Today, I beat my first mini-Boss. That Watchdog in the catacombs. I died a lot of times but then I used ashes of wolves and it worked after a few tries. It was so satisfying to finally make a progress. Oh and I met Ranni! And a guy that was apparently turned into a bush?????

(( ELDEN RING Base Game SPOILERS, NO DLC SPOILERS ))

I have been replaying Elden Ring in preparation of the dlc releasing (today!) and no surprise I got sucked back in again.

This time I took a lot of notes. There is just so much to find and do in this expansive world.

One thing about replaying after two years, you still remember the iconic moments, like “oh this is where this happened” but you’ve forgotten most part of the level design detail so there’s still tension when you’re exploring.

Probably the second least trustworthy person I've met since I got here.

Seems to put a lot of weight on seniority and status. Probably makes him feel superior.

Sure takes his title seriously, given how he covered his armor in eyes and ears.

Why did the voice single him out as important?

Seemed a lot more friendly once I got a rune.

Adopted daughter Nepheli Loux. Holds no respect for her.

Possibly using the scarabs somehow. Spies? Collecting spells and ashes of war?

A wealth of information on the Demigods.

One of his men attacked me near the arena in Limgrave.

When asked, said that Henricus was infiltrating a cult of Tarnished who hunt their own, but hadn't checked back in a long time.

He thanked me for taking care of him, since he had obviously switched sides.

Sounds fishy to me.

Why is Elden Ring is so hard!!!????? I died more than 10 times and I didn't even finish beginning area. I died to fucking wolves. Multiple times. Who die in one hit. I didn't even go to Stormveil Castle yet 😭😭😭

Dreamed that elden ring updated and it added a hard to get amulet that boosted damage against bosses with their feet exposed.

Guess who remembered they were gonna talk about ER characters! This puppy uwu! So!

Audra - A knight, and once personal guard to Godwyn the Golden, he awoke as a tarnished and began to wander the Lands Between and the Land of Shadow, searching for their master. Eventually finding Fia, they agreed to help her with her plan to make whole the two halves of the rune of death, and take the throne of Elden Lord, committed to do anything to revive his own lord, Godwyn the Golden. His attacks mostly consist of his light greatsword, interwoven with various lightning incantations. (Somewhere along the way, not 100% sure when yet, they do also meet Florissax and add her to their crew. Canonically we consider the two of them to be married, and having her as part of the team is... important for vague boss fight ideas we've been having)

Marius - more simple, a vagabond tarnished when he awoke. He began his journey, exploring, fighting, meeting the people still alive that didn't wanna kill him. And along the way, he finds faith, in the erdtree and the Golden order, trading his ratty rusted armor for brilliant golden plate, and claiming the Golden Order Greatsword for himself, traveling the lands between now with a purpose, to restore Order and bring about a new age of peace. However, the deaths of many he'd come to know and care about, as well as betrayals from others, can wedge themselves in a man's mind, the death of Millicent pushing him over the edge, broken, and simply wanting to bring this journey to a close, he meets Shabriri, and upon listening to him, a new resolve builds, to claim the frenzied flame for himself, to burn all away, so that none else may die, and he may be reunited with his friends. His armor now nothing more than tattered rags tied around his waist

he speaks to himself in a low voice as he works. checking measurements, selecting materials, making cuts, strengthening stitches. i sit and watch his fingers move with a delicate efficiency and i feel a calm sensation of fullness inside my head. by sheer serendipity, he has been by my side since this journey began. i have encountered many in these lands, and in so very few have i felt true goodness. his talents with a needle have brought my body comfort and utility, but it is his trust and friendship that is of even greater value, for that is what keep my heart and soul alive.

i have felt a duty to protect him since our very first encounter, and i confess that since that day, at times my mind has tangled with thoughts of fate and chance. i often wonder what might have been had i not heard his cries from the road. he is no ordinary demi-human. apart from his gentle manner, his blood does not boil upon nightfall. surely one as unique and skilled as he has some role to play in this world, and yet who else could have delivered him from his cruel fate? could some guiding hand have moved me to him, or was chance at work that day?

whatever the reason, i am grateful for it. his spirit shines so brightly despite all the darkness of this land. he is beautiful.
