Sailing history was written on Saturday, as Emirates Team New Zealand won the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup have officially made history as the first continuous team to win the America's Cup and lift the Auld Mug for the third time in a row.

Dating back to 1851, the America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport and has become the source of fierce international rivalries and spectacular duels across the years.

This year’s racing took place in Barcelona, where the challenger, INEOS Britannia Team, faced a head-to-head battle with the defender, Emirates Team New Zealand. Competed over 9 races, the New Zealand team eventually claimed a 7-2 winning margin in the first-to-seven series, showing the very best of its tactical precision and innovative boat design.

INEOS Britannia’s defeat concluded a historic campaign for Britain, which saw INEOS Britannia become the first-ever British team to win an America’s Cup Challenger Series, the first British team to race in the America’s Cup Match in 60 years, and the first British boat to score points in the Match in 90 years, equaling Britain’s most successful performance ever, achievements combined set a new standard for British sailing in the America’s Cup.

As expected the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes 🇬🇧 confirmed as the yacht club that will be Challenger of Record for the 38th America's Cup. The victorious Emirates Team New Zealand confirmed that a challenge had been accepted by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron 🇳🇿 The British are now Challenger of Record** for the second consecutive event.

There’s so much more potential in the America’s Cup. So now is time to work with the Kiwis as a Defender to promote that.

It was another great day for Oracle Team USA Spithill. They won the speed trials, and the first fleet race. Meanwhile, Emirates Team New Zealand finally broke through after a really challenging week by taking the second fleet race in impressive fashion. Team Korea finally had some results to show for their efforts, with a second and a fourth in the fleet races, and a third in the speed trials. They are now just a few points away from a podium finish for the regatta. And Luna Rossa ... well no matter how they're doing in the standings, they always look good doing it.
