Lay of Leithian collage I just finished!
30in by 24in, photos glued onto canvas. Photos not my me but the arrangement is. I might add some swirly lines of glitter at some point, but I’m pretty happy with how it is now!

I love Evgeny Egorov's Finrod the most; I adore his vocals during the Song Battle, and he really carries himself with all the grace and dignity of an Elven King. Plus, I love his interactions with Mikhail Potekhin's Beren, as he really comes across like an older brother to him. So yeah, Egorov is the best Finrod for me.
As for Sauron...
Tumblr media
I really like Edrian Bernada's Sauron the most. He really exudes this controlled cruelty and arrogance in his body language and dialogue, and his performance of the Song Battle has got to be the best one. Plus, I really love the face paint he wears- it looks so good on him!
Tolkien Musical Fans Reblog with your favorite Finrod and Sauron!! I’ll go first

Emerald Streams
Lay of Leithian
Tumblr media
It's been a while since I last announced a stream more than one day in advance...! Two years ago, I streamed Finrod as part of this stream series, and now it's time for the second rock opera based on the tale of Beren and Lúthien!
From the unofficial website: Two different fates are woven together when Lúthien, an elven princess, falls in love with Beren, a hero of mortal men. To win her hand, Beren is sent on an impossible quest- to cut a legendary gem from the crown of the Dark Lord. So begins this battle between light and darkness, love and duty, in the most enduring tale of Middle Earth.
English, Russian, Finnish and Spanish subtitles available! This linktree contains links to the translation and is a fantastic resource.

Hey! So I recently got a VK account, but I'm struggling to find my way around. Thanks to your masterposts I found the theatres' pages, but I don't know where to start looking for the actors. Could you please share the most important ones? Finrod, Leithian, Trial maybe ( Please ignore this if it's too much work )
Ngl, it was quite a lot of work 😅 I listed the actors' creative pages, not their personal ones, because that's the best way to keep up with their work and performances.

Now I'm curious: whom else do you consider a normal RMT tenor? (I agree btw, love Pasha's voice and acting; and I have some Questions towards some other RMT tenors as well xD)
Okay, I have to admit that I'm not very good at identifying voice types because I know next to nothing about singing - this is based solely on my experience as a theatre fan.
I've noticed that many performers in RMT have unusual, unique, distinct voices that you'd never find on Broadway or in the West End these days; somehow, most stars on the world's most prestigious mt stages have easily comparable voices because casting directors are looking for the same type of performer who's graduated from the same handful of theatre schools. There are exceptions; I'd name Drew Sarich and Ramin Karimloo. But RMT seems to be full of unique voices, and that's beautiful. You wouldn't find voices like Mikhail Sidorenko's or Edrian Bernada's on Broadway. And where are the belters anyway...?
Okay, regarding the tenors. Safe bets are Ivan Ozhogin, Anton Avdeev, Evgeny Kirillin and Roman Grafov, I'd say 🙃 Alexander Kazmin doesn't make the cut because his voice is too distinct, but others might give him a pass.

Edrian Bernada's Sauron proves that looks only play a minor role when it comes to a great portrayal of characters. No, he doesn't look anything like I imagined Sauron to look like, and I doubt he matches anyone's mental image. But when he's on stage, Sauron is on stage. He's Sauron with every fibre of his being, incredibly consistent, a brilliant and powerful Maia. Who cares about his looks?

"Your fav could never", they say, but Sasha Rychkov and Edrian Bernada promising to be each other's Finrod and Sauron forever and ever in front of a wedding wreath is pretty epic actually
