Elfgreen New Years Eve Drabble for @furidojasutin

This one- ... was hard... because I have a difficult time getting into Elfman and Evergreen’s heads. Sorry if its bad. >< (And even shorter than the last one omg)

They bickered constantly- sometimes even when it wasn’t wholly justified. Though many outsiders looking in would think it was a clear sign of their lack of Chemistry- the rest of the Guild Knew otherwise. Even they knew it- but dare to speak it out loud?

Never. Not yet.

Arguments, brawls, cheering and booze- all passed around that night- the count down was loud and obnoxious- typical Fairy Tail behavior.  Except, quieter than the others, Evergreen stood, smiling brightly, accepting her team members were busy (Freed had disappeared quite some time ago-) and her comfort came, instead, from a tall, burly man she often threatened to turn to stone.  He stood behind her, arms raised in the air, smiling as he boisterously shouted with their peers and she almost leaned against him.

Almost, but not quite. Just enough, but he got the gist, one muscular arm moving to gently press against the small of her back. They weren’t ready for full on exposure, not just yet, but it was enough. His immense size was contradicted by the soft way his hands gazed her, the way security shot through her spine like cement.

Magic wise, she was stronger than him. Had always been stronger- he knew it, had complimented it many times, but there was no need to pretend his presence didn’t have it’s own strength, and she soaked it in despite keeping her gaze away. Evergreen sipped her drink, heard a large thud of tables being knocked over and rolled her eyes.

But before he could leave her side, Elfman lowered his bulky frame, smile clear on his face, eyes sincere, and he spoke his first words of the year directly to her.

“Happy New Year, Ever- and many more t’come right?”

Once upon a time she would have snapped for him to never call her that, but her cheeks flushed red, content by the small promise that lilted his voice and finally turned her gaze to meet his own. .

“As many as you can handle, you behemoth.” She vowed right back.

They smiled: nothing more needed to be said.

Not just yet.

• when or if I started shipping it. I suppose it had to be the Tenro Island arc. I remember thinking that Ever looks remarkably prettier with her hair down, and was more interested in her character already. And then everyone was teamed up and I saw Gajevy blossoming and looked at Elfman and Evergreen with big sparkley eyes and was like "are you OTP toooo?" • my thoughts: Easily my second fav FT OTP, I adore everything about this pairing. I remember wanting to just rip my heart out at  my pretty baby girl who hates sharing her feeling was apologizing in such a sincere way i love her

• What makes me happy about them: They went to that hot springs together and I was like "WTF they are so canon I will break anyone in half that dissagrees with me." Everyone in the guild ships it. They're so cute ugh.• What makes me sad about them: They both have their own self esteem issues rooted down to considering themselves monsters because of their pasts and I don't know if they gonna smoochy smooch for me until they get past that (together) • things done in art/fic that annoys me: I really dislike cheating to get around Ever needing her glasses.• things I look for in art/fic: Elfman embarrassing Ever with his bluntness is a A++++• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

• My happily ever after for them: Elfman does something self sacrificing but survives and Evergreen beats him up with the most tsundere of faces and calls him a big stupid lug cuz whats the point of saving his family if he cant be with them and implies she's part of his family and then they get really embarrassed and Elfman says something really corny that's a impromptu proposal and it's cute as fuck. justgetmarriedalready.• what is their favorite non-sexual activity? IDK I have this head canon that while Ever is a big reader, Elfman isn't so much, so she'll read books that have movie adaptions and then watch the movies with Elf and bark through the whole movie about how they messed this and that up and he just laughs and it's fun.

This is funny fanfic that doesn’t concentrate on one couple but lots of them. Very much in the spirit of Fairy Tail  I could completely imagine it happening in the manga. The concept is interesting and original and the author has managed to make it work. It is an idea that is difficult to write about and the author completely succeeded. The competition is taken very seriouslye which I loved. Don’t expect amazing writing and it can be a little bit childish for some people but it is a light, fun and amusing read. Check it out :)

Lovely, I don’t think you realize the dam you just lit explosives on, but I am READY for this. Sort of.  I didn’t really have many prompts in my head, but I can certainly list the pairings and try and think of something for you. I’ll bold the ones I like the most out of these.

Fairy Tail:

GrayxLoke - no specific prompts in mind here, I just love their dynamic and would love to see them interact more often. Either it just hanging out, fighting together, you name it.

LokexCana - Also no specific tropes, but I imagine they’ve gone on jobs with each other a few times and am curious how those would play out. 

COBRAXLEVY - My Guilty of all Rare pairs and I just love imagining them running into each other and have to work together despite their differences - also the sass they could give each other.

RoguexLevy - them having a comfortable moment reading and enjoying each others company. I can see it and I want it. 

StingxLevy - yes I ship this too. no scene ideas in mind though.

BickslowxLevy - same as above

LakixMax - same as above

FreedxLevy - Them working together to outsmart people or translating things and flirting. Seriously- they’d be great at it.

LevyxLucy - no prompts but them girls need girl talk and book club time. 

CanaxMirajane - just.. them. .. flirting!
