I've really been loving pez dispenser debris and I was wondering if you had any recs for for other bnha fics. I haven't really read other bnha fic before and I'm struggling to define what I'm looking for when I try to find more to read. Like I love the way Todoroku and Izuku interact in your fic. That kind of unhinged friendship that other people don't quite understand. And I love the way Mirio and Izuku intereact, just absolutely each others super fans. I also really enjoy Izuku having to deal with parts of his past being revealed that he never intended.

It's always fun when an author I adore writes for a different fandom than I usually read and suddenly I develop a craving for it.

So here’s some fics that kind of broadly fit into the categories you’re describing:

Unhinged friendship/relationships:

That time I got reincarnated as a doomed side character by gentrychild. I don't know if you're familiar with Isekai as like, a genre, but it basically tends to run along the premise of someone dying and being reborn into a fantastical world, with the world they're reborn into occasionally being a mirror of a franchise that the protagonist is familiar with. This fic runs along the same kind of premise, where Izuku is a boy from a non-Quirked world that has the BNHA world as a popular franchise (one that's very different from canon BNHA). However, he's never read the source material. This one has a lot of the vaguely crackish humor that mine does and it has plenty of unhinged relationships and dynamics in it, including one between Todoroki and Izuku. It's extremely funny, highly recommend.

More Like ENDEVIL, Amiright? by TheBabbleRabble. Ensemble Class 1-A shenanigans where they all collectively try to make Endeavor's life a living hell. All of the kids are very unhinged in this and the rest of the world is frightened. Very funny crack fic.

Date Me (For Justice) by Hayleythewriter. Midoriya and Todoroki embark on a fake dating scheme to raise queer visibility in the school due to the lack of support systems at UA. They are both in love with the other. Also extremely funny and all of the kids have a sort of zany dynamic between them.

Looping back to the beginning by Feneris. Class 1-A gets caught up in a time loop and decides to use this for amusement. All of them are very unhinged in a way that terrifies the world around them.

Mirio&Izuku Superfans:

I have pretty much nothing here that I can think of, whether it be between Izuku and Mirio or any other characters. Mirio in general doesn’t have a lot of fics where he’s the focus (that I’ve found).

I think the closest that I could recommend would be:

the see it all in bloom series by aloneintherain. Honestly, this series is so fun and well done that it’s worth the read no matter what. It’s a series of one shots that follows the Class 1-A kids (+ Shinsou - Mineta) after they're established pro heroes. It has a lot of the class supporting each other and cheering each other on as each other's fans, and it's delivered in a lot of the social media format that chapter 6 of pez dispensers uses.

hand-picked by pocketramblr. This does not have superfans so much but it does have Mirio and Izuku in a supportive friendship with each other. The premise is that, instead of a high school system, heroics works off of an apprenticeship model, and Izuku is All Might's first and only apprentice. Mirio is Nighteye's apprentice and he still adopts a senpai role with Izuku. I've found it difficult to find fics with a focus on Mirio and Izuku's friendship, and this is very much a fun universe and a fun take on Mirio and Izuku within it.

Both are really fun worlds to hang out in and I really recommend giving them a spin. That being said, neither of them have exactly the vibe of what Mirio and Izuku do in pez dispensers to me, so they may not be exactly what you’re looking for. In the sense that Mirio and Izuku in pez dispensers are walking around like "and I would like to thank god for putting me on this earth at the same time as this beautiful soul because it is honestly a blessing and an honor to breathe the same air as him." The energy is just a little different, but I can't think of a fic that has quite the same energy. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know.

Past Revealed:

things that haunt our hallways by ghostwriterofthemachine: this is less Izuku specifically and more the entire class (- Mineta). The fic follows from Aizawa’s point of view retrieving the Class 1-A students from a deserted, partially destroyed cityscape after they were accidentally hit by a haywire fear inducer Quirk during a rescue simulation. The first part of the fic follows him finding each student caught up in their own personal terrors, some hallucinating, some not. The second part of the fic is more recovery centric, with all of them going back to the dorms and comforting each other while the Quirk wears off. It’s very well written and has a very thorough understanding of each character.

those hardest to love need it the most by DancingInTheStorm. Honestly, DancingInTheStorm is a really solid bnha writer and it's worth it to check out all of their stuff. However, this one as the sort of aspect of it being a reveal fic about a lot of the issues surrounding Izuku's Quirklessness to Aizawa specifically.

Honesty's the (Best?) Policy by honeyandsunshine. Sero POV of taking care of an Izuku who's been hit by a Quirk that puts him in a state of lowered inhibitions and compulsive honesty. Tw for discussion of canon-typical suicide baiting/suicidal thoughts.

My favourite BNHA fics

Most of these are LoV-centric because I love their whole ‘found family trope’ thing but there are some that aren’t. I mainly read crack, fluff or humorous fics so there isn’t a whole lot of angst. Some are unfinished but are either being updated or don’t really need additional chapters to work. Lastly, they are mostly oneshots or fics with a small amount of chapters. Get To Know You by mikewritesthings is great. Sero shamelessly flirts with Iida and Iida is an adorable, oblivious dweeb.

Story Time by mikewritesthings. Hizashi recounts his and aizawa’s love story. It’s also tagged as “#Hizashi is a melted bisexual puddle on the floor” and that’s really all you need to know about it.

Petal Steps by PitViperOfDoom is AMAZING. It’s a tododeku Greek god/goddess AU. I’m not super brushed up on my Greek mythology but Deku is the god of spring (I think) and Todoroki is the god of the underworld. It’s just. Go read it.

At First Sight by mikewritesthings is cute. Aizawa gets hit with like a love quirk or something and it makes everyone fall in love with him, so everyone’s acting super weird to him (cough except one person because they’re already in love with him cough)

Responsibility by yaanchan. This is what inspired my fic. At the time when I wrote mine, Responsibility was unfinished, but now there’s a second part called Liability! So go read it! It’s erasermic being parental to/adopting Todoroki, but Liability is a lot more serious and deals with extreme child abuse, so, content warning.

Adventures in Babysitting by Priestlyislove. Aizawa gets hit by an age-regression quirk. I like this fic a lot. All Might punches Hizashi in the face to try and get Aizawa to stop crying. It’s wonderful. Aizawa mostly stays himself in this fic but the issue is that he occasionally reverts to child-level intelligence. It’s hilarious.

Paved With Good Intentions by KuriKuri. Someone uses their quirk on Aizawa and “makes” him fall in love with Hizashi. It’s sweet (and there’s a twist so Aizawa does actually love hizashi etc you’ll see)

Warm Nights by KuriKuri. A 5+1 fic of the times Erasermic shared a bed. Good shit.

Summer Stars by PitViperOfDoom. Todoroki comes home with Midoriya over break. Mama Midoriya has a lot of love to give. 13 chapters

Reverie by AuspiciousWhiskers. Shinsou x Deku. Shinsou realizes that Deku’s hero mumbling puts him to sleep. They have a sleepover. It’s cute af.

Body in Electric Blue by saltsoldier. McHanzo bodyswap due to a glitch in the respawn system. It’s funny and y’all should read it.

Lost in Translation by BenevolentErrancy. HANZO SAYS DIRTY SHIT TO JESSE IN JAPANESE, JESSE IS CONFUSED, AND GENJI WANTS TO MURDER HANZO. it’s SO FUNNY

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors by vandoodle. This is truly the fake marriage fic that every fandom deserves. McHanzo have to pose as husbands and infiltrate the suburb. This is easily my favorite fic on this list. Tagged as “#finally I can use my southern upbringing to create something very gay”

four days by starscryThis is my other favorite fic on this list. McCree convinces Hanzo to pose as his boyfriend because he’s been telling his family that he has a boyfriend when he very much Does Not. Drinks are had. Beds are shared.

An Exercise In ‘Worthless’ by beastofthesky. This is my all time fav Destiel fic. Cas is a (PhD?) student and Dean is a tattoo artist. Dean doesn’t think he’s good enough. A bit of it: “I mean, you’re–” He gestures at Cas, in his neat oxford shirt and nice pants. “–and I’m a high school dropout who tattoos for a living.”

levi / @prodigyn : where do i even start ? you mean the absolute world to me and i know i’m a better person just because of you. you are quite literally the light of my life and you have been through it all with me. it just means the world to me that you and i are such close friends and we’ve continued to better each other in the longrun. everyday i really just think “wow, i got such a great person in my life !” and that’s what really makes it for me. you are amazing at all you do, and i still look up to you and TO you for inspiration on MY everything. you are an amazing, wonderful human being and i can’t wait for us to take this year by storm !
