the fun thing about making a comic where i've vaguely appropriated the aesthetics of christianity but entirely eschewing the actual religion is that i get to come up with headcanons for my universe like "hell isn't eternal punishment at all, it's literally just a big meat grinder where people's souls are sent to get converted to demon food. which isn't really all that different than the default option, where a soul is simply released back into the universe and becomes part of the big ocean of mana out there"

#meanwhile heaven is like.... essentially just a walled garden thats nearly also exactly the same #its just that instead of becoming part of Everything you join this specific Curated Collection of mana #i love writing comics about angels and demons and going #'actually what happens after death isnt really that meaningful and ultimately all the options are essentially subtle nuances of the same en #call it optimistic nihilism i suppose #life is energy and energy returns to the universe and nothing is created or destroyed #idk it makes it far more fun writing about vaugely christian aesthetics when #i entirely deny that there is any actual benefit to heaven or punishment to hell #we simply become part of everything else one way or another #also worth noting that heaven and hell are opt-in systems #you have to believe in them to be eligible for the process of being tried after death #it's more of a system of allocating resources donated by human believers #than a morality based afterlife #also hence why heaven is essentially a government system and hell is a business #theyre just two different approaches to deciding where resources get allocated #but those resources exist outside of them #and will continue to exist on their own #oc lore #worldbuilding #its always fun to call 'coming up with insane variations on theological concepts' worldbuilding but uh #thats the fun of writing a vaguely christian-shaped story as an atheist #i get to go 'my city now'

#listen they're eligible for religious persecution visas #they have one (1) temple in iran and they can't use it #one of the few cemeteries they had was taken over by the islamic regime as a trainings ground so surprise surprise they can't bury their #dead anymore #for once they haven't been able to bury their dead as zoroastrianism dictates for a VERY long time #their schools are lead by muslims #and they can't access university because the university entrance exams tests them on their knowledge of islam #and! what's! worse! their culture is being appropriated and rebranded as ✨️iranian culture✨️

so i'm going to be applying to do another degree next year, part time online so that i can still work around it. and it is so hard to remember the "work around it" and "next year" parts and not just. leave my job and somehow do the entire degree this afternoon before i've even applied for my tuition loan or anything

#a bunch of mostly-BScs on Open University are eligible for loan or partial loan even if you already hold a degree #and i want to get into academic editing which has way more opportunities if you have a STEM background than humanities #so time to completely reskill #i'm excited about it!!

#What is ancient ties? WELL FINALLY #See uhhh ancient ties is my main warrior cats oc universe. With fanclans entirely populated with full lineups #And stories planned out through two arcs.#The first arc consists of two comics and a short epilogue converging the two and setting up arc 2 #Well. It SHOULD. It doesn’t YET but it WILL I’m. Working on things #We originally got 2 chapters out I believe but. An artist left the team and that would significantly change the style #Because I let them sketch and line after my paper boards! So I’m gonna just. Remake the whole thing from my boards #My book of eligible scripts #I can read them and I’m the only one that needs tooooo #Then the second arc is just one gigantic comic plan. Oof #Prequel also possible. If I let myself think too much there WILL be a third arc so.#Gotta try and focus my brain so I can just get one thing done. Just one comic would be good.#The first planned one is Twisted Bonds (the subtitle. It’s under ancient ties still) and it shooouldnt be too more than ten chapters #I THINK. Which is like 30-70 pages each give or take. Avg 50 #POSSIBLE. Very possible for a creature that only works weekends and fridays #I need a passion and I will make it. I love that one coloring game named Dazzly and, while I'm disappointed at the fact most of it is llocked behind a paywall if you miss it out on the day it was released, I do think it could benefit from having some official collabs with gem-themed series and magical girl shows.

#dazzly #it's just a way too mahoucore game to not get at least a sailor moon or a madoka magica collab #also i feel having such collabs could draw more people to the game #it doesn't need to be limited to magical girl (or boy) shows. it could also get jeweler richard or houseki no kuni collabs #it doesn't even need to be anime! trollz and steven universe also exist y'know?#anyway if it's gem jewelry or crystal themed in any way it should be eligible for a collab #yes even your fave jewel heist action movies could qualify #i just think the entire concept of this game is very neat #(and there's no other game that has the same premises and mechanics in app stores which is why i stuck to it despite my grievances)#(and boy do i have SEVERAL grievances with the way dazzly works)#i for one am very much against most daily coloring pages paywalled if you don't play them on release day #you can paywall the collections and the diy patterns but also most of the common daily content? that's mean #'well just pay for premium' at 10 euros a week and the euro costing over 6brl that's logistically impossible for me rn #and yes it's a WEEKLY subscription system AT THIS PRICE which is another grievance of mine #subscription systems are understandable for constantly updating content but 10 euros per week........#part of why i feel collabs could benefit the game as well: maybe the influx of new paying users could lower the price a bit #(or maybe not. dazzly IS made by a french company after all and you know how much friggin' elitism french jewelers tend to have.)#(even though this is pixel jewels... well at least i'm learning more about gems? ... kind of?)
