That scene in Nosferatu of them meeting in the flesh for the first time though......The absolute crisp tension of their dialogue, the perfect rhythm of their dialogue...Depp and Skarsgard killed it, they deserve the world for that scene alone. Him calling her "my affliction", her calling him "a villain to speak so", her asserting fearlessly he can't love and him admitting it without sugarcoating but asserting back that nothing can sate him but her.....her breathing "I abhor you" a breath away from his lips, him getting enraged and going full fairytale mode on her "THREE NIGHT I WILL COME TO YOU - TONIGHT WAS THE FIRST, TONIGHT YOU DENIED ME"........the gothic romance there is unreal. Perfection.

So I did like Nosferatu, not as much as some other vampire movies, but I'm having a hard time with the ending and seeing it as doing anything other than punishing a woman for her sexual desires.

If you have other interpretations by all means please share, because I'm genuinely interested.

i really don't think ellen was dealing with any kind of sexual repression like i've seen some people imply, and she certainly didn't need orlock's help in that department. or do you guys not remember her and thomas sucking face in their friends parlor? or how about them angry fucking and her mocking orlock by calling out for him to look and see their love for each other? girl had a lot of things wrong in her life but dissatisfaction with her husband was not one of them
