I have moved
I got sick of juggling a side blog so I am moving HGS to my main blog, which you can now find at @horsegamesins. (this also means it will have more topics than just sso, but I will do my best to tag properly from now on)

I think you guys are misunderstanding the point of the Hollow Woods paths.
They aren't meant to be completable in two weeks. Or even three or four. They aren't meant to be a grind. They're supposed to be a long term gameplay loop that stays with you over the course of possibly the entire game. Each step of each skill tree is a gameplay loop in its own right, and you are meant to slowly and with time change that gameplay loop bit by bit. The change itself is not meant to be the gameplay loop.
For example:
The gameplay loop is not meant to be "quickly optimise the satchels and garden powders, then get all five satchels every day and be a light god". The gameplay loop is meant to be "unlock one of the ways to get garden powder, then collect them until you can get your satchel of the day", which then slowly develops until you might be able to get all of them.
The gameplay loop is not meant to be "get all the rune puzzle upgrades so you can have the Ultimate Puzzle", the gameplay loop is meant to be you spending a long time with each level of rune puzzle as its own thing and slowly building up to unlocking the next level.
It's not a grind. It's a thing you do in the background, over time.
