Just finished listening to the first Fireside Chat and Erika has unlocked a part of my brain. I have always hated the classic D&D trope of them being in a random place and recruited by the mayor "to save them because they can't save themselves" but I could never pinpoint why. Like part of it felt like lazy storytelling but I didn't feel like that was the main reason why I didn't like it and there was something more serious about it. Erika describing their attempts of being heroes in Port Talon without being borderline colonizers unraveled the mystery. It is what I hated so much. The idea that your characters are just better than everyone else and are somehow more competent than the people who are familiar with their issues irks my soul. Seeing them tell a story so beautifully where their heroics felt genuine and not for a glorious reputation and power was so refreshing. I can't wait to be emotionally destroyed and fulfilled by the rest I have to catch up on.

Erika Ishii's wardrobe is incredible. Every time I see them on Dropout they're wearing some cyberpunk vampire bdsm bullshit like they're starring in a new Underworld movie. She dresses like someone who has a costume department making dope outfits for her. What's really amazing about Erika's outfits is that it's like he exists in a whole other world than almost everyone else. Nothing's made me more certain that Erika is the main character.
