Couldn't help poking fun at this choice in dialogue in the game. You would think the dog metaphors (ha) would be off the table considering Basilio is a member of the Paripus Tribe.... 😭

Oh. Oh yeah. Metaphor absolutely seems to have a preference with who Will’s “love interest” is. Like at first it struck me as odd for an Atlus game like Metaphor to be so chaste so far, but then we have Will stumbling upon Eupha bathing. Then as you go through her support finding out handshaking with her people is an intimate act.

Now look, I’m not gonna say Will x Eupha is “the canon ship,” but like in a game with no optional romance and Eupha’s interaction with feeling more weighted towards romantic affection than really any of his other female companions… Yeah, I feel like there might be a preference.

I wish in the dragon temple storyline the story didn't lead with skepticism and judgement about a marginalized and insular people's religion. They can change nothing but stow the judgemental attitude and be more respectful with the depiction of the mustari, and it would feel less like, "oh look at these savages who misunderstood their own fucking beliefs". The whole arc makes me uncomfortable in a lot of ways and here's where I start to see the complaints levied against Atlus and their hatred of religion. The PARTY can be skeptical and should probably have dived opinions, that would be interesting, and they can be right, the priestess is to risk her life in battle, not give it on the altar, but it feels wierd when they went into things LOOKING to prove them wrong about their own religion as outsiders. Very white savior. Or ig Japanese savior. I like Eupha and I'm happy she doesn't need to die but this whole fucking arc. Christ.

Basilio and Eupha low-key starving for their former sibling dynamics and just...bickering. not arguing. Not fighting but just kinda...bickering. I feel like Eupha's wonder would be good for Basilio and Eupha NEEDS situational awareness like water.
