Considering the 2023 trip less than optimal due to weather, travel and health issues, we returned to Chester mid-March 2024. Tuesday started sunny and forecast to be the best of the week (with no snow) we circumnavigated the city walls. 🕸️ Kirumi regresses to around 0-3 and is a very relaxed baby

🕸️ Kirumi perfers to nap and watch calm cartoons than play even with other tinies

🕸️ Even when she plays with the other littles she’s not very active

🕸️ The older littles still include her even if she doesn’t “actually” play

🕸️ Miu became her caregiver after witnessing her regression and feeling some sort of responsibility (which is rare for her)

🕸️ Miu becomes more attentive when Kirumi is small but she’s prone to making small mistakes like not checking up on her often

Chess

This chess board (2300 BC) made of stone with terracotta pieces was discovered at Lothal, Gujarat, India. There are many like it unearthed in later excavations across Indus Valley Civilisation.

Chess is one of the oldest games that is still around today. Although no one knows the exact location where the game came from, there seems to be a consensus that game originated in India more than 1300 years ago.

Over the course of centuries, chess has become undisputed queen of all board games.

It has been subject to more exhaustive analysis. It has had more books and articles written about it than all rest of board games put together.

It was once calculated that on a worldwide basis, an average of more than one book a day is published on some aspect of game or another. 

In more than one country, chess is regarded as national game. Those who play at elite levels can earn large sums in prize money and receive many special privileges.

They are considered just as much as a celebrity as baseball and basketball players in the United States or best soccer players in Europe or South America.

Modern game of chess, however, bears little relation to original game invented in India. That game was called chaturanga, a Sanskrit word that literally means “four limbs.”

This word refers to elephants, horses, chariots, and foot soldiers, four components of an army in those days.

From India, the game made its way to Persia, where it was known as chatranj.

Persia was later invaded by Arabs who quickly took this new game and became the first people to study and play it in a scientific way.

After Moors (as Arabs were known in Europe) had conquered Spain, they introduced the game there, and from Spain, chess spread north into France.

It was very popular among the Vikings, who may well have learned the game from the Persians, with whom they had trade links.

Vikings were probably responsible for introducing chess into much of northwest mainland Europe and into the British Isles.

As the game spread from the Middle East to Europe, the names and character of the pieces and moves were changed to adapt to the different cultures.

The Persian “shah” acquired the name “king” and shahmat (translated: “the shah is helpless”) became checkmate.

The “vizir” – or counselor - who occupied a position next to the shah, became the queen.

Elephants and their use as instruments of war were practically unknown in Europe; the piece underwent several changes until it eventually became the modern bishop.

This is not so strange as it may appear at first. In the Middle Ages, bishops often combined their religious duties with more warlike behavior.

It was easy to identify the original horse with the knight who fought on horseback. The baidag (foot solider) has remained more or less unchanged as the pawn.

The last piece, the original chariot, has become the modern castle or rook, but how this metamorphosis took place remains something of a mystery.

Some experts seem to think the rook symbolizes the howdah on the back of the elephant (from which the archer’s arrows were loosed).

If that is true, it was the chariot that somehow became the modern bishop.

In its early form, chess was a slow and ponderous game, particularly in its opening phases, but toward the end of the Middle Ages, important changes were made in the rules governing the moves of the queen and bishop.

The queen, formerly the humble counselor with severely limited powers, became the most versatile and influential piece on the board.

The powers of the bishop were also considerably increased and pawns were allowed to move two squares instead of one on the opening move.

These changes not only increased the tempo of the game, they also changed entire strategy. Opening moves became much more important for they now had a more decisive effect on outcome of game. 

The end of the 15th century marked completion of these changes. Since then, game has in effect remained unchanged.

Charlie has a myriad of pets at Lucifer’s castle, and you cannot tell me otherwise. I’m talking: lions, tigers, AND bears. Oh. My. She has a fuckin pink and purple elephant, rainbow fish (like the one from that kids book), every bred of dog you could imagine, she has a wolf, a cheetah, EVERYTHING. Razzle, Dazzle, and KeeKee were the only ones she could bring with her.

And she loves them all.

When parents are too busy to help take care or babysit extra kids, which aunties and uncles do the parents call? Do the parents have a specific order of aunties and uncles they call if they need help?

for junseo, the nursery is a gentle sky dream—walls washed in baby blue, fluffy cloud decals drifting over his crib, the softest light flooding in every morning, making his world glow. there are plush toys tucked into every corner—pale bears and elephants, a cloud mobile spinning lazily above his head. his little feet kick, toes curling on the shaggy rug as you sing, “who’s my sleepy cloud boy?” and he giggles, hands flapping, cheeks like peaches. in the armchair by the window, you and jeno curl together for midnight feeds, jeno’s hand tracing patterns on junie’s back while you hum lullabies and kiss your bubba’s head. every drawer is neat, tiny socks and onesies folded into rows, and there’s always a fresh stack of bedtime books—“again, mama?” he babbles, clinging to your shirt, eyes wide with hope. when jeno scoops him up, it’s always, “dada up, up!” and soft giggles as he’s spun in the gentle morning light.

for serin, her nursery is a pink wonderland—walls dusted in blush, tiny gold stars glinting above her crib, a canopied corner where she twirls her dolls. fairy lights flicker warm every night, turning the room into a castle. she wakes with messy pigtails and sleep-crumpled cheeks, stretching her arms out, “mama, princess awake!” you carry her to the window seat where she counts butterflies and tells her bear secrets, her voice a hushed whisper, “bear, keep my dreams safe.” serin’s shelves are lined with tiny shoes, pastel bows, and the softest blankies—she loves to choose her outfit, holding up dresses, declaring, “this one, i be sunshine girl!” sometimes, she crawls into your lap while you fold laundry, patting your cheek, “my best mama.” at night, you smooth her hair and she grins, “kiss, kiss, mama—love you too much!” her room always feels like a soft secret—a place for wishes, for giggles, for endless sleepy snuggles tucked into rose-colored sheets.

when the parents are too busy—who’s on babysitting duty?

there’s a whole baby-approved ranking for who gets the first call, and every family has their favorite auntie or uncle. sometimes it depends on which little one needs the most comfort, and sometimes it’s just about who lives closest or who has the best snacks.

haeun is pure sunshine, a yellow tutu in motion, giggling as she spins for whoever will watch—though her favorite audience is always auntie karina, jeno, or yn. “auntie karina, braid my hair, pwease? i wanna be flower princess!” she beams, eyes wide as karina loops her hair into ribbons and slips daisies behind her ear, always whispering, “now you’re my brightest star.” when they do their “fashion show,” haeun twirls, skirt fanning out, cheeks glowing, and squeals, “look, look! we match!”—so proud she nearly falls over. at yn’s house, she climbs right onto jeno’s lap, arms stretched, “read me story, daddy two!” (her secret name for him), and jeno just melts, holding her close. in the kitchen, y/n lets her scatter glitter sprinkles over pancakes, and they giggle, “sparkle pancakes for breakfast! more, more!” sometimes she whispers, “auntie y/n, you my best girl,” hugging her waist so tight it nearly knocks her over. but it’s karina who gets the final sleepy cuddles, haeun pressing her nose to her shoulder, “love you so big, auntie. can i wear my yellow dress forever?” every day with them, she’s dancing—making dresses (as haeun helps her with designs) swirling in soft light, all her favorite people loving her right back, each in their own gentle, perfect way.

junie and serin spend a lot of time at mark and areum’s—because for them, chaeun isn’t just a cousin, she’s their “bubba sister,” and mark and areum feel like a second set of parents. most afternoons, you’ll find the two girls squeezed together under a pile of soft blankets, chaeun’s little hand curled around serin’s pinky as they whisper secrets (“we make pwomise, no boys allowed!”), and junie shuffling cards with mark, both giggling as mark pretends to lose every game. when the grown-ups need backup, it’s usually chenle, ningning, or shotaro who answer the call—chenle’s chaos fills the house (“uncle chenle, do silly voice!” serin squeals, and he cackles right back), ningning brings a sparkling trail of stickers and glitter (“look, aunty, i make you rainbow!” serin beams), and shotaro breaks out the living room dance party, twirling junie so high he shrieks, “again, again, uncle taro!” sometimes, you catch serin perched on ningning’s lap, demanding “blue nails, please, sparkly!” while junie tugs at shotaro’s sleeve, begging for another spin, the room pulsing with giggles, hugs, and the kind of love that only grows bigger the more it’s shared.

chaeun spends so much time at jeno and yn’s, always running down the hallway shouting, “uncle daddy, i here! auntie mommy, cuddle me!” she squeezes between them on the sofa, burrows under yn’s arm with her bunny in one hand and serin in the other, her best friend and partner in every bit of mischief. sometimes she and serin sneak into the pantry, whispering, “shh, secret snack time,” before giggling so loud they give themselves away, and you’ll find them a tangle of limbs and laughter in a pillow fort, “this our castle, no boys!” when bedtime comes, chaeun curls into yn’s lap and mumbles, “auntie mommy, sing the star song, pwease,” her eyelids fluttering as she’s lulled to sleep, or she’ll tug jeno’s sleeve, demanding, “uncle daddy, piggyback!”—her safe place always, no matter where she lands. every goodbye ends with a bear hug, a sticky kiss, and the vow, “serin, you my sissy for all the days!” the house feels just a little brighter, a little softer, every time her laughter drifts through. she also loves auntie karina and ryujin. she’s still tiny, but her eyes go wide for karina (“auntie, pwease read me princess book!”), and she’s always drawn to ryujin’s calm hugs and shotaro’s soft songs. “auntie ryujin, i sleepy, cuddle?” she’ll yawn, and ryujin will wrap her in a blanket, nose pressed to her hair, whispering, “sweetest bubba, time for dreams.”

carpool chaos: if parents are running late, it’s a parade—jeno might scoop all the kids into the back of his big car (“seatbelts, bubbas!”), and serin always claims, “i ride in the middle with my besties!” sometimes, areum or chenle runs the drop-off, and if it’s raining, everyone fights over who gets to share auntie ningning’s polka dot umbrella. “hold tight!” ningning calls, as six little hands grip her coat.

morning giggle pile: on mornings when all the families have sleepovers—usually at yn and jeno’s, because their house smells like pancakes and their beds are “the biggest ever”—the day begins with a full-on giggle pile in the living room. serin always wakes up first, tiptoeing to wake chaeun and junie with the promise of “cartoons and warm toes!” before long, haeun’s crawling under the blankets, squealing, “make room for me!” soon there’s a jumble of tangled hair, bunny plushies, and sleepy, crumpled pajamas, all whispering secrets (“you my best friend forever,” “no, you my best friend!”). sometimes, they make yn and jeno play “baby mountain”—the grown-ups have to stay still while all the bubbas climb on top and declare, “we the kings and queens now!”

cousin choir chaos: during pickup on special days—like the last day of school or before a holiday—the whole cousin crew forms a “cousin choir” in the car, led by junie on his ukulele (strumming one proud chord over and over), while serin and chaeun bang on snack boxes for drums and haeun belts out “twinkle twinkle, but make it rock and roll!” every red light is a chance for a new verse, and when they get home, the whole group tumbles out, arms linked, singing their anthem at the top of their lungs. parents just shake their heads, already planning the next group photo, and someone always says, “how did we get so lucky with these wild, wonderful bubbas?”

do all the cousins have a shared hobby, sport, or class?

they’re a wild mix—junie is a gentle artist, serin wants to do everything, chaeun adores music and playing teacher like her daddy, haeun lives for ballet. but every saturday, the whole gang goes to a “creative explorers” class—a blend of art, baby music, dance, and movement for all ages, run by two very patient teachers.

haeun comes in her yellow tutu, beaming, “i twirl first, ‘kay?”

junie packs his sketchbook, shy but proud, “i draw my family today, see?”

serin brings sparkly markers and tries to direct the show: “i’m in charge! everyone, follow me!”

chaeun waddles after her, holding a tiny maraca, “shaky, shaky, bubba style!”

sometimes, they stage impromptu performances for all the parents. “watch us! clap, clap!” serin orders, and the adults fill the room with cheers, while the babies bow and giggle, proud as peacocks.

how do pick ups and drop offs work?

morning routines are their own little traditions.

jeno and y/n always arrive early to collect their little ones from mark and areum’s, because somehow, no matter how long they stay, it’s never enough for serin and chaeun. as soon as jeno lifts serin into his arms, she wraps herself around his neck, sniffling, “no, daddy, more play! want sissy, want sissy!” her face is red and splotchy, and chaeun, still clutching serin’s hand, buries her face in areum’s shoulder, wailing, “don’t go, best sissy, come my house, pwease!” it’s a tear-stained chorus of, “five more minutes! more hugs, more play, pleeease!”even after a hundred kisses and promises to visit tomorrow, the girls won’t let go, clutching each other with tiny fists, both of them sobbing as if their hearts might break. jeno has to gently peel serin’s hands from chaeun’s pajamas, all while yn strokes her hair and whispers, “we’ll see sissy soon, bubba, i promise, you’re so brave.” mark kneels to press a soft kiss to serin’s forehead, “love you, love you, all the way home,” while areum rocks a trembling, hiccuping chaeun, brushing her cheeks and singing, “shh, baby, sissy will call before bed.”in the car, serin cries so hard she can barely breathe, choking out, “sissy, sissy, miss my sissy!” until her little voice goes quiet and she falls asleep, cheeks still wet. at home, areum carries chaeun from window to window, showing her the moon and whispering, “wave to sissy, she’s waving too,” until the sobs slow and chaeun hiccups, “night-night, sissy, see you ‘morrow.” nothing soothes the ache like the promise of tomorrow—because in their world, love means never wanting to say goodbye, not even for a single night.

mark and areum. the morning is a cloud of lilac and giggles, areum kneeling on the soft rug as she slips chaeun’s arms into her favorite tulle dress—lavender layered over white, tiny sparkles dancing every time she moves. “look, mama, i twirl so pretty!” chaeun sings, spinning so the skirt floats up like a flower, cheeks rosy and lips pouted in concentration as she peeks down at her dress, smoothing it with soft, careful hands. areum brushes her hair with gentle strokes, whispering, “my soft bubba, almost done,” and chaeun sits as still as she can, big eyes shining, only her toes tapping against the floor, knees hugged to her chest, just a little bounce in her seat. “pretty, mama? do i look like a real princess?” she asks, voice soft as petals, and when areum tucks a lilac bow behind her ear, chaeun beams, dimples popping, “thank you, mama! my hair is so nice, i love you the most.” she pats her buns to check, careful not to mess them, and waits patiently for her sparkly shoes, wiggling her fingers. when mark calls, “ready, bunny?” she jumps up, clutches her lovey and twirls once more, twinkling, “sissy gonna say ‘wow’ when she sees me!” on the way out, she holds areum’s hand tight, bouncing, “can i bring flower bracelet for sissy? she likes purple, too!” her heart is gentle, her patience all soft sighs and shy smiles, every step brimming with joy at being someone’s best girl, someone’s sissy.

karina and chenle—carpool kings. karina always remembers the extra snacks, chenle is DJ, and all the kids scream-laugh to his playlist. “louder, uncle chenle!” they cheer. ryujin and shotaro—they do the calm drop-offs. ryujin braids everyone’s hair, shotaro does quiet pep talks: “you’re gonna shine today, bubbas.”

after school, it’s always a competition for who gets picked up first—serin often rushes the gate, “my daddy here! beat you, junie!” and chaeun hugs mark’s legs, “missed you, dada!” sometimes they all pile into one car and finish the afternoon playing in someone’s backyard, trading snacks and secrets.

age gaps:

serin and the newest baby boy lee: nearly two years apart—serin is protective, sometimes bossy, sometimes soft, sometimes jealous, always ready to cuddle her “tiny bro-bro.”

chaeun and the newest baby girl lee: about three to four years apart—chaeun takes her “big sissy” role seriously, helping with bottles, rocking the crib, whispering, “shhh, i got you, baby.”

bubba love and daily magic:

every cousin, auntie, and uncle has their own flavor of love.

serin and chaeun: “let’s dress up!” serin declares, pulling out the tiara for both. “we’re princess besties!” chaeun nods, “princess bubba, kiss attack!” they squeal, rolling in ribbons and lace.

junie and mark: “uncle mark, help me draw a dragon!” “sure, bed bug, let’s make it fly.” later, mark lifts him up, “big hug for the best artist.”

haeun and karina: “auntie, braid me like a sunflower?” “of course, sunshine. you light up my heart.”

all together: “hug circle!” serin shouts, and in a pile of limbs and giggles, the cousins fall over each other, shouting, “love you, besties, love you so much!”

at the end of every wild day, there’s always a parent—daddy or mama, auntie or uncle—ready to scoop them up, shower them in kisses, and remind them, “you are loved, you are magic, you are my heart.” and every bubba, sleepy and smiling, knows it’s true.

Does your ludwig have a stuffed animal to sleep with? If so, what animal is it?

I have a stuffed elephant that I’ve had for forever, and I still sleep with it :>

He does! His usual/main stuffed animal is a "regular" Teddybear (that he got from Bowser somewhere in the first week of being in his castle). But he actually has a whole arsenal of plushies and stuffed animals.

It's almost "You need one, Ludwig got one."

It's just that he keeps them a secret from everyone... (Untill two people eventually find out...~)

He also definitely has a collection of plushies of himself and his family. I really like the idea of the royal Koopa family having plushies of themselves that are sold throughout the entire kingdom/throughout all of Darklands.

So, he has either bought this collection of everyone, himself. Or, perhaps Iggy and Larry got Ludwig that specific collection...

"Guys, what I am supposed to be meditating about?" Asked a thirteen years old human boy as he whispered.

His name was Finn, he had white skin and blonde hair which was hidden by a white hat that resembled a bear. He was wearing black shoes with white socks, dark blue shorts, a blue shirt with short sleeves, and he was carrying a green backpack.

"Don't know." Surprisingly a yellow dog replied. "I'm thinkng of pillows stuffed with spaghetti."

His name was Jake, he was a magical talking dog who could walk in two legs. He had yellow fur, floppy ears and two cute big eyes.

Finn and Jake were also brothers.

"Pillows stuffed with what?" A third voice asked, wondering if they heard wrong.

That person was you.

You, like Finn, were a human. You were wearing brown boots with black socks, gray jeans, a white shirt with short sleeves, a duffle hooded jacket of your favorite color, and you were carrying a leather satchel.

"With spaghetti." Jake replied again.

You felt a hand on the top of your head before you could say anything else.

"Clear your minds."

"Right! Sorry, Princess." You said while she was doing the same with Finn and Jake.

Her name was Princess Bubblegum, she had pale pink skin and long pink hair, long enough it reached her ankles. She was wearing casual pink yoga pants and shirt, pink shoes, a hot pink cardigan sweater, and a golden crown with a blue gem.

Princess Bubblegum, PB for short, had invited you and the boys to meditated with her in her castle.

Apparently, meditating helped you become stronger in a spiritual way.

While Finn complaining that it was "boring", you and Jake were all for it.

You don't know how Jake feels, but you were a little stressed.

Last week, you, Finn, and Jake, were on a mission to rescue Hot Dog Princess's knights from a maze they got lost in.

The three of you found them easily and were about to get out, but one of the knights said something about a magical creature that granted wishes in the center of the maze.

You weren't interested, but the two boys were, they both seemed to have the same wish.

The ancient psychic tandem war elephant.

In the end you all entered the labyrinth to find those wishes and, to not get lost, Jake has tied his legs to something and start to stretch.

You may wonder, how was that possible? Well, that's because Jake had shapeshifting powers! He could change into anything he wanted… but it seems that even he had limits.

The deeper you went into the maze, the more he stretched and the more he stretched, the smaller he became.

You tried to stop him, but he wasn't listening.

You finally arrived at the center of the maze, where you guys found what seemed to be a mud snake.

You thought one of the knights was going to wish for Jake to be okay... but you forgot they were... slow. One of them wished for a box while the other literally exploded.

Poor Jake was so disoriented that he ended up wishing for a sandwich. That left you and Finn.

You were going to make your wish and save Jake, but it seemed like the snake was enjoying watching him die and said it was Finn's turn, so you couldn't do anything.

You knew how much he wanted to wish for the elephant, you were about to tell him that you can wish the elephant for him, so that he could save his brother, but it seemed that he had other plans.

He wished for the elephant and began to communicate with him telepathically.

And apparently because the elephant was there, he was also granted a wish and ended up wishing for everyone to be healed.

And with that Jake and the knights were okay, then the elephant took all of you home.

You still had a wish, but you didn't use it yet, you just kept it in a jar and hid it in your closet.

The snake had said that there were no do-overs.

You expected today to be a relaxing day.

You took a deep breath and tried to clear your mind, but all that effort went out the window as PB gasped in fear.

"I have to go check on something!"

"Can we go with?" Finn asked.

"Perhaps you are ready to go with." PB answered after a few seconds.

"Are you sure, princess?" You asked. "We can stay here if you want."

"Yes, i'm sure."

"Alright." You said as Finn and Jake bumped their fists.

"Guys, you'll need to put these on." PB said as she took off a pair of earrings from her ears.

After putting each earring, which were apparently also tiaras, on Finn and Jake's heads, she removed a necklace from her neck and put it on yours.

Everything around you turned a transparent blue for a second.

"Neat." You heard Jake say.

Then PB touched the gem on her crown and then a transparent blue bubble surrounded her head.

Oh, so that's what happened a second ago.

"Stay close to me." PB said before clapping her hands.

Then her butler, Peppermint, appeared and blew a very large bubble, big enough for the four of you to get inside and once inside the bubble began to float upwards, up to the tree on the top of the castle.

"At the heart of this tree is an ancient evil, held in a prison of amber…" You gave PB your full attention.

The bubble burst once you reached your destination.

"The Lich."

You gasped at what was before you.

There, trapped in amber, was the Lich.

The first thing you noticed were its horns, they resembled those of a goat, the left one was intact while the right one was broken.

Then you looked at it's face, it had horrific green lights as pupils peering out of its empty eye sockets, and pale undead skin pulled tight against its noseless skull. Its skin is frayed away from its lips revealing a wicked and perpetual grin. Its arms are bare bones with various decayed tissues, showing off its skeletal hands. It was wearing loose robe with multiple layers and a large cape that is severely torn at its end.

You had never seen anything like this, not even in the three years you were in the land of Ooo.

"Jesus christ." You whispered.

And if that wasn't enough, you started hearing things, they sounded like meaningless whispers.

"What's that sound?" Finn asked as you looked around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from.

"He is casting spells… trying to get in your head and control your bob, but these gems are protecting our minds from his influence." PB said making you touch the necklace she gave you. "If we lost the gems, we'd be defenceless, he would have full control over us."

"That's freaking nuts." Finn exclaimed.

You stared at the Lich fow for a few seconds before looking back at PB.

"Beyond Iceberg Lake lies the ruins of the Lich's tower, where he was converting the planet's life-force into unholy power to destroy all of Ooo." PB explained. "But before he could, the Legendary Billy attacked him and pummeled him into the resin of this tree."

Billy, you remember meeting that guy, like, a few months ago.

Your train of thought come to a stop when you heard the sound of something breaking.

"Is it just me or do you guys also hear that?" You asked nervously.

"I thought i was the only one." Jake answered.

"I… what the nuts?!" PB screamed with fear.

You, Finn, and Jake, turned around and gasped in shock.

The Lich has escaped! But how?!

"Dude, be a big sword!" Finn told Jake, who did so without hesisation.

Finn then grabbed Jake and used him to hit the Lich… but it didn't work because he ended up escaping.

PB gasped and shout. "Quickly! To the other secret room!"

PB had taken the three of you to a room with a closet, a chest, and a window.

"There's only one know weapon that can harm the Lich…" PB said as she opened the closet. "The gauntlet of the hero."

Inside the closet was a large gray gauntlet with one eye, which was closed, on the back of the hand and a blue gem on the back of the wrist.

You've always wondered why Billy didn't have his gauntlet when you met him, it turns out it was here all the time.

PB put the gauntlet on your right hand and said. "You have but one chance. While the Lich isn't at full power, you must smite him with this."

"Cool." You said in amazement after witnessing the glove shrink to your size.

"His only desire is to destroy life." PB whispered while grabbing a crystal ball, the ball showed an underground entrance. "If you fail, he'll kill everyone." Now the ball was showing the Lich with fire in the background.

"No! That will not happen!" Finn declared as you nodded.

"That's right!"

PB smiled, then walked towards the chest and opened it. "Finn, this is for you, The Lich's lair is supposed to be cold. I just don't want you to get sick." She took out a pink sweater and gave it to him. "Take this sweater, I made it myself. I'm not great at knitting, but please wear it… I care about you, Finn."

"I love it." Finn replied after putting it on.

PB then hugged him, you and Jake didn't hesitate to join the hug.

Not a second later, the four of you were startled by the sound of the window opening.

All of you gasped.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

"Mothertrucker! You again?!" It was all you said the moment you realized who it was.

His name was Ice King, he was a crazy and annoying old wizard. He had pale blue skin, a long nose, long white hair and beard. He was wearing a dark blue robe and a golden crown with three red gems.

"So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and, well… gosh i'm so nervous."

"What the heck do you want?" You asked with annoyance.

He looked at you and asked. "Will you gave me your blessing so i can marry Princess Bubblegum?"

It took you a few seconds to comprehend what you had just heard and when you did it… you were furious.

"Not in a million years! Get out of here you old pig!" You yelled before running towards the window.

"What?! Why are you calling me that?!" He asked angrily.

You didn't even answer him, you just closed the window.

"No! Not the latch!"

"Quickly now, guys." PB said. "Track the Lich by his trail of death."

"Here i go!" Finn exclaimed before he started running.

"Oh no, you don't!" You interrupted and grabbed him by the back of his sweater. "You are going to stay here."

"What?! Why can't i go?!"

"I need you to protect the princess, Finn." You said. "You know how batshoot crazy the Ice King is, you need to stay here and make sure he doesn't kidnap her."

You weren't exaggerating, the Ice King was crazy, he was obsessed with marrying a princess to the point that he even kidnapped them.

And you may wonder, how can Finn, a thirteen years old boy, protect PB from Ice King, a wizard?

Well, that's because kicking the Ice King's ass is easier than one might think.

Yes, even to the point a thirteen years old could kick his ass.

"I guess you are right." Finn said quietly.

"Come one, Jake!" You shouted before running out of the room.

"Here i go!"

"Be safe." You heard PB say.

The two of you were running through the candy forest following the Lich's trail of death, which was not a difficult thing to do.

"Be honest with me, did you want Finn to protect PB or was that just a excuse so he won't come?" Jake asked.

"Actually is a little bit of both, if Finn is with the princess, he will protect her from the Ice King and he won't get close to the Lich." You answered. "is a win-win scenario!"

You knew Finn very well, you knew he could defend himself.

But if the Lich is as bad as PB says he is, you didn't want to risk the young boy getting hurt or worse.

"Running this fast makes my stomach hurt." Jake commented after you crossed a bridge.

"Come on, Jake!" You looked back at him, still running. "we are getting close to the-"

You couldn't finish what you were saying because you bumped into something.

When you looked up, you realized it wasn't something but someone.

"What the fuck, Ice King?!" You shouted before pushing him out of the way.

"Hey! Wait! I'm serious about Bubblegum."

Neither you nor Jake paid attention to him and kept running.

Suddenly, the Ice King began to float and got in front of you while saying. "Look, i wrote her name all over my arms and legs!"

"Aaaahh!" You and Jake started screaming in horror and disgust.

The Ice King showed the two of you his arms and legs which had written "Princess Bubblegum" all over them.

Forget the Lich, this was the most horrifying thing in the world!

You and Jake started running again, still screaming.

Ice King started following you. "It's not fair! She always hangs out with the three of you!" He looked at you and said. "And it's not like you want to marry her!"

"Of course i don't want to fucking marry her, you pig! She is almost three decades younger than me!" You yelled.

"Why do you keep following us?!" Asked Jake who was already getting tired of this, you shared that feeling.

"I told you already! I want your blessing so i can marry Princess Bubblegum!"

You and Jake just ignored him and kept running, hoping he would get tired of this and leave.

Of course that doesn't happen and now you're stuck inside an ice dome.

"Come on, give me permission to marry her. I'll… i'll-"

You interrupted him. "I have already told you! Not in a million years!"

"Oh, come on! If you bless our wedding, then maybe she'll really love me."

"I told you no, you idiot! Now get out of the way before I punch you!" You warned him.

"I will! When you bless our wedding!"

Without hesitation, you punched him in the face with the gauntlet.

Hey, you did warn him.

"Aaaahh! My nose!" He screamed in pain.

"Jake, get us out of here."

"I'm on it." Jake said as he shapeshifted his fist into a bigger fist and punching the ice walls.

Soon you and Jake found yourselves on a beach and ran towards the shore.

"Hey! This is the place Finn and I found you frozen!" Jake commented.

Once you were on the shore, Jake pointed to the lake and said. "There! Out over the lake!"

You could see the Lich rise from the water and start floating away from you.

"Jake, turn into a boat!" You told him.

"I'm your dinghy dog!"

You and Jake started following him but then you noticed that you were doing it very slowly.

"Jake, wait! I will see if can use this thing!" You shouted as you put the gauntlet in the water. "Now, how do I use this?" You asked yourself before tapping it with your left hand.

Suddenly, the eye on the gauntlet opened, revealing a green eye and a black triangular pupil, and shot a beam from the palm.

"Aaaahh!" You and Jake started screaming, not expecting that.

At least that helped! You and Jake were going faster now.

"We are getting closer!" Jake shouted.

"On the count of three!" You shouted before pulling the gauntlet out of the water and pointing it at the Lich.

"One… two… three!"

But before you could blast the Lich, the Ice King got in the way! And he had…

"Finn?! Princess?!" You shouted with horror in your eyes before poiting the gauntlet away from them and into the water. "No!"

You and Jake ended up being shooted to the sky.

"Oh, no." Ice King commented before he, PB, and Finn, ended up getting soaked. "Oh gross. This water stinks"

Once you and Jake were on the shore, you yelled so loudly that your throat hurt. "Ice King!!"

"Look! Look what you made me do to them!" He yelled as he showed you PB and Finn, who had their wrists frozen.

"I didn't made you do anything, you stupid son of a-!"

PB interrupted you. "Guys! Don't let the Lich reach his well of power!"

Before you or Jake could say anything, you heard an explosion going off.

"What is that?! "Finn asked alarmed.

"Oh no! He made it!" PB shouted.

"Princess, don't worry! We still got time!" You hoped you were right.

You and Jake started running and ended up finding an underground entrance.

"Hey, where are you guys going? What's going on?" Ice King asked.

You just ignored him and got inside.

Soon you and Jake found yourselves in a…

"A underground subway?" You asked in surprise while looking around and taking note of the skeletons on the ground.

"You were here before?" Jake asked.

"No, but i know what it is. We had these things back in my time… damn, I sound old saying that."

You suddenly heard something akin to someone shushing before the witnessing all of the skeleton getting up.

"Oh, fuck!" You cursed before activating the gauntlet and blasting all of them. "We don't have time for this."

"Then let's go." Jake said before he started running.

Before you could follow him, you felt something grabbing your satchel. You looked down and saw it was a skeleton.

"Oh hell no!" You yelled before stomping on its head, breaking its skull without problem.

You were next to Jake when you two felt the floor shake, you looked down and saw that it wasn't the floor, you were on top of a giant skeleton!

You, without thinking, activated the gauntlet and blasted it, unfortunately you accidentally also made a hole in the floor and the two of you fell down there.

You and Jake didn't stop screaming or falling but then you saw a pipe.

You grabbed Jake with your left arm and grabbed the pipe with the gauntlet before you two turned into pancakes.

Not far from you was another hole in the floor, you got closer to it and saw…

"The Lich." you whispered.

The Lich was in front of what appeared to be a well filled with… green stuff, for the lack of better word, and then dipped his hands there.

"He's getting his powers back. weird." Jake commented before climbing onto your back.

"Well, not for long." you whispered before blasting him.

Unfortunately, he dodged it.

You keep blasting him, but he keeps dodging.

You jumped down and started falling towards the Lich to blast him in the face.

But he grabbed you by the wrist, the one with the gauntlet.

"Oh, no." You said nervously.

The Lich got his face close to yours and brought his skeletal index finger to his non-existential lips.

He shushed and the gauntlet exploded.

You and Jake were in pure shock.

The Lich then grabbed Jake and threw him across the room.

"Jake!"

You tried to get the Lich to let go, but he grabbed you by the chin and made you look at him.

Your frightened eyes staring back at his empty eye sockets.

After the Lich finished examining you, that's what you think he was doing, he threw you to the other side of the room.

You ended up hitting the back of your head against the wall.

You lost consciousness for a couple of seconds but managed to stay awake.

"Ice King, let us go right now!"

You prayed to God for that not to be Finn, you prayed to God for that not to be Finn.

You looked up and saw Ice King with, yep, PB and Finn.

"You get to be kidding me!" You shouted angrily.

"Jake!" Finn screamed watching his brother dodge a green fireball thrown by the Lich.

Finn then hit the Ice King with his frozen wrists.

"Aaaahh! Why do people keep hitting my nose?!" Ice King screamed in pain and dropped Finn.

Once on the floor, Finn broke the ice on his wrists and ran to his brother.

"Jake, are you okay?!" Finn asked.

"That's it! I'm gonna bark him!" Jake exclaimed before grabbing his brother and using his shapeshifting powers to stretch towards the Lich.

This turned out to be a bad idea because the Lich ended up hitting him in the face with a fireball.

"No!" You and PB shouted.

Jake started falling with Finn under him.

You felt your heart stop at the sound of a gem breaking.

"Finn." You whispered watching the young boy get up… his eyes turning black with green pupils.

Finn clutched his head in pain and screamed. "Stop!"

He stopped after a few seconds and started walking towards… the well.

"No!" You shouted before standing up and running towards him.

You grabbed him by the back of his sweater and dragged him away from the well. Once you were away he tried to fight you, so you did the first thing that came to your mind.

You took out your necklace and put it on him.

Everything around you… turned black… and so very cold.

You looked around… but could see nothing but absolute darkness.

You felt so cold that you quickly pulled up the zipper of your jacket.

Then you heard an unknown voice calling your name.

You looked around and discovered it was the Lich.

"Aren't you cold?" He asked.

Yes… yes, you were cold.

"Walk into the well."

You tried not to do that, you really did, but you couldn't stop.

You started walking towards the well but then you felt something akin to arms grabbing you around the middle trying to stop you, but you were stronger so you kept walking although with a little difficulty.

Then you felt like you couldn't move anymore, you tried to move your legs but you couldn't.

You looked down but saw nothing.

What's happening?

You looked up and saw the Lich throw fire at you.

You tried to move but couldn't.

But the fire didn't do anything to you, it didn't even touch you.

You took note that the Lich seemed surprised.

Why?

Then the Lich started screaming.

He also started moving weird, from your point of view it seemed as if he was hitting himself against something.

Now he started laughing and laughing, to the point that it was causing you a headache.

Then he disappeared.

You gasped once everything was clear again and you could see again.

"Finn! Buddy!"

You saw Jake on the other side of the well with Finn on the ground over what seemed to be dust.

"Jake?" Finn asked before exclaiming. "Jake!"

"Finn!" You shouted. "Are you alright?!"

"Yes! I'm alright!" Finn replied with a smile and asked. "Are you alright?!"

"Yes!" You tried to go towards them, but you couldn't move your legs. "What the-"

You looked down and noticed that you were trapped in ice, from your feet to your knees.

"Why are my legs frozen?"

"Finn saved you!" Jake said.

"Finn! You did it!" PB exclaimed with a smile.

"We did?" Ice King asked. "Hey! Yeah, we did!"

That made you raise an eyebrow.

Did he actually do something or is he just talking nonsense?

"You guys! This experience has brought us all so much closer together." Ice King looked at PB and said. "Princess, I'm sorry for all of this. I love you, and I've decided to set you free!"

That made you sigh with relief.

Ice King melted the ice on PB's wrists and let her go. "Go free!"

"Noooooo!!!" You, Finn, and Jake, shouted in horror.

And why is that?

Because he dropped her into the fucking well!

"Whoops! I've got the dropsies!

None of you said anything, you didn't even insulted him.

You all just stared at the well.

Flufftober Day 13: Wrong place

Hi guys, thank you for staying tuned to my flufftober stories, with the prompts created by @flufftober. So this is something that I just wrote up for the past hour, but it is also written in Lucie's perspective, which I haven't really shown her in perspective or character, so I thought that I'd throw her into the mix with another character that I usually like to write a lot and just explore my characters relationship a bit. Anyways, I hope you enjoy today's story.

I take slow and steady steps towards the houses that bustles around in front of me. The city bustles about with people, all either chattering or going about their days on the stone filled road. The city itself is made out of stone. The houses look old. Or is there another word… Antique. And I slowly go through the streets. Mum and dad are busy talking to other people. I tried calling out to them a number of times without an answer. It is unusual and strange to say the least. My parents would never not answer me. Well, maybe my mum, at times, she’s a bit… Rough. But my dad… Seriously, what is happening…? And then I glimpse up. There’s a big castle. Like, the biggest one I’ve ever seen. Big brownish gray stones cobbled onto each other, and raising up forever higher and higher. I swear, it is so high that it’s making me hurt my neck, and then there’s a loud voice that starts to laugh. And just when I twist my head up,  

“Hey, stop right there!” And I froze onto place. The voice is harsh. Oh gosh… Is that mum…? And I glance up, and there’s a big gray elephant wearing steel armor with a red uniform… Oh, god… Did I just stumble into trouble…!? Especially since–  

“Harlow, relax.” And, oh, gosh…! From the neat clothes the orange bear has to the deep voice that soothes throughout his voice, I couldn’t help but stare at the neat appearance that he has. He has a golden badge of a flame emblem on his chest, to the smile that stretches across his face. “Let me escort her myself.” And the brown rabbit that’s next to him, wearing as neat of an attire as the bear has their mouth opening slightly. 

“Brae Brae, are you sure you don’t want me to–” 

“Val…” And with his blue eyes stares sharp towards the brown rabbit, as their fur starts to prickle up slowly, before their gaze meets mine… But then… Why is the rabbit staring at me, as if they… Know me? Do I even know them…? And it’s not just Val, this Brae Brae person too. And his blue eyes flickers towards me back towards the rabbit. “I am sure.” And he goes and twists around, “Now follow me, we don’t want to cause any more complications than we need to.” And he goes and walks ahead of me… Now what is with him? I couldn’t help but glance up at him, he’s so tall, I could only reach to his shoulders. And his eyes frequently takes a glimpse at me… But why does he feel…?

“Have we…” I say, and, oh gosh…! His brow arches up. Am I going to sound too weird if I do ask…? I glimpse away. “Don’t worry.” but he is still staring at me… That is, until his mouth twitches. 

“I don’t believe we’ve met.” But, oh gosh…!? How did he know on what I was going to say…!? “Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of encounters, but this…” He pauses, glancing away towards the exit that’s getting nearer and nearer towards us. “It’s interesting.” 

“Interesting…?” I say, and he gives a nod.

“Yes, Interesting.” He says, as the plants that shows behind him is shrubs and greenery. “I know I haven’t seen a canine like you up and abouts, so you must be a tourist.” But there’s actually not people like me here…!? But with his stare, glazing away as the stony steps are the only thing that makes this feel any better. “But at the same time, I feel like in a sense… We’ve at least… Met somewhere else.” Gosh, so it’s not just me… But he goes and scratches the back of his head. “This sounds insane and maybe even wrong in a sense…” “But, I think we will see each other again someday. Perhaps in another sense or life…” And he gives a hollow chuckle as he stares at me with just the briefest smile. “No, I don’t understand why I’m going all philosophoical over a person I’ve barely met. Maybe because you haven’t even asked me for my autograph yet.” 

“A auto… graph?” I say, and he gives a laugh, one that sounds more freeing as he goes and touches on the side of my shoulders. 

“I like you.” And I jerk back to his smile flashing on his lips. “Seriously, not knowing on who I am, I have to say, I’m impressed.” Not knowing on who he is…?

“But… Who are you…?” And just when we are about to get out towards the gate, his hand drags me away from the opening and we’re at the side, where he steps closer towards me.

“I’m Braedon.” And a wide smile trickles from the side of his lips. “That is all you need to know.” And the bustles of people are the only sounds that’s there, except the sounds of familiar yelling, but I glance towards him. “Who are you?” 

“Lucie.” I say, and his eyes flickers around me as his hand grasps onto mine and I can feel his lips kissing my hand. Gosh, I can feel myself getting hot all over, as his smile… Was it the sweet edge that was there, or perhaps something more… foreboding…? 

“Nice to meet you Lucie. Here, let’s go and see what the ruckus is about, and get you out of here.”

I was going to mention that fireworks quest. Honestly I liked it only because I was finally able to do the Robin Hood aspect of my character and rob that rich guy of his house and give it to that poor family and was able to send that guy to prison where he later dies. Did not expect the teddy bear bombs.

There's also the murderer red dwarf going around, I don't think I was supposed to kill him before he poisons that drunk lady but I did and immediately lost track of the quest afterwards

Like I was stumbling about when I randomly found Seravok's place in under one of the houses.

Also it took me a shameful amount of times to figure out how to get up the damn city wall to enter Cazador's palace. I didn't figure it out by myself at the end tbh, I just made a character fly up there then clicked on the ground below to see how they'd get down on their own.

Because I lost track of the bhaal slayer quest, I also lost track of the clown bodyparts and had to go use the wiki. Apparently they can be found around the houses of his victims.

That detective assistance lady to the flying elephant never came back from the upper city for me to tell her that I literally just solved the case. That temple also doesn't react to the updates of the case and still doesn't let the tieflings in.

I never had to use the wiki or google anything during act 1 or 2, but yeah act 3 was just all over the place. It was interesting and fun but never comprehensive or had a good pacing.

I got lost in the sewers so much, and ended up wandering into places I'm not supposed to be in yet. I was even confused on why half these guys are hostile to me, I don't know you yet people.

The newspaper quest might have bugged for me tho? I clearly put the right article in the printer but the quest said I never printed anything. Honestly it was also a confusing quest since I wasn't sure how to get in and who I'm allowed to kill and who I'm not allowed to kill.

Sometimes it contradicts itself, I just left Gortash's castle and learned that any steelwatcher I attack, doesn't matter if they're in an isolated area or not, will immediately break my deal with Gortash.

But then in the newspaper place basement, there are 2 steelwatchers that you can kill freely with no consequence?

Also what was even the point of taking that guy with you on the submarine to pilot the ship when you could do it yourself just fine? What did it add? I thought i might at least need to pass some checks to not crash the submarine but nope.

And fuck that hot pipe puzzle! I spent so much time on it and kept getting frustrated on why it isn't working, only to realise oh the door is already open. I apparently entered this place from the supposed exit because I got lost in the sewers again.
