Final Pitching Experience
Our final pitching experience was a rollercoaster of emotions. We were scared and incredibly nervous because our bagasse product was challenging to make, and we hadn't had enough time to prepare. Some of our team members attended an international conference, leaving the rest of us scrambling to get everything ready. Despite our worries, we managed to pull it off, thanks to the support of each other and the guidance of our instructors throughout the entire process.

Lecture Series
The recently concluded Entrepreneurial Mind Lecture Series Program 2024 was enlightening. It covered essential points and laid the foundation for our understanding of the course. One key takeaway was the significance of the startup ecosystem and the startup method in driving innovation. The lectures also emphasized the importance of ethical considerations, such as adhering to legal principles, understanding data privacy acts, and ensuring the security of all involved parties in the innovation process. As we bid farewell to this course, we carry with us valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit us in our future entrepreneurial endeavors. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing and delivering these informative sessions.

4TH BLOG
Hello there! Welcome back to another blog update from FLAVORGUST. Today, I will share with you how our food truck journey began and the lessons we have learned along the way as we embarked on this venture.
Biggest Challenge: Choosing the Right Idea
Thinking back to the start of our entrepreneurial journey, the biggest challenge Flavorgust faced was choosing a business idea that would thrive in today's market. We knew we wanted to start something creative, exciting, and impactful, but choosing the right concept was tougher than we expected. We overcame this challenge by conducting thorough research and interviewing potential customers to understand how we could address their needs and preferences. The insights we gathered from them were invaluable and ultimately led us to the idea of a campus food truck that serves quick, affordable, and delicious meals.
Setbacks and Rejections: Bouncing Back Stronger
Our journey with FLAVORGUST has not been without setbacks, even from our first presentation of our business idea. Our initial concept was met with rejection, which was hard for us to swallow. However, instead of losing interest and giving up, we used this as a stepping stone to think of new, innovative ideas. This crucial rejection taught us persistence and resilience. The experience not only strengthened us but also pushed us to create solutions that better meet the needs of our potential customers.
Discovering Hidden Skills
As we navigated these challenges and setbacks, we discovered many skills and abilities within ourselves. We became more creative, constantly thinking of new ideas to keep our venture appealing. Our critical thinking skills were unleashed as we solved the problems we encountered, from choosing the right idea to managing our costs to serve affordable meals. Our communication skills also improved as we learned to convey our vision to both our customers and our team. These skills have been crucial in driving our business idea to success.
Lesson Learned: Embracing Failure
Looking back on our entire business journey, we have discovered valuable lessons about entrepreneurship and ourselves—from coming up with the perfect idea to conquering obstacles and honing abilities. The most important lesson is that failure is not the end; it is a pathway to a better venture. Every rejection pushes us to improve and innovate, ultimately making Flavorgust stronger. We have learned to embrace these experiences, knowing that they will make us more prepared and successful.
Our journey with Flavorgust has been a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences, but it's all worth it. We are excited to soon serve CMU campus attendees with flavors on the go.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being part of our journey!

Pitch Perfect: From Last-Minute Jitters to Laughter and Lightness
The semester had been a marathon. Countless hours hunched over textbooks, fueled by late-night coffee runs, blurred into a haze of Financial statements. Each milestone, from proposal drafts to data collection, felt like crossing a desert, the finish line perpetually on the horizon. As the last group to present our research, the culmination of this semester-long journey, a wave of nervous exhaustion washed over us.
Being last meant we had the unenviable task of following a string of impressive presentations. The air crackled with nervous anticipation – presentations practiced to perfection, slides polished meticulously, and answers meticulously rehearsed. Yet, the fear of fumbling under pressure, of squandering all that effort in the final stretch, felt like a physical weight in my gut.
The presentations of our PROJECT TUMPACK before ours were a whirlwind of insightful research and confident delivery. Each group seemed to have aced it, raising the bar and amplifying our anxieties. When our turn approached, my palms were slick and my voice threatened to crack. We were the weary travelers finally reaching the oasis, but the fear of a dry well lingered.
Taking a deep breath, we stepped forward, the harsh glare of the TV Screen. However, as the first slide flickered into view, the tension unexpectedly dissolved. Our Panel, known for sharp questions and discerning eyes, surprised us with a warm smile. As we began our presentation, a genuine curiosity seemed to emanate from the audience. The weight on our shoulders lifted.
We found ourselves weaving humor into our explanations, playfully riffing off each other's ideas, and responding to questions with a newfound confidence. The initial fear transformed into a comfortable camaraderie. We weren't just presenting anymore; we were sharing the culmination of our semester-long odyssey, a shared exploration of the research that had consumed our lives for months. The room echoed with laughter and smiles, a far cry from the tense silence we had envisioned.
A Bonus Round of Learning: Lecture Series
But the journey didn't end there. To our surprise, Sir Reymark invited me and Gwnyx to host a lecture within the department's lecture series, allowing us to delve deeper into our research for a wider audience. The initial excitement was quickly tempered by a fresh wave of nerves. However, this time, it was a different kind of nervousness – the thrill of sharing our knowledge and the responsibility of effectively engaging a larger audience.
The lecture series turned out to be an incredibly rewarding experience. We had the opportunity to interact with students from various disciplines, answer insightful questions, and even spark lively discussions. Witnessing the genuine interest in our Start Up was truly humbling and a testament to the power of knowledge-sharing.
More importantly, hosting the lecture solidified the value of our research journey. The countless hours spent researching, analyzing, and refining our presentation had culminated in this moment – a chance to not only share our findings but also ignite a spark of curiosity in others.
Standing before the lecture hall, a wave of pride washed over me. We had started as weary travelers, unsure of the path ahead. But through perseverance, collaboration, and a touch of humor, we had not only reached our destination but also discovered the joy of sharing our experiences and knowledge with others. It was a journey that began with sweaty palms and ended with a heart full of satisfaction and a newfound appreciation for the power of research and communication.

During interviews conducted with a different group of students, it became evident that many of them encounter significant challenges in affording groceries and essential items while balancing their studies and other responsibilities. Students expressed frustration with the rising cost of living and the limited options available to them for affordable groceries and household necessities. Many shared stories of having to make difficult choices between buying groceries and covering other expenses like rent or tuition fees. The hypothesis tested was the concept of offering student essential boxes, which would contain a selection of groceries and essentials items tailored to the specific needs and preferences of students. The idea was met with enthusiasm from the students, who saw it as a potential solution to their ongoing struggle to access affordable and convenient essentials. They believed that having essential items delivered directly to them would not only save them time and money but also alleviate the stress of having to make frequent trips to the store. Overall, the results of the interviews indicated strong support for the concept of student essential boxes, with students expressing gratitude for the potential convenience and affordability it could offer in their day-to-day lives.
Last week's lessons highlighted some common challenges we face, including difficulties in interviewing certain individuals and refining our essential box to better meet the needs of our customers. Despite these challenges, the proposal session provided valuable insights from panelists who shared their perspectives on our startup. These insights have been instrumental in helping us gain a deeper understanding of our target market and refine our strategies moving forward. We learned the importance of flexibility and adaptation in responding to customer needs and the value of seeking input from diverse perspectives to drive innovation and growth. These lessons will guide us as we continue to navigate the journey of building and evolving our startup to better serve our customers.

"We are better when we listen, learn from mistakes and consistently strive to be great"
By: Cosrojas, Dolf Ethan P.
Life is full of challenges, challenging the obstacles could lead to the result of being astray, greatness and disappointment while fearing the unknown and over thinking will lead to anxiety and then to downfall. To most students will be astray to the path of greatness then to disappointment and adding to fear lead to disaster yet by getting back up and keep pushing forward while life be a lesson to success.
We failed to understand what is important to everything we strive for while we pitch our ideas in setting motion, fearing what others perspective to us despite that they are there to help us have led to annoyance and depression but we are wrong as they provide guidance and their professional perspective that will bind us to better and that only thing we need to do is listen to our panelist especially to our handsome and expert professor, Sir Reymark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Among the advice that they told us is that we shouldn't feel nervous towards them as they are here to help, we should revise our presentation properly, change our business name as it could lead to plagiarism and finally is to make our business have a connection to our course as Civil Engineering.
We started to meet up online to redesign/ recreate our business again twice.Among the following;
Tumblr media
Then after consideration has led in choosing;
Tumblr media
So we did revise and work to find the need to succeed, what we were instructed to do but due to multiple schedules from other classes have led to meet in our group chat then we ask for the perspective of others about plans and ideas!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Among the perspectives of the people I have interviewed is that this idea could lead to a helping hand to those who need extra materials for other construction work from my seniors perspective will from my dorm mate are thrilled to consider other possibilities of usage such as for Arts and science could use in for experimentation, use for home interior designs and many more!
Therefore, we must strive for greatness and when we are down, we must stand back as we will not achieve anything in filling sorrow and always be positive as every thing starts with an idea.

BLOG YOUR ENTREP JOURNEY
Our primary step towards building our venture proposal, after successfully organizing our group, was to identify our target market. We were particularly interested in Central Mindanao University because we hypothesized that the majority of the students probably have a challenge of time management. To ascertain the validity of our hypothesis, we created an online survey that we sent to several students at CMU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our data, which indicated that a majority of the respondents found managing their time difficult, proved our hypothesis. Therefore, we settled on the majority problem because of a lack of adequate time for interviews. However, an important decision we needed to make was whether to focus on the majority problem or do something different. In the end , we identified the prevailing time management problem that we committed to solving. The approaches that could address the problem are an invention of a time management website and running errands for people with a tight schedule.
The entire work has instilled the lesson that failure is part and parcel of being an entrepreneur. Indeed, failure motivates me to tweak and perfect my ideas further and is vital for my personalised creativity.

REJECTION THERAPY: "Pwede mag hulam cellphone ugma na i uli?"
In the realm of entrepreneurship, rejection therapy can be an invaluable tool for aspiring business owners and innovators. Here's how:
Developing Resilience: Entrepreneurship is often characterized by uncertainty and rejection. Whether it's pitching to investors, reaching out to potential customers, or facing criticism of your ideas, rejection is almost inevitable. Engaging in rejection therapy helps entrepreneurs develop the resilience needed to persevere in the face of setbacks. Instead of letting rejection deter them, they learn to view it as a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey and use it as fuel to keep moving forward.
Building Confidence: Confidence is essential for entrepreneurs to take risks, make decisions, and lead their ventures effectively. By intentionally seeking out rejection and learning to handle it gracefully, entrepreneurs can build confidence in their abilities and ideas. Over time, they become more comfortable with putting themselves and their ventures out there, even in the face of potential rejection.
Refining Ideas and Approaches: Rejection can provide valuable feedback that helps entrepreneurs refine their ideas, products, or approaches. Each rejection offers an opportunity for reflection and iteration, leading to improvements that increase the likelihood of success in the future. Through rejection therapy, entrepreneurs learn to embrace feedback, pivot when necessary, and continuously iterate until they find the right fit.
Expanding Networks: Rejection therapy often involves putting oneself in situations where they interact with new people and organizations. For entrepreneurs, this can be an excellent way to expand their networks and establish connections that could be beneficial for their ventures. Even if a particular interaction ends in rejection, it can still lead to valuable connections or insights down the line.
Overcoming Fear of Failure: Fear of failure is a common barrier for many entrepreneurs. Rejection therapy provides a structured way to confront and overcome this fear by exposing individuals to rejection in a controlled environment. By repeatedly facing rejection and realizing that it doesn't define their worth or potential for success, entrepreneurs can become more comfortable with the idea of failure and more willing to take calculated risks.
In conclusion, rejection therapy offers entrepreneurs a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. By intentionally seeking out rejection and learning to handle it effectively, entrepreneurs can develop resilience, confidence, and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. Rejection becomes not only a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey but also a valuable source of feedback and learning. Through rejection therapy, entrepreneurs can refine their ideas, expand their networks, and overcome the fear of failure, ultimately positioning themselves for greater success in the dynamic and challenging world of entrepreneurship.

In our interview with CMU students, we found that plastic waste was a major issue on campus and beyond. This led our team to develop a venture proposal for eco-bricks and innovate it into furniture, a solution aimed at reducing plastic pollution. While an engineer confirmed the durability of our eco-bricks, their economic sustainability was questioned. Nonetheless, our hypothesis that the product would be durable and practical was validated.
As we interview our target market we ask them 3 questions.
1. Would you be interested in purchasing furniture made from Eco Bricks?
2. Do you see a growing demand for sustainable or eco-friendly furniture in the market?
3. How would you describe your overall impression of Eco Bricks funiture?
As we gather the information, the first question most of them said yes but they are answering it depends on the price. The second question is most of them said yes because it is a niche in the market nowadays but not mostly everyone, but they are considering to moving into the awareness of sustainability. The third question is their overall impression is eco bricks funiture is an art that can drive a solution to manage plastic wastes.
The team decided that we should not only focus to the hollow block or eco bricks instead we can have more income if we innovate the product.
Our team learned that our product alone cannot solve the global waste management problem. However, it has the potential to contribute to the development of creative solutions for specific communities like Central Mindanao University (CMU). CMU students generate a significant amount of non-biodegradable trash, including plastic bottles, making it an ideal testing ground for our product.

On the second part of our venture proposal, we conducted our interview and the results were 6/10 farmers we interviewed were having a hard time dealing with middlemen and we asked them if they were given a chance to solve their problem of these middlemen, they said that if only there was something that would consider their budget spent on making or producing their crops and vegetables, that would be one of the solutions.
Our team thoroughly validated our data gathered from our interview, there were only two options that came up to our mind and first was to follow or make what the farmers said about an app and the second was to change our target market because we felt the heaviness of the demands our farmers so we, as a group decided that we should make an app that would caterthe farmers in selling their products without being abused by the middlemen in terms of their pricing. We chose this because it is a way for us to help our fellow farmers. After all of this, our team learned that we shouldn't just focus on the broadest perspective but rather making it more and more specific overtime like, looking for some possible causes of these problems and solving them little by little.
Below are some pics of us conducting our interview

Blog 4
4th blog
Hello readers! I'm back again with our new blog. Sad to say, this might be my last blog I'll be posting. I just need some time to grow and improve. As for my last blog, I would like to share with you readers what I have learned along the way, how those activities have altered my thoughts with regards to business, how to handle circumstances, everything.
An entrepreneurship subject typically covers a range of topics related to starting, managing, and growing a business. This is what our professor told us in the first place. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurial ventures. I honestly wasn't interested in this thing and even questioned myself why we have to study something unrelated to our course, not until I tried and pushed myself into a world I have no idea about.
Studying entrepreneurship goes beyond business creation; it cultivates a mindset and skill set that prepares us for a dynamic and challenging world, encouraging us to approach opportunities and challenges with creativity, resilience, and a proactive attitude. It fosters a creative mindset, encouraging us  to think outside the box and come up with novel ideas.
It encourages critical thinking skills, enabling us to analyze problems, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions. It's proven when we had our very first step on completing the task which I have already posted in my first blog. By taking the initial step,I know we have set the stage for a well-prepared and organized start to our business.
Making a concept map was harder than I initially thought it would be. But we did it well where we  illustrated the relationships and connections between various concepts or ideas related to our topic or a problem and organized the thoughts, brainstorming, and presenting complex information. This  effectively developed our communication skills for presenting our ideas, and promoting the products.
Entrepreneurs often face setbacks, and I learned the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges. It encourages me to analyze situations critically, identify problems, and develop innovative solutions, which is transferable to various life and career situations.
Overall, studying entrepreneurship empowers students with a holistic understanding of business concepts and the practical skills needed to start and manage successful ventures. It equips students with a versatile skill set that goes beyond business creation. These skills and mindsets enhance their ability to navigate challenges, pursue opportunities, and contribute positively to various aspects of their lives.
Hanggang sa muli, readers!

"Stormy Skies and Trash Can Tales: The Hilarious Heroics of CMUan Students"
Life as a CMUan student is a rollercoaster ride through the storms of heavy rain, dodging puddles like Olympic hurdles while balancing textbooks and laptops like circus performers. Transportation becomes an adventure sport, with students mastering the art of catching buses amidst a chaotic dance of schedules and overcrowded stops. And let's not forget the battle against the ultimate foe: garbage waste. Trash cans overflow like never-ending fountains, testing our determination as we navigate through a sea of discarded coffee cups and crumpled papers, searching for a spot to drop our own waste without causing an environmental disaster.
But amidst these trials and tribulations, there's a hidden gem of inspiration. As I embarked on the noble quest of interviewing my fellow warriors of academia, I found myself facing an army of reluctant interviewees. Some were as elusive as unicorns, dodging my inquiries with ninja-like reflexes, while others, like rare Pokémon, were too shy to emerge from the safety of their academic cocoons. Yet, in the midst of this comedic struggle, I discovered a profound truth: the resilience of the human spirit. Despite their busy schedules and natural inclination towards avoiding interviews like the plague, many students opened up with tales of perseverance and humor, reminding me that even in the midst of chaos, there's always room for laughter and inspiration. So here's to the CMUan spirit – braving the storms, battling the garbage, and still finding reasons to smile amidst the madness.

Embracing the Wind: Customer Eagerness for Roof Vent Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
In the ever-evolving landscape of renewable energy, Roof Vent Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (RV-VAWT) have emerged not only as a technological marvel but as a product garnering genuine enthusiasm from potential buyers. Recent interviews with customers and stakeholders in the renewable energy sector have revealed a striking willingness to invest in our RV-VAWT technology. This collective openness to embrace change is rooted in the perceived value and unique advantages that these turbines bring, particularly in urban settings.
The interviews painted a vivid picture of customers who are not merely interested but eager to pay for RV-VAWTs. One key driver of this enthusiasm is the growing awareness of the need for sustainable practices. Customers expressed a strong desire to contribute to a cleaner future, and the RV-VAWTs' ability to generate clean energy in urban environments aligned seamlessly with this aspiration. The interviews underscored a prevailing sentiment among environmentally conscious consumers who see these turbines as a tangible way to reduce their carbon footprint.
Furthermore, customers exhibited a forward-thinking mindset, viewing the purchase of RV-VAWTs as a long-term investment rather than a simple transaction. The potential for energy cost savings over time, coupled with the environmental benefits, resonated strongly with buyers. This strategic perspective highlights a recognition of the lasting impact and value that RV-VAWTs can bring to both individual households and businesses.
The compact and visually appealing design of RV-VAWTs emerged as another key factor driving customer interest. The ability to seamlessly integrate these turbines into existing urban infrastructure, especially on rooftops, was seen as a significant advantage. Customers appreciated the potential for enhancing the sustainability of their homes or businesses without sacrificing aesthetic considerations.
Moreover, the positive reputation of the RV-VAWT industry played a crucial role in instilling confidence among potential buyers. Success stories from early adopters and endorsements from industry influencers contributed to the overall positive perception of RV-VAWTs, influencing the decision-making process of prospective customers.
In conclusion, the interviews offered a compelling narrative of customers not only expressing interest but actively seeking to embrace the transformative potential of Roof Vent Vertical Axis Wind Turbines. This collective eagerness reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, a recognition of the long-term benefits, and an appreciation for the seamless integration of RV-VAWTs into the fabric of urban living. As the winds of change continue to propel the RV-VAWT business forward, it is evident that these turbines are not just a product but a catalyst for a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.

You're safe with me
Tumblr media
Thinking like an entrepreneur is like sprinting through a maze, trying to find a way through a thousand paths in order to succeed. In short, it is difficult to solve a problem while remaining distinct from competing products. Over countless issues across the globe, entrepreneurs are the backbone of the economy, which is why we continue to acquire the satisfaction we demand.
The Central Mindanao University strives to produce young entrepreneurs in Mindanao who will work for the country, by challenging them to create a firm that will test how broad their skills in doing business are in order to practice their minds on how to be successful in the future.
Our first-semester course, The Entrepreneurial Mind, assigned us to form teams with eight people to serve as our midterm grade. Every meeting of the team truly challenged us to build something that might be easily marketable by first identifying our target market. We applied an interview strategy to gather information and answers from various people; we were only able to interview 64 people via messenger.
The questions we asked during our interview are listed below:
1. What problems do you encounter in your daily work?
2. As a consumer, what is the current demand for products in the marketplace?
3. What factors are most important to you when deciding to purchase from a new business?
4. What current problems exist in the field of agriculture, medicine, and education that needs to be solve?
5. Upon evaluating the problems encountered in the fields, do you have any product suggestions that can be launched in the marketplace?

The majority of my respondents' replies to the first question are about students' anxiety of going home or even walking alone these days since they no longer feel safe prior to recent incidents. Our team chose to create a device that can track a person's location and provide protection for the students in the Musuan area. It is really simple to operate because you only need to push it twice. This Musuan pin is intended to assist students in seeking assistance in the event of an emergency, particularly in cases of harassment or danger. The name was inspired by the infamous mountain in front of campus, which offers a breathtaking perspective. Though several of my groupmates' interviewees expressed concerns regarding agriculture, but we all agreed on the final decision, which was the security of the CMUANs. In conclusion, we will not let any CMU students feel alone in times of dangerous circumstances.
