over his own. âIs it safe?â
âOf course it is!â The younger Durin responded.Â
âWeâll be right behind you,â Fili added. âIf you run into trouble, hoot twice like a barn owl, once like a brown owl.â The Hobbit repeated his words then hesitated, but he couldnât say anything before Bellarose spoke up.Â
âWeâll be fine Bilbo,â she muttered, resting a comforting hand on his shoulder. âJust donât hesitate like youâre doing right now and weâll be good to go. Ready?âÂ
âWell-â Bilbo was cut off by the girl sneaking over to the ponies. She arrived at the small pen in which the ponies were being held in and attempted to untie the ropes. It was in vain though. The ropes were too large and too knotted for a Hobbit to untie. She nearly jumped in surprise when the trolls began talking.
The trollsâ conversation was rather boring to listen to. Two of them, William and Tom as Bellarose learned, were complaining about the third troll, Bertâs cooking. Well, more accurately about how theyâve only eaten mutton for an undisclosed amount of time. William sneezed loudly before pulling out a handkerchief. It was at that moment that she noticed a long knife hanging from the trollâs pants. That was likely their best shot at getting the ponies out.Â
She glanced behind her to see Bilbo following her. She then pointed out the knife to her brother, too afraid that speaking would attract attention to them. Bilbo followed her finger, then his eyes widened when he saw the knife. It looked like he wanted to groan in exasperation but it seemed his train of thought was similar to her because he stayed silent. He nodded once at her then began to creep towards William from behind while Bellarose watched.Â
âOoh. That is perfectly balanced, that is. Wrap your loganbie around that, mate,â he said, shoving something into Williamâs mouth. âHuh! Good, ainât it? Thatâs why Iâm the cook.âÂ
âMe guts are grumbling,â Tom grumbled. âIâve got to snaffle something. Flesh. I need flesh!â Bellarose looked at the horses beside her when they began to grow restless, then William suddenly jumped up holding something in his hand. Or rather, someone.Â
âAah! Blimey! Bert! Bert, look whatâs coming out of me hooter! Itâs got arms and legs and everything!â He exclaimed, holding out his hand. It was Bilbo!Â
âWhat are you then?â Bert questioned curiously, looking at Bilbo.Â
âI-Iâm a burglar...uh, Hobbit!â He responded nervously.Â
âA burglar-hobbit?â Tom repeated, bringing the hobbit closer to him.Â
âCan we cook him?â William questioned.Â
âWe can try!â The troll responded happily, only for Bert to shake his head.Â
âHe wouldnât make more than a mouthful, not when heâs skinned and boned!âÂ
âPerhaps there are more burglar-hobbits âround these parts, maybe thereâll be enough for a pie,â William said optimistically, only for Bilbo to slip out of Williamâs hand.Â
âGrab him!â Both Tom and William had a bit of a hard time grabbing him, but the latter was ultimately successful.Â
âGotcha!â He exclaimed triumphantly. âAre there any more of you little fellas hiding where you shouldnât?â Bilbo shook his head quickly.Â
âNo!âÂ
âHeâs lying!â Tom yelled.Â
âIâm not,â the Hobbit insisted. Bellarose looked around desperately, trying to figure out how to help her brother, but it ended up being in vain.Â
âLook! Itâs another burglar-hobbit!â Exclaimed Tom as he pointed directly at her. She only had time to gasp before she was suddenly picked up by Bert, but didnât have the strength to fight against his grip.Â
âNo she isnât,â Bilbo responded quickly. He was still attempting to wriggle out of Williamâs hand when Kili rushed in and slashed one of the trollâs legs, demanding that Bilbo and Bellarose be let go. The troll simply tossed the older Baggins to Kili, who caught him but they ended up falling to the ground together.Â
The rest of the Company suddenly charged out of the bushes yelling and brandishing their weapons. They began fighting the trolls, hacking, slashing, and hammering their legs. In his shock, Bert ended up dropping Bellarose. She was quick to roll out of the way as Bifur, Dwalin and Nori attacked Bert.Â
As the Dwarves continued to fight, Bellarose noticed Williamâs knife on the ground and quickly grabbed it. At the very least she could save the ponies. She ran over to the pen and cut the ropes, allowing the ponies to run away. Apparently that caught the attention of Tom, who grew angry and grabbed the girl. The Dwarves stopped fighting when they see the troll holding Bellarose.
âBella!â Kili exclaimed, beginning to rush forward, only to be stopped by Throinâs hand on his shoulder.Â
âLay down your arms, or weâll rip hers off,â Bert demanded, squeezing the girl a bit harder to add to the effect. They were hesitant at first, but after hearing her gasp in pain they begrudgingly did as they were told. William and Tom wasted no time in tying most of them to a spit and placing them over a fire. The ones that couldnât fit on the spit (Thorin, Fili, Kili, Oin, Bombur, Balin, Bellarose and Bilbo) were stuffed into brown sacks with only their heads popping out. The Baggins girl was the last to be placed in a bag before she was dropped onto the pile.Â
âOw!âÂ
âSorry,â she responded apologetically.Â
âMight as well not bother cooking âem,â William muttered. âLetâs just sit on âem and squash âem into jelly!âÂ
âNo, no, no,â Bert protested as he turned the spit. âThey should be sautĂ©ed and grilled with a sprinkle of sage.â
âOoh, that does sound quite nice!â As they spoke the rest of the Company made noises and talked in fear, though the trolls paid them no mind.Â
âNever mind the seasoning,â Tom interjected. âWe ainât got all night! Dawn ainât far away, so letâs get a move on. I donât fancy being turned to stone.â Bilbo suddenly perked up from beside his sister, making her look at him in confusion.Â
âWait! You are making a terrible mistake,â he exclaimed, attempting to stand up.Â
âYou canât reason with them, theyâre half-wits!â Dori exclaimed from the spit.Â
âHalf-wits?â Bofur repeated worriedly. âWhat does that make us?â Bilbo ignored them as he finally managed to stand up, though he was still tied up.Â
âUh, I meant with the, uh, with, uh, with the seasoning.â
âWhat about the seasoning?â Bert questioned.Â
âWell have you smelt them? Youâre going to need something stronger than sage before you plate this lot up.â That caused an uproar from the Dwarves. Some yelled at Bilbo and called him a traitor while the ones in the sacks kicked at him.Â
âWhat do you know about cooking Dwarf?â Tom asked incredulously, only for Bert to hit him on the head with his ladle.
âShut up, and let the, uh, flurgaburburrahobbit talk.â All eyes turned to Bilbo as he attempted to come up with something to say.
âUh, th--the secret to cooking dwarf is, um--â
âYes? Come on,â urged Tom.Â
âItâs, uhâŠâ
âTell us the secret.â
âYe--yes, Iâm telling you, the secret isâŠto skin them first!â
âTom, get me the fileting knife,â Bert instructed, which caused a second uproar from the Company.Â
âWhat a load of rubbish!â The troll exclaimed in protest. âIâve eaten plenty with their skins on. Scuff them, I say, boots and all.âÂ
âYeah, âeâs right,â William realized. âNothing wrong with a bit of raw dwarf! Nice and crunchy.â He grabbed Bombur by the feet and dangled him upside down over his mouth, ready to eat him. At that moment Bellarose noticed someone slipping behind some nearby trees. It was Gandalf, she realized. He was here to help! But not if the trolls eat them all first, she realized. She needed to distract them just a little longer.Â
âN-No, not that one, heâs- heâs infected!â She exclaimed without thinking. That gave all three trolls pause and they all turned to face her.Â
âYou what?â Asked Tom. The girl licked her lips nervously and looked between them.Â
âYeah⊠Heâs got worms in hisâŠtubes,â she explained. William gasped in disgust and dropped Bombur back onto the pile.Â
âIn-in fact they all have, theyâre infested with parasites,â she continued quickly. Itâs a terrible business. I wouldnât risk it, I really wouldnât.â
âParasites?â Oin repeated in shock. âDid she say parasites?âÂ
âWe donât have parasites! You have parasites!â
âWhat are you talking about, lass?â The rest of the Dwarves chimed in about how they didnât have parasites, and how she was a fool. She looked around helplessly, trying to show them that she didnât mean it without saying anything. Her eyes met Thorinâs, and a look of realization came across his face. He kicked the others, making them look at him. After finally understanding what was going on they all looked at the trolls.Â
âIâve got parasites as big as my arm.â
âMine are the biggest parasites, Iâve got huge parasites!â
âWeâre riddled!âÂ
âYes, Iâm riddled!â
âYes we are. Badly!â
âWhat would you have us do, then?â Bert questioned, looking at Bellarose. âLet âem all go?â
âWellâŠâ the girl trailed off, entertaining the idea. Bert wasnât having it though.Â
âYou think I donât know what youâre up to. This little ferret is taking us for fools!âÂ
âFerret?â She repeated, offended.Â
âFools?â William repeated dumbly. Everyone looked up as a figure appeared on a large nearby boulder with what looked like a walking stick.Â
âThe dawn will take you all!â A formidable voice called, effectively scaring the Hobbit girl.Â
âWhoâs that?â Tom questioned.Â
âNo idea,â Bert responded.Â
âCan we eat him too?â The last troll brother questioned eagerly. No one had the chance to respond before the figure lifted his walking stick and struck it against the very rock he stood upon. The ground rumbled just enough for the others to notice shortly before the boulder split in two, the smaller side giving way and falling, revealing the rising sun.Â
Without warning the trolls shouted in agony as they began turning to stone. Bellarose used Thorinâs shoulder to hide her face from the sight until the screaming subsided, then she looked up as the others began cheering. The figure stepped down from the boulder, revealing that it was Gandalf himself. It took no time at all to free everyone from the spit and sacks theyâd been trapped in. Bellarose thanked Bofur as he untied her, then she heard Thorin speak.
âWhere did you go to, if I may ask?â
âTo look ahead,â the Wizard answered.Â
âWhat brought you back?â
âLooking behind,â Gandalf responded simply before looking at the trolls. âNasty business. Still, they are all in one piece.â
âNo thanks to your burglars,â the Dwarf added, unamused. Gandalf looked at him indignantly.Â
âThey had the nous to play for time. None of the rest of you thought of that.â Thorin looked repentant after hearing the Wizardâs point, though he had no time to say anything before Gandalf examined the statues again.Â
âThey must have come down from the Ettenmoors,â he mentioned.Â
âSince when do mountain trolls venture this far south?â Thorin questioned.Â
âOh, not for an age, not since a darker power ruled these lands.â They stared at each other for a moment, an unspoken agreement settling between them.Â
âThey could not have moved in daylight,â the Dwarf continued.
âThere must be a cave nearby, then,â Bellarose spoke without thinking, which made them look at her. She blushed in embarrassment, but the Dwarf nodded before she could apologize for eavesdropping.Â
âSheâs right.âÂ
âLet us see what the caves may entail then,â the Wizard nodded, beginning to lead the Company away with Thorin and Bellarose at the front of it.

Kili groaned as he saddled his pony. His muscles ached so much, he wasnât quite sure how he would fare riding the ponies to Mirkwood.
âAre you all right there, Kili?â Oreliell asked as she passed, a small smile on her face.
âOh yes, just fine,â he replied, putting on a confident facade and standing up straighter.
âNeed any help?â
âNope! Iâve got it perfectly handled, thank you.â
Oreliell smiled and walked away. As soon as her back was turned, Kili slumped his shoulders again. Gloin chuckled from behind him.Â
âAll right, brother?â Fili asked, approaching him with his own pony already saddled.
âI donât understand how youâre not sore after yesterday.â
âI wasnât the one knocked down four times.â
Kili shot a glare at his brother, who laughed. The two mounted their ponies, settling in as the company prepared to leave while Gandalf talked with Beorn a distance away. While they waited, they chose to observe what was happening around them. Or at least Kili was. Fili was making sure that he had all of his knives safely in their secured spots within his coat, shirt, and shoes. Several of the dwarves were helping each other mount the ponies. Bilbo still looked a bit ridiculous sitting on a pony.
Kiliâs eyes eventually fell on his uncle after he called out to Gandalf. Thorin was talking to Dwalin and Balin, most likely discussing their travel plans. Not long after, Oreliell approached, her horse right alongside her. Kili watched the small group talk for several minutes before talking to his brother.
âWhat are your thoughts about Oreliell?â he asked.
âWhat do you mean?â Fili said.
âWhat do you think of her?â
Fili looked at his brother in confusion before glancing over at the elf in question.
âI donât know. I mean sheâs a great warrior and she and her sister have been incredibly helpful since we met them. Not to mention she has been really friendly with the lot of us, despite some of the hesitation we showed at first. I donât think I can say something negative about her.â
Kili nodded.
âAnd what about her relationship with Thorin?â
Fili stopped.
âWhat?â
âOreliell and Thorin!â He motioned to the two of them. âDonât tell me you havenât noticed how close they are.â
âTheyâve been friends for several years, Kili. Of course theyâre going to be close.â
âBut when was the last time you saw uncle look at a woman, or anyone that way?â
âKili-â
âTell me Iâm wrong. Actually look and tell me Iâm wrong, Fili.â
Before they could turn their attention to the couple in question, Gandalf joined the company and mounted his horse. Everyone urged their ponies forward. Orcs were after them, so they needed to move quickly.Â
The ride didnât seem to take too long, which they were all thankful for. Gandalf slowed in the lead as they approached a large forest. It looked overgrown, yet also withered in places.
âThe Elven Gate,â Gandalf said after dismounting and examining the forest entrance. âHere lies our path through Mirkwood.â
âNo sign of the orcs,â Dwalin said. âWe have luck on our side.â
The company dismounted and set to work on gathering their supplies from the ponies.Â
âSet the ponies loose! Let them return to their master.â
âThis forest feels sick,â Bilbo said. âAs if a disease lies upon it. Is there no way around?â
âNot unless we go two hundred miles north,â Oreliell said, âor twice that distance south.â
A couple of the dwarves grumbled as they unloaded their ponies. Soon enough, the ponies were released. They seemed to know where to go as they turned around and ran back the way they had come.
âNot my horse!â Gandalf suddenly cried, returning to them. His shout caused everyone to turn toward him. âI need it.â
âYouâre not leaving us,â Bilbo said.
âI would not do this unless I had to.â
Fili looked at his brother as it began to rain lightly.
âWhat good is a wizard if he keeps leaving?â he muttered.
They heard someone shuffle behind them. The princes looked over their shoulders. Vedis had a smile on her face, and raised an amused eyebrow at the two of them.
âIâll be waiting for you at the overlook, before the slopes of Erebor,â Gandalf said, turning away from Bilbo and toward Thorin. âKeep the map and key safe. Do not enter that mountain without me. This is not the Greenwood of old. There is a stream in the woods that carries a dark enchantment. Do not touch the water. Cross only by the stone bridge. The very air of the forest is heavy with illusion. It will seek to enter your mind and lead you astray. You must stay on the path. Do not leave it. If you do, you will never find it again.â He finally mounted his horse and rode away. âNo matter what may come, stay on the path!â
Thorin made his way through the company, heading to the gate.
âCome on,â he said. âWe must reach the mountain before the sun sets on Durinâs Day.â
âLetâs go,â Dwalin said, following after him. Kili nudged Filiâs arm and went in after Dwalin.
âThis is our one chance to find the hidden door.â
The company filed after Thorin and proceeded to make their way into the forest. No one really spoke as they walked, too focused on keeping the path under their feet. The further they moved inward, the more twisted the trees seemed to become. Like Bilbo had said before, everything looked sickly.
However, Kili also seemed to notice that his mind was becoming slightly foggy. He shook his head, as if to clear it. He stumbled over a tree root and nearly fell face forward. He only barely managed to keep his balance when Oreliell grabbed the back of his coat.
âEasy,â she said.
He nodded to her, managing to gain a little clarity. Meanwhile, the others made comments about their own dizziness.
Kili looked up and noticed that the path seemed to come to a stop. But then he realized why.
âWe found the bridge,â he said.
A few others pushed by him to see, quickly noticing their predicament. The bridge had collapsed.
âWe could try and swim it,â Bofur suggested.
âDidnât you not hear what Gandalf said?â Thorin said. âA dark magic lies upon this forest. The waters of this stream are enchanted.â
âDoesnât look very enchanting to me.â
âWe must find another way across.â
Kili noticed a collection of vines off to the side. He went over and grabbed the nearest one, testing its strength against his own.
âThese vines look strong enough,â he said.
He went to start crossing, but was stopped by Thorin.
âKili! We send the lightest first.â
Kili stepped away from the vines. A few things happened in that next moment. Most of the company turned to look at Bilbo. However, Kili noticed that Oreliell moved to step forward, only to be stopped by Thorin. Kili looked at them. They spoke in hushed voices so no one could hear, but they seemed to be arguing. Before Kili could truly comprehend what he was seeing, the two separated and went back to their previous positions. It all happened so fast that Kili wondered if he had imagined the whole thing. The forest couldnât have been messing with his mind that much, could it?
Bilbo came forward and began to slowly cross the river. He stumbled every now and then. Several times, Kili thought he was going to fall in. Bilbo finally made it across, landing in a heap on the ground.
Thorin motioned for the company to start moving. He took the lead, following a path similar to Bilboâs. Kili exchanged a brief look with his brother as the other dwarves started their journey across the river. He grabbed hold of a vine, testing its strength again before stepping onto another vine.
It was slow moving, but they made progress. Just a little bit further and they would reach the other side.
Suddenly, there was a splash. Kili looked down to see Bombur floating in the river, sound asleep.
âBombur!â Bofur said. âHang on, cousin!â
âDonât!â Oreliell called.
The company looked back at her, finding her and Vedis still standing on the other side of the river.
âWhat are you two still doing over there?â Dori asked.
âEveryone finish crossing,â Oreliell said. âVedis and I will pull Bombur out. Start making a stretcher though, heâs going to be asleep for a while still.â
Several dwarves seemed hesitant to keep moving, but eventually did with some nudging from the others. When they touched dry land again, they started assembling a stretcher using supplies Bilbo had grabbed. Kili watched as the sisters easily crossed through the vines.
They got to where Bombur was and lowered themselves close to the water. Each drew their sword and cut down several of the more sturdy vines around them. Kili watched in amazement as they worked together to guide Bombur toward the shore while still moving gently across the hanging vines. They took their time, making sure to keep their balance while keeping Bombur within reach. Vedis touched the shore first and grabbed hold of Bomburâs feet to keep him steady. Oreliell joined her and together, they pulled Bombur to shore.
âIs the stretcher ready?â Oreliell said. Nori and Ori brought it forward. âHelp us get him on. Weâll have to carry him.â
Once Bombur was settled on the stretcher, they started moving again. They were slower this time than before thanks to the added weight. The company took turns carrying Bombur. Eventually, it was Fili, Kili, Dwalin, and Bofurâs turn.
The further they walked, the more disoriented Kili felt. His mind felt foggy and he had stumbled over his feet several times. The others seemed to be in a similar state. All except for Oreliell and Vedis. Kili wondered if it had to do with their elven heritage that they werenât as affected as the rest of them.
It was Nori who ended up calling for a rest. The company came to a halt, mumbling to themselves as they swayed.
âVoices,â Bilbo suddenly said. âCan you hear them?â
âI hear nothing,â Thorin replied. âNo wind. No birdsong. What hour is it?â
âI do not know,â Dwalin said from behind Kili. âI do not even know what day it is.â
âThis is taking too long. Is there no end to this accursed forest?â
âNone that I can see,â Gloin said. âOnly trees and more trees.â
âWe are making good time,â Oreliell spoke up. âThe forestâs magic alters the mindâs perceptions.â
Thorin suddenly started pushing through the dwarves.Â
âThis way,â he said, starting down an unmarked path.Â
âBut Gandalf said-â
âDo as I say. Follow me!â
Slowly, the dwarves followed after him.
âThorin, no-â Oreliell said, trying to stop them.
âCome on!â
âThorin!â Her voice became more and more distant as Thorin led them deeper into the woods.
They werenât sure how long they traveled before they realized that they had lost the path. They searched and searched for it, but it seemed to be long gone. Balin pointed out that it would be best to keep moving in the same direction they had been moving in.
âLook,â Ori suddenly said, bending down to pick something up.
âA tobacco pouch,â Dori said. âThereâs dwarves in these woods.â
âDwarves from the Blue Mountains, no less,â Bofur added. âThis is exactly the same as mine.â
âThatâs because it is yours,â Bilbo said. âYou understand? Weâre going round in circles. We are lost.â
âWeâre not lost,â Thorin. replied. âWe keep heading east.â
âBut which way is east? Weâve lost the sun,â Oin whined.
âI thought you were the expert,â Dwalin grumbled.
âIâm not the one who lost the sun!â
The dwarves started shoving one another, arguing about who lost the path or the sun. Kili stumbled as Fili was pushed into him, but regained his footing enough to push back.
âEnough!â Thorin shouted. âQuiet! All of you! Weâre being watched.â
Kili woke up to the sensation of falling. He could barely move his limbs, trapped in some kind of sticky sack. His memory came back to him in flashes. Giant spiders had descended upon them out of nowhere. They had injected them with something that knocked them out and wrapped them in webs. Kili wildly tore at the webs, breaking through and breathing in the stale forest air.
âFili!â he called.
âHere, Kili!â his brother responded, a few feet away.
Fili had gotten himself free first and moved to help Kili up.
âQuickly!â Thorin shouted. They looked up and saw more spiders climbing down toward them. âRun!â
Everyone had their swords drawn as they ran. Any spider that came close was hacked at and killed swiftly. Despite their efforts, more spiders kept coming.Â
âOri, look out!â
A figure suddenly dropped from the trees, their blade impaling itself into the oncoming spiderâs head. The company paused in shock. Vedis looked up at them, a smirk on her face.
âAre we done here?â They spun again, finding Oreliell standing behind them, blood on her clothes and sword. âBecause there are more coming.â
Her words seemed to snap them out of their thoughts and they started running. Kili went to go after them, but was grabbed from behind by a spider. He tried to hack at the creature with his sword, but couldnât get a good enough angle.Â
âHelp!â he cried. He could barely hear his brother shout his name.
The spider knocked him to the ground, causing him to drop his sword. It then started to drag him back through the leaves by his foot. Out of nowhere, an elf dropped down from the trees and started killing spiders, shooting the one attacking Kili with an arrow. Kili stumbled to his feet, noticing yet another spider coming toward him. Unable to find his sword in the moment, he called to the elf.
âThrow me a dagger! Quick!â
âIf you think Iâm giving you a weapon, dwarf, youâre mistaken.â
Kiliâs head spun again to look at the elf, taken aback that it was a woman who had saved him. He shouldnât have been that surprised, given how many times the company had been saved by Oreliell and Vedis, but it still caught him off guard. The elven woman spun suddenly and threw a dagger, hitting the spider in the head just before it reached Kili.
Durinu shirumund, Kili thought as the woman stood to her full height. (translation: /By Durin's beard\)

The Hobbit (movies) | Original Character Insert | Fili x OC Wren | Sloooowwwww Burn | Chapter 1
I finally, finally was able to finish the first chapter of this in a way that I'm satisfied with. I'm also getting used to writing a character with they/them pronouns so I hope it reads smoothly enough. If all goes according to plan (but does it ever?) this will be a ten-ish chapter fic that follows the events of the Hobbit Trilogy-ish. I'm very new to writing fan fiction and would love any type of feedback OR recommendations of LOTR/Hobbit fics to read!
The cloak that covered Wrenâs shoulders was more than enough to protect the dwarf from the chill of the cool, crisp air, but still they drew it closer around themself. It gave them something to fiddle with - a way to let out some of the excited nervousness that came before the beginning of all quests. They followed closely behind Balin, wishing for at least the tenth time that the trip to the Shire could have been made in daylight. It was impossible to see any details of the lovingly tended gardens and homes along their route in the dim twilight. Distracted by their attempt to look into an especially large window, Wren stepped on the back of Balinâs boot.
âCareful, child!â Balin chided.Â
Wren murmured an apology, already craning their head in the other direction. They had never been to the Shire before and were positively giddy at the thought of getting to dine in a Hobbit Hole, however skeptical they were that their host would actually join the company.
âAh, thereâs the sign Gandalf mentioned.â Â
Balin motioned towards a circular door 50 feet up the path upon which glowed a single rune. The house whose entry the door guarded was a well crafted one - fresh yellow and green paint were visible by the light spilling out from many windows. Â
Wren bounded forward, practically dragging Balin after them. When they reached the door Wren yanked the doorbell pull and hopped back next to the older dwarf, taking his arm and patting the spot where they had pulled him along in an apologetic sort of way. Balin chuckled and covered Wrenâs hand with his own. Â
Balin had taken a special interest in Wren when they first came to the Blue Mountains looking for any hint or trace of their lineage. After months spent together in the records room, the two had grown quite fond of each other. When no information was uncovered as to Wrenâs origin, Balin had taken it upon himself to teach Wren the traditions and customs of Dwarvish life. Not only did he educate them in Dwarvish styles of metalwork, magic, and enough Khuzdul to get by in a conversation with Bifur, he also introduced them to Dwalin - Wrenâs eventual combat trainer. Wren affectionately referred to the brothers as their Uncles, and in truth Balin and Dwalin were now the closest thing Wren had to family. Â
The door in front of Wren and Balin finally opened and revealed a disgruntled looking Hobbit.Â
Others must be here already, poor fellow, Wren thought to themself. Â
âWren-â
â-and Balin-â
âat your service,â the two dwarves recited, bowing. Â
âGood evening,â replied the Hobbit rather flatly. Â
âYes, yes it is. Though I think it might rain later,â Balin said as he and Wren stepped through the threshold into the warm, glowing entry hall. âAre we late?â Â
Wren spun on the spot, drinking in the craftsmanship of the millwork and furniture. Their eyes landed on Dwalin.Â
âMy dearest Dwuncle!â Wren cried, rushing forward to greet the balding dwarf who had his hand deep in a biscuit jar. Â
A broad grin spread across Dwalinâs face as he discarded the jar and wrapped Wren in a bone crushing hug.Â
âOh ho! Evening, Brother!â cried Balin, leaving the Hobbit mid sentence at the door. Â
The entry of the Hobbit Hole branched off in a number of different directions. As Wren walked over and picked up Dawlinâs dropped jar of biscuits, they passed a dining room and saw the entry to a well stocked pantry. Absent-mindedly munching on a biscuit, Wren continued on into the house, marveling at the bedrooms, bathrooms, libraries, and parlors. Â
Wren did a number of things to make a living: hunting, trading, and transporting goods paid the best and took up most of their time, but carpentry was their favorite. They had crafted themself a snug cottage on the eastern side of the Blue Mountains, deep within a lush valley. It wasnât nearly as large or finely furnished as the home they explored now, but Wren had done it all themself by hand and they were quite proud of it. Â
Laugher and more voices drew Wren out of their thoughts and back to the front of the house. There they found Fili and Kili dragging a sideboard out of the dining room and into the hallway. Â
The brothers caught sight of Wren and both shouted aloud in excitement. Â
âYou came!â cried Fili. âWe werenât sure if the old curmudgeons would let you.âÂ
âLet me?â scoffed Wren. âAs if they could keep me away - someone has to make sure you two donât get yourselves killed!â Â
As the rest of the dwarves arrived, all the provisions were paraded out from the pantry and into the dining room. Wren almost felt sorry for the hobbit - whose name turned out to be Bilbo - as he darted about grabbing up what were undoubtedly priceless family heirlooms from the dwarvesâ clutches. Not sorry enough, however, to stop themself from picking up and examining the trinkets they came across, or from having thirds of everything at dinner. Â
Wren was overwhelmed with merriment. The music, the laughter, the fellowship - it was what they missed when they were out on adventures or in their own home away from the Durinâs Folk Settlement. Yes there were fewer judgements and less confusion about their place in dwarven society when they were on their own, but at their core Wren did love company. This particular group of dwarves warmed their insides until they overflowed with energy and excitement. They gulped beer with Dwalin, burped with Ori, and shouted jests that made everyone roar with laughter.  Â
Once Thorin made his appearance, a stillness fell across the party. He exuded authority and an unflappable seriousness that made you want to pay attention. The warmth in Wrenâs chest fell to a simmer and they sat alert, not wanting to miss a word their leader said.Â
When Thorin sent out a call for aid on his quest Wren had immediately offered to join, even though they were unsure if he would take their help. Being born a dam and having no apparent ties to the refugees of Erebor made Wren an odd party member, but Thorin had just smiled and thanked them for their bravery, welcoming them with a grasp of the hand and a pat on the back.Â
Balin had fussed a bit and claimed Wren wasnât old enough. Luckily that argument fell through when Fili, Kili, and Ori signed up. Dwalin didnât say much one way or another, but insisted Wren stay at the settlement for a full month of intensive training before going back to their cottage to pack and prepare for the journey.Â
During that month, Wren pushed themself harder than they ever had. They wanted to earn their spot in the company and prove that they could hold their own as well as any traditional dwarrow. During the day they ran drills with Dawlin until sweat blinded them and their muscles screamed. In the evenings - after a cold soak to ease their bruised body - Wren studied under Oin to learn more about healing. They had learned the basics about gathering herbs and tending wounds from their own travels, but thought the more they knew, the more valuable a company member they would be.Â
Wren wanted as little fodder as possible for the doubters and gossips who whispered about Thorinâs unconventional choice. These were the same dwarves who would wonder aloud about why a dam would wear dwarrowâs clothes and bind their chest, and were the reason Wren spent so much time out on their own.Â
But now, as Wren sat amongst Durinâs descendants at Bilboâs scrubbed wooden table, they felt at ease. The dwarves here were all at least acquaintances of theirs, and not one of them had ever spoken a word against Wren. Wren knew they had done everything in their power to prepare for the journey at hand, and they felt quite ready to get on with it. Â
So, apparently, was Ori. âIâm not afraid, Iâm up for it! Iâll give that dragon a taste of dwarvish iron right up his jacksie!â Â
There were laughs and mutters as Nori yanked his younger brother back into his seat.Â
âThe task would be difficult enough with an army behind us,â said Balin. âBut we number just fourteen. And not fourteen of the best, or brightest.âÂ
Wren grunted in protest, along with a number of others around the table. Wren appreciated Balinâs wisdom and counsel, but he was rarely optimistic.Â
âWe may be few in number!â cried Fili above the other grumblings. âBut weâre fighters. All of us - to the last dwarf!âÂ
As he emphasized the last part of his declaration his gaze landed on Wren. Wren felt their stomach swoop and they smiled at Fili, boosted by his confidence. Fili smiled back for a moment longer than was necessary before breaking eye contact and turning back to the conversation. Â
Wren lost track of the argument that followed, even as it grew loud. They had always been a daydreamer, thinking up stories or letting their mind wander. They had also always thought fondly of Fili.Â
Fili was one of the first dwarves Balin introduced Wren to. He was an excellent training partner and he and Kili were the first ones to make Wren snort ale out of their nose from laughter. Did Fili enjoy Wrenâs company as much as Wren enjoyed his? Â
Shaking their head, Wren scoffed internally. Now was not the time to get distracted by something so silly. They did their best to stay present for the remainder of the evening, but - despite Wrenâs best efforts - Filiâs smile floated in and out of their mind as the night wore on.Â
Itâs just because heâs a talented swordsman and he thinks Iâm a good fighter, they told themself as they brought Bilbo a cup of tea after the hobbit fainted.
Heâs a prince, of course Iâm going to admire him, they mused as they sat around the fireplace with the other dwarves.Â
There is a dangerous journey at hand, now is not the time to develop a crush, they concluded as they drifted off to sleep.Â
And truly, in the morning, Wrenâs nerves were jangling again. Any thought of Fili was overshadowed by double and triple checking their pack, then by Bilboâs reappearance.Â
By the time the company had truly started off, Wrenâs mind had no space for anything but the adventure that lay ahead.

For the WIP game: Pirate AU - Thorin's Crew!
Sure! Thanks for the ask! âșïž
This WIP is a series of bullet points for planned plot atm with no written scenes.
Though called âThorinâs Crewâ in the WIP, itâs a Fili x OC fic.
The general conceit is that Thorin is a privateer who was falsely accused of stealing something from the local Lord. He ends up finding out who actually has the item and kidnaps that personâs daughter as ransom for the item (intending to return the item to the Lord to clear his name).
(The crew are of course all the members of the Company.)
While a prisoner, the kidnapped daughter and Fili get close and she eventually learns more about whatâs going on. She doesnât think her father will give them the item they want and worries for the crew and her own safety.
She eventually tricks Fili so that she can escape, breaking his heart. (But sheâs actually trying to get the item back for them!)

Cloaked in Green- Prologue
EDITED - 2/22/22
Word Count: 736
Warning(s) by chapter: drinking alcohol, pipe smoking.
A/n: I am literally writing this almost nightly, so please bare with me. I know how this story ends and a basic idea on how it gets there. I'm just terrible at writing trailers.
Summary: Gandalf comes to ask a favor of a friend.
The Prancing Pony had not changed since the last time the old wizard had visited. As it was ever still bustling and hopping as its patrons laughed and danced around the small building, drinking and forgetting their daily troubles.
However, Gandalf wasnât looking for a drink or a room for the night and he certainly couldn't forget his troubles right now. He was looking for someone. Â
So when Gandalf spotted the intimidating figure in the far back corner, he immediately started his way over. Despite the heavy crowd, the way over to the corner was surprisingly easy to get to. The patrons had avoided getting anywhere near the cloaked figure for they had heard the tales.
Rumors that spread over the lands in the last 10 years of the mysterious and calm warrior with no name . A brilliant archer and swordsmen, the tales say that they can slice the throat of any being without a single breath. None had never even seen the face of the said warrior.....or at least claimed to have ever seen it .
As the figure wore their dark green hood so low, all anyone can make out is the bottom portion of a clean shaven face.
With no beard, the popular rumor that the warrior was an elven general from Rivendell that gave up their immortality for a simple life of man, had seemed the most realistic one.
Yet, Gandalf knows that rumor to be untrue, for he happens to knows the sullen warrior quite well. When he finally reached the table, the figure stood up and shook hands with the grey wizard.Â
âGandalf '' the figure spoke softly, so no one could hear the light voice emit from the hood. âIt's been a while.âÂ
âYes, it has my dear friend.â Both sitting now, the wizard leaned over on the table to be heard easier â Indeed it has been a while. Howâs your brother?â The figure nodded leaning closer to the wizard as well. âHe is well, '' Gandalf smiled but before he could continue, the figure was quick to change the subject.Â
âWhen you called this meeting, I hadn't expected you to arrive in Bree till tomorrow, What is so urgent?" The figure moved to grab the full pint and sat it in front of the old wizard, who smiled gratefully and took a big gulp of it before answering.Â
âThat's where this gets a bit complicated I'm afraid. I need to ask a favor of you. How would you like to help me on a quest of mine.â The old wizard bowed his head. âIt seems the dwarves of Erebor are ready to reclaim their homeland, once and for all.âÂ
The figure swifted, leaning closer âI wondered when they would. There's been talk, ravens, returning to the mountain and with Smaug not seen in years. It wonât not long before greedy eyes start to fall on the lonely mountain.âÂ
Gandalf nodded â Iâve too have heard this, which is why for the urgency. If my suspectations are true, Durinâs Day may be their last chance to get into that mountain for a long while.âÂ
âAh, I see, but what do you need with me?â Gandalf noticed the smile the creeped onto the cloaked figure face, as he hesitated to answer âWhat you're getting too old now, Mithrandir? So much so that you canât handle even a small company of Dwarves?âÂ
Scoffing, Gandalf scowled back at them, âNo, I can manage the lot, I just need another Archer and Swordsmen to aid us is all. You know how the woods around here better than anyone I know and We could use an experienced tracker like yourself-."
âWhatever you sayâ the figure chuckled, pausing in merry and as they looked closely at the wizard again, before asking the question that Gandalf was expecting the most.
âDo they know who I am?âÂ
âSurely, they have heard the tales of your battles, my dear.â The wizard was quick with his reply but added after looking into into the figure's stressed eyes. â I have told them about you? No. But they do know that I have requested the 'Green Cloak' to join us, yes.âÂ
The figure leaned slowly back into her chair nodding, as she lifted her small pipe back into her lips, taking a puff. The light from the pipe glowed a faint light, just enough for Gandalf to see the smirk settling on her face. Â
âThen I guess Iâll come, if they are already expecting me.â

Silent Slumber
Pairing: Thorin x OC Summary:Â In which she knew when she had stopped hating his snoring, was certain during which time she had started to enjoy it, but couldnât recall when she could no longer stay sane without it. There had been a time when she had hated it.
Every rumbling intake of breath that made his chest heave before it fell, cheeks blowing out as his intake of oxygen escaped, the quickening of his breath that hinted towards the fact he was pulling himself out of a deep slumber before an exasperated sigh slipped from his lips and he started an endless fight with his scratchy blankets, tossing and turning until another crisp and cool day dawned.
She had listened to it with her back turned to him and her arms crossed, eyes twitching in utter annoyance every time he dared to make a sound, jaws clenched and nose scrunched up, silently working up the nerve to tell Thorin to just go to sleep already - but she never did. No matter how loud he got, and he did get incredibly loud, the sounds of his restless shuffling and his unsteady snores causing dark circles to suffer beneath her eyes.
She had hated it while sharp pebbles and the gangly growth of tangling roots dug into her back when they sheltered underneath a large rock that overhung the path, the unsavoury tales of Orcs and their thirst for blood still fresh in her mind. She hated it when the rattling breaths were loud enough to climb above the sounds of eerie noises whistling in the dark on her bed of fragrant grass after Kili had accidentally dragged her bedroll through the mud. She had hated it while she shivered in silence and listened to stone giants hurling rocks at each other for sport in the distance, lightning piercing the sky and splintering on the snow-topped peaks of the mountains, splitting her leaderâs pupils in half when it casted spiky patterns of pale light on the damp walls of the cramped cave.
Just go to sleep already.
She had stopped hating it when those eager intakes of air were the only certainty she had that he was still alive, his bandaged chest falling and rising weakly, his throat closing and faltering on a breath that made her fly up from her seated position in alarm. She hadnât minded it so much when the feverish nightmares caused by milk of the poppy peeled away his consciousness and he slept soundly for the first time, she hadnât cared at all when he had slumbered quietly with the strength of a man - dwarf, whatever - on the mend, hadnât even batted an eye when the snores returned and alerted her to the fact that he was slowly coming back to himself.
After a while, she even started to enjoy it.
In Mirkwood, where the dark trees of the dense wood seemed alive and angry, the barks netted over with silver cobwebs seemed to notice her and the drooping branches were not only strangely watchful, but were always plotting to catch one of her unsuspecting ankles in their network of tangles.
When the limited slivers of daylight streaming through the trees faded and the moss-covered stems became nothing more than a haze in the depths of midnight, she was certain that those trees whispered to each other in an unintelligible language. She had cowered in her bedroll, until she heard those rumbling breaths beside her and the once aggravatingly annoying sounds had turned into a comforting lullaby, for if their leader could sleep in this forest that seemed to have been created out of all things nightmares were made of, then so could she.
She had eventually started looking for it, even when his mind had been clouded over by the sickness that altered his thoughts and the newly crowned King rarely ever found his bed, she was still on the lookout for the familiar pattern of breath that lulled her right into a dreamless sleep.
Just go to sleep already.
She liked seeing his usually sharp features smoothed out into a soft sort of indifference and if she didnât know any better she would have thought that he almost seemed sweet like this, oddly peaceful, in that innocent sort of way that was lost on adults during the day, especially when his brain swished sickeningly inside of his skull and was trapped in the grip of endless gold.
She knew when she had stopped hating it, was certain during which time she had started to enjoy it, but couldnât recall when she could no longer stay sane without it.
Even now she watched him while he slept, allowing her eyes to crawl across that sharp and angled nose, his strong jaw and the surprisingly delicate curve of his lips, trying to find the secrets hidden in his skin.
Thorin surprised her that night, when his slow breathing quickened and his chest rose with a deep sigh before he pushed himself up into a seated position.
She could feel his eyes carving a trail into her flesh and even though she couldnât see it in the dark, she knew he was making a great show of rolling his eyes, flipping his dark mane over his shoulder with a grand gesture and then, with great booming flourish, he announced:
âMy love, just go to sleep already.â

Don't Die This Time
Kili fanfic where Kili meets a girl who has to go along on their quest on Gandalf's request. The girl captures his attention from the first time they meet and they grow to love each other over the course of the quest.
Pairing: Kili x OC female who can control nature
Note 1: Kili stays alive in this fic, along with Fili and Thorin.
Note 2: English is not my first language, so excuse any mistakes
Chapter 1: Introductions
Warnings: Death (ugly creatures), nothing yet ;)
Her bare feet walk on the soft, damp grass of the forest. The breeze moves through her long black curls and she closes her eyes, enjoying the warmness on her face. Her eyes open when she hears a strange noise coming from afar. The ground vibrates beneath her feet. Something is wrong.
With a deep inhale, she tries to pick up any unfamiliar scents floating around the forest. The vibrations under her feet are becoming more evident. Her eyes snap open when she recognizes the scent.
Orcs.
She scans the forest surrounding her, her eyes searching for those foul creatures. What are they doing this close to her forest? Something must have drawn them here.Â
Not waiting for them to discover her first, she hurries back to her hiding spot. The grass beneath her feet supports her as she makes her way to the middle of the forest. There she finds the ancient tree, towering above the rest of the trees in the forest. She reaches her hand out toward the tree.
The branches snap as they start moving toward her outreached hand. The branch is rough in her hand, holding on while it lifts her off the ground. A few vines intertwine around her body to support her.
The branch places her on the platform she built for herself. She lies down on the old leaves that usually act as her bed. Her eyes search rapidly, looking for anything out of the ordinary.
They would not know where to find her, right? She has kept herself hidden for the last two ages. They were probably drawn here for some other reason. Hopefully.
A commotion erupts from nearby and she places her hand on the wooden platform, feeling the vibrations. There is a group of 15 making their way to her tree with a pack of Orcs not far behind them. Chasing them on the backs of those vile Warg creatures.Â
The group emerges from the trees on her right side and hurries to the tree.Â
âQuickly, climb,â one of the men calls, and she holds her breath. There is no way they can climb this tree. There is nothing to support yourself on.
She watches as they attempt to get a grip, but they all fall after a few climbs. She lets out a relieved breath.Â
A tree tumbles down near them and a dull pain tears through her body. She closes her eyes, knowing that the Orcs are responsible for all this destruction. She hates them.
âWe have to fight,â another says, panic evident in his tone.
âGandalf, why did you lead us here?â Gandalf? Her eyes shoot open and she looks at the group, gathered at the base of the tree. The grey clothes seem all too familiar. Gandalf.Â
The Orcs approach them, forming a circle around the tree. These men stand no chance against the whole pack of Orcs with Wargs. She will have to be quick and effective. None can be left alive.
A Warg lunges at Gandalf, but before Gandalf can strike back, a branch grabs the Warg and flings it into a nearby tree. The group looks around, confused.
âGandalf? Was that you?â another asks. Gandalf shakes his head.Â
The leader of the orc pack gestures for the rest to attack. They run toward the small group, but the ground opens up beneath their feet. They are swallowed by the earth and the earth closes as fast as it opened. The orc leader stops the remaining members from attacking before he yells something in his language. With the help of the vines, she leaps down from her hiding spot and lands in front of the group of defenseless men.
The cursed eyes of the orc look into hers and she waits for him to attack.
Two Wargs attack from the side. Her arms move swiftly to guide the branches to the Wargs. They are captured in the branches, growling at her. She moves her arms again and this leads to the pained yelps of the captured Wargs as they are ripped apart by the branches.
There are few Orcs left and they start to retreat, but she traps them between the trees. They cannot get away.
The trees unroot themselves and start to trample the remaining Orcs and Wargs. There is a moment of terror-filled screeches filling the air before the atmosphere becomes peaceful once again. The trees step back into their positions and it almost seems like they are returning to slumber. She knows they never sleep though.
A small smile spreads on her face, satisfied that none of the Orcs got away. That could have been disastrous.Â
âGaia, my old friend.â Gandalfâs voice reminds her of the existence of the company behind her. She turns on her heel to face them, her smile growing.
âGandalf,â Gaia says with excitement, hurrying to him. He crouches down as she pulls him in for a hug. He chuckles into the embrace and Gaia tightens her embrace. She never thought she would see Gandalf here. How did he know where to find her? She knows better than to assume this was a coincidence.
âI was wondering whether you were still here,â Gandalf says as she steps back. She frowns slightly.
âYou seem to always know where I am.â Gandalf has a warm smile. âYou sneaky wizard. You know too much,â Gaia says with a wink which causes Gandalf to hum in agreement. Her gaze moves from Gandalf to the rest of the company behind him.Â
âAh, yes. Gaia, this is Thorin Oakenshield, the . . . â
âKing under the mountain.â Gaia stares momentarily at the dwarf who steps forward. He looks exactly like Thror, who she supposes was his grandfather. She heard about Smaug taking what was once the dwarvesâ home for his own, selfish needs.Â
Gaia bows properly to the dwarf before she comes up, meeting his surprised gaze.
âYou know of me?â he asks, his voice deep and rough.
âI knew your grandfather. You look quite alike,â Gaia says with a warm smile. Thorin gives a slight bow of his head, a barely noticeable smile appearing.Â
âThis is his nephews, Fili and Kili,â Gandalf says, gesturing another two dwarves to the front. A blond dwarf steps to the front first, followed by a dark-haired one. They bow in unison.
âFili,â the blonde dwarf says.
âAnd Kili,â the dark-haired dwarf follows before they bow in unison again.
âAt your service,â Fili finishes. Gaia cannot help the giggle that escapes her lips. Dwarves sometimes have the strangest names. Then again, they would view her name as strange as well.
âGaia.â She bows slightly to them. Kili smiles brightly at her before following his brother back to where they stand.
A few of the other dwarves come to introduce them and Gaia has to bite back the laughter. They truly have the strangest names. Oin, Gloin . . . What were the others? And she has never met a hobbit before. They are quite adorable.
âThis is all well, but why have we come here?â Thorin asks roughly, his eyes on Gandalf. He is less friendly than his grandfather.
âWe needed the assistance. I will explain everything, but first,â Gandalf turns to Gaia. Gaia purses her lips as she already knows why Gandalf is here. This is not the first time he has come to her for assistance. Gaia almost died the last time she decided to help the wizard.Â
âGaia,â Gandalf says, turning to her, âmay I speak to you in private?â She nods and leads Gandalf away from the company.Â
She comes to a stop a few steps away from the ears of the dwarves and hobbit. They should not be able to hear them here.Â
âGandalf, you cannot ask that of me. Especially not with the forces that are involved in this quest. I am too vulnerable,â Gaia says in a soft voice. Gandalf squints his eyes at her, knowing what she is capable of.
âI would not ask you if I were not forced to.â Gaia lets out a tired sigh. âAnd you have never been vulnerable to the evil that is present. You fight it every day when you go out to look after nature. We are in need of your skills for this quest to be successful. Do you not want the dwarves to claim back their home? Which has been lost for so long.â Gandalfâs eyes are pleading.
Gaia looks back to the company, who has decided to sit down. They must be exhausted from being hunted by the Orcs. And more are sure to follow. The Orcs have always been greedy for that gold, along with the Elves.Â
âI am not sure, Gandalf. What if- â
âI will be with you every step. You will not lose control,â he says, his hand reaching out to her shoulder to give her an encouraging squeeze.Â
âWell, I obviously cannot say no. Why not? I have nothing else of importance to do.â Gandalf gives a warm laugh and bows his head in response.
âI knew you would agree.â Gaia shakes her head with a slight smile. He knows too much.
They make their way back to the company which is complaining about their food supply, which is apparently dangerously low.Â
âI can get you food. If you want meat, you will need to send a hunter with me. I do not kill animals,â Gaia says, stopping next to Bilbo. The company goes quiet, all eyes moving to Thorin. Gaia also fixes her eyes on him, waiting for an answer.
âWhat is the purpose of her?â Thorin asks, ignoring her as he looks to Gandalf.Â
âShe will be useful to your quest, Thorin. Do not be stubborn,â Gandalf warns, but this does not seem to have an effect on Thorin. Dwarves are known to be stubborn. Before Thorin can open his mouth, Gaia interrupts him.
âI can provide food. I know plants are poisonous and which can be used for healing.â Gaia decides to rather refrain from exposing all her skills. She does not want to sound boastful. Thorin seems to be considering her offer when another dwarf, the fattest of the company, decides to contribute his opinion.
âI say we should keep her. Iâm starved. If she can provide food, she is part of the company,â he says, followed by a few agreeing hums from some of the other dwarves. Thorin looks around the company, letting out a silent sigh. He turns to Gaia.
âProvide food first. We will decide on the matter after a proper meal.â Gaia bows her head. She takes a breath before she focuses on the rest of the company.
âAnyone want to join me as the hunter?â The company argues amongst themselves before Kiliâs hand shoots up.
âIâm the best with a bow,â he says with confidence. Gaia gestures for him to follow her. She starts to the rest of the forest with a smile.Â
His footsteps follow her as they make their way deeper into the forest. Gaia picks plenty of fruit and plants as they make their way to where the rabbits are. There should also be a few deer from the vibrations she felt.
âAre you also a wizard?â Kiliâs voice comes from next to her and she turns her head to him, continuing to walk softly.Â
âSomething like that,â she says with a smile. Kili frowns at her statement, but she shushes him before he can ask another question. He is going to chase all the animals away.
Gaia makes her way to a nearby tree and Kili follows her. They stop behind the tree and she points to the deer roaming nearby. Kili readies his bow and aims at the deer. Gaia closes her eyes, waiting for the pain. She understands that they have to eat meat and she also eats it, but she can never bring herself to do the killing herself.
The arrow flies through the air and hits a deer, the pain tightening her chest. Killi runs to the dead deer that lies in the grass. He hoists the deer over his shoulders and walks back to Gaia. Â
âIs that all you are going to hunt?â she asks him. Kili furrows his brows at her.
âNo,â he says, almost offended. Gaia turns to lead him to the rabbits, but he stops her. He lifts the deer off his shoulders and holds it out to her.Â
âWhat?â She stares at him in confusion. He places the deer in her arms and she groans under the weight. How could he carry this much weight so easily?
âIâm going to follow the other deer. I cannot shoot with that on my shoulders.â He starts to where the deer ran off to and Gaia swallows the groan that wants to escape her. How is she supposed to keep up with a whole deer in her arms?
Kili has made it farther from her as she still struggles with the deer. She was aware that dwarves were strong, but it would seem she had underestimated their strength.
The same pain suddenly hits her and she stumbles with the deer, almost hitting the ground. She reaches her hand out for vines to hold onto and she drops the deer onto the grass. The vines hold her up until she finds her balance. Kili must have made another kill.
Gaia waits for Kili to emerge from where he had disappeared into the thicker part of the trees, but he does not show up. She picks up the deer, groaning in the process.
When she has balanced the deer in her arms, the worry starts to seep in when Kili still does not emerge. Her heart stops for a moment and she drops the deer again, rushing to where Kili disappeared to.
She quickly moves through the trees and comes to a halt when she sees Kili. She lets out a relieved sigh, her heart returning to normal. He is alive.
Kili notices her and gives her a confused smile when he realizes she is staring at him.
âI thought something might have happened to you. Why are you taking so long?â Gaia asks when Kili reaches her with the deer over his shoulders.
âI did not get a clear shot and had to take two shots. These trees seem to move on their own accord.â Kili leads Gaia back to the other deer. âAnd why do you leave this unattended? Anything could have taken this,â Kili scolds. Gaia laughs softly.
âNothing has lived in this forest that ate meat since I started to live here, so you have to be worried about.â Kili nods before he gestures for her to place the other deer on his shoulders. Gaia frowns at him, unsure whether he will be able to take the weight of another deer.
âCome on, it is getting darker,â Kili urges her on and she struggles to lift the deer from the ground, earning a soft chuckle from Kili. She manages to get the deer onto his shoulders, but she keeps her hands out to catch him in case he falls. She also moves any obstacles from his path on their way back to the tree.
Kili tries to tell her that he can manage the weight, but she does not believe him. Her hands are not far from Kiliâs back, her fingers occasionally brushing against his back. She is focusing on keeping him upright and to keep anything from tripping him.
âGaia, I will survive. Would you lead me back to the rest of my company? I am afraid I do not remember the way back.â Gaia steps to the front and leads Kili back to the ancient tree.
Kili drops the deer next to the circle that has formed from the company, a fire already started for the meat. Fili and Bofur, she thinks, help Kili to skin the deer and to gut it.
Gaia pulls the plants and fruits from her pockets and places them next to the fire. They can use some of the herbs to add more flavor to the meat and there are some sweet fruit to accompany the meat.
âWell, from here, we have to make our way to the Misty Mountains. It is not ideal, but it is the fastest way to Erebor,â Thorin informs Dwalin and Balin who sit on either side of him. Gandalf and Bilbo are smoking their pipes and Gaia decides that it would be wiser to sit with them. Thorin does not seem fond of her presence. His father was like that. He must have gotten his personality from Thrain.
Gaia falls down on the grass next to Gandalf, her eyes on Kili and Fili. Kili seems nothing like Thorin. She does not know anything about him, except that he is the best shooter in the group and he has a kind smile. Little arrogant, but so are most dwarves.
âGaia, from what race are you? Are you a wizard, like Gandalf?â Bilbo asks from next to Gandalf and she turns her head to him. Gandalf takes a puff from his pipe, waiting for her to answer.
âUh, well, not exactly. I was created to,â Gaia interrupts herself to think of the right phrasing, âcontrol natural elements. So, I am not a wizard and I do not belong to any race, like Elves or Hobbits. I am . . . one of a kind,â Gaia says with a laugh. Bilbo inhales from his pipe, looking at her with confusion in his eyes.
âAh,â he states simply, not seeming to want to pry. She smiles to herself. Gandalf gives her a sly smile and she winks at him.
âAre these safe to eat?â Bombur asks while he eyes the fruits next to the fire. Gaia nods and grabs a few different fruits. Thorinâs hand shoots out to stop Bombur from taking a bite which earns Thorin a glare from Bombur.
âHow do we know she does not want to poison us?â Thorin asks. Gaia inhales the tired sigh that wants to escape. She does not have the strength to prove herself to Thorin. He is a dwarf, so naturally he is going to question everything and doubt everyone. She is starting to regret agreeing to go on this quest.
âUncle, come on. She has no reason,â Kili defends Gaia. Gaiaâs eyes snap to Kiliâs and he has a determined look on his face. This dwarf has just been surprising her since he arrived.
âKili is right, Thorin,â Gandalf adds. Thorin goes to protest their argument when Gaia takes a fruit from Bomburâs grip and bites into it. The sweetness fills her mouth and a little bit of the juice rolls down her chin. She chews the fruit and swallows it visibly. Bombur lets out a huff, glaring at Gaia.
âSafe, I promise. I know what is safe and what is poisonous. I would not want to poison you or else I will have to face the wrath of your people. You can eat it,â Gaia says, taking her seat next to Gandalf. Bombur puts two fruits in his mouth at the same time, enjoying the taste as he loudly chews them. Gaia shakes her head with a smile. Dwarves also have no table manners.
Bofur is cooking the meat over the fire, and everyone talking about something else. Kili and Fili are sitting next to each other, also caught up in their conversation. Gaia enjoys the chatty atmosphere.
It has been so long since she was amidst these many voices. The last time she had company with something other than animals and trees, was with Gandalf on their own quest.
Gaia shakes her head at the memories. This quest will hopefully turn out better than the last one.
The meat is ready and everyone lines up to get their portion of the food. Gaia stays back. She can get herself some fruit and plants later. She does not want to eat the dwarvesâ food. They are starving.
Gandalf has disappeared to who knows where and Bilbo has decided to join the conversation of Thorin and a few of the other dwarves, leaving Gaia alone. She rests against the tree and keeps her gaze toward the forest. Usually, there is never any trouble, but today has made up for the past hundred years of peace.
Her hands find the grass next to her and she feels for the vibrations that are unusual. There is only that from the dwarves and then the animals and trees from the forest.
The dwarves start to sing and Gaia laughs at their loudness. Bofur sings the loudest and dances around the fire. Gaia keeps her eyes on him, just to ensure nothing happens, like him falling into the fire. She has never been able to fully control flames and she would not want to start tonight. The dwarves dance together while singing and she notices Bilbo sitting on an uncovered root from the tree.
The dwarves continue for a good while, only getting louder and spilling their food all over the place. They end their song with a loud cheer and Gaia claps for them, laughing heartily at their antics. This has been the most fun she had in a while.
âLass, come here. We need to talk about your role in the company,â Balin says and gestures for her to come over to them. She gets up and walks over to Balin. He pats the open spot next to him and she sits down, her eyes on the grass.
âI have already said what I can offer. I can also protect you from Orcs and any other threats,â she admits. Balin hums while he looks at Thorin. Her eyes follow Balinâs and land on Thorinâs stare.
His eyes stay on her, considering whether she is worthy to be part of the company. Thorinâs eyes flicker to Bilbo who is sitting not far from him. He shrugs his shoulder slightly before he looks into Gaia's eyes.
âAll right. You may travel with us. As long as you provide food and protection,â Thorin says, his hand reached out to Gaia. Gaia stands up and shakes his hand. Thorin gives a tight nod. âGet some rest. We travel at the first dawn. Dwalin, you take the first watch.â
âOh, I can take the watch. I do not need a lot of sleep.â Gaia waits for Thorin to give her an answer. He shakes his head.
âYou will be needing sleep. Good night.â Gaia watches the dwarves make their beds and settle in for the night. She supposes she should try to get some sleep. Not that it would last long.
Gaia turns to the tree and the branches move to pick her up to the tree. As she is lifted off the ground, she looks back down at the company. Her eyes catch Kili already looking at her as she rises higher from the ground. He quickly averts his gaze and climbs under his covers.
Gaia bites back a smile at his reaction. It must be strange to see her hanging from branches and vines.
She sits on the old leaves, staring at the forest surrounding her. Dread fills her when she realizes she will leave the forest behind. It will be all right. It has always survived without her before she arrived.
Dwalin takes his position on a root next to the tree and hums to himself. Gaia decides that she would rather not sleep tonight. What if something followed the company into her forest? She will at least be able to take care of the problem without waking them.
With a determined breath, she leans against a branch and keeps watch with Dwalin, without the latterâs knowledge.

CHAPTER XXVII
A Kili X OC fanfic
Previous chapter // Next chapter
Tw: Mentions/description of hand-to-hand combat, Fili gets his ass beaten, dragon sickness, Thorin being delusional. A little Bagginshield (Iâm giving the fans what they want), but itâs hinted. False accusations.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Fili and Raewyn fight and we finally see something of her strength as a ranger
A cold breeze hung in the air as Raewyn dangled her legs from the entrance of Erebor. She had helped the dwarves look for the Arkenstone out of pity eventually, but hours turned into days, which turned into sleepless nights. And unlike Thorin's loyal subjects, Raewyn knew when to stop. So far, she had slipped past their eyes unknowingly. And even if they had noticed her, they would not find her. Not yet, in any case. The rubble Smaug had caused had simultaneously created a stairway up the gates of the kingdom, allowing her to look over the skyline, that under any other circumstances would have been breathtaking.
Bilbo had obeyed Thorin's words and sought the halls well behaved, but Raewyn was having none of it. The mad king was steering his mindless followers and it angered her to the core. It was exactly what she had been warned for growing up; People who thought themselves to be above all others. Doing and going as they please, not minding the consequences. And the company had turned into a mere machine for him to work. Balin had already advised her to not face Thorin now, but she feared she might any time soon.
And so she said there, getting that fresh air she had been lacking for days. Laketown and its survivors still lay heavy on her mind as she did her best to refrain from grabbing any gold from the mountains of treasure.
She should just leave, she knew this. There was no more reason for her to stay. The dragon had been slain, the mountain had been reclaimed and Thorin became king. Yet, part of her pulled back. Dwarves lived under the will of their ruler, but not like this. She could not let them tire themselves just because their king had lost his mind. She had almost laughed upon realizing Thorin went mad in his first week of ruling, but she was aware that this was a serious matter. And most of the dwarves in there had become her friends. Or at least dear companions. She could not leave them up to their fate like that. Even if they were convinced it was the right way.
"Am I interrupting?" A voice suddenly asked, knocking Raewyn out of her thoughts.
She turned slightly in her seat, smirking upon seeing the person who had followed her up.
"For a moment I thought you were someone else." She admitted, nodding her head towards the empty space beside them.
"You were expecting my brother?" Fili smiled, accepting her offer as he sat down beside her.
"Yes." She answered honestly, no longer seeing reason to lie about it.
Fili chuckled in response, chucking a pebble towards the ruins in front of them.
"Sorry to disappoint."
"Don't be," The ranger shook off. "You are great company as well."
A short silence fell over the pair, both of them taking some time for themselves. Time to breathe, time to think. Yet, as Fili looked over the burned town on the lake, Raewyn looked at him in confusion, only now realizing he was no longer in the treasure room.
"Why are you here?" She asked bluntly, turning her head slightly. "Should you not be looking for your stupid stone?"
Fili sighed deeply, staring at his hands as he shook his head. He was bothered by something, and it did not take a genius to figure that out.
"Well, first of all, it is not a stupid stone," He tried to lighten his feelings, smiling only a little bit as he looked up at Raewyn. "The Arkenstone is the crown jewel of the king."
"Oh yes, do forgive me," She spoke, fake apology laced in her voice. "I forgot kings need to express their power and ego with objects and not with actions. Do continue."
The blonde laughed at her words, resting his arms behind him as he rested against them, taking a deep breath.
"I needed to get out of there," He confessed, the smile slowly disappearing from his face. "The room was driving me insane."
Raewyn hummed in understanding, repeating Fili's gesture as she too leaned against her arms. The dwarf who was earlier smiling, now appeared glum, a look so solemn she had begun to wonder if she had imagined his laugh earlier.
"Balin told me about dragon sickness before the journey," He finally mumbled, no longer looking at the Asha beside him.
He had been so worried since they reclaimed Erebor, but he could not rant about his problems to his uncle, for he was now driven mad. And he dared not bother his younger brother with it, scared he might worry for him than he worries for himself.
"Do you think it'll get to me too?"
Raewyn frowned at his words, a sympathetic look falling over her face.
"Of course not," She tried to reassure. "You are strong, Fili. Stronger than you give yourself credit for. And above all," She continued, shifting her weight onto one arm as she poked his chest with the other lightly. "You have a good heart. It cannot be poisoned by a dragon's spell, I am sure of it."
"Thank you," Fili whispered, before raising his voice again. "But words do not make fear go away."
"Well, you are not wrong," The ranger mumbled, looking back over the lake. "Do you know what? If you do go insane, I will personally hit you on the head to slam the sickness out of you."
"Does that work?" The dwarf asked, another tiny smile climbing onto his face.
"Has anyone ever tried it?" Raewyn shot back with a playful tone.
Fili shrugged at her, looking back towards the rubble they had both climbed. Raewyn followed his gaze, standing up as she saw the open wall.
"I'm going to take a walk through Erebor," She announced, stretching her back as she looked down at Fili. "Feel free to join me. Yesterday, I found an old library. I want to see if it has any good books."
"A library?" The dwarf repeated, standing up as well as he followed the ranger down the rubble. "I did not take you for a bookworm."
"Well," She sighed, jumping off of the giant boulders, sticking the landing perfectly. "You travel, and hunt, and fight. Sometimes, all you truly need is a good book to escape reality every once in a while."
She waited below as Fili busied himself with climbing down carefully, instead of leaping as Raewyn had done. "I never carry books when I'm travelling. Too much luggage."
The blonde got back on the floor safely, nodding in understanding. Raewyn merely smiled at him, already making her way through the halls. She had not walked through them that often yet, and she knew she was bound to get herself lost. But she had been waiting all day to return to that library. And Fili needed an escape from the treasure hoard. If anything was going to cure it, it was a dusty room that smelled of old parchment and dull wood.
"It is here in these halls," A silent call echoed through the halls, gaining the attention of the pair. "I know it."
"Thorin," Raewyn mumbled, looking towards Fili, who once again appeared grief-stricken.
Understanding his quiet conflict, she turned around, following the sound as she gestured for Fili to follow her.
"We have searched and searched-" A second voice spoke up, louder than before, signaling that the two were getting closer.
"Not well enough!" Thorin boomed.
Around the corner, a golden glow illuminated the walls, making the dwarf sigh deeply. Raewyn halted upon the sound, facing him.
"You don't have to-"
"I want to." He interrupted, a steadfast look on his face.
The ranger took a deep breath, nodding at him in reassurance as they rounded a corner. The pair found themselves a floor above the throne room, where Thorin, Dwalin, Balin, and Bilbo had gathered. Both Fili and Raewyn were looking directly at their backs, so - thankfully - their presence would go unnoticed.
"Thorin, we all would see the stone returned." Dwalin tried to persuade, a gentle layer on his voice. One that sounded so foreign to the Asha.
"And yet, it is still not found!" The king raged, throwing his hands up in frustration.
"Do you doubt the loyalty of anyone here?" Balin asked. In response, Thorin turns around to face the three. As if a sudden alarm went off, Raewyn took a step back, pulling Fili with her as they stood in the shadows.
"The Arkenstone is the birthright of our people." The older dwarf went on.
Thorin's eyes wandered over the room, until they strayed towards the balcony, only a mere inches from where Raewyn and Fili had stood earlier. The ranger held her breath as the dwarf took a second step back, not taking his chances.
Before Raewyn could follow Fili's steps, Thorin's eyes fell on her, making her stop in her movements. She stared right back at him, not knowing whether to argue with him or to run with Fili. Yet, as he kept looking at her, she began to doubt if he had even seen her. She had seen him staring off into empty spaces before. He could not have seen her, she was safely hidden.
"Mark my words," Thorin seethed, his eyes still on Raewyn, though he spoke to the company in front of him. "It is the Asha. She is up to something."
"You cannot say that. The lass has been nothing but helpful." Balin defended, calling Thorin's attention to him, much the ranger's relief.
"Is that so?" Thorin taunted. "How often have you seen her these past days? How often has she threatened me? For what reason does she remain here? Is the dragon not slain?!" He turned around in anger, marching up towards the throne, though he did not sit down upon it.
"She has it. She is hiding it!"
"Th-Thorin," Bilbo stuttered, shaking his head wildly. "Raewyn would have no use for it. She does not care for kingdoms, nor possessions."
"She has taken it to taunt me." The dwarf shook off, ignoring Bilbo's words. "To torture me for taking my heirloom from me. It is the King's Jewel. Am I not the king?!"
His company shrunk under his shouts, backing away slightly.
"Find the Asha," Thorin raged, walking up towards Dwalin and Balin. "Bring her to me."
ââ
"You need to get out."Â Fili spoke as he and Raewyn rushed through the halls, having suspected Thorin might check out the balconies. Even more after his - possible unconscious - eye contact with the Asha.
"For what? I haven't taken anything." Raewyn argued calmly, far more laid-back than Fili, whose heart was raging at the moment.
"It won't matter to him," Fili anxiously explained, looking through the halls to make sure no one was meeting them. "He will find some form of punishment for you, guilty or not."
"Of course, he will," The Asha agreed, following the nearly running dwarf. "But it was about time we had a good conversation."
"I do not think he will want to talk to you," The blonde ranted on, marching down the stairs. "I think you'd go straight to your sentence."
"Do you think I actually meant to have a conversation with him?" Raewyn laughed silently, nearly angering Fili at her surprisingly laid-back demeanor. "We won't sit down and calmly discuss this matter. He will lose his mind even more than now and I will lash out."
That made the prince halt in his steps, stopping halfway through the stairs, looking up at Raewyn, who raised her eyebrows at his sudden stop.
"If you know this will happen, why confront him?" He whispered harshly, pointing towards the woman.
"Someone needs to knock some sense into him." Raewyn merely shrugged, walking past Fili.
"He is the king now," The dwarf tried to convince, running after the ranger, grabbing her sleeves as he pulled her back. "He will have the upper hand!"
"Are you saying you think your uncle could win from me?" She wondered, almost cornering Fili.
"I am saying he will not show you mercy." He answered nonetheless.
"Good," Raewyn nodded, prying her sleeve from Fili's hands, before rounding the corner, heading straight for the throne room. "That makes two of us."
"Raewyn!" A second voice called, followed by a shorter figure running up to the pair. "You need to go to Laketown!"
"Bilbo," She sighed inwardly, slowing her pace.
"He has lost his mind. He thinks you stole the Arkenstone!" He hissed, trying to step in front of the Asha to stop her, but every time she simply seemed to walk past him.
"I know. Spare your energy, Fili already tried to convince me to run," She spoke to him. "It won't work."
"Raewyn, I don't know what he will do!" Bilbo went on, once again, standing in front of her, more firmly this time.
With a roll of her eyes, Raewyn grabbed his sides, lifting him from the floor in one go, before setting him down beside Fili, resuming her path. Bilbo remained silent at the sight, but quickly caught up with reality again.
"Ho- how do you even know about what he-"
"I am a ranger, Bilbo. I know how to be silent." The Asha interrupted.
"But you don't know when to stop." Fili mumbled, before grabbing both shoulders of the ranger, yanking her back. Caging her between his arms, Raewyn struggled in his arms, trying to push him off.
"I will kick you, Fili." She warned.
"You won't." He replied. With those words, she took a sharp kick backward, hitting his shin rather harshly, causing him to let go of her.
"A little help?" Fili asked, looking at Bilbo, who only took a step back, not knowing what to do.
The dwarf groaned at the hobbit's movements. Raewyn had now taken a quicker pace, one that alarmed him. Without a second thought, he ran at her, tackling her to the floor as he did his best to not throw her too hard.
"You kicked me." He stated, almost wounded.
"I warned you." The Asha shot back, turning around so she was laying on her back, giving her another opportunity to kick. Fili was quick to realize it, and placed his shin across her legs, forcing them down.
"You cannot go to Thorin." The dwarf commanded, dodging a punch she was throwing towards his face.
"That is my choice to make," She hissed. "Don't be difficult."
Lashing her arm out again, she hit her elbow against Fili's face, making him falter his hold on her momentarily. In an attempt to escape, she punched between his shoulder blades quickly, causing him to inhale deeply, the air knocked out of his lungs suddenly.
In his moment of weakness, she pushed him off of her, scrambling back up, brushing her shirt down.
Coughing the air back in his lungs violently, the dwarf rose to his feet as well, launching himself at the ranger again. Her back roughly collided with the wall as she groaned in objection. Though Fili was slightly shorter than her, he was strong nonetheless, and Raewyn found it to be quite difficult to run from his hold. His hands were pushed against her shoulder blades tightly, forcing her back.
After finding out pushing back against him would not work, and she slowly began to run out of breath, she jumped up suddenly. Her legs swiftly wrapped around his waist, taking the dwarf by surprise as he turned around in shock. Now being faced the other way, she fell back down, grabbing his left arm. Turning around quickly, she separated her legs for a better stance. Tightening her grip on his arm, she threw him over his shoulder swiftly, making Bilbo wince at the sight.
When she prepared to walk off again, Fili's hand grabbed her leg tightly. A sharp hiss slipped past her lips as she turned around in objection. Though the leg had been healed by Tauriel, it was still fairly sensitive. She was sure Fili did not know. Otherwise, he would have never grabbed it.
"What if he banishes you?" He asked pleadingly, looking up at the Asha.
"That is my problem, not yours." She simply stated, leaning down to get Fili's hands off.
"It is mine. Because if you leave, Kili leaves," He spoke, his eyes now looking directly into hers, having been at eye level once more. "Thorin will never let me run after him."
Those words made Raewyn hesitate slightly, retreating her hand from Fili's, looking down at him in sympathy.
"I know he is getting older as well, and he has the whole world for himself," He confessed, slowly letting go of Raewyn's leg. "But he's still my little brother."
The ranger frowned slightly, taking a deep breath inwards as she allowed adrenaline to fade from her system. With one final look, she offered Fili her hand, taking a single step back. With a slight smile, he accepted her hand. With a strong nudge, she pulled the dwarf off the floor, dusting off his shoulders.
"I cannot run from Thorin forever." She stated, breathing heavily from their fight only seconds earlier.
"No, but we can stall," Fili explained, flattening his hair, his breathing heavy as well. "Perhaps the stone will be found tomorrow, and you would already be punished."
Placing his hand on her shoulder hesitantly, he gave her a sincere look, a hopeless smile on his face. "His madness will fade, I am sure of it. Don't confront him while he is so up in his anger."
Raewyn only nodded, looking into the throne room briefly.
"Two days," She decided. "I will stay in that library for two days. It has a tiny window, I will know when the sun has set."
"It's good enough," Fili commented, uttering a sigh of relief. "I will bring you some food every morning."
"And Kili?" Raewyn added nearly immediately after.
"Would you go missing - and his nephew, Thorin would know something is going on." The dwarf insisted. "Best to avoid more suspicion."
Raewyn knew he was right. If she were to hide for two days, it would be best to not pull anyone in there with her. Just to avoid more problems.
"Will you at least tell him?" She tried.
"Of course." He nodded, patting her shoulder for the last time before uttering a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Fili." The ranger spoke, taking a step back from the throne room, inhaling deeply as she prepared herself to walk towards the space she had found a mere day prior.
"No," The dwarf denied, shaking his head lightly. "Thank you."
ââ
"I do not think it would be difficult to hide in here."Â Bilbo expressed as Raewyn opened the doors to the dusty, yet breathtaking library.
"Nor do I," The ranger. "But I do wish someone would knock some sense into Thorin."
"As do I." Bilbo sighed as he sat down on one of the benches Raewyn had cleaned the same morning.
Seeing her friend's defeated look, she sat down beside him, rubbing his knee in comfort.
"You have conflicted feelings about him, or am I wrong?" She mused, a slight smirk on her face.
Bilbo seemed taken aback by her words, coughing in embarrassment as his face grew a faint blush, one that happened often when he felt uncomfortable.
"I- I do not. I worry for him." He explained, but Raewyn only raised her eyebrows at his speech, forming her lips in a thin line. A low hum escaped from her throat as she nodded her head slowly.
"Yes, you do."
"You are an absolute heathen." The hobbit mumbled, looking down at his lap.
"Don't worry. I won't tell." She promised, her eyes lingering on his coat.
Before Bilbo could move, or notice her look, her hand shot towards the fabric, pulling the Arkenstone from the pocket within.
"Nor will I tell about this."
"Raewyn!" He yelped in surprise. "I, I am sorry. I was going to tell them-"
"Don't," She pressed, handing the gem back to him. "I'd rather they think I have it than you. You are wise to keep it from Oakenshield."
Bilbo sighed in guilt, storing the stone back into his coat pocket.
"Balin explained to me Thorin suffers from dragon sickness." He confessed, having understood that hiding the Arkenstone might have actually been the smartest option.
Raewyn nodded at him, though she already had her suspicions about the mad king.
"It was doomed to happen eventually," She addressed. "History always manages to repeat itself. And you will not understand it until you see it for yourself."
"Life is cruel," The hobbit complained, throwing his legs over each other on the bench. "The past should stay in the past, do you not think so?"
"Not always," The ranger objected, looking at Bilbo as his eyes ran back to her. "Not all history is evil."
As he usually did, he looked at Raewyn with newfound interest, silently urging her to continue. She found him doing it often when she was speaking, and she would have nearly laughed, had it not been such a serious subject.
"My father had this habit of squeezing my hand three times," She began, squeezing her hand together subconsciously. "He did it with my mother when they were still young. He never was good with words, but it was his way of letting her know he loved her."
Shaking her head slightly, she adjusted her seat, pushing herself up on her hands. "I never understood why he didn't just tell her. You never do, until it happens to yourself."
Bilbo smiled at her words, standing up from his seat as he walked through the room.
"Okay, maybe not all history is evil." He announced, empathizing the 'all'.
From the window, something caught his attention. With a frown, he climbed on top of a smaller chair, possibly used for young dwarflings when Erebor was still flourishing. As he pushed himself up, Raewyn approached him, curiosity overtaking her.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Is that Bard?" Bilbo countered, pointing towards the approaching horse in the distance.
Raewyn squinted her eyes at the sight, trying to get a better look.
"It is." She whispered. "What is he doing here?"
Her head immediately shot towards the hidden spot above the gates of Erebor, her feet already carrying her to the door.
"Don't go out there!" Bilbo warned. "They will see you."
The ranger smiled at him, opening the door as she gestured for the hobbit to go first.
"No, they won't."

Your facade was slowly dropping, you could feel it. The stress was building ever so slowly and not even Althea could take that part away. In fact you had once taken it out on her which made you avoid everyone and everything.
You were nowhere close to catching Altheaâs abductors and the longer they were out there the more stressed you got. They could strike at any moment and you didnât know when it might happen which was what put you on edge the most. No one could dig you out of the hole you created for yourself.
You stop from your pacing as someone knocks on the door and you sigh, going to open it and you give a small smile as Legolas face appears before you. You had both apologized for the way you acted as both were done in the heat of the moment and all was forgiven.
âYou are wearing yourself out. We can all feel it,â Legolas says pushing past you into your chambers, âAlthea is upset and Fili can only do so much to keep her happy. She misses you Y/n.â
âI know but I am afraid. Afraid of hurting her once again. She doesnât deserve that and I do not deserve to be around her. Not at this moment in time,â you tell him. âBut she is hurting y/n. You must go to her,â Legolas says and you sigh, giving into your brothers wishes and he takes you to Filiâs room. You knock and Fili opens the door and he looks absolutely tired and he sends you a glare as soon as he realizes itâs you.
âI hate you for the pain that youâve caused Althea. You do not deserve her,â Fili says before moving aside and you walk in hearing sniffles and the sniffles lead you to Filiâs bedroom.
Althea was hiding under a blanket but you knew that she was crying. You move under the blankets and pull her close.
âIâm so sorry bug. I did not mean to hurt you so much. I was trying so hard not to hurt you that I realized by ignoring I hurt you even more,â you tell her and she wraps her arms around your neck.
âI missed you so much, y/n!â She says and you can feel the wetness of her tears on your neck and you pull her closer to you. âI promise I will never hurt you again,â you say and you hold her close until you feel her arms go slack and you know that sheâs sleeping. You bring the covers over your faces and you look down at your niece and your heart breaks even more. She looks like sheâs been crying for a while and there were slight signs of darkness under her eyes and now you understood why Fili hated you. You had caused this much pain into your favorite elf because you were selfish. You hear the door open and you are surprised when not only Thranduil walks in but Thorin as well.
âWeâve found them.â
Bardâs most trusted advisor was the one behind the attacks. The one person that Bard was supposed to trust with his life was the one person who ruined many others. Bard had a sneaking suspicion since the attempted kidnapping in Dale that it had to be an inside job. Someone had to had let the Dunlendings in and he had inspected his advisors things without them knowing which is how he found out who was behind the attacks and that person and the rest helping him had been dispatched.
âHe deserved a harsher punishment for the pain he has caused my family,â you mumble as you learn of the fate of the men who killed your siblings.
âAye. Death was too swift,â Dwalin agrees. âThank you though King Bard for working tirelessly on finding the people who hurt my family. We are truly indebted to you,â you say and Bard nods. âIt was the least I could do,â he replies and you turn to your father.
âWhat shall we do now?â
âWe will return home and finally lay Aerin and Caranuilto rest when that is done, and if it is alright with King Thorin, I would to like to return here stay for a bit longer. Watching Althea with everyone makes my heart happy and I need more of that before returning to my duties,â Thranduil states and Thorin nods. With that Thranduil leaves and you move to follow him. You had not checked on him as often as he checked up on you and you could tell, with everything coming to an end, that he was not doing well.
âAda?â You call out and he turns to you with tears clouding his eyes and you immediately pull him into your arms. Your family had lost so much and you curse the Valar for bringing such pain upon your family.
âIt has pained me so to lose not only my wife but my son as well. I do not wish to lose anyone else,â he replies, resting his chin on your head after a few minutes.
âAda. I had promised Althea and Fili that we, Elumenel and I, would move here after this was all over. Do you want us to move back home?â You ask him quietly, turning your head so you could listen to his heartbeat. âNo but I do wish to spend more time with you all by leaving the throne for a bit. I will return but for now I need time with my family and the Lady Galadriel has agreed to watch over my lands while I am away,â he explains and you pull him closer to you, trying so hard to let you Ada know that you loved him with every fiber of your being.
âI love you Ada and I am sorry for all the grief that you have experienced,â you tell him and a few seconds later, you feel multiple sets of arms wrap around you and you know itâs your brothers. You could tell he was crying yet again as he turns his cheek to rest on your head and you feel a shorter pair of arms join you and you all mourn for the family members that youâve lost almost a year ago, the pain still there as if it was just yesterday.

PART 1: Chapter 3 -
Though there be fury on the waves,
Throughout time, it was believed that bridges were gateways to other realms and dimensions, and this is what some people believed supernatural creatures such as ghosts used to cross into the world of the living.
I couldnât breathe.
And I was panicking.
My mouth gaped open and shut, trying to take a breath in, but air was replaced with liquid.
Liquid.
I canât swim.
It flowed into my lungs, and I felt myself choke as I forced my eyes open.
Nothing but pitch black was before me. My eyes attempted to adjust to the darkness, looking for a shape, outline, anything that would give me some sort of indicator as to where I was, but to no avail. I flailed my arms about, but they were slowed to a sluggish pace, as if I was underwater.
But I didnât fall over the edge of the bridge? I definitely wouldâve remembered the fall, and the painful impact of hitting the water surface from the height I was at. I continued looking around, wondering if I had been dragged into an underwater cavern, but the chances of one appearing near a waterfall was highly unlikely, especially one that was so far down that light couldnât reach at all.
I kicked my legs this time, only to be met with the same results. Nothing.
But what was really freaking me out, was the fact that I wasnât drowning. No searing pain in my chest, no impending sense of doom. Well, maybe the last one a little bit.
I floated there for what felt like hours, reaching out every now and then to see if I could feel something, but, like before, there was nothing. I swayed about at one point, racking my brain to try and recall the techniques Kate had hastily tried to teach me so I didnât die in the sea in France.
Kicking about, I eventually felt relief wash over me as I managed to find a rhythm, and pushed forwards into the void. A lifetime passed, but then something touched my hand.
Jerking back, I choked on water again as my panic came rushing back. I waited to see if it followed, but when nothing happened, I reached out again. I flinched as my hand brushed against something, but as I reached further, my hand went straight through it. A force pressed on my hand, forcing my fingers apart and I had to stiffen my wrist so it wouldnât bend backwards.
A current.
At least I thought it was one. Pushing until my arm was almost fully submerged, I tried to feel for the other side, but to no avail. I went to pull my limb out, only to be jerked forwards into the fast flowing water.
I spiralled around aimlessly, the force of the current having its way chucking me about as I tried to push my arms out to steady myself as I was dragged away, trying to fight the dizziness that swept over me.
In a final attempt, I threw my arm out, only to be met with air. Feeling the wind brush over my soaked skin, I desperately kicked until my head emerged. I gasped, gulping in the fresh air before coughing and vomiting up the water in my lungs.
I went to pry myself from the pitch black water-prison, when the world spun. Like it was literally spinning, until I felt my hair fall away from my face, and I figured I was upside down.
A beat passed, then gravity gave way. I let out a scream as I left the body of water, and was able to hear myself this time, the shrill sound echoing all around me as I descended further through the empty void.
The strangest feeling passed over me. The I heard another echo. A scream, but it wasnât mine. Tears escaped my eyes as the wind ripped past me as I fell further and further into nothing, but I was still accompanied by the other scream.
My speed only increased the more I fell, the roaring air rushing around me as I cried out in fear, praying that this wasnât purgatory. But to my luck and surprise, everything began to change.
The air became considerably lighter, and colder, until a light began to fill my vision. My eyes soon adjusted, and I was able to make out dark, rolling, grey clouds below me, flashing with lightning. The sound of thunder wasnât very promising, though, and my relief didnât stick around for long, packing up its bags and sprinting out the door the second I realised where I was.
Ignoring the fact that I had recently vomited and had stomach acid burning my throat, I began a screaming match between me and the rapidly approaching ground, having now passed the thunderstorm blanket.
Through the remaining daylight, I looked to see where I was to land, and made out a small body of water below.
âOh, for fuckâs sakeâ I thought. âJust what I needed.â Before I hit the surface. Hard.

Returning Home Chapter 21- Thorin Oakenshield x OC
Thorin Oakenshield x Bellarose Baggins
Description: After the Battle of Five Armies Bellarose must wait for Thorin t wake up in order to decide her fate.
Word Count: 2.3k
A/N: Guys!!!! I cannot believe I am only one chapter away from completing my second series!! Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Things were a blur for Bellarose after that. She only vaguely remembered one of the Eagles landing beside them, Gandalf atop it. He helped both her and Bilbo onto it and, once the bird took flight, it grabbed Thorin in its claws and flew back down towards Erebor like it had on the cliffside before. Once they arrived Thorin, Fili and Kili (who were on the back of a second Eagle) were rushed to the Fairy healers that had offered their aid after the battle.
It took all the girl not to break down when they informed her that Thorin would live. It was a miracle that heâd survived with his extensive injuries, but Fairy healing magic was powerful. Even with the tiniest amount of life left in someone, they would be able to live another day. But, he was still in a coma so his body could heal properly. That was all the healers were able to do, but it was more than enough for the rest of the Company.Â
During that time Balin, as the Kingâs official advisor, met with Thranduil and Bard to propose a treaty amongst them, and an agreement was eventually made. In exchange for a portion of treasure from Erebor, the Elves and Men would aid the Dwarves in the cleanup of the battlefield. Bard only wanted enough to help his people get back on their feet and Thranduil only wanted one thing from the massive amount of treasure: the White Gems of Lasgalen, a necklace that he had commissioned the Dwarves to make for his wife a long time ago. As long as these terms were met, there would be peace between Erebor, Mirkwood and Dale (and the Iron Hills).Â
Bellarose was ecstatic that peace was made amongst the three. All three parties had had more than enough heartbreak and turmoil as it was. Of course, she didnât have to worry about any of that. Her job for the time being was to help the Dwarves send out word to the Blue Mountains to let everyone know that Erebor had been retaken. In between that she was supposed to check up on Thorin when Oin couldnât. Though to be fair, she wouldâve done that either way just because she was worried for him. While she waited for his (hopefully) eventual awakening, Bellarose found herself often lost in thought. It was mostly about Thorin, Erebor, and the Shire.Â
With the quest complete her services were no longer needed. That meant that she would have to return to the Shire, where she would once again be looked upon as unusual. Hobbits were peace loving creatures, how would someone whoâs seen what Bellarose had seen, whoâs experienced what Bellarose had experienced, just return without a word of her epic tale? Things would be so very different for her now, and she wasnât completely sure that she or her fellow Hobbits were ready to deal with it. Now that sheâd gotten a taste of the world outside of Hobbiton, she couldnât get enough of it. She knew that she wasnât made to just sit in Bag End for the rest of my day reminiscing of the only adventure sheâd ever gone on. The very thought made her sick. She wanted to stay in Erebor with the Company and Thorin.
Thorin. Thorin was a whole different subject in general. She loved Thorin, and she now knew Thorin loved her too. How could she possibly expect to leave after that? But, at the same time, what was to happen if she did stay in Erebor with him. After all, she wasnât a Dwarf. And who knows how the Dwarves would feel if their beloved King courted a different race. That was, if Thorin still felt that way when he woke up. For all Bellarose knew, he could have said it in the spur of the moment. And Bellarose believed that was worse than anything else.Â
The day Thorin woke up was the happiest day of Bellaroseâs life. It had been nearing a month since it had been confirmed that he would live. Bellarose was in Filiâs room hanging out with both him and Kili when a knock suddenly came from the door.
âCome in,â Fili called. The trio watched as the door opened and in walked Balin, looking like heâd just run here. The trio was understandably confused by the sight, but Fili was the first one to speak.
âBalin? What is it?â The Dwarf looked at the two of them, though his eyes were specifically trained on Bellarose.
âThorinâs awake.â Those two words were enough to put Bellarose into a frenzy. She stood up immediately, then remembered she was in the middle of a conversation. She looked to Fili and Kili, but the blonde Dwarf spoke before she could say anything.
âGo to him, Bella,â the blonde said with a knowing grin. âI think youâve waited long enough.âÂ
Bellarose barely had time to offer him a grateful smile before she was out the door. She practically sprinted to the Kingâs bedroom, ignoring the odd looks she received. Once she arrived at the door she stopped just short of running into it. After taking a minute to compose herself by smoothing out her hair and dress, she took a deep breath and lifted a hand to knock on the door.
âCome in,â a voice she recognized as Oinâs called from the other side. She carefully grabbed the brass handle of the door and pushed the heavy door open.
As she suspected, she was met with Oin sitting at Thorinâs bedside. Much to her delight, she noticed that he was half sitting up/ half laying down. He looked much better than the last time she saw him. Just about all of the color had returned to his cheeks and his eyes were that same brilliant blue that she remembered. Both pairs of eyes landed on her after hearing the door open, and a smile appeared on Oinâs face.
âAh, Miss Bellarose,â he greeted, standing up and making his way over to her. âI see your cheek has healed nicely.â He gestured to her cheek. Like the older Dwarf noted, the injury had almost fully faded aside from a faint scar that likely wouldnât go away according to him. She smiled at him as she nodded.
âIt has. That salve you gave me worked wonders,â she responded somewhat distractedly as her gaze automatically moved to Thorin once again. Oin seemed to understand that they needed some time alone, so he quietly excused himself and walked out, quietly closing the door behind him. Once it was just the two of them, Bellarose lifted the bottom of her dress and moved to sit in the chair Oin originally sat in.
âHello Thorin,â she greeted gently.
âYouâre here,â he muttered weakly. The surprise in his tone made the girl laugh softly as she grabbed his hand and leaned closer to him.
âOf course I am,â she responded in a soft voice.
âAfter everything Iâve done - everything I said to youâŠâ he trailed off. Bellarose understood what he was saying, and a reassuring smile appeared on her face.
âI hold no ill will against what you said while you were under the influence of the Dragon Sickness. Balin told me what may happen when we reached the treasure, and so I knew not to take anything you said to heart,â she explained. âYou cannot blame yourself for how you acted when you werenât in your right mind. Do not think for a second that I would not stay beside you no matter what you say or do. And whether you like it or not, I am sticking to my word because I love you.â Her words looked like they comforted him based on the smile he offered her once she finished speaking.
âI love you too. And I am a fool for letting it go unsaid for so long.â Bellarose could have cried hearing that. So it wasnât just a spur of the moment thing. He really did love her.Â
The duo shared a fond smile after his response, then Bellarose carefully leaned closer to him and pressed a kiss to his lips, which he gladly reciprocated. It was everything the Hobbit could have wished for and more. Thorinâs kisses were much like his hugs in the sense that they were almost comforting to Bellarose. She couldnât get enough of it, and she didnât want to pull away. They did, however, need to breathe, so they were forced to pull away. Once they did so, their foreheads came to rest against each otherâs and they basked in each otherâs presence for who knows how long. Because they deserved that much.
âStay with me,â Thorin whispered. Both their eyes opened at his request, and his eyes bore into hers with desperation and love mixed in.Â
âI have spent most of my life alone,â he continued softly. âAnd I do not think I would be able to bear it if I canât be with you. You are the one I wish to spend the rest of my days with.â
âBut, your kingdom,â Bellarose trailed off quietly. âWhat would they think of their King courting a lowly Hobbit?âÂ
âI care not what complete strangers may think, for it will not change my love for you,â he responded without hesitation. âBesides, I do not think they will care when they see what kind of person you are.â A smile slowly formed on her face as she nodded.Â
âVery well, I will stay with you.â Her answer brought a smile to his face and he carefully lifted a hand to press to her cheek with the softest touch sheâd ever felt from him.Â
âYou do not understand how much joy you have brought me,â he whispered.Â
âI think I have an idea,â she responded before pressing her lips to his again. Once they pulled away for the second time she looked down.Â
âNow thereâs just the only problem of telling my brother I wonât be returning to the Shire with him,â she muttered.Â
âYou wonât need to,â Bilbo suddenly said from behind her, making both their heads snap over to him. He was leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed and a small, knowing smile on his face.Â
âBilbo,â Bellarose gasped, quickly standing up. The older Baggins was quick to wave a dismissive hand at her.Â
âDonât worry, I heard the whole thing. And I understand. You love him, and he loves you, so it only makes sense.âÂ
âYou donât mind?â She asked hopefully, making the boy shake his head.Â
âNot at all. I only want your happiness,â he responded. âAnd if staying here makes you happy, then who am I to object?âÂ
Joy coursed through Bellarose at her brotherâs words. Not only did he accept her staying in Erebor, but he encouraged her to do so. She turned a bit to share a smile with Thorin, who had since swung his legs off the bed and was preparing to stand. She was quick to take his arm and help him stand up before they faced the older Baggins as he spoke.
âBesides,â Bilbo continued, opening the door wider to reveal the rest of the Company (including Gandalf) standing there with smiles on their faces. âWe all took wagers on it.âÂ
âI never doubted it for a second,â Gandalf spoke up.Â
âMe neither,â Fili added.Â
âI was fifty/fifty,â Kili joked, making everyone laugh as the Company filed into the room to greet the King.Â
âThere is to be a great feast tonight,â Bellarose mentioned as she walked Gandalf and Bilbo out of the gates of Erebor. Bilbo had decided it was high time for him to return home, and Gandalf had decided to be the one to take him. He had wished for a quiet slip out of the kingdom, but of course his sister suspected that and wished to see them off.Â
âSongs will be sung, tales will be told, and the Company of Thorin Oakenshield and their quest to take back their kingdom will be passed into legend,â she continued.Â
âAnd I cannot wait for the legend to eventually come to the Shire,â Bilbo responded with a small smile at his sister as they stopped. âWell, I think Iâll slip quietly away. Will you tell the others I said goodbye?â
âYou can tell them yourself,â Thorin spoke from behind them. The trio looked back and smiled as they saw the Dwarves standing behind them, all with bittersweet smiles on their faces for their friendâs departure.Â
âIf any of you are ever passing Bag End, tea is at four,â Bilbo informed them. âThereâs plenty of it. You are welcome anytime, donât bother knocking.â The Dwarves chuckled, some of them wiping away tears as Thorin walked up to him.Â
âKnow that you are welcome here anytime, Master Baggins,â he said, resting a hand on the Hobbitâs shoulder. âYou will be a guest of honor. I cannot think of the many ways to thank you for all you did.âÂ
âWell, I believe the treasure youâve given me is more than enough,â Bilbo responded, holding up the chest of treasure heâd taken for himself, which made both Thorin and Bellarose laugh.Â
âGoodbye, Bilbo,â Bellarose muttered, pulling her brother into a hug that he gladly returned.Â
âGoodbye Bella,â he answered, kissing her cheek before pulling away. âI hope you are happy here.â The girl smiled as she felt Thorinâs arm wrap around her.Â
âI think I will be,â she muttered, and they all knew she meant it. Thorin pressed a kiss to the side of her head then everyone waved to Bilbo and Gandalf as they mounted their horse and pony (respectively), riding off to the Shire.

Insatiable
Pairing: Modern AU Fili x female OC Prim
Words: 1,629
Warnings: RATED E. Explicit. Swearing. M/F intercourse. Unprotected sex. Anal play.
Summary: Fili and Prim just canât get enough of each other and indulge in a lunchtime quickie.
A/N: Iâm sorry. I couldnât resist.
ââââ-
âI came home for lunch..â
Her voice was soft and full of insinuation, even from the other end of the phone. He knew exactly what Prim was suggesting, and she was impossible to deny.
Fili bit his cheek as his cock instantly started to harden and sighed, knowing he wouldnât be able to sit at his desk trying to focus on work while she was at home wanting to be fucked.
âIâll be right there.â
He hung up and grabbed his keys, practically sprinting to his truck.
Turning the corner in a hurry, he nearly knocked over Kili who was entering the building, carrying food for the both of them.
âChrist, Fili, where are you headed? Iâve got our lunch-â
âIâll be back, I just have to run home for something!â he called over his shoulder as he reached his truck. âDonât eat my food!â
The apartment was only a five minute drive away making Fili thankful he didnât have to wait long to get to her.
Prim stood in the kitchen, trying to keep herself busy while she waited for Fili to get home. She hadnât been able to get her mind off of him all morning, and although they had been awake nearly all night engaging in certain activities, she needed him again.
He flung the door open and closed the space between them, attaching his lips to hers, stealing her breath as he attempted to catch his own. His chest heaved from rushing over, and the excitement of having himself buried in Prim again added to his inability to take a full breath.
He wasted no time in pulling her pants down while she worked to open the buttons on his uniform. Their lips collided in harsh pecks between trying to free the other from the confines of their clothing. Prim stepped out of her pants and began working to free him from his own, but was interrupted when he pulled her arms up to remove her top.
Fili marked her skin with his teeth and lips desperately, making Prim grin with amusement at how much he wanted her too.
She pulled his already oozing cock out of his boxers and stroked the head, smiling despite Fili biting her lip in response to her touch.
He didnât even allow time for his pants and underwear to move lower than his ass, needing to be in her immediately.
A gasp left Prim as he lifted her legs up around his waist and pushed her up against the wall, pulling her damp panties roughly to the side.
âMmm you are horny,â he teased, his throbbing member grazing against her soaked folds.
âPlease, Fili,â she begged him, feeling her arousal drip out of her and onto his cock.
Fili raised his eyebrows in amusement before plunging into her hard with a grunt. She clawed at his exposed chest and buried her face in his neck as he started to relentlessly fuck her against the wall.
Cries escaped her lips as Fili played with her clit with his thumb, circling her wetness over it to help her reach her peak.
âCome for me, baby,â he growled in encouragement.
Her orgasm wasnât far off, feeling the warm tingle creeping up through her body, her legs beginning to feel limp as he continued to thrust deeper into her.
Primâs entire body trembled as she came, her mouth open and leaving a smear of spit on his neck as she screamed through her high. She rested her head back against the wall and opened her eyes to see Filiâs blue ones staring her down, dark with lust.
He slipped out of her and guided her legs softly to the ground, âTurn around,â he ordered, his voice husky and rough.
Prim did as she was told and faced the wall, her body and mind hazy from her first orgasm, but ready for more. She braced her arms on the wall and felt Fili spread her cheeks apart, his fingers moving to bring her slick up from her folds to smear around her puckered hole.
He squatted slightly to gain access to her and pushed inside once again. His growls and her whimpers filled the air, mixing with the sound of his hips slapping against her ass.
âFuck, Fili!â she cried as he brought his left hand around her body to toy with her swollen bud, the other resting on her cheek to help spread her open. His finger carefully rimmed around her tight ring before she was able to relax enough to allow it to slowly fall inside.
The sensation of his cock driving hard into her g-spot, his thumb dancing on her clit and now the addition of a finger in her other hole sent her into a frenzy. Her head was spinning from the pleasure, nearing her end for a second time.
âFi, Iâm gonna come again-â she gasped, unable to say anything more as he increased his pace, getting close to his own release.
She would never be able to understand how he was able to simultaneously keep a pounding rhythm on her clit with his cock inside her, all while gently probing his finger slowly in and out of her ass, but she admired his skill.
âYou good, baby?â he asked through gritted teeth, thrusting against her even harder now.
Prim nodded her head, âI need you to come in me,â she pleaded with a moan.
Within moments Prim reached her second climax, her walls strangling Filiâs cock and trapping his finger inside her, pushing him over the edge with her.
She wailed with pleasure as Fili proceeded to pound her, riding out his own high, and felt his spendings coat her insides in forceful spurts.
A whimper escaped her when he removed his fingers from both areas he had been attending to, missing the fullness he provided despite his cock still being buried in her.
His mouth trailed across her neck and shoulders, tickling her sweaty skin with panting breaths.
Eventually, he pulled out of her and turned her around to face him, pushing his tongue past her lips to consume her mouth once more. Prim felt as though she could puddle to the floor, completely relaxed from intense pleasure and elated with love.
âWe should come home for lunch more often,â Fili said with a mischievous grin that made his dimples tease her into wanting him again.
âMhm, I think so,â she agreed.
He reluctantly stepped away from her and tucked himself back in his pants, his cock coated and sticky and still dripping from the tip.
Fili walked over to the sink and washed his hands. Grabbing a glass, he filled it with water and chugged it, clearly parched from his efforts.
His shirt was still open and Prim admired the view from where she was left leaning against the wall, her panties stretched out to the side and covered in their combined spendings. She could feel his eyes on her as she stepped out of her soiled panties and tugged her t-shirt back over her head, now standing naked from the waist down.
âYouâre going to get fucked again looking like that,â he said in a low tone, rubbing his hand over his mouth to wipe away water that didnât make it past his lips.
She couldnât help but laugh, purposefully bending over to give him a view as she reached for her pants.
Before she knew it he was on her, wrapping his arms around her torso from behind, one hand squeezing her breast through the cotton material as he sucked on the most sensitive area on her neck.
âFili!â she squealed through giggles, trying to escape his grip.
âI just canât get enough of you,â he smiled against her hair.
Prim eventually was able to spin herself around to face him, retaliating by grinding herself against the hardening bulge in his pants. Fili threw his head back and clenched his teeth, struggling to resist a second round.
âI really need to get back to work,â he sighed and cupped her face, âbut we will be resuming this when I get home later,â he vowed with a renewed look of desire on his face.
âGood,â Prim replied and kissed him hard, tangling her tongue with his once more and squeezing his plump ass in her hand.
âFuck sakes,â he breathed out after being momentarily released from her lips, âyou know exactly how to tempt me, donât you?â The kiss changed to be soft, and she parted from him despite not wanting to.
âAlways, Fi,â she said against his lips.
Fili brushed his mouth on hers again, indulging and sensual.
âIâm going to take my time with you tonight,â he promised. âI want to savour every bit of you. Memorize every sound I pull out of you,â he whispered to her. Moving away just enough to look into her eyes, he continued, âI will show you just how much I love you, Prim.â
It took every fibre in his being to leave the apartment and get in his truck to drive back to work.
When Fili returned to base, Kili was seated in his office eating, a mess of food scattered across his desk.
âI tried waiting for you, but you took too long,â his brother confessed.
âItâs fine,â Fili assured him, grabbing a sandwich and pretty much inhaling it.
âWorked up an appetite?â Kili implied, his eyebrows shooting up in question.
All he could do was grunt in response, starving from his activities and still in the relaxed, post-coital bliss.
âYou two are unbelievable,â Kili chided.
Fili gave him a weak grin as he leaned further back in his chair, unable to say anything, just simply nodding in agreement rather than arguing with his brother.
