@wandererxiv's March prompt: It was no proper delivery. No knock upon the door. There was no one to answer as to what the meaning of the 'tribute' left in the front walkway meant. A serpent, with black iridescent scales, lay speared with an arrow. Attached to it rested a letter, sealed with wax and stained with the snake's blood. Was it a threat? An theatrical message of love?

“Who would want to harm you?” Kaevia’s gentle voice cut through the silence at the other end of the table.

Plenty of people, none with the gumption.

“Well, I would like to know who was brave enough to put it at your door,” Annette replied.

– Or stupid enough.

“I’ll have those in the Quill & Coven questioned. Someone in Black Water had to see someone heading toward the Keep.”

Vahalia’s forefinger and thumb drew circles along one another in a slow motion. Like a metronome, it soothed her racing mind, which had already begun to plot and pivot through various assumptions.

The women behind her began to talk amongst themselves between Castien’s insistence to seek the person out, Marion’s fright, Annette scowling and the small jibs of ‘tch’s and ‘hmphs’ that came from her was enough to know that the woman had been off-put entirely by coming across the piece within the walkway.

Threats were easy to find as often they were deliberate, the intent to eventually be found else one wouldn’t go to such lengths. There was a saying that: You can mistake a snake for a rope or a rope for a snake. Upon the first blunder and grab a snake for a rope, you could die from a single bite. The other connotes the ignis fatuus in life.

A snake by someone’s doorstep was a sign of death or tragedy, though this one was deceased. Perhaps it was merely a sign of the Serpent of Time she had read in one of her books. That when the time comes of specific planetary alignment, it would signify debt to be paid. Challenged or karmic – whatever it might have been, it seemed entirely archaic.

Neither were a sound theory to go off of.

For a moment, Vahalia had considered it perhaps an omen or offering; however, what she believed in her practices rarely included such violent messages, and they were never accompanied by a missive. Often, the snake was represented as fertility and life forces; a symbol of rebirth, immortality everlasting, transformation and in some cultures, healing. There was evidence through what some travelers had come to know as ouroboros.

A strange concept for some, given that many men feared the venom of a snake though it was attributed to life and renewal – the complete opposite.

The arrow. Surely, the mastery of a skilled hunter though in her practice she knew the arrow to symbolize movement, power and at times, self-direction—precision from some of the most experienced warriors with slung bows.

She couldn't take chances, not with what had happened to Valeria. Not with Idalia and Evran.

The buzz of voices around her ceased when Vahalia reached for the arrow and plucked it from the body of the snake to inspect the tip, “Castien.” she spoke, golden eyes not leaving the make of the projectile in her hand.

Castien’s frame drew closer as her red eyes scanned the arrow within the Lady Cress’s elegant grasp. When Vahalia found the blonde woman within her peripheral Vahalia lowered the Arrow, “Take Kaevia with you to the Market, inquire and make sure to ask the bartender in The Smoking Crow, from there we will begin asking those who work the farmsteds. Your line of questioning should include anyone that has recently travelled here or through with a bow and quiver in hand or if there have been merchants selling ammunitions of this make in the past few days.” Carefully, Vahalia handed over the arrow, which Castien seemed to accept eagerly.

“Very well,” the tall half-elezen woman replied.

“Annette, you will inform Sir Taka and have he and Tjorbin search the curtilage for any signs of visitors. They might have left something else behind.”

The House Steward gave a swift curtsey and meandered off, but not without taking Marion by the wrist to have her follow along. Castien paused at the threshold as Kaevia seemed to tarry, “Lady Cress, will you be alright?” the Priestess asked softly.

Vahalia slipped the missive from the body of the serpent, inspecting the dried vital that littered the envelope, “I will be, yes. If you need to find me, I will be in the study looking into the habitat of our poor deceased friend here and consulting Belgrave on this.” her head did not turn but Vahalia’s eyes cut to Kaevia’s direction just beyond her vision's fringe.

Nothing else was said as the tasked women filed out and Vahalia looked to the serpent along the table before finally rising from her seat. 

She had a letter to read.

And this is where he bought those outfits the boys get in the FFXIV collab in FFXV!✨✨ I still can't believe Noct looked at a pair of Elezen boots and thought "yep. That's definitely Ignis's style."��

Sims Set Up

Since you all were so sweet about my Sims shipping, (Thank you so much by the way) I figured I'd show off our cast so far! I'm always going to be adding more, so please feel free to say if you and your f/o wanna be added! I'm just gonna show off one everyday outfit to keep it short(er)!

First we have my s/i: Rebecca Rozenaria. She's Cheerful, Creative, and has a custom Trait called True Love. (It's essentially Hopeless Romantic from Sims 3.) She likes writing, acting, gaming, baking, and singing! She longs for a soulmate!

Next we have the Ripper household. The first member is Jack/Raiden. He's Gloomy, a Loner, but Family Oriented. He just wants to be a good parent and is in the Military Career. He has a like for fitness, handiness, research and debate, programming, as well as rock-climbing. Robotics is complicated for him...

Then we have Rosemary. She's the mother of Jack's son John but her relationship with Raiden is on the rocks... She's Proper, Self-Absorbed, and Non-Commital. She's also rather overbearing with John. She wants to be a Mansion Baron since she wants a good life for her and John.

Finally, there's John. He's Proper like his mom but a total sweetie. He loves the color green and is a whiz-kid due to his mom. He's learning the piano and violin due to his mom. But he likes playing with his dad now that he's home!

-- After that, we have the FFXV crew! First, we have Gladio Amicitia! He's Athletic, Loyal, and Romantic but usually develops Loves the Outdoors and Self-Assured traits. He loves camping, handiness, wellness, gaming, rock climbing, and gardening!

Next we have Gladio's sister Iris! She's also Athletic, but also an Insider. She also likes gardening, knitting, cross-stitching, baking, and cooking. (Why can't there be sewing??) She's usually at the boba-thrift shop!

Then we have Prince Noctis! He's a Bro, Lazy (Not an insult but boy loves naps!), and Loyal as well. He likes Fishing, Gaming, and Mischief! I gave him the Neighborhood Confidante aspiration since he's gonna be king and NO SAD ENDS ARE ALLOWED HERE!

Then we have Prompto! He's Good, an Art Lover, and Creative. He loves gaming, photography (obviously), media production, skiing, and singing! He's also a spell-caster with the painter extrordianare aspiration.

Finally we have Ignis. He's a Foodie, Family Oriented, and Neat. He's also a spellcaster with the Master Chef. But he likes cooking, gaming, baking, wellness, and gardening!

-- Now let's go to FFXIV! Starting with the Heavensward Household, we have Aymeric and Estinien. Both are spellcasters (for the elezen ears!)

Aymeric is Outgoing, Loyal, and Family-Oriented (since he rises to lead Ishgard to a better future!) He likes research and debate, writing, gardening (for the Diadem and rebuilding of Foundation), and he wants to be a Friend of the World.

Then there's Estinien who is a Hot-Head (due to the Dragon Song War), Loner, and Ambitious since he's the Azure Dragoon!! He likes Handiness, Fitness, Rock Climbing, Snowboarding and Skiing. He has the extreme sports aspiration!

-- Then we have Zenos (The one who took over my head!) He is Jealous (since he wants to be the only one to 'hunt' me), Evil, and a custom trait Possessive. He wants to be a Public Enemy. But he likes fitness, robotics, and mischief!

-- Then we have the Scions!

First, we have Thancred who's Self-Assured, Loyal, and a Perfectionist (since he works himself so harshly!) He likes acting, writing, violin, piano, fitness, wellness, singing, and gaming

Next we have his adopted daughter Ryne. She's an Over-Achiever and Adventurous! She's seeking Inner-Peace and likes wellness, fitness, singing, handiness (since she crafts ammo for her Dad!), gardening, writing (and reading mainly) also gardening as well as musical stuff like piano, violin, dancing, and other things!

Then we have Minfilia (ugh), she's an Ambitious, Perfectionist, and Self-Assured who wants to be a jungle explorer since the scions wanna help and unify Eorzea. She likes writing, research and debate, and reading.

Then there's Alphinaud! He's a bookworm and perfectionist who wants to be a Friend of the World. He likes research and debate, as well as writing!

Plus there is Alphinaud's twin Alisae who's Good and Adventurous. She usually gets Self-Assured or Hot-Headed. She likes fitness, Extreme Sports such as Skiiing, snowboarding, and rock climbing! She also likes writing and debating!

Don't forget Urianger! He's a Bookworm, Genius, and Ambitious who wants to be a Renaissance Sim. He likes research and debate, robotics, and programming.

Y'shtola is also here! She's Proper, a Perfectionist, and Ambitious and wants to be the Spellcraft and Sorcerer! Again she likes research and debate, acting, and gardening for alchemy ingredients!

Finally we have G'raha Tia! He's Romantic, Genius, and Ambitious with the Nerd Brain. He likes cooking, baking, programming, gaming, and researching.

Then there's Jack Garland. He's a Loner, Self-Assured, and Athletic. I usually give him the custom career of Knight or Military. He likes fitness, rock climbing, and gaming.

Then there's the Yagami Detective Agency: Kaito is Hot-Headed, Self-Assured, and Good! He likes Fitness, Gaming, and Fishing with the bodybuilder aspiration!

Then there's Yagami! He's got the city native aspiration as a Self-Assured, Genius, and Ambitious! He likes a lot from programming, robotics, gaming, research and debate, handiness, and photography!!

im replaying ff15 and im doing the ff14 quest because i want catboy noctis but then i thought about what races the chocobros would be and what class

noctis, miqo'te + summoner, machinst, samurai, ninja, paladin (im taking in account of the weapons he can also use in base game which is any of the bros weapons so im taking in the mixture of those abilities and his ability to summon the gods with their completed trials also considering that i think insomnia would be its own aetheryte crystal too + noctis his own role with prince and his ability to take on any job)

Yeah. Any Ignis x ffxiv fan should know that the m!elezen sleep animation is the funniest best. And bnuuy Prompto would've been too powerful indeed 😔

But actually I think hyur fits Prom really well! Seeing Prompto's origins / ties to the Niflheim empire and how Niflheim in FFXV is analogous to the Garleans, it fits imo. And what are Garleans if not aether-deficient hyurs?

Always thinking of you

The hour was late, and the passengers of the flying ship had gone to sleep. Aside from the captain, and a few deck hands that kept the winds leading them to their destination.

Quietly leaving the vessels cabin, the nocturnal feline summoner made his way towards the deck and to ships railing. The night left him feeling anxious, wanting to move and explore, and learn the tales of all the stars and constellations. The aether he wielded at his fingertips sparked, wanting to taste the magic in the air. Wanted to sing, and dance under the stars with the warmth of his pillar of comfort.

But..that couldn't happen.

Sadly, deep blue eyes gazed heavenward. Those shining stars that twinkled like a canopy of gems reminded him of his beloved, and the one who he had to keep away from...for now. The miqo'te cast his gaze from the stars, and down at the simple ring on his hand. The gem shimmering in the moonlight. The glow reflecting on it made it seem like it was forged from Menphina's ice itself.

"Ignis...." Are you gazing at the same sky as I am right now?

For the last few years they had to be separated because of conflicts, and of course the mad man chasing him down, and his father being influenced by an Aeon... Ignis had agreed to stay behind and play the part of loyal tracker for the Caelum family. However, before the miqo'te had run away he and Ignis had run to the temple and had their bonding ceremony. Their rings able to connect them...even when far apart.

"Wherever you are...I'll always come to your side'...that's what you told me, right Ignis?" Closing his eyes he pictured his beloved Elezen, lifting his hand up to kiss the cool gem. He craved the white mages touch, the comforting and familiar presence that came with him there. Hungered for the fire and heat that rumbled beneath that cool and aloof facade, and sharp green eyes the color Nophica's forests. His tail twitched with remembrance, but sadly ...nothing would come of it. 'Ignis...are you thinking of me too?'

Sighing, he leaned against the railing, looking back up at the lovers moon. "O wide open midnight sky, please Carry my voice aloft Far away where she waits Lover's moon"

Closing his eyes he sang the song his mother had taught him, and hoped that Menphina could carry this love of his to his husband.

Miles away, standing alone in the amphitheater of Gridania, the Elezen mage gazed up at the constellations he and his beloved had memorized hundreds of times in their youth. Remembering those sad blue eyes that had gazed at him before running, it made his heart ache. Silently he removed his gloved left hand, and gazed at the ring that stood out against his damaged flesh. The scars and poorly healed burns contrasted against the simple beauty of his wedding ring, ugliness could not even ruin its image.

Picturing his bonded, he lifted his hand up to kiss the band reverently. 'Noctis...I love you...always.'

Looking up at the moon, a lovers moon if Noctis had told him correctly he smiles...and when a soft, warm breeze rushed through the canopy of trees the light brush against his face felt like a soft caress. Bringing the memories of their only night together, shy and passionate. The kisses that he would always think back on in the lonely nights, and the echoes of a soft voice calling his name. Thinking of all these he smiled, clenching his hand. "Darling Noctis, please...wait a little longer...I'll be with you soon."

He had to shake away the trackers sent by a mad man who wanted to syphon Noctis' powers. To kill the ones who followed him like blood hounds, and to find a place that they could live together in peace. Just them...away from the world.

For now though, he could take comfort in knowing that Noctis was safe..even if his heart longed to hold him. They shared the same sky. Their souls bonded by the vows of the ceremony, and the love that strengthened in their youth to now. No matter how far apart they will feel one another, and shall always be a hearts wish away to go to their lovers side.

FFXIV is about to release patch 5.4, so to celebrate I put Ignis in his Elezen costume again, only I added some Elezen ears and a longer hairstyle to change things up 

( I love almost every single Elezen man in FFXIV so this is massive self indulgence)

So finally posting this :D first thing for folks who don't know 14 terms for this cat Noct and bun Prom wedding thing:

Noct's a cat boy, Prom's a bunny boy (they're taller than the cats so Prom gets to be taller than Noct), Iggy is basically an elf, Gladio is basically like an orc but fleshy coloured not the green kind there is a green version in 14 though

Glams transform your clothing to look like something else and the fifth umbral moon is october :)

Anyhow story's under the cut enjoy :) also legit look up eternal bonding stuff it can be super extra and cheesy:

The miqo'te prepares for the biggest day in his life, the eternal bonding ceremony. His eternal bonding ceremony to be specific.

He styles his dark locks, slicks his bangs off his face and makes sure his fur on his tail and ears aren't sticking up. Ignis would kill him if he showed up looking like a mess.

Noctis bites his lip, careful of his little fangs. Last thing he wants is to draw blood.

He adjusts his black suit a little, he's normally used to the black leather cape his job brings him. Feels weird not having a familiar weight of his scythe on his back.

"How do I look?" he asks the elezen man nearby, Ignis.

"Rather lovely. You scrub up nicely." Ignis replies.

Noctis turns to face him, resting a hand on his hip.

"We don't all wear fancy glamours, Iggy."

Ignis rolls his eyes and stands up, heading over to adjust Noctis' suit jacket.

"Looking my best leaves a good first impression vs being covered in gore."

Noctis pouts. One time he did it. He thought he'd be fine. He was terribly mistaken.

Ignis walks away when he's pleased and looks at Noctis.

"Do you have everything you need? Wouldn't want to get half way there before remembering you forgot something important."

"Yes mother, I have everything." Noctis replies, he smirks.

"...You left the fishing gear behind right?"

Noctis winces.

"Maybe I have my bait, clothes and rod…"

"Noctis you won't have time." Ignis sighs.

Noctis empties out his inventory and leaves his fishing gear at the house.

The boys share a home together, they're a group: the chocobros.

Well FC or free company really. Fcs tend to get big homes (if they can afford it) to house all the party members plus it's cheaper than buying a home yourself.

At first, the free company was just three of them: Gladio a huge Paladin roegadyn he's known since he was a kitten and Ignis a tall ninja elezen who he's also known since he was a kitten.

Prompto joined their group five years ago. A viera refugee from Garlemald, fleeing from the cold empire. He'd fled to Noctis' home city, Limsa Lominsa and Ignis found the male viera roaming around lost near the docks.

After showing the then teenager around, he'd done a few quests and dungeons with the group, building a fast friendship with Noctis.

He was a sage, their group needed a healer. So eventually Noctis invited him to join their company, they grew closer and closer over time and the rest as they say is history.

They've been a couple for a few years now and recently just after the fifth umbral moon, Noctis proposed.

He'd picked up goldsmithery just to craft it with his own hands. He'd crafted two just in case Prompto said yes and to his relief the viera had through happy tears.

They'd received their blessings from the twelve and had them engraved. Right now the rings were at the chapel in the east shroud waiting for them.

Noctis adjusted his wristlet, Promise of devotion. They'd gone for the platinum plan. It was a once in a lifetime thing and Noctis thought they deserved the highest package.

"Are you ready?" Ignis asks.

"More than ready."

They take Noctis' mount, a four seater car: Regalia type G. It's personally Noctis' favourite.

Ignis sighs on more than one occasion as he tells Noctis repeatedly to keep his eyes forward but the miqo'te is far too excited. Truly it's a miracle he doesn't crash.

The moment they reach outside of the chapel, they can vaguely see Prompto and Gladio in the distance, waiting. It looks like they're chatting.

Both in suits, Prompto's pure white and a light yellow flower crown around his head. Unlike Noctis he didn't dye the outfit and Gladio in a black and white best man suit with his fanciest black shoes.

Noctis practically launches himself out of the car mount, rushing forward before Ignis barely has the chance to get out before Noctis makes the mount disappear.

"Do try not to rush. Your groom wouldn't want you to faceplant."

"I'm fine!" Noctis calls back practically sprinting over to the blonde.

Ignis can't find it in himself to tell Noctis off again. He's never seen someone so excited for eternal bonding. Granted it's the first ceremony he's been invited to.

Prompto grins and rushes over to meet Noctis, pulling him in for a hug when the miqo'te gets close enough. He almost swings him around. Almost.

"You look amazing." he mutters to him.

Noctis looks up at him and smiles.

"You too."

The viera looks down at him and tears up. He smiles and kisses his head.

"I promised myself I wouldn't cry yet." he mutters.

"If it makes you feel better, my dad's probably gonna cry before we even speak."

Noctis lets go of Prompto and looks around.

"Where is he anyway?"

"Guest area." Gladio speaks up. "He's in there with Cor and everyone else."

"Dad called my linkpearl before you got here. Said your dad's already in tears." Prompto sniffles. "'Nea, Cindy and Luna's in there too."

"Plus Iris and my old man and Iggy's uncle." Gladio adds. "He keeps asking how you two are having your bonding ceremony before me."

Noctis snorts and looks over at Ignis who's turned a slight shade of red.

"Yeah, when's the ceremony?" Prompto teases.

Ignis adjusts his glasses while Gladio turns a shade of red.

"I'll get round to it." the roegadyn mutters.

Ignis clears his throat.

"Gladio. We should head to the guest room."

Gladio nods, taking tickets out for the pair. He heads over to a lady and hands them in.

"Don't keep your guests waitin'." he says before him and Ignis are teleported to the guest room.

Noctis and Prompto share a look, one of nervousness and happiness. They grab each other's hand and squeeze before letting go moments later.

"You ready?" Prompto asks.

Noctis heads forward pulling out his ticket, Prompto follows.

"More than ready."

With that the pair disappear. They're teleported to separate rooms specially for the grooms in this case.

Noctis double checks over himself. He's handed a bell by a ceremony concierge and told to ring it when he's ready.

Noctis stares at the bell and smiles before deciding to ring it. He closes his eyes as he teleports.

He appears at the doors in a flash. The first thing he sees when he opens his eyes is his handsome viera husband, well future husband.

He smiles and grabs Prompto's hands. Prompto gives his hands a squeeze and the miqo'te feels himself melting.

There's orange and yellow flowers wrapped around arches, littered in pews and in pots on pillars near the entrance of the room. They're almost as bright as Prompto. Almost.

He gives him a look of fondness which Prompto returns before letting go of his hands.

The duo slowly walk down the aisle together, taking quick glances at each other and finding themselves smiling at the other.

They zone out from what the moogle says to them.  Focusing on each other until two other moogles summon their rings.

The rings float, a bright white orb coming off them.

Noctis holds out a hand and one ring floats over to him. He turns his hand over and watches the orb float and brings his other hand close.

Prompto holds out his hand ready as Noctis sends the orb over to him. He feels somewhat emotional watching it go over to the viera.

It floats over to Prompto's ring finger and in a flash, the ring appears on his finger. Prompto finds himself smiling as he holds out his hand for the other orb.

 He copies what Noctis did while Noctis holds his hand out waiting for the ring. 

Prompto feels himself beaming as he watches the orb float over to Noctis' hand and turn into a ring once it reaches his ring finger.

The duo stare at their rings with pure delight before flashing them at the moogle behind the altar. It's a weird tradition that's never gone away.

The moogle pronounces them as husbands and spins around, magic coming off the creature. For a second it gains see-through wings before they disappear.  

Noctis startles for a second as crystal-like wings sprout from his back. The same happens to Prompto too and he looks just as surprised to Noctis' relief.

The duo float up, Prompto reaching for Noctis' arms as he does.  Noctis lets him, wanting a grounding touch as well.

"Surprised they didn't give us a warning." Prompto whispers, making Noctis snort.

"Would have been nice huh?"

They float up to a huge window and lean forward, sharing their first kiss as a married couple. It's a little scary being up so high but weirdly romantic if not a little cheesy.

They hear their friends and family clap. Gladio whistling and Ignis saying something to him but honestly it's hard to hear.

The moment they part and float down, Noctis sees his dad sobbing tears of joy and Cor awkwardly rubbing his back.

He smiles and gives Prompto's hand a squeeze.

"He's probably gonna cry more after we leave on the chocobo huh?" Noctis mutters.

"100%" Prompto kisses his cheek.
