Report Assignment vs Essay Assignment: What’s the Difference?
Tumblr media
Introduction Report assignments and essay assignments are both common types of assessments that you may encounter while studying. Although they have some similarities, there are key differences between them. It is important to know these key differences because doing one instead of the other will affect your grade. The easiest way to find out the required one is from the assignment brief or question. It will either mention an essay or a report. Some of the key differences are the structure, purpose and presentation. This article will show you the general differences so that you don’t mistakenly do one instead of the other when asked. For specific requirements, the assignment brief or lecturer is your best bet. Check out level-specific assignment requirements here. The Purpose of a Report A report assignment provides information about a specific topic or issue. This is normally broken down into the key elements that apply to the assignment question. Sometimes, because of the report assignment question, only specific parts of the topic are required. The goal of an assignment report is to inform an audience. Even though the marker knows about the topic, the report should be written as though he doesn’t. The Purpose of an Essay Because the purpose of an essay assignment varies, ensure that you are clear about it from the brief or lecturer. In general, an essay expresses a viewpoint or an argument. Some essays would require you to explore a topic in-depth and interpret information. However, an essay assignment in business and management studies can be quite different from that of other areas such as journalism and psychology. More details below. Language Differences Within business and management studies, the language of both can be similar. This is because the same academic writing style is required for both. This is not the same in all areas of study. Your lecturer or instructor will inform you when you ask. In general, reports are typically written in a more formal and objective style, with a focus on presenting factual information. Essays can allow some subjectivity such as personal opinions or perspectives. However, this depends on a number of factors which include the field of study, the assignment question, the location of study and the level. Some essays within business and management studies do not allow subjectivity. They are written in an objective academic style. Essay Assignment Structure An essay assignment typically has a basic structure that includes an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The specific format of an essay assignment may vary depending on the lecturer’s guidelines or the requirements of the assignment. The following is a general structure of a typical essay assignment: Essay Introduction: The introduction is the first paragraph of the essay. It should include an attention-grabbing opening statement, background information about the topic, and a statement that outlines the main argument or point of the essay. Body Paragraphs: The body paragraphs make up the main section of the essay. They should provide supporting evidence to back up the main statement. Each body paragraph should have a clear topic sentence, supporting evidence or examples, and a concluding sentence that links back to the thesis statement. Use the PEA (point, evidence, analysis) technique to efficiently structure your paragraphs.
Tumblr media
Essay Conclusion: The conclusion is the final paragraph of the essay. It should summarise the main points of the essay and restate the main statement in a new way. Also, it should provide a closing statement that leaves a lasting impression on the reader. report Assignment Structure Specifically, the assignment requirements and lecturer’s guidelines will tell you the expected structure. Reports are structured with headings and subheadings to organize information in a clear and logical way. Generally, a report assignment structure will include the following sections: Title Page: The title page should include the title of the report, the name of the author or authors, the date, and any other relevant information such as the name of the department or institution. Table of Contents: The table of contents lists the major sections, subsections, and the corresponding page numbers of the report. Executive Summary: The executive summary is a brief overview of the main findings and conclusions of the report. It should be concise and provide an overview of the entire report. Abstract: In some reports, especially research articles and dissertations, an abstract is included. It concisely summarises the entire work. This includes the purpose of the research, the methods used, the findings and the conclusions.
Tumblr media
Introduction: The introduction provides background information on the topic of the report. This includes any relevant history or context. It should also include the purpose of the report and the scope of the research. Methodology: The methodology section explains the methods used to gather data and conduct research. This section may include details on the sample size, data collection tools and techniques, and data analysis methods. Some reports do not require a methodology section due to the report requirements. In others, this is embedded within the discussion section. Results: The results section presents the findings of the research in a clear and organised way. This section may include tables, graphs, and other visual aids to help illustrate the data. In some reports, the results and visual aids are embedded in the discussion. Discussion: The discussion section provides an analysis and interpretation of the results. This section should explain the significance of the findings and relate them back to the purpose of the report. Conclusion: Here, the main findings and conclusions of the report are summarised. It should also include any recommendations for future action or research. References: The references section lists all sources cited in the report, including books, articles, and other materials. Bibliography: Where other sources have been read but not cited in the report, a bibliography is ideal. This is because it includes the sources that are not cited to the ones cited. Appendices: The appendices section includes any additional information that supports the report, such as raw data, surveys, or detailed calculations. Conclusion Using the right structure suitable for the assignment question shows a good understanding of what’s required. It also contributes to the grade because of the professional presentation requirement in business and management assignments. However, using the wrong structure shows a lack of understanding which may affect the grade. Ultimately, carefully review the assignment instructions and follow any specific guidelines provided by the lecturer. This is because the requirements for reports and essays are sometimes different from the norm. This is how you think like a Lecturer when doing your assignments. A Comprehensive Guide for a Failproof Essay Structure
You can write the perfect essay only when you know how to blend your creative writing skills in the correct essay structure. Unless you know how to format an essay, you will not be able to express all the ideas using coherent sentences within the limited word count.
Tumblr media
So, how do you put together a piece that has the perfect essay structure
? To help you out, here is a detailed guide on how to keep the structure right.
Introduction
Write a maximum of 5 sentences, each containing 13-18 words approximately. Start with your thesis statement to explain the central idea of the topic. The statement must educate the reader about what you will be discussing in the piece. Suppose it is an argumentative essay. In that case, you can outline the arguments that you will be discussing, specifically or with an air of mystery.
Body Paragraph 1
The first body paragraph should be of 6 to ten sentences. Keep the sentences shorter and do not exceed the maximum of 20 words. The paragraph should start with a transition that connects the introduction with this section. It should also introduce your first argument or idea. Next, provide relevant data to prove your claims.
Body Paragraph 2
Keep the same word count as you did in the first body paragraph. Again, start with a transition sentence to maintain a logical flow as you enter into your next narrative point. Also, provide at least one example to back up the claims that you have stated in not more than five sentences.
Body Paragraph 3
Since you are nearing the end of the piece, try to wrap up the last body paragraph within four to five sentences at max. Mention the least convincing idea or argument in the 3rd paragraph, only if it justifies the topic of the essay. You can also choose to omit this paragraph. In that case, go through essay structure help to understand how to compensate the word count gap.
Conclusion
Reiterate your thesis in the conclusion using different words and warp it up within two sentences. You may mention new examples only if they support your claims. However, it will be best if you steer clear from introducing new points. To urge the reader to think about what you have written, you can end with rhetoric.
Essay writing is no less than art when you have to put all your ideas articulately within the given word limit. Bookmark this post and follow the above template for the perfect essay structure.

Condensed Research Notes For My Designer Essay
Things I Have Learned So Far In My Life Booklets
Trying to look good limits my life.
Mentions about how the likes of Steve Jobs has no problem shutting down a project that doesn’t fit in with the company’s end strategy regardless of how hard people have worked on it or how much time has been spent on perfecting it. However he mentions how he does not want to treat people shabbily - humble.
Trying to look good limits my life - rented a huge format camera and flew down to Arizona with Matthias Ernstberger and with no sketches or preconcieved ideas set out to create 5 billboards to display the 7 words ’Trying to look good limits my life’. Their approach was to use nothing more than the landscape and the elements of nature to bring about a typographic form. Notes how working with this was more fun not done on digital form however proved to be stressful especially with no initial sketches or prototyping.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
In this booklet Stefan sagmeister talks about how he was offered a job designing dividing pages for various parts of a magazine. He was given the freedom to do absolutely whatever he wanted (accompanied by a generous deadline) which brought him to the quote “Unlimited freedom can be a curse”. In the end, after weeks of unsuccessful brainstorming, he resorted to his diary, selecting one sentence; “Everything I do always comes back to me”. With this, he sketched out as many possibilities for how this sentence could be spread across the magazine as he could think of. These were then transformed into three-dimensional collages by Sagmeister and Reini’s intern and photographed to be used as intended across Zillner’s new magazine. This shows how not everything has to be a fantastic idea, but rather how we as designers use the material we have to work with; which in a lot of cases can be very minimal.
Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
As well as being a noteable life quote, I think that Sagmeister uses a gentle, wilful manipulation of light and shade to demonstrate his point. I am unsure as to whether his intention was for the design to have this much sentiment, but whilst I was reading about the ordeal I couldn’t help but feel that this piece of design on the billboard was a live metaphor in itself. Onlookers in Lisbon who were able to read the sign and had the chance to see the text slowly disappearing over the period of a couple of days, could have interpreted the text on the sign as being peoples thoughts and if they were not acted upon (as quoted) they would gradually disappear into the shade; perhaps symbolising the past or old thoughts leaving the targeted audience’s consciences - despite the commissioners ‘Super Bock’ most likely being aggrieved. In addition to this as shown from the surrounding pictures, we can see how systematically Sagmeister’s billboard was laid out and how all the stencil outlines line up perfectly.
Being not truthful works against me.
“The fragile construction serves as a metaphor for the vulnerability of the maxim and the effort to perpetuate it. In a sense it is physically questioned by everyone who passes by and thus damages it. For the viewer, the first active confrontation might incite an engagement with the content of the statement.”
Thingsihavelearnedinmylife.com - video of the software on the computer showing the camera tracking the movement of the viewer and this video is integrated into the simulated physics of the spiderweb l Collaboration work with Ralph Ammer, showing a nice addition of digital design in his work which we haven’t really seen much of.
Sagmeister makes type come alive – almost literally sometimes. He takes type and fashions solutions that are visually dynamic expressions, above and beyond the actual meaning of the words. He will on occasion use a human canvas – whether himself or others – with striking results.

Excellence Full Planning for Level 2 English Essays
First steps: Pick ONE question you understand best. Make sure you highlight/underline two parts of the question. Write down all the points/scenes shown in your studied text based on the question you chose. For example, let's suppose you chose this question: "Analyse how language features are used to make you feel joyful and/or sorrow". The first key word is Language Features. The second part of the question is Joyful/sorrowful feeling.
So then you write out all the language features used in your text - make sure you know why they are used. Pick between 2-4 of them as your essay focus (I'd recommend picking most significant ones). If you pick 3, then you will have to go with 3 body paragraphs.
Next steps: So once you have picked the language features you want to focus on in your essay, list them down. For each of them, make sure you have them when you write your body paragraphs. Use it as a checklist. S - opening statement E - explanations E - examples P - authors/directors purpose E - effects on readers/viewers E - evaluation (is the author/director successful)
It would be good to weave throughout ur paragraph (it means provide multiple relevant evidences and explanations). When it comes down to purpose, make sure u don't just simply randomly describe it. U need to provide perceptive reasons why he/she used/shown this/that. Think outside the box too - in linkage to the world around you - how is this relevant to our world. For effects, what can readers/ viewers learn? How can this affect society (either positive/negative way)? And in your evaluation, say why/why not is author/director successful. Talking about the nature of author/director would be useful too!
Hope these helps!! :)

How To Write The Prompt Structure Of An Essay?
Tumblr media
Nowadays It looks like students feel difficulty writing the structure of an essay. Before you write an essay you should understand it. There are different types of essays in each either American or British, the styles are different but the structure is quite similar.
An essay in each style begins with the introduction, in between writing the body and at the last conclusion. But in the body, you can write many points and In the introduction and conclusion,
you should provide vital and authentic info so that the examiner or reader can easily understand the main spot through your writing structure. Keep in mind that an essay should be easy to pronounce and straight-forward
Introduction:
At the time of writing the structure of an essay, you should point right to the fact. You can hand out an introduction into three parts.
Hook and Eye
It would assist you with engaging perusers through your calm and appealing words. Here you present the presentation of an exposition. Be cautious that you wouldn't compose inquiries in the presentation section. I would enthusiastically suggest composing realities or solid explanations.
Background of the structure of an essay
After you engage the readers with your opening session, you have to give them some background information. In background information mention some details who, when, where, why and write a brief history of the topic.
Tract
When you give the base data. Currently, it is an ideal idea to give an exhibition idea, which is the most essential piece of your entire paper. It should be consistent in the last sentence of your presentation. This is the primary idea of your entire article. Perusal will understand the principle of the idea of your paper and effectively take away it.
Key Points to keep in your mind
Take the resolution to write in one go
Maintain Focus
Don’t In Hassle
Cross Checking
Take Ideas From Experts
Choose Easy To Understandable Words
Narrate Your Essay
 Body:
After writing the introduction of an essay, now you should define the explanation of an essay in Body. It’s the most Informative structure of an essay. Here you write the Details, Information, Description, Narration all depending on essay or content. In body you should write Opinions, Secondary Sources if your essay is longer or you want to build a strong structure of an essay then you would need to write Secondary sources otherwise not required.
Supports the Tract
In the body part, you have to start from the tract content, Here we discuss in details about the essay’s Information, Description, Narration. If you write a short essay then adjust the information accordingly. But if your essay is long enough then don’t be miser, write with the open heart.
Longer Essays
If your essay is longer or you want to write in-depth then use expert opinion about the content and mention references there also. Use quotation or extract the content and elaborate them well. This is the right way of the structure of an essay.
Conclusion:
After writing the body of an essay here we conclude an essay. We summarize the main points of the essay in conclusion. So the reader frequently understands the content of the essay. Here you should conclude the sentence
Summarize
It’s important to understand that the readers have a very short memory so you should summarise an essay in conclusion. Write the main points so that the readers can easily remember them. Remind them the main idea of an essay in conclusion. You should close an essay with the strongest statement. This is the authentic structure of an essay
Restate the thesis
You should also end the essay interestingly so, in conclusion, restate an essay genuinely and informative. Make Sure it should not be lengthy and cover all the ideas. The reader’s attention to the essay should be maintained. Here all ideas are the same but through the formulation of words you should give them a new form,  then it’ll seem interesting.
Final Comment
In the final comment, you should give to the readers a higher perspective. Give them an opinion or a lesson which they carry after reading the conclusion. It is the main object of the essays to give the exact learning. Your idea would be impactful. This is the unique structure of an essay.
Determination
Now we sum up everything which we have discussed above the paragraphs. In the first paragraph introduction share the main topic sentence of an essay. Write evidence and explanation in the body paragraph and at last concluding sentence in conclusion and give a summary of the body and introduction,
At last, write the final comment so the readers can gather the idea through a conclusion. This is all about the structure of an essay. Still, you are inconvenienced to make an essay, not to worry we are here to support you through Professional writing help and your all worry will go away in a single step

Narrowing the topic
My essay looks overwhelmed at the moment, I have too many chapters and outside sources listed, I feel the need of narrowing down the topic. I also need to alter the structure, I decide to skip the questionnaire in the end. Instead I will be focusing on more examples when examining case studies to provide accurate result.
I started searching for literatures and studies, surveys that might be relevant, and not necessarily be directly on the same subject matter. My topic has not been researched in depth before therefore, this study makes a major contribution to research on the chosen subject matter.
I came to the decision to include Super Premium vodka brands in my case study (instead of alcohol beverages generally) including Belvedere, Grey Goose, Beluga, Absolut, Shevkoff which all come from different regions of the world. The reason for picking such a specific sector was based on the subject matter of my Final Major Project, that is a luxury vodka packaging related project.

Week 4-Character Research Lecture
Tumblr media
The first half of the lecture focused mainly on essaystructure tips, what not to do, and what is needed to meet the learning outcomes.
Tumblr media
We also discused mise en scene, and how looking at that can add a broader context to your essay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the latter half of the lecture, the focus was on what makes us scared and freaked out, and looking at the idea of ‘the uncanny’ and of the uncanny valley.
The concept behind the uncanny is that we are seeing things that we are not meant to be seeing or things that are meant to be gone/hidden. For instance seeing a childhood toy come to life as an adult would be disturbing, because it’s a part of your buried past confronting you.
The uncanny valley is when something is very close to resembling life but misses the mark in a way that puts us on edge and makes us feel confronted. Humanoid robots in their current stage of development sit firmly in that valley, with people often saying that what gets them is the combo of realistic features/expressions and a dead look behind the eye.
Questions to ask myself this week:
If your chosen character is ‘human’ do they risk (or carefully avoid) the Uncanny Valley?
If your character isn’t human, how are they ‘humanised’?
Why does this character need to be animated?
