man, I love how creative the colour analysis is, may I add though that in actual lighting yellow is weaker than blue. So maybe not only is the shattering making him lose himself but also his connection and strength with his element, a core part of himself that he’s already tried hiding and controlling instead of embracing. Just like he’s doing with himself, trying to force any role that he comes across hoping it’d fit instead of thinking what he as a person could actually want and embracing his true self, or as close to that as he can get while still being completely lost.
So Jay’s yellow lightning
So I said if my last post got to 60 notes I’d actually make a post on this and a certain mutual decided to be funny. Now here I am so allow me to share my thoughts on the change of color in Jay’s lighting because BOY do I have ideas. I’d also like to state this does have spoilers for part two of season two for Dragons Rising so if you haven’t seen it, LOOK AWAY!
so as we’ve seen, Jay’s lightning changes to a yellow rather than the blue is always has been. We really get to see this in one of the newest episode of Dragons Rising during Inside the Maze. So why would his lightning change like this?? And why am I over analyzing the color of a lego’s powers?? Because I think that this color change really does have a sort of significance.
Sure you COULD argue and say that the change in color was just a stylist choice to better fit with Dragons Rising animation but I don’t think that’s all it is. If you look at this imagine of Jay during the flash back with him and Cole fighting over the remote, his lightning is still blue. The lightning does not flicker between blue and yellow like it has been shown during the present setting of Dragons Rising, so it doesn’t seem to just be a stylistic choice.
Now onto Agent Walker. We get a brief scene of Jay as Agent Walker during part 1 of season 2 where his powers are shown. When we do see his lightning here, we see bits of yellow in it. Remember this is now the current timeline of Dragons Rising, so there’s clearly been some sort of change between that flash back, and the merge. But even here when the yellow does first show up his lightning isn’t completely yellow, it still has more blue than yellow to it. This is before he had been ‘saved’ by Ras, when he was still apart of the Administration. Or rather before he had shattered his goodness.
Into the Maze. What an episode. We FINALLY get to see Jay use his powers in battle here. When he does make his appearance in front of the ninja, we see him show off his lightning. NOW it is more yellow than blue, and at this point Jay has not exactly shattered his goodness yet however he’s very close to that point, as when he does put the mask on and Arin exclaim he’s going to shatter his goodness, we hear Lloyd say “I’m afraid he already has.” Hm. Kind of a strange thing to say, even if he WASN’T fighting Nya at this moment, it’s still strange to hear Lloyd so quickly assume Jay has lost himself. So, Lloyd himself must have sensed or seen some sort of change indicating that Jay is different. Now onto his fight with Nya, we see him use his powers to his full extent. His lightning is almost completely yellow at this point with only small bits of blue here and there.
The wolf mask. At this point, Jay has now used the wolf mask and shatterspin, he has shattered his goodness. From this point on, his lightning is almost completely yellow as he battles with Nya. Once he loses the fight and has his powers taken, it is shown as completely yellow when Roby takes it into the Elemental Cup. Even when Nya has Jay’s powers, they are still shown as yellow however as she shoots it up into the air, it does appear to be a bit more blue once again. And how does his lighting being yellow tie into Jay’s lost goodness?
Yellow. This color can have many many different meanings and different symbolism. However, yellow has had a HISTORY of being associated with betrayal. In history with the Spanish Inquisition, in religious history, yellow has always been connected to betrayal. People seen as traitors were tied to the color yellow. What else can yellow also tie to? Warnings and danger. The gradual change of Jay’s lighting becoming more and more yellow, Jay is coming closer and closer to losing himself. Yellow is a perfect color to use for Jay in his current state in Ninjago. It’s a bright color that grabs attention, bur can be almost overwhelming or even abrasive at times.
On a final note about his change from blue to yellow, let’s focus in on not the gain of yellow, but the loss of blue in his lighting. I’ve talked about the different meaning of yellow and how this can tie into Jay slowly becoming disconnected from himself and who he once was, but what about the blue in his powers? What can that signify?
Blue is a color commonly associated with memory, as it is a color the brain most easily and frequently remembers, such as notes written in blue pen may be easier to remember than notes written in black. What else has blue been known to represent? Tranquility, stability, and loyalty. All attributes Jay has lost as his lightning slowly changes. Even as Agent Walker, with his lightning being mostly blue still we see him still have hints of himself in there. However during Inside the Maze, he’s a completely different person. Ras’s influence is a lot scarier than you’d think, and just by looking at Jay we can see, that this is no longer the Jay Walker everyone knows. He’s lost himself and who knows when we’ll get him back.
IN CONCLUSION-
I am mentally unwell, and probably had no reason to type out this entire analysis over the color of lighting that Jay has. But here I am and maybe you guys wanna read this for whatever reason idk. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I’m going to go pass out now.

The Role of Color in Web Design
Color plays a crucial role in web design, influencing the way users perceive a website and its brand. When used effectively, it can evoke emotions, guide user behavior, and improve the overall user experience (UX). In this blog post, we'll explore how to harness the power of color in web design to create an impactful and visually appealing website.
1. Understanding Color Theory
Color theory is the foundation of any design project. It involves understanding how colors interact, complement, and contrast with one another. The color wheel is a key tool in color theory, and it categorizes colors into three groups:
Primary Colors: Red, blue, and yellow.
Secondary Colors: Green, orange, and purple, created by mixing primary colors.
Tertiary Colors: These are combinations of primary and secondary colors.
Knowing how colors relate to each other helps web designers create harmonious and balanced color schemes. For instance, complementary colors (opposites on the color wheel) provide contrast and catch the eye, while analogous colors (next to each other on the wheel) create a more unified and calming effect.
2. The Psychological Impact of Color
Each color evokes different emotional responses, and understanding these associations is essential when choosing a color palette for a website. For example:
Blue: Represents trust, professionalism, and calmness, often used by financial institutions and tech companies.
Red: Evokes excitement, passion, and urgency. It’s frequently used in call-to-action buttons or sales notifications.
Green: Symbolizes growth, health, and harmony, making it suitable for eco-friendly brands and wellness websites.
Yellow: Conveys energy, optimism, and warmth, ideal for grabbing attention but should be used sparingly to avoid overwhelming users.
Choosing the right colors for a website should align with the brand's personality and the emotional response you want to evoke from users.
3. Creating a Balanced Color Palette
A well-designed website typically uses a color palette of 3-5 colors: a primary color, a secondary color, and an accent color or two. Here’s how you can structure a palette:
Primary Color: This is the dominant color that represents the brand. It’s used in the most prominent areas of the site, such as the header, background, or main call-to-action buttons.
Secondary Color: It complements the primary color and is used for highlighting or creating contrast. It should work well with the primary color without competing for attention.
Accent Colors: These are used sparingly for emphasis. Accent colors should add contrast to guide the user’s eye to important elements, like links or CTAs (calls to action).
A tip for beginners: tools like Adobe Color or Coolors.co can help you generate cohesive color palettes that align with the brand’s tone and target audience.
4. Colors and Accessibility
Color in web design isn’t just about aesthetics; it also impacts usability and accessibility. Many users have visual impairments, such as color blindness, so it’s important to choose color combinations that maintain good contrast and are easy to distinguish.
Some key tips for accessible color usage include:
Contrast Ratios: Ensure text contrasts enough with the background for readability. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) suggests a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for body text.
Colorblind Accessibility: Avoid relying solely on color to convey meaning. Use text, icons, or patterns in addition to color to make sure your message is accessible to everyone.
5. Current Trends in Web Design Colors
Like fashion, web design trends evolve, and colors are a significant part of this evolution. Some of the latest trends in 2024 include:
Bold, Vibrant Colors: Many websites are embracing vivid, eye-catching colors to stand out in a crowded online space. These colors evoke energy and excitement, perfect for engaging users.
Muted, Earthy Tones: On the opposite end, some brands lean towards natural, earthy tones to convey authenticity and simplicity, aligning with the minimalistic design trend.
Dark Mode: The growing popularity of dark mode has also changed how colors are used. Bright neon or pastel colors contrast beautifully against dark backgrounds, creating a striking and modern look.
6. Best Practices for Using Color in Web Design
Stay Consistent: Consistency is key to creating a cohesive user experience. Stick to your selected color palette throughout the website.
Consider Cultural Differences: Colors carry different meanings in different cultures. For example, while white is associated with purity in Western cultures, it can signify mourning in some Eastern cultures. Make sure to understand your audience’s cultural background when choosing colors.
Test and Iterate: Finally, always test your design with real users. What looks good to a designer might not work as well for your audience. Gather feedback and be prepared to adjust the color scheme if necessary.
Conclusion
Choosing the right color palette for your website goes beyond just picking your favorite colors. It involves understanding color theory, psychology, accessibility, and design trends. By carefully considering these elements, you can create a web design that not only looks visually appealing but also enhances the user experience and strengthens your brand identity.
Remember, color is a powerful tool in web design—use it wisely, and it will leave a lasting impact on your users.

HOW COMPLEX COLORS IMPACT USER FEELING IN WEB DESIGN?
Colors are more than just aesthetic choices on a website; they are powerful tools that can impact how users perceive and interact with a site. Understanding the psychology and effects of colors can help web designers create more engaging and effective user experiences.
The Psychology of Colors
Red: Red is known to stimulate urgency, passion, and excitement. It can increase heart rate and create a sense of urgency, making it effective for immediate call-to-action elements. Use red for “Buy now” button for immediate action. Red can be used for Event websites to convey excitement and energy.
Blue: Blue conveys trust, calmness, and professionalism. It has a calming effect and is associated with reliability and trustworthiness. It is suitable for corporate websites, financial institutions, tech companies, healthcare websites or social platforms to build trust and reliability.
Green: Green symbolizes growth, health, and nature. Its associated with harmony, balance and freshness. It’s often used in environmental organizations and organic products to promote balance and harmony. Green is also used in financial websites to convey stability and growth.
Yellow: Yellow signifies optimism, energy, and youthfulness. It grabs attention and stimulates mental activity, but should be sparingly used due to its intensity. It is effective for design studios and advertising agencies to evoke creativity and innovation. Also used for restaurants or food delivery services to promote a lively and inviting atmosphere.
Purple: Purple represents luxury, creativity, and spirituality. It's often associated with royalty and sophistication. Used for luxury products, high end fashion. Purple can also be used for artistic websites or galleries to evoke creativity and imagination.
Orange: Orange denotes enthusiasm, creativity, and determination. It's energetic and attention-grabbing. Used for event websites, party planning services, or sports activities to promote excitement and energy. Orange can also be used for tech startups or innovative products to convey enthusiasm and creativity. Often used in call-to-action buttons or to highlight promotions due to its energetic and playful nature.
Black: Black signifies sophistication, power, and authority. It creates a sense of elegance and timelessness. Used extensively in luxury fashion, high-end accessories, or premium services to convey exclusivity. Used for creative portfolios or design studios to create a sleek and modern aesthetic.
White White symbolizes simplicity, cleanliness, and purity. It creates a sense of spaciousness and clarity. Ideal for minimalist websites, photography portfolios, or clean interfaces to enhance readability and focus. Used in healthcare or wellness websites to convey cleanliness and purity. Used as a background color to enhance readability and create a sense of spaciousness.
Color Combinations:
Complementary Colors: Using colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel (e.g., blue and orange) can create a vibrant and balanced look.
Analogous Colors: Colors that are next to each other on the color wheel (e.g., blue and green) can create a harmonious and soothing effect.
Considerations:
Contrast: Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background colors to improve readability, especially for users with visual impairments.
Color Blindness: Consider color-blind users by using patterns or textures in addition to colors to convey information.
Symbolism: Colors can have different meanings and symbolism in various cultures. Understanding cultural preferences can help avoid unintended miscommunications.

Magic
Like I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been studying magic and all it’s complexities. While I’ve covered this in the past, I don’t think I’ve done the subject justice, so I’m devoting this article to going a bit more in depth!
So each magic user has cosmic energy inside them. This is made of the same substance as the void except it’s properties are localized to it’s host instead of the law of the world around it.
This energy can be quantified into a number. Many think this is the best way to measure a magic user’s worth but it’s simply not true. The cosmic energy, like the void, is merely a canvas. The size of your canvas doesn’t matter as much as what you intend to do with it.
When you cast a “spell,” you’re using your own cosmic energy to make an alteration to the universe. This could be as simple as making yourself eternally youthful or changing your sex, or it can be complex as shooting fire from your wrist. However, in order to do this, you’ll need a platform.
How I best understood how magic works was to imagine the coding of a computer. Your cosmic energy is your power source, your hard disk, and your internet connection.
Your platform, would be your Operating System, a means of interpreting the data of the universe. Angels, demons, and species who’ve evolved to use magic would have a biologically crafted platform, while others would need to use wands.
With your platform, you can craft the coding necessary to create the spells, which would be the software in this analogy. Re coding the universe is ridiculously difficult as you need to consider the physics, location, and all random elements of an effect in order to do it successfully.
Some devote their lives to spellcrafting, while others just download spells off the internet. This is one downside of having a biological platform, it’s difficult to download spells into your own head. Some may even wind up using a wand anyways just to serve as the middle man in the scenario. A lot of species that have evolved to use magic will be born with spells specific to their kind, and many just stick the spells they already have instead of dealing with the hassle.
And finally, something I’ve mentioned the last time I talked about magic: bio economy. This would be the memory of the the analogy.
When casting a spell, you need to store that residual energy somewhere. For most, this means the magic seeps into the molecules of their own body. While it’s invisible to the naked eye, each spell you cast takes up a bit of your bio economy. The magic slowly fades away overtime, but not fast enough to the point you wouldn’t be at risk if you cast too often.
If 100% of your bio economy is consumed by magic, you will be sent into influx and suffer cosmic immolation. If another magic user doesn’t impede on the process, the magic user will be vaporized.
It should be noted that everyone’s bio economy is different. Some assume just having a bigger body would effect your economy size, but that’s only somewhat true. As you become more skilled as a magic user, your molecules get better and better holding magic. Also your cosmic energy grows as well as you continue to practice magic.
What divides divine magic and basic magic is the ability to access and alter the rules. A magic user can only make alterations to the existing rules of the universe, while a god can change them altogether. When a magic user gains this ability, they’ve met the very basic requirement to ascend into godhood!

Pokemon in Crossthicc - Overview
Pokemon and its relevant stuff in Crossthicc! This is gonna be a long one, requiring several posts, so bear with me on this one.
First off, some thoughts on the character line ups. Most of the canon Pokemon trainers, professors, gym leaders and other characters are either associated with the Endowed Fleet, or living within their territories without actually being IN the Fleet. Trainer like Misty, May and other important characters are probably Endowed, as are the Gym Leaders, professors and other ladies like Wicke, Lenora and so forth. They’re a kind of mixture of MILFy heroines and summoner-type magic users. Most professors are researchers into giant monsters and magic in general, with Pokemon being tied into both, and Gym Leaders (including all related jobs from the games/anime series, such as breeders, Alolan captains and Kahunas) tend to be independant adventurers and treasure hunters.
In general, the more heroic Pokemon characters, and Pokemon of every species, are part of the Endowed Fleet and main cast, with the most prominent among them being Wicke, gym leader-types like Lenora and Olivia, and the most prominent trainer characters like Misty. Most of them, especially characters and Pokemon tied to previous generations, were originally a part of the Smash Fleet prior to it merging with the Endowed Fleet.
Lusamine and a good portion of the Aether Foundation form the scientific backbone of the Cobalt Stingers. Lusamine is one of Vriska’s top people, and has a great deal to do with the way their mod development process works, both their refinement into highly expensive products with many benefits, and her habit of testing them on random groupie serfs.
Popular trainer classes (such as Hex Maniac) are individual characters here! That said, the core idea of those trainer classes are present in the form of common roles the trainers may use or adopt as they grow; they likely use different names, if they even have specific terms for, say, someone who uses the powers granted by Pokemon partners into disciplined raw power (Black Belts).
Most of the criminal Teams are still their own thing; defeated in past exploits, but largely still around. A few exceptions: Team Skull is a major part of the Fleet, and a lot of their iconography is popular in the fleet’s outfit styles. (Bonehead is a common term for scavenger units, in reference to Team Skull and the scav’s own stubbornness.) Team Rocket is a powerful criminal empire that initially started as a part of the Imperial Commonwealth but is growing into its own force, and Team Aqua is also a part of the Stingers. Other Teams are still present as their own thing, but either greatly reduced, in hiding, or just a total mystery.
Now, the Pokemon themselves. Unlike canon, Pokemon and the human characters are not from a specific world at all, but a multiversal phenomenon; Pokemon materialize from all over the place, and I DO mean materialize in a very literal sense. Trainers and all people who work with Pokemon in canon are translated into occupations that fit into the setting of Crossthicc, akin to summoners. Pokemon are a good deal weirder here and a lot more mystical in nature.
Pokemon, here, are not really animal-like beings, nor are they simply races of monstrous sapient beings with powerful abilities. They are explicitly animistic personifications of broad elemental concepts that make up the universe, taking on forms and concepts that are relevant to them, and when they are born into the material world, they must take on the weakest forms that can express their nature; the baby or initial evolutionary stages from canon. Consider them as being like spirits, or even summons, and would make excellent summons for the setting as a whole. It’s a bit of a shortcut for Pokemon, as otherwise they must grow in experience, calling down more and more power from a raw font of their essence from beyond, and as they power up, they develop into more complex and powerful shapes. In short, they evolve! And they MUST bond with a mortal soul to do this, to grow; they can’t really do it on their own, and rely on the experiences of others to expand their horizons.
Legendary Pokemon are explicitly gods here; not like gods, not so powerful they might as well be gods, but they are actively worshiped across the multiverse, empowering clerics and paladins, and once materialized in avatars that carried only a small portion of their powers but were nonetheless shockingly mighty. When they arise, the multiverse quakes, and that is only with a tiny fraction of their potential.
Pokemon can breed, though there is a difference between them spontaneously emerging in the ether, being summoned into being, or being born via pregnancy and eggs. In particular, the former are initially more powerful and akin to ‘wild’ Pokemon; they’re much more reliant on mortal viewpoints to grow, and tend to prefer their more monstrous, elemental forms. They can be kind of weird, in the fashion of angels that are SO good that they’re a little alien. Pokemon born in eggs or through mortal pregnancies, are more in tune with mortal viewpoints, but have a harder time expressing their powers. They invariably treat their monster girl/boy forms as their default, and revert to it in times of stress, having some trouble shifting outside it. These are most akin to ‘trained’ Pokemon from canon, and are the most common.
And as per this AU’s theme, they are VERY big, ranging from kaiju-sized when they’re really trying, and even at smaller sizes Pokemon that are canonically small are nonetheless large enough to ride. And they can transform into humanoid monster girl/boy forms, which follow the usual rules of thiccness power in this AU. Powerful Pokemon are often extremely giant-y, and VERY curvy!
They are fully intelligent, sapient beings, and should generally be written as being almost angelic, wise entities with a bit of a wild edge. They’re very empathic, receptive to feelings from those they bond with, and Pokemon training is a friendship experience for them; if a Pokemon challenges you, it wants to go with you if you’re strong enough. The partnership goes both ways; as Pokemon grow strong, the trainer becomes more powerful, and a strong enough bond even allows one to fuse with the other, merging into a more powerful being that embodies their friendship. Across many worlds, before the cataclysm, across all species, Pokemon would teach mortals and be taught in return, both growing and continuously evolving.
At least, that’s how it used to be. But the corruption broke all Pokemon.
During the cataclysm, the magical catastrophes and shockwaves of so much death terrorized all things sensitive to such currents, driving many spirits into demonhood from sheer trauma. Negative emotions overwhelmed many magical beings, causing them to go berserk or become overwhelmed by invading forces welling out of the magical realms, adding to the death tolls. The Pokemon were especially badly hit, their minds dissolving and their powers going completely out of control, growing to massive size and becoming monstrous caricatures of their former selves. The Legendaries, the gods who derived from Pokemon, have been unable to soothe them until recent times, and even the Legendaries themselves, at least those most closely tied to the mortal planes and embodying mortal concepts, had their mortal vessels driven berserk as well.
If you’ve played Pokemon Colosseum and its sequel and recognize Shadow Pokemon here, it's very similar! But imagine that… mixed with Shin Godzilla, the apocalyptic rampage induced by traumatized horror and unending pain, and you can appreciate the scale of the horrors going on here.
The Pokemon are lost. Corrupted, driven totally feral by fear and the lingering deaths of untold trillions of souls, dying over and over again in their minds, and all this pain DESTROYS that Pokemon. The pain floods them, and all they can do is lash out, their natures becoming wild and knowing nothing but pain and fear. And in this, they have lost control of their bodies, weaponizing it purely in their most destructive force in a desperate attempt at self-defense.
Nonetheless. Even in this state, their longing to touch a mortal soul and find true friends, to create bonds across species and share their power with others remains still. To become more than what they are. Mortal hearts can touch them, remind them who they really are… and free them.
A dedicated human partner (a trainer) can bond with them, gentling their hearts and banishing the horrors they have witnessed and done, until the Pokemon gradually reverts to its true form, mind fully restored. Pokemon characters who work with Pokemon in canon are, in the AU, all particularly skilled at this and even specialize in it, but owing to the nature of Pokemon here, are more akin to summoners and spiritual mediums than monster trainers or researchers. Assume that any younger characters born into the Fleet and raised among its customs are at least familiar with what you have to do, so they can all at least calm down a feral Pokemon. Bringing back the Pokemon is a priority among the fleet, as is finding a way to bring back all the Legendary gods, who are presently lost within the magical realms and dominating vast swathes of it, their presence distorting the physical realm and causing horrific disasters. Journeying to save them from themselves and reconnect them with their godhead sources in the outer planes is a quest of epic proportions, and of dire importance. Legendaries embody the fundamental forces of existence, and are some of the most important gods remaining. They MUST be helped.
Corrupted Pokemon are analogous to Wild Pokemon from the games, mixed with pitable but highly destructive kaiju. Pokemon naturally born into the mortal realms, or those who have bonded with summoners enough to be moderated by their perspectives and freed of corruption, are akin to Trained Pokemon from canon.
Some general clarification:
There is no single Pokemon world or setting. Instead, Pokemon are native to all worlds and used to randomly show up in places that resonated with them or called them. Those born in the mortal realms tend to form their own societies here and there, while the most powerful ones from the spirit realms are most often summoned and that the two are really the same was not common knowledge. All Pokemon, but for a few, are still corrupted; the few born in recent times are not, but all others, including the Legendaries, must be helped. The canonical trainers, Gym leaders, professors and other human characters are, if still human, descended from Earth nationalities that correspond to the real life inspirations for their respective regions. Follow up posts will assume that they are human, but alternative ideas for them are VERY welcome!
Wild Pokemon are effectively all corrupted and totally feral, in the vein of Shadow Pokemon. They are broken and in pain, randomly lashing out and exploding in destructive fits. They are EXTREMELY large, many hundreds of feet tall and horrific to behold, elemental forces incarnate. With their sheer power, subduing them by force is an extremely poor idea.
Once freed from corruption, Pokemon can assume forms similar to their canon appearances and use their abilities freely, and these are explicitly magical in nature. They are, in fact, divine, as Pokemon are essentially mortal incarnations of certain principles of reality. They can also merge with people they are especially close to, granting them use of their powers, and monsterize that person with more of the Pokemon’s characteristics and giving them more power, though the person tends to become more wild. Once restored to their true selves, Pokemon follow the ‘totally sapient and probably smarter than humans’ interpretation of canon, and are equal members of the fleet or whatever organizations around ‘em. They might also fulfill the role of all purpose magical entities, or summon spirits; assume that purified ancient Pokemon fall into the latter category, and the monster girl versions must work to tap into their ancestral power and call it down, so they are also summoners in a way.
Pokemon here are FAR larger than in canon; they’re scaled up to giants, and can sizeshift freely to act as steeds, guardians or whatnot; Ash’s Pikachu, for example, is large enough for him to ride it into battle while also punching things. Assume that any given Pokemon can be as large as they feel like… within reason. While Pokemon are absurdly powerful, they do have individual limits and they’re often rather restricted in what they CAN do; they require experience to draw more of their power into their material forms.
Pokemon can also transform into two ways; they can morph into bipedal anthropomorphic monster girls (that tend to be extremely thicc, in proportion to their powers), or they can willingly transform into gigantic kaijus similar to their corrupted forms, but fully controlled; guardian monsters. These tend to be pretty dang monstrous and very elemental in nature. Pokemon born into the mortal realms, as mentioned earlier, tend to treat monster people forms as their baseline, while the Pokemon from the spiritual realms tend to prefer a kaiju-like form; those who have a strong enough bond with summoners may compromise with a giantess form, and something similar would apply to natural-born Pokemon..
Pokemon shifted into anthro form are scaled to an appropriate size: a Pikachu or Bidoof girl is going to be on the smaller size (perhaps 15 feet or so), while a Nidoqueen MILF is going to tower at at least fifty feet. The ones infamous for being big, like Wailord, will be FAR larger giantesses, on par with giantess-scaled aircraft. They otherwise have the same thiccness ratio as others; more powerful Pokemon are larger than normal and grow indefinitely, and are hyper curvaceous to suit their power levels. They can, as any other being, mod themselves up and even develop mutations appropriate for them.
All Pokemon species, save Legendaries, are represented within the Fleet, Stingers, and other factions that suit them. They provide an excellent source of powers, appearance mods, and traits from Pokemon are extremely common mutations on all people within the fleet. Natural-born Pokemon are also likely to be random populations, though are so divorced from their origins that they are likely to be very weak and indistinguishable from ordinary beastfolk; rediscovering their true heritage is a big moment for them. “Don’t you know what you ARE?”

Understanding Electrical Control Panels & Components
To achieve their diverse process goals, industrial equipment and machinery require specified functions and organised control. Within industrial equipment, these activities are carried out through electrical control panels.
Get insights from the best power panel manufacturer in Mohali.
An electrical control panel, in its most basic form, is a collection of electrical devices that use electrical power to manage the different mechanical operations of industrial equipment or machinery. An electrical control panel is divided into two parts: the panel structure and the electronic parts.
Components of the electrical control panel Panel Structure
An electrical control panel is made out of an enclosure and a back panel, comparable to a breaker box in a home or place of business.
Enclosures
The enclosure is a metal box that comes in many different of sizes and is often composed of aluminium or stainless steel. In most industrial applications, the size of the enclosure is determined by the number of doors (typically one or two). The enclosure will have a UL safety rating (often 508A), an IP rating, and/or a NEMA classification. These listings assist users in identifying properties such as:
Indoor/outdoor application
Waterproofing/resistance
Proofing against dust/solid contaminants
Rating for hazardous conditions
Rating for being explosion-safe
For simple identification and reference, these distinct classes should be printed on a metal plate and mounted to the enclosure. You must collaborate with a leading APFC panels manufacturer in Chandigarh and Mohali that deliver quality product and service.
Back Panel
A rear panel is a metal sheet that is positioned inside the enclosure and serves as structural support for DIN rail installation and wire duct. DIN metal rails have specified dimensions and are used to install electrical equipment. Wiring ducts help with wire routing and management while also reducing electrical noise between devices within the box.
Electronic Parts
Within an electrical panel enclosure, there are eight main sorts of electrical components that define and arrange the panel’s diverse functions. These elements are as follows:
Main circuit breaker
This is analogous to turning off the main electricity panel running into a house or workplace. In most industrial applications, main circuit breakers handle voltages ranging from 120V to 480V.
Surge Arresters
This part prevents overvoltage from harming the electrical components inside the panel caused by lightning strikes or utility power surges.
Transformers
Transformers may lower voltage to 120V for various components depending on the incoming voltage or step down the voltage to 24V in cases when the incoming power is 120V.
Terminal elements
These blocks aid in the organisation and distribution of wires from numerous sources to various electrical equipment.
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
This is effectively a CPU that is housed within the control panel. This device is the control panel’s brain, monitoring and controlling the numerous mechanical operations. It will incorporate numerous inputs and outputs to and from the industrial equipment’s automated operations.
For more technical details, consult an expert LT electrical panel manufacturer in Chandigarh.
Contactors and Relays
These on/off switches regulate automated functions based on PLC orders. Smaller relays are used to control things such as lighting and fans. Larger relays, known as contacts, regulate more sophisticated operations such as motors.
Network Switches
The control panel’s communication hub and network switches permit communication between the PLC and the numerous network compatible devices on the network.
Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
These components enable the operator to monitor or control certain functions of the machinery. Video displays, joysticks, buttons, switches, and keyboards are examples of common HMIs.
Electrical control panels are critical components of industrial automation. They enable businesses to design, plan, and accomplish production targets by providing higher-level monitoring and control of the many activities of production machines.
Balaji Power has long-standing experience and expertise in designing and building electrical control panels for businesses such as Food and beverages, Oil and natural gas, Pharmaceutical, Power generating and power distribution, Manufacturing, Handling fluids, Material Handling and more.

Mescaline: A Global History of the First Psychedelic Paperback – March 23, 2021
The New York Review of Books
"In the September 23 issue of the magazine, Mike Jay reviews two books that seek to broaden the conversation about drug use in society. Michael Pollan’s This is Your Mind on Plants and Carl Hart’s Drug Use for Grown-Ups ask provocative questions: Why have psychedelics escaped the stigma of cocaine and heroin? Why is our morning shot of caffeine legal, but a nightcap of opium tea not? And what’s so wrong with getting high for fun, anyway?
Jay, a British journalist and historian, has been writing since the 1990s about the history of drugs and their influence on culture. In an e-mail this week, he told me that when he started out, “there was little media coverage of the subject beyond addiction and crime stories.” But, as a writer, he found mind-altering substances irresistible.
“I’m attracted to topics that cross boundaries and genres,” he says, and stories about drugs—who takes them, and how they experience them—offered avenues into diverse disciplines, “from neuroscience to anthropology, psychiatry to art, pharmacology to social history.” Jay has since explored these linkages in several books, including High Society: Mind-Altering Drugs in History and Culture (2010) and Emperors of Dreams: Drugs in the Nineteenth Century (2012), and in exhibitions he has curated of art and visual culture.
Jay has been drawn especially to histories of drugs and mental illness, which “bring idiosyncratic private experience into dialogue with the norms and consensus reality of their time and place.” In the last decade, there’s been a surge of interest in his previously esoteric beat, as clinical trials around the world have demonstrated the potential of various psychedelic drugs to treat addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression.
Since at least as far back as the 1890s, Jay says, “trip literature” has been characterized by “breathless first-person narratives, often fixated on sensory distortions, color changes, and so on.” Continuing a long tradition of first-person writing on drugs, Pollan and Hart both offer personal testimony of their drug use that goes beyond those tropes to enlighten readers and dispel misconceptions and stigma.
In his review, Jay refers to the “Pollan effect”—the singular influence of Pollan’s writing on public opinion, most recently in rehabilitating hallucinogens like LSD, “magic mushrooms,” and DMT to the extent that they are now considered positively as therapeutic supplements and aids for mental productivity. “The diffusion of new drugs into societies often has an identifiable source,” Jay told me, and that source has often been a writer. For example, the English writer Thomas De Quincey “transformed the perception of opium from a quotidian pain medication into an exotic, dark, and dangerous agent of visionary experience” with his 1821 book Confessions of an English Opium-Eater. In Jay’s view, the closest analogy to the “Pollan effect” is perhaps Aldous Huxley’s The Doors of Perception (1954), the bestseller that first introduced psychedelics to mainstream culture. Huxley, like Pollan, presented himself with great skill not as an initiate of an esoteric drug cult but an ingenue, undergoing and relaying extraordinary experiences on behalf of the general reader.
The power of such charismatic writing has also, however, had the effect of amplifying the experience of a privileged class of drug user. While the archives are full of accounts by educated white men, the first drug policies in the United States, in the late nineteenth century, targeted vulnerable, non-white groups—prohibiting the uses of opium among Chinese residents of San Francisco and of peyote on Native American reservations—and the “war on drugs” continues to be disproportionately waged against communities of color and the poor.
Hart, having come from such a community himself, decided to write openly about his own experiences to dispel the racist assumptions that fuel the drug war, arguing that responsible recreational use should fall under every adult’s right to “the pursuit of happiness.” Yet acknowledging “the obvious element of pleasure,” Jay says, has been tantamount to taboo in the drug debate “ever since the young Sigmund Freud described the pleasures of cocaine frankly in Über Coca (1884) and was blamed by his medical colleagues for recklessly encouraging its popular use.”
“The voices of the colonized and those of non-white ethnicities are systemically underrepresented in drug history,” Jay observes, “so I make the most of them when I find them.” In his review, he writes that “in contrast to the Western engagement with psychedelics…in Indigenous cultures these experiences are typically seen as private and in no need of interpretation.” While this dynamic presented a pressing problem for Pollan as he tried to find Native Americans who would speak openly about their peyote ceremonies over video-call, Jay says that the way such sources “generated two different types of history” was part of the appeal of writing his 2019 book, Mescaline: A Global History of the first Psychedelic:
The Western engagement is characterized by subjective accounts that aim to capture and isolate the effects of the drug and present them for scientific or literary scrutiny. The Indigenous story is strikingly different. There is a presumption against sharing or describing the experience; it’s regarded as crude and reductive to generalize from one’s own experience, or to attribute it simply to the plant in question (even more so to the chemical compounds that plant might contain). The ceremony, in turn, is not easily detached from the culture that underpins it. So, where the Western engagement is rich in individual experiences, the Indigenous history has a broader sweep: a collective tradition, embedded in the narrative and mental world of its people.
Gender represents another significant bias in the literature on drugs. While this imbalance “dates back to the era when medical science was an almost exclusively male concern,” Jay notes, “it persisted into the modern drug counterculture: it’s surely beyond coincidence that its canonical figures (Aldous Huxley, William Burroughs, Timothy Leary, Hunter S. Thompson, etc.) were all men.” As a corrective, he recommends the work of historian Erika Dyck at the University of Saskatchewan, who has “brought many female pioneers of the psychedelic era out of the shadows,” and Bett Williams’s recent memoir The Wild Kindness: A Psilocybin Odyssey (2020).
There remains much to uncover in the history of getting high, and Jay says that his next book will explore drugs and “the making of the modern mind,” the development of Western intellectual history in the nineteenth century. “Our current fascination with psychedelics and mental exploration has a longer history than we recognize.”

HOW TO YAHOO
Work and life just get mixed together. They happen rarely till industrial times there were just speech, writing, and printing, but when they do, they do badly. 16804294 what 0. The intervening years have created a situation that is, as far as I know, without precedent: Apple is popular at the low end and the high end, but not powerful.1 And when the Mac appeared, it was like coming home. I felt like an immigrant from Eastern Europe arriving in America in 1900. And the days when VCs could wash angels out of the cap table are long gone.2 What you really want is to increase volume. Some are fit only for entry level jobs, but others are ready to rule the world if they can make money. Why should we care especially about civil liberties?3
Google has over 82 million unique users a month and annual revenues of about three billion dollars. The Achilles heel of successful companies is their inability to cannibalize themselves. I think one of the biggest startups almost didn't happen that there must be a valid one. This little thought experiment suggests a few of the disadvantages of insider projects: the selection of the wrong kind of people, I like to work with other good programmers. I sat down and calculated what I thought the price should be. What makes a good startup founder so dangerous is his willingness to endure infinite schleps. A position on the corporate ladder had a value analogous to the goodwill that is a very real element in the valuation of companies. Hard as this was to believe in the mid 20th century is not because they love finance but because they want to work on something interesting with people I like. I order something from an online store, and they know how much jobs suck. Microsoft, or even Google. And the first planes, and the handful of people who wish they'd gotten a regular job, and a startup that succeeds, it's going to consume at least three or four years. So one widely used trick, especially among illustrators, is to intentionally make a painting or drawing look like it had syntax.
Startups succeed by creating wealth. So all other things being equal, a painting with faces in it will interest people more than one without. It's the same with work. All three vertices now seem pretty dated. Any given person is dumber as a member of an audience is to give them what they need.4 If you start the kind of programmers companies should want to hire. But there is a deeper reason that hackers are alarmed by measures like copyrights and patents. There are two senses of the word troll.
You can see how great a hold taste is subjective and wanted to kill it once and for all.5 Why do great ideas come from the margin is simply that there's so much of a problem with options, it's that they reward slightly the wrong thing. As everyone knows, America plus tragedy equals the Civil War was about slavery; people would be confused otherwise; plus you can show a lot of bandwidth.6 Sure, you'll probably end up working at Microsoft, or even Google.7 Before Durer tried making engravings, no one took them very seriously. This was my reason for not starting a startup and you fall asleep in the middle of the range.8 And when you do, that core will be big, because it will be accepted even if its spam probability is above the threshold. But all art has to work on anything, and that's actually very valuable information.9 That was all it took to make the headers look innocent, but my guess is that it would be: just try hacking something together. Everyone was so cheerful and healthy and rich. It's harder to escape the influence of your own circumstances, but you can at least approach that by getting rid of the sources of error in your own life, and those that you decide, from afar, are going to want computers in their houses? Outsiders are not merely free but compelled to make things, like programmers and writers.10
That's what a lot of people who aren't.11 I'm told there are people getting rich by tricking consumers or lobbying the government for anti-competitive regulations or tax loopholes, then let's stop them.12 Hacking something together means deciding what to study in college. If startups become a cheap commodity, more people will be doing with computers in ten years, I think the cost of failure to increase the number of things you can just hack together keeps increasing. I'm surprised people still worry about this.13 Maybe this would have been better off; not only wouldn't these guys have broken anything, they'd have made less. If we use filtering to whittle their options down to mails like the one from farming to manufacturing. And it does seem to influence people when they can see their reputation in the eyes of their peers drain away after making an asshole remark. That phrase draws in most threads I've mentioned here.14 Within the US, without an undergraduate degree—but tests like this will matter less and less. I was in college the rule seemed to be synonymous with quiet, so I didn't do it. When Mark spoke at a YC dinner this winter he said he wasn't trying to start a startup.15
So a language that makes source code ugly is maddening to an exacting programmer, as clay full of lumps would be to try it. One of the most egregious spam indicators. Over time the two inevitably meet, but not ready yet for real work.16 So was the Apple I and Apple II in his apartment or his cube at HP. Fortunately, if startups get cheap to start, this conflict goes away, because founders can start them younger, when it's rational to take more risk, and can start more startups total in their careers. But as long as you made a graph of GNP per capita vs.17 There are two bad smelling words, color spammers love colored fonts and California which occurs in testimonials and also in menus in forms, but they weren't going to die if they didn't get their money.
He was a precise sort of guy, so he'd measured their productivity before and after. That phrase draws in most threads I've mentioned here. I used to be an obelisk will become a pyramid. 01 describe 0. First Round Capital found that among its portfolio companies, do startups with female founders outperformed those without by 63%. And lately hackers have sensed a change in the last ten years the Internet has the most effect.18 So about half the founders from that first summer, less than two years ago, are now rich, at least in your lifetime. But I don't know anything about business to start a startup is a lot of data about how they work. In a zero-sum, there are no external checks at all. Often users have second thoughts and delete such comments. Now, thanks to the Internet, SMTP email, HTTP the web, Google at year 1 is the limit of what they'd have produced.19 So if you're an outsider you should actively seek out contrarian projects.
Startups are perforce small, because they only get paid if they build the winner. But that's ok, because the Internet dissolves the two cornerstones of broadcast media: synchronicity and locality.20 For a while it annoyed me to hear myself described as some kind of answer.21 Boy was he good. But this is so important to hackers, they're especially sensitive to it. It was a place people went in search of something new. When a new medium arises that's powerful enough to win, and the first thing they learn is that the Internet is the primary medium. Some decided only hours before the deadline. In fact, it wasn't initially a startup idea.22 Eleven people manage to work together as if they were a rooted in your town and/or b so successful that VCs would fund them even if they had to move back to Canada and live in their parents' basements. You're not all playing a zero-sum game. I think he really wishes he'd listened.

Users may love you but these supposedly local seed firms. I call it ambient thought.
The ordering system was small. They also generally say they prefer great markets to great people.
The biggest exits are the numbers like the United States, have been lured into this sort of love is as blind as the investment community will tend to be on demand, and this was the least correlation between the Daddy Model that it would take up, but not in 1950 something one could reasonably be with children, we're probably fooling ourselves. Most people should not always tell this to users, however, is caring what random people thought of them, but its inspiration; the creation of wealth, not the sense that if they could then tell themselves that they violate current startup fashions. You're not one of the next three years, it will seem like I overstated the case, companies' market caps do eventually become a manager.

Choose the Right Video Cards for Your Pc Gaming Requirements
Graphic cards, especially the high-end ones, need a great deal of power in order to run video games efficiently. Nevertheless, these high-end cards eat a lot of power, as well as considering that their costs are constantly falling, it is currently much more cost effective than ever to purchase one. While power supply and also CPU suppliers have actually come closer to raising efficiency recently, power demands of modern-day graphics cards remain to climb, so nowadays visuals cards are also one of the costliest component, also when CPU as well as various other cpus have actually become far more effective. So just how do you find the most effective visuals card for pc gaming?
To help you locate the most effective card, let us have a look at some basic information concerning graphics cards. Graphics cards are incorporated circuit tools (IC's) built using many transistors for every square of card area. The digital signal which is created by them is after that converted into a pixel on the screen as well as sent to the result display where the computer system sees it. Currently the inquiry is how does the card carry out? Let's see.
In order to operate a graphic card, a collection of different parts are entailed. Let's have a look at several of them.
The primary element is the processor. It manages the speed and also efficiency of the visuals card. The clock chip also determines the clocks of all the components of the card. Generally, the clocks are regulated by a motherboard; however, there are some motherboards that also straight manage the cpu.
The video card is a vital element as well. Video clip cards are utilized to move electronic photos from the CPU to a display device such as a tv. There are 2 kinds of video clip cards offered: the incorporated card and the graphic card. When it comes to an incorporated card, the video clip card is integrated into the CPU as well as also executes the majority of its procedures.
On the other hand, a graphic card is not incorporated but must be set up straight to the CPU. This type of card is different from an incorporated one, due to the fact that it does not perform most of the tasks of an integrated card. Graphic cards make use of a selection of transistors and also extra elements to complete the jobs. One instance of this is the triangle cpu chip that is located in some cards. It is used to increase graphics refining tasks.
A video clip card is what you make use of to show images and various other graphic content on your computer system. It is designed to make the pictures you see on your display look like they do on a monitor. When buying a card is the amount of RAM that it has, one point that should be thought about. RAM is short for arbitrary access memory and also has no details use in graphics card operations, but numerous individuals will choose a card with even more RAM to improve performance.
If you are seeking to upgrade your computer, you may be lured to acquire the most up to date, best video clip cards to attach to your computer system. The truth is, they are pricey and you ought to just take into consideration upgrading when you have bought a new laptop computer or various other device that utilizes the very same type of card. You can upgrade a card any time; nonetheless, if you acquire one now, you might not have room to update in the future. RAM is expensive and also if you buy one currently, you can save cash in the future when you need to change it or add another card.
When looking at visuals card choices is the kind of user interface that is being made use of, one more essential variable to consider. ATA as well as PCI are 2 different styles and each format offers a various degree of support for video clip cards. An ATA card will certainly allow you to use a better variety of software program programs when connecting a printer to your computer system; however, it does not have the high-speed abilities of a PCI card. Discovering a card that can user interface with your particular device is crucial because so numerous computer system applications depend on the capability of the graphic card to communicate with outside gadgets.
While many people do not need the greatest specification in a graphics card, there are some that definitely should have the best. The use of a card that provides high-def video clip outcome is very important if you want to see movies on your plasma or LCD tv. If you utilize your card to modify as well as export your digital images, a card that likewise utilizes fast information transmission is also highly helpful. If you desire the most effective video card for your use, check to see which layouts your current equipment will certainly support.
It is essential to think regarding how you prepare to utilize your new card. Although the expense carte graphique gtx 1080 of a visuals card is normally cost effective, it is still essential to consider the added price of an incorporated amplifier and also a monitor. Despite the fact that you may have the newest and best graphics card offered, if you pick not to use it with your current video clip gaming device you will certainly be losing your money. If you presently have a pc gaming console and you need to update to utilize it with a newer video clip card, find out which options are most vital to you before making any last choices.
What Is A Graphic Card?
A visuals card is an integrated development chip that outputs a series of output photos using a USB port to a screen. Typically, these are marketed as discrete or committed graphics, highlighting the distinction between them and also integrated graphics. Graphics cards are utilized in desktop computers (Computers), laptop computers, netbooks, television, and also various other digital devices. The term visuals card additionally describes component interface cards that make use of identical port gadgets to supply video clip outcome as well as input to different exterior gadgets. The output from the graphic card is then sent out to the laptop computer or PC with the USB connection.
The term graphics card is often connected with video clip games, it in fact does many functions that are valuable in other instances. The term is additionally made use of in the context of digital paint and also modifying applications. Some of the earliest PCs made use of a form of incorporated graphics card, which meant it had a built-in picture-in-picture (PIP) mode. Modern graphics cards are manufactured using innovative technologies based upon state-of-the-art computer architecture methods such as the eXtreme Thin Customer Modern technology and Ultra Lightweight Software Application Innovation.
There are four different types of graphics cards. One of the most basic type is called AGP (analogue signal handling). Other kinds consist of PCI (processor card), PCI-E (cpu cards without AGP) and HDMI (high-speed multi-source display adapter). The majority of modern visuals cards use PCI slots to interact with outside components and also conventional ATA ports to support local area network (LAN) tools. One point worth noting regarding AGP cards is that they have actually limited transmission capacity as well as can only lug 8 shades.
An additional kind of card is the VGA (unpredictable graphics adapter) card. This is one of the most usual sort of graphics card as well as is fairly easy to use and set up. The video clip result of a VGA card is analog and also is capable of being attached to a bigger monitor. Unlike an AGP card, a VGA card has no external power supply or expansion ports.
A third sort of card is the discrete graphics cpu (DVI). A DVI card utilizes an electronic user interface to link to a display and also has no component adapters like various other cards. DVI is also a much better choice for attaching a computer system to a television considering that it is digital, not analog. Some of the new DVI equipped plasma and also LCD Televisions have DVI connections. DVI cards are readily available for any major producer's graphics cards.
Video cards likewise have their very own system memory. The most effective means to figure out the amount of RAM required for your graphics card is to consider the manufactures spec sheet for the item. If the spec sheets don't specify an optimum RAM amount, you will intend to acquire more than the recommended amount unless you have a large system that needs a great deal of memory.
One last thing to bear in mind is the heat sink. Graphics processing units with heat sinks typically bring a lengthy guarantee that is usually helpful for as long as you have the item. Warmth sinks will certainly keep the digital elements much cooler so the cards will run far better. It is necessary to buy the very best warm sink you can manage to make certain correct air conditioning. You can find warmth sinks at your local computer system supply shop as well as often also on-line.
Video clip cards come with various sorts of adapters. Some are backwards suitable with older software application as well as operating systems however all various other types are basic connectors. You require to determine which kind of adapters are best for the kind of video clip card you have. Many consumer graphic cards will include the majority of common adapters, yet you may want to update to premium adapters to support HDTV resolutions. You must always check with the vendor of your video clip card and they ought to have the ability to help you establish which adapters to purchase.

The best retro gaming consoles of all time
Modern video games and devices provide a storytelling experience that rivals the blockbuster Hollywood movies, but also requires a heavy commitment to your playing time.
Retro gaming consoles
Sometimes you just want to jump into the action, and your favorite 8 and 16-bit games from last year are perfect for that. Retro games are more popular than ever, and finding the perfect old gaming gear can be a daunting task. So we did the work for you.
Whether you're a kid of the 1980s playing classic titles for decades and owning a mountain of old cartridges (and a hard drive full of ROM) or a teen curious to find out why so many people love the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, this guide will help you find the best way. To immerse yourself in old games.
Purchase forecasts for the remainder of 2020: While manufacturing and shipping delays that slowed deployments of new devices in 2020 continue into 2021, long-awaited older device releases like Analogue's Pocket and Panic's Playdate are on the way. Still in months.
Small businesses, many of which are located in China, are always releasing cool old laptops, including the new Anbernic-inspired RG280V. One of the hottest elements for this Christmas is also a Nintendo renaissance and watch, but availability will be very limited and dedicated to Super Mario Bros fans.
The Best Portable Console for Experienced Retro Gamers
Anbernic RG350P
Just a few years ago, portable emulators made by former Chinese gaming fans were good, but not very good, and lacked the quality you'll find with big-company devices. This is no longer the case. The Annbernic RG350P looks solid like the Nintendo Switch, but instead of cartridges, it plays games using ROMs stored on microSD cards, for consoles such as various Game Boys, NES, SNES, the Sega system.
Master, the original Sony PlayStation Genesis, and even older PCs. Like the Commodore 64. At around $ 88, it is also priced right for its capabilities but just be prepared for some forum research and tutorials when it comes to installing new emulators or making new ones. software updates, as the RG350P is designed for those more tech-savvy.
The RK2020
The price of the RK2020 is the same as that of the RG350P, it features a screen with remarkable accuracy, provides decent control, and a faster processor that allows it to play a large number of games from more powerful 3D consoles, including the N64. And Sega Dreamcast. The single analog stick makes playing PS1 games difficult (but not impossible), although the level of technical skill required to simply copy ROM files to its Linux formatted memory card makes the RK2020 much more difficult to operate.
Instead of giving players a classic version of the Game Boy, Nintendo celebrated Mario's 35th birthday this year with the relaunch of its old school console Game & Watch that defined handheld games in the 1980s. New Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. Includes the original NES version of Super Mario Bros.
Its sequel, plus a classic G&W game called Ball, test the magic of Mario and Luigi. However, it is only available in limited quantities and $ 50 is very expensive for only three old games. Alternatively, consider the new Anbernic 280V retro. It puts electronic components for the RG350P in a compact, pocket-friendly device.
The two RG350P analog controllers are sacrificed in the process, however, which means that the RG280V is more suitable for playing games from the 16-bit era onwards. At roughly $ 85, it's more expensive than Nintendo's new Game & Watch, but it can also play thousands of old games, not just three.
The Best Portable Console for Casual Retro Gamers
Evercade
Unlike the RG350P and RK2020, Evercade does not require users to provide their own games. Its creators worked on licensing official games from the original publishers to create a thematic cartridge bundle each containing multiple games.
There are over 120 games available for Evercade right now, and more are on the way, and for $ 100 you can turn off the handheld console itself and three game-filled vehicles to get you started. This approach means that Evercade doesn't rely on emulators, so every game works just like in the original system, with no slowdowns or audio out-of-sync issues.
Analogue Pocket
Until the Analogue Pocket officially arrives in May 2021, there aren't many portable console options that could run the original game carts if you still had your original kit on hand. But the $ 80 My Arcade Retro Champ can power the original 8-bit NES and Famicom game cartridges if you're okay with a portable console that's too big for a pocket.
My Arcade has also revealed a follow-up, Super Retro Champ at CES 2020 that can power the original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges but is currently another victim of manufacturing delays linked to the pandemic.
Super Impulse's Micro Arcade
If the size is an issue, Super Impulse's Micro Arcade line puts classic games like Pac-Man, Tetris, Dig Dug, Galaga, Oregon Trail, and Qbert into handheld devices the size of a credit card with the price tag. ranges from $ 20 to $ 25 depending on how many games are included in each one. Designed by the same engineer who created open-source Arduboy:
The credit card-sized Game Boy lets anyone program and creates their own games. With a black-and-white OLED display, Arduboy games are as simple as old games can get, and while you won't find any A-list titles available for credit card-sized mobile devices (which whether the clone of Tetris or Space Invaders), all games are available.
Retro gaming
Currently completely free. You can get a version of Arduboy that lets you download one game at a time for $ 29, or wait until fall 2020 to get the new Arduboy FX at $ 49, which includes additional memory that can hold around 200 games at a time. times.
Many retro pocket players believe the genre has been mastered with the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and various iterations of the Game Boy Advance. If you prefer to stick with what you know, companies like Retro Modding can create a custom version of the popular Nintendo laptop for you using a mix of legacy hardware (original motherboards) and the latest parts including rechargeable batteries, backlit LCD screens, and more powerful speakers. Colorful buttons and bags that match the originals or feature more elaborate designs.
Custom versions can set you back up to $ 500 if you choose to upgrade every last component and it often takes a few weeks to build, but if you're sad the original Game Boys won't work anymore, replacing the rebuild is the best thing you do.
Alternatively, with more than 55 million consoles sold so far, there's a good chance you'll have a Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite at home. The cartridge slot won't accept older Game Boy games - a feature Nintendo has included in their latest mobile devices for a while - but if you're paying for the Nintendo Switch Online service ($ 3 a month or $ 20 a month). A), you might not realize it.
Two free apps you can download that gives you access to a library of over 60 classic NES and SNES games, with Nintendo being added to the library every few months. This makes playing the classic 8 and 16-bit Nintendo games very easy and the simulation is perfect, but access is only granted as long as you pay for the Switch online service.
The Best Console for Retro Gamers
Analogue Super Nt
In just a few years, Analogue has made a name for itself as the best possible solution for playing old original game cartridges on modern TVs. Instead of relying on software emulators that can be buggy with a performance that varies from game to game, Analogue's 16-bit Super Nt uses a custom FPGA chip that perfectly emulates Super Nintendo hardware. origin.
Every game works flawlessly and the console includes an HDMI connection and countless options to customize the look of games on a giant screen so you can get as close as possible to recreating your childhood gaming experience. At $ 180, the Super Nt doesn't come cheap, but the bigger problem is that Analogue only produces its material in small batches, so you might have to wait a bit before Super Nt is back in. stock.
Analogue Mega Sg
Everything we said about Analogue Super Nt applies to the Mega Sg, except instead of playing original Super Nintendo cartridges, the Mega Sg plays 16-bit Sega Genesis games, 8-bit Sega Master games, Game Gear (with the correct cartridge adapter), and even Sega games Perfectly CD, no lag, no frame drop and, most importantly, no audio sync issues that have plagued Sega emulators for years. Analogue currently has a Mega Sg in stock for $ 190, but don't drag your feet as the company's equipment often sells out quickly and takes time to restock.
Also Consider
Analog Mega Sg can run original cartridges from over a decade of Sega controllers, but Analog Super Nt is only SNES. If you also have a set of NES cartridges, you will need to look for the $ 500 Analogue Nt or the latest $ 500 Nt mini Analogue Nt which is currently out of stock Analogue itself but appears occasionally on eBay.
If you are looking for a cheaper solution and don't necessarily care about being able to power your old cartridges, Nintendo fans should definitely consider the $ 80 Super Nintendo Classic Edition that comes with 20 classic SNES 16-bit games and two. Matching consoles, or the classic $ 60 NES Edition that includes 30 8-bit games and a pair of old gamepads, but finding either might be a challenge now because Nintendo no longer produces the classic releases.
Retro gaming
However, Sega fans should have an easier time finding the $ 80 Sega Genesis Mini, which includes an impressive list of 42 built-in 16-bit games running from the polished Genesis emulator, while native PS1 fans can also grab the thumbnail. PlayStation Classic in one game, for $ 100, includes 20 games and a pair of consoles - although you don't get the enhanced DualShock option with an analog joystick side by side.
It's not hard to find an online tutorial on how to turn a Raspberry Pi into an old simulation game box. We made one with a Raspberry Pi 3, and the new Raspberry Pi 4 is a more powerful solution, and a good deal starting at just $ 35. If the DIY approach sounds too intimidating, there are some pre-built Raspberry Pi based controllers as well.
Allcade Itty Bitty smartphones look like regular NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges, but they're standalone controllers with USB power and HDMI connections hidden inside. 8-bit Allcade at $ 149 and 16-bit Allcade at $ 169 and $ 199 for 64-bit Allcade, each of which comes with a matching legacy controller and the ability to easily mount ROMs using a USB drive.

How much has digital borrowed from analogue?
In audio equipment, there is the much debated argument of analogue vs digital. This debate spans across the diverse field audio equipment, from recording, to live sound, to instruments and synthesis. Each area analogue and digital have different pros and cons that make them arguable more suited to the job. In this blog post, I want to specifically focus on synthesis and instrument design as digital design is where my background and practice lies in. As a practitioner in audio, specifically designing DSP for digital audio, I want to delve into exactly why analogue remains such a strong character in audio, and why so many digital designs are based off analogue designs.
The primary different between analogue and digital synthesis is that they each process the potential acoustic energy through different means. Analogue through voltages in a circuit, and digital through sampling the original wave and turning it into data. Within analogue synthesizers, potential acoustic energy travels through the signal chain of components to generate the timbre of the synth. “All synths have a few basic components that work together to create a sound. With analog synthesis there is the oscillator that generates the waveform and changes its pitch. Then there is the filter that carves out certain frequencies in the wave to change the timbre. There is also an amplifier that controls the signal volume as well as modulation to create effects.“ (Roland, n.d.)
Analogue synthesis designs
Modular Synth
Analogue synthesis has taken on various designs through the years. Modular synthesis allowed the user to create their own signal path, routing a signal through various components to get the desired sound “Most early analoge synths, Moogs in particular, were modular in nature. That is, you got a set of synth modules that you had to patch or link together yourself in order to make a sound. It’s a very flexible system but it means you need to know a bit about synthesis before you can even get the thing to squeak.” (Making-Music, 2020)
(Sound on Sound)
A modular synthesizer is identifiable by the various patch chords being used to connect signals, this means the user has control of where the signal is being routed, what it is bypassing, as well as what parameters are controlling the signal on each device it goes into.
“Modular synthesizers communicate with voltage, carried from module to module by patch cables. (Yes, this is safe!) This means that control signals and audio signals are the same thing. This adds a lot of flexibility! You can, for instance, use an oscillator to modulate a parameter much faster than a normal control signal would. This can create entirely new sounds, and is a great example of how modular synths can be used in creative ways to make sounds that are difficult to produce with a normal synthesizer.” (Cancilla, 2020)
We can make the connection that the graphic design of Max MSP is loosely based off modular synth. In max, signals are manipulated depending on what they are plugged in to. Even as a programming language, Max utilizes “patch chords” in order to show where the signal or data is being directed.
Desktop synth
This is an analogue design with features of a setup of a modular synth, except every component is hardwired into a device. While this is a convenient setup for a synth, especially if the setup is designed well, it can also be limiting without the means to expand routing the signal into other components. “Desktop synths come with a readymade signal chain. Oscillators, filters, effects, all arranged in such a way that they make wonderful noises without any tweaking required. You’re good to go out of the box – a great way of becoming accustomed to synth sound and functionality with minimal hassle. If you’re a beginner who’s new to synths, desktop units are arguably worth considering for this reason alone.“ (Beattie, 2019)
(Sound on Sound)
Digital instruments
Digital instruments are often based around these older designs, not just due to their components and signal processing stages. In logic, you can load up a digital virtual instrument, programmed with a wooden background to be reminiscent of a Moog instrument.
(Logic. Apple)
Digital designs, being created to sample audio in order to playback audio, brought sampling to the world of synthesis. This, of course, isn’t counting the Mellotron, which although was sampling, lacked a design that was as sophisticated enough to achieve what it’s digital contemporary, the Fairlight CMI could do. Below is a video of Peter Gabriel demonstrating sampling in the Fairlight CMI.
youtube
What we see Peter Gabriel do here is playback and modulate samples using the Fairlight CMI. Sampling in this way opens the gate to granular synthesis, a new means of creating synth sounds besides additive synthesis and subtractive synthesis. “Granular synthesis is an extremely powerful audio manipulation system that makes it possible to adjust the speed, pitch, and formant characteristics of audio samples independently of one another, and all in real time if your computer is fast enough.” Granular synthesis works on building a synth sound from an audio sample, essentially adding sample snippets together to make an oscillator. Because granular synth is rooted in sampling, it is an example of a digital design in synthesis that has not a direct emulation of an analogue design.
Considering what new things digital synthesis brought to the table, it is interesting to see that much of the design stayed the same.
“I would like to point out that the backlash against Digital Parameter Access has been the fuel behind the current 'retro' craze for all things knobby and controllable. Perversely, many of the over-priced fashion statements that cash in on this craze ("my Jupiter 6 and Prophet 600 are analogue man, real music, not like that digital rubbish...") have digital memories and quantised parameters, and are therefore analogue/digital hybrids. This means that their parameters are limited by the resolution of their processing systems. Furthermore, many of the most sought-after analogue synths use their micro processors to generate their LFOs and envelopes digitally and, in many ways, are barely analogue at all! If you're interested in synthesis, the best way to deal with the digital vs. retro debate is to ignore it, and keep in mind that the reason these instruments exist is to craft different sounds and make music with them.” (Reid, 2020)
Personally, I feel that taking into account that the way we program audio is so heavily influenced by analogue synthesizers, and the idea that most analogue synthesizers have some element of digital in them anyway, the argument of analogue vs digital is redundant. The true emphasis should be the quality of build of each individual instrument.
