And it's not like we've not seen worse from the guy. I'm just so surprised we got the connecting theme of "on their knees"... I think I'm going to see if I can make connecting themes a thing from now on.

Edens Zero Chapter 1 Review Part 1

Hello, everyone!!! I'm here to give a review of Edens Zero, Hiro Mashima's new manga. I am a big fan of Fairy Tail but I did my best to not compare the two series. Just because the character designs are similar doesn't mean the whole series to be.

Keep in mind that this is the first chapter!! Future chapters will explain more and get better and better ^_^

^ I am very excited to meet the other characters in this series, especially the blond guy to the left!!

Here we have Shiki, Rebecca, and Happy. I love Rebecca's necklace and the fact that Happy has one too. I love Shiki's outfit as well ^_^

So, I'll admit when I read the first 2 pages, I rolled my eyes. I was really hoping there wouldn't be dragons in this series, but it seems to be a different concept, so I'll go with it for now.

I really like how the Demon King jokes around with Shiki. I hope to get more flashbacks of their relationship ^_^ I also like how this sets up the reason for Shiki's goal (which is revealed at the end of the chapter).

Next, we are introduced to Rebecca and Happy. I LOVE that Rebecca is a Youtuber...A freaking Youtuber!!! It seems so charming. And we have a nice introduction to our setting: Granbell Kingdom. I love the name, Granbell, its very melodic sounding.

So, Rebecca is a fan of cats. Slowly, we are learning a little bit about her haha. Happy looks annoyed with Rebecca's love for cats (or maybe he's jealous). Btw, Happy seems really calm in this chapter, not like FT's Happy. So, if they end up having different personalities, I would like that alot.

Shiki and Rebecca (Ship name is Shicca for those who are wondering) have their fateful encounter. Shiki seems wild and uncontrollable, but in reality he's a cinnamon roll xd

I mean, he has probably spent years rehearsing this line!!! Look at how nervous he is!!! Shiki and Rebecca will definetely have a special relationship because Rebecca is Shiki's first human friend. It's a momumental moment for him.

Now, I hate that Shiki grabbed Rebecca's boobs and looked under her skirt, but it's fanservice. Mashima is known for his fan service, I'm not surprised to see the comments about Rebecca's short skirt (which was unnessecary btw) and see Shiki checking out her body (hopefully this doesn't happen too often, but it WILL because Shiki has never seen a human girl before).

Theme: Things I want to see Mashima-senpai play with.

Maybe I'm just wanting to enjoy myself more these days, or maybe the chapters got the serious upgrade they needed, because I'm walking away with more confidence for the upcoming chapters now thanks to the developments and thingamajigs that were introduced. In fact, it's safe to say I'd be heartbroken and bitching furiously if they weren't played with... Anyway, happy review time!
