- I loved the scene of Elgin, Fatima and Ellis in the van! It looked like it was taken in one shot and I felt like I was another character in the van with them and it felt like a video game!

- Ellis and Fatima are Adam and Eve in this story. Knew it since the naked painting of them on their bedroom wall! Except that painting DOES NOT look like an Ellis painting... It looks like a child's painting... As in Victor's painting 👀. Ellis is Adam, Fatima is Eve, Victor is a prophet.

- If Smiley is still lying there by morning... They can like... Cut him open and try to figure out these monsters a little bit better. But what if he's actually alive and his body is just "installing" upgrades... What if he becomes Super Smiley? That would be terrifying

What's interesting to me about the Sara/Elgin comparisons is that Sara seems much more outwardly regretful of her actions than Elgin.

She doesn't want to do the things she does, she knows it's wrong, she knows it's bad, but she believes it's the way to go home. Elgin, while on a surface level knows he's doing a bad thing, he doesn't regret it.

Their reactions to the actions they take are very different in that regard. I wonder if it's to do with their connection to the town or the severity of their actions (murdering a boy vs forced pregnancy) or if they're being influenced by separate entities with different agendas.

And another thing I wanted to mention: Sara said the voices told her "this would be the last one" and in the context of the scene and what we knew in that moment, it's safe to assume they meant the last person to die in town. But with the knowledge we have today, I wonder if they meant "the last child for the ritual".

if we go by the theory that some number of the people who come to fromville are reincarnations of the original townspeople who are destined to come back again and again until the children are saved (jade, tabitha) and others are basically unlucky bystanders in their current life who get trapped with them (jim) then let’s think about other characters. namely, i agree with the theory that abby was maybe someone who was reincarnated. it’s implied she dreamed of the town when she was a child, and what was her final act? she was about to kill her son, believing she was doing the right thing (an echo of the event that kicked all of this off, something that would have ensured everyone was doomed until the next cycle because no one is free until the children are saved) but she couldn’t. because boyd, someone outside of the cycle, stopped her.

i’m quite enamored with boyd as a character who fights desperately against fate. he is adamant about how he refuses to be broken by the town, and although he knows some things like his Parkinson’s are inevitable, others he feels compelled to change. but the thing is, if my theory holds, he never should have been there at all. he was a total rando who got sucked up into this cycle of death and reincarnation and horror but he started to make things different. he made a difference in people’s lives, and most significantly, he stopped the story from repeating itself. what if jade and tabitha need someone like him to truly end the cycle - someone who was never involved in the first place but tries so fucking hard now that he’s a genuine threat to whatever controls fromville? i mean, why else would this place try so hard to break him if he didn’t pose a danger to the evil there? sure, it’s a very petty evil, who likes a cheap shot, and he did directly challenge them. but i think boyd needs to find tabitha and jade asap because i really believe he might be the key they’ve been missing in each round

i actually need boyd's actions towards elgin to create divide in the community or make ppl distrust his authority, like previously whenever townies start acting up and whining abt boyd it drives me up the walls bc hes always the most rational person in the room but now he's losing himself and it would make sense for more ppl to turn on him. the place is finally getting to him and starting to break him, not only is his hypocricy and bias affecting his actions he's also jumping the gun and not trying to work things through rationally which were previously the pillars that held up his position as a sort of a leader. like i understood the urgency he felt and they didn't have all the information but the fact that fatima was literally just Fine. like yeah traumatized and hurt but she wasn't in any danger at the end of it the kimono lady didn't try to kill her just took the "baby" and left 😭 boyd took a hammer to a boy and the end result was the same as if they didn't do anything about it fatima wouldve just walked out w elgin after the birth i guess (well, we dont know what wouldve happened if she stayed the night there but she had a talisman and the cellar has previously been a safe place despite the trap door) im afraid some of the events of the finale will be overshadowed by what happened to jim and fatima but i do wanna see the townies find out that boyd was ready for physical torture the moment he needed it to protect his daughter in law who killed an innocent townie. if boyd's arc is abt trying to fight against the town doing its best to break him then pleaseee let it have consequences for him when he actually does start to break
