I just know Eddie would take so much care of you when you’re drunk and he‘s sober. When the two of you are out partying, he’s mostly the one who‘s drunk and you have to take care of him, but sometimes he refuses to drink so you‘re able to have some fun. It’s not like he doesn’t want to drink but he says you should also enjoy the parties like he does and that he‘ll take care of you and drive you home well he drives to his trailer but you basically live there so…Eddie also loves the fact that you get super clingy and soft when you’re drunk. He thinks you’re even more adorable like that. Every time a random dude comes to you and tries to flirt with you, Eddie stands behind you and let’s his hands test on your hips while giving the dude a death stare. He gets really protective when it comes to you, he‘ll be right behind you in a second, even if he was standing across the room before.

Robin has a love-hate relationship with Steve-and-Eddie. Love, because those are her best friends and her best friends are in love with each other and they never leave her out of anything. Hate, because sometimes she wishes they would because she keeps accidentally third-wheeling herself.

She doesn't hate it that much though, if she's honest. It's just fun to complain, especially because it riles the both of them up.

But right now, she's being quiet so she can witness one of her secretly-favorite Steve-and-Eddie rituals—of which there are many, but this one is silly and endearing.

It starts like this:

The waitress sets down their drinks, lemonade for Robin, coca-cola for Steve, and a cherry soda for Eddie.

"Don't you dare," Eddie says, even as Steve reaches for Eddie's drink, slipping his straw in next to Eddie's and slurping obnoxiously. Eddie doesn't even pretend to stop him anymore. "Unbelievable."

"I just want to taste it!"

"You could just get a whole glass of it! All for yourself!!"

"It's too sweet, I don't want a whole glass."

"What, so you think you can just help yourself to mine?"

Steve's grin is far too smug, even for Robin, even when Steve slides it to her so she can take a sip. Steve is right, it is really too sweet and she wrinkles her nose, but it's worth it for the offended gasp Eddie makes when she slides it back to him.

The diner is their favorite, because everyone who works there has given up on understanding their weird dynamic: Robin and Steve squished into on side of the booth while Eddie's spread out on the other, Robin making gagging noises whenever Steve brushes against her, even though they never sit in any other configuration. The staff has long since stopped asking which of them was her boyfriend, and that's perfect for her.

Besides, she knows that under the table, Steve and Eddie have their ankles locked together like the disgusting love-sick dorks that they are.

The Steve-and-Eddie show continues when their meals come out. Chicken fingers and fries for Steve because he's an actual child, and breakfast for dinner for Eddie because he likes to be contrary. And then the real performance begins.

They "fight" over the ketchup bottle, which really means that Eddie picks it up and Steve snatches it out of his hands—only for Steve to spread it over Eddie's scrambled eggs (gross) for him before he adds a disgusting amount to his own basket.

Eddie makes a game of stealing Steve's fries when he thinks he isn't looking (Steve is, he's tallying each one up in his head, Robin knows this because she's doing it too), and when he finally "catches" Eddie in the act, he steals Eddie's last piece of bacon—the one that's sat untouched for the last five minutes for this very reason.

Then, Eddie's "forcing" Steve to try his grits, like he does every time, and game eats a spoonful of it, every time, and then complains at length how much he hates it (and he actually does hate it, the texture is just not for him, Robin knows because it's the same for her too).

And then they do the worst, most disgusting thing ever: they split the pancake in half. Without fail. Without argument. Every time.

Robin, slurping on her strawberry milk shake that she will NEVER share with anyone ever, thinks that stupid pancake is like the symbol of their love or something. Sh's sure if they weren't in public, they'd be feeding it to each other.

"What?" They say it in unison, and Robin hates when they do that to her.

(Eddie complains about it right back at her, because she and Steve do the same thing to him all the time. They should blame Steve, since he's the common denominator, but he just looks so pleased about them both that they can't rag on him for it, so Eddie remains Robin's sworn enemy and vice versa.)

"What what?" she sneers at them, voice quiet. "You two are disgusting, it's like you're making out right in front of me right now."

"What are you, homophobic?" Eddie hisses back, just as quiet. "I'm in love with your best friend, Buckley. I'm making out with him in front of you for the rest of your life."

"Ugh! I hate you so much."

"Right back at you."

And then they start kicking at each other beneath the table, no doubt catching Steve's ankles in the crossfire. He doesn't tell them to stop though, and Robin can see that pleased, sappy smile on his stupid face out of the corner of her eye, so she lands an exceptionally harsh blow to Eddie's shin in retaliation for making her best friend so happy. He digs his heel into her toes in return.

Gargoyle Eddie

Eddie would be the cutest little gargoyle statue. Like imagine Steve, son of a wealthy man, living in an elaborate estate with a whole rose garden, lake, statues and the like.

And by his balcony window there’s a small gargoyle statue looking out to the rose garden and Steve just spends his nights talking to it when he vents. It helps talking, even if the gargoyle can’t hear him or respond.

It’s got a fierce face to scare away evil spirits: long canines, beady eyes, and tiny wings that are way too small of its boulder body, like fucking bee physiology or something.

But Steve has basically personified the damn thing after talking to it since he was a preteen, so occasionally he’ll dress it up in a scarf and hat during the cold. Sunglasses during summer…

One night, there’s a storm that tears through the estate, the rose bushes barren of leaves and buds, the walkways covered in mud, fences ripped from the winds and…

His precious gargoyle friend in pieces on the ground below his window, a lighting strike cracking it open like an egg. He can’t say what he’s upset about, not really. Not for a stupid childish attachment,

So instead he says, “I’ll miss the roses” when asked.

The following night, there’s the flapping of wings and Steve looks out the window, sky clear after the rainfall and moon bright enough to see what looks like a chunky little ball landing on the podium where his gargoyle once’s stood.

It looks exactly like the stone statue. Terrifyingly so. But it’s so familiar to him he can’t help but open the glass doors, and reach out to touch the leather skin.

And oh my god it feels disgusting like touching a toad.

So of course he lets it sleep at the foot of his bed like a dog or something. He’s actually half convinced that he’s dreaming to be honest, it’s too bizarre.

Come morning, there is a naked man on his bed, pale grey, with claws for fingernails and canines sharp as he drools on Steve’s sheets.

And on his back, there are small leather wings, deep grey, and thin like bat wings.

Do you ever cry when you think about how Eddie was probably a gentle soul when he was younger? Shy and quiet, loves to listen to people talk with sparkles in his eyes and a sweet shy smile that made his dimple pop, loved helping his abuela and mom and sisters at home. Then everything was destroyed when toxic masculinity was forced onto him and Eddie has never since been allowed the chance to ever be as soft or as gentle as he was before? How this poor little baby was sent off to war, breaking him in ways he couldn't even imagine. How since then all he's done is be afraid and confused and angry and frustrated.

Because nothing feels right even when he did all the things he was told he should do.

Be a man when I'm not around son. Be a man and marry her. Be a man and provide for your family. Be a man and kill for your country. Be a man and forget about your PTSD. Be a man and take care of your child. Be a man, be a man, be a man.

And he did! He did all of it like everyone told him to! But then why isn't he better? Why is he still broken??

But he's not. He's healing. All the cracks in his soul are being filled with gold. Like kintsugi. He's learning how to be whole again. He's found the 118, a family not of blood who loves him the way he deserves. He's found Buck, who accepts him as he is; all his flaws and imperfections; everything that makes him Eddie.

It's a slow process and sometimes it's painful but he'll get there. Eddie Diaz is not broken. He's a piece of art, beautiful and loved, his scars lined in gold.

He will learn to be gentle again; to himself most of all. He will learn to be soft; to ask for things. He will learn to be honest; to express his needs. He will learn to be Eddie once more, slowly.

WOOOO THE NEW UPDATE'S HERE!!!! I have been waiting oh so long for this and I'm so glad it's here! After going through all main pages on the site and clicking on most (or all) of the secrets, here are my thoughts.

WALLY IS SILLIER THAN I COULD'VE EVER IMAGINED!! he's so goofy and clueless and it's so freaking adorable!!! That interview audio had me screaming!!! The part where the interviewer asked wally about a romantic interest in anyone and wally was kinda just like "??" Was so cute oh my goshhhh!!!! "I love everyone! I love my friends" AAAAAA AROACE WALLY HC GO BRRRRRRRR!!! Also the Eddie book recording thigy when wally was like "I'm on the ground again :D" AAAAAAAA!!

Frank's Neuro is so diverging. The just so recording was just absolutely funky brain moments. He doesn't have to explain his heckin he just let him be.

In the recording with Sally and Julie, I want to point out that at the very end when it cuts off, I could've sworn that Sally was about to call wally "waliver". Like oliver. IS THAT HIS NAME?? IS IT NOT WALLACE???? IS WALLY'S NAME WALIVER???? I heard that and my reaction was pretty much "what did she just call him? Is that his name? Wha????" I was so absolutely surprised and I have no idea if I misheard it but after watching through a second time and hearing it again I'm now just left questioning this. Did anyone else notice that???

Also I noticed that all the "bug" recordings end when someone mentions wally. Idk what it means, maybe it's just highlighting the significance of him, but he also never speaks in any of those recordings, but from a few of the videos containing wally's hands in the frame, I suspect that they're filmed either by or from the prospective of wally.

I've come to the conclusion that Barnaby and frank have a similar relationship to sans and papyrus. The voices are even similar! Barnaby always making puns and frank just wanting him to stop, very good amazing love it

That's all I can think of for things to say about the wh update in regards to the actual characters themselves, but WOW! There was so much there! All the cute art! All the secrets! We have voices for them all now!!! I was just overflowing with excitement the whole time I was going through the site!!

rereading the last chapter of 'so mordor it is' for the first time in a hot minute and i just-

Eddie purses his lips, “I mean- Okay, yeah, that’s shitty or whatever. But I get it. I get why he’s doing it.”  “Because he’s a dick? Because he’s always been an asshole looking for a reason to pick on you? Like I said, it’s not excusable, Edd-”  “Because if I lost you how he lost Chrissy, I’d do far worse.”  Willow pauses with her mouth wide open, taking in just how deadly serious he looks at this moment. He’s not even cracking up in the slightest at her insults at the jock who had contributed to being a thorn in their side this past year, focusing on her and only her.  “No,” Willow says slowly, “You wouldn’t. You’re a good person with common sense.”  “Not when it comes to you,” Eddie rebuttals, “Not when it comes to you getting hurt. If you- If you had- If it had been your body found-” he chokes up, unable to continue the thought without taking a breath, “I’d also have a vendetta out for the prime suspect. Hell, I’d have it out for every possible suspect. Willow, if I lost you, I’d do far worse than some petty rallying against the town’s freak. I’d burn this town down for you.”

In this chapter, Buck overthinks about the other night - whether Eddie wanted to punch him or kiss him. Buck and Eddie have an ugly fight. Christopher makes two adults cry and it's not good. The 118 responds to an apartment fire under a lightning storm. Buck goes up the ladder.

And I’m worried about you, man.” “Worried about what?” Eddie says dismissively, as if Buck is saying something ridiculous. “That I’ll take a baseball bat to my life again? Been there before, I usually only make these type of mistakes once.” Buck wants to say it’s not funny. Buck wants to say when he received that call from Christopher… the only other time Buck had heard that desperation in his voice was during the tsunami and Buck had gotten tickets for speeding and cutting red lights from that night. He wants to say for two seconds there after he’d breached into Eddie’s room, he didn’t see or hear Eddie and he thought the worst. He wants to say he knew then he loved Eddie unconditionally, but didn’t know he was in love with him, and now it seemed so obvious, because those two seconds were hell. Those seconds after the shooting, when Buck was frozen and Eddie was bleeding, were hell. Those seconds not long ago, when Buck heard a gunshot and thought the escaped prisoner had aimed it at Eddie, were hell. Those minutes after the well collapsed were hell. Buck wants to say that multiple times now, he had to live in a world without Eddie, and even if it only lasted a few moments, they had burned away something vital inside him. And he had no idea how far his love went because thinking about it scared him too much. But Buck doesn’t say any of that.

I do think this might be one of the best chapters I've ever written, and for sure 10k words I am extremely proud of. Buddie angst is just 🤌🤌🤌🤌. They love each other so muchhh and it terrifies them both for different reasons!!!!!

Okay but hear me out.

What if Steve was really into astrology? What if Steve really likes stars and constellations?

His parents left him alone a lot as a kid, in a big, dark, empty house, and instead of turning on lights and radios to pretend he isn’t alone he goes outside to look at the stars. Next to the woods in Hawkins, Indiana the stars are bright and clear and he sees patterns in them like the W he sees in the winter, or the three stars in a row that are really bright.

He checks out books from the library on the weekends to learn what they are, what they mean.

The W is Cassiopeia, a beautiful and vain queen who angered the gods with her narcissism and was tied to a chair in the sky. The three stars are the belt of Orion, an angry hunter who drank until dangerous and hunted even a goddess, killed by a scorpion and preserved in the stars.

They kind of remind him of his parents. A selfish queen and an angry hunter. His parents leave for months on end but these constellations are trapped in the sky, right in his backyard. Some nights he goes out and talks to them, as if his parents are the ones trapped here with him. Sometimes he just watches, feels their presence like people, and feels just a little bit less alone.

He doesn’t tell anyone. Tommy would think it was stupid and he doesn’t really talk about himself to anyone else. No one really knows him, what he likes or what he does with himself all alone in his giant house. The stars know. Orion and Cassiopeia. They know everything about him, and he knows everything about them, and sometimes that makes him feel better.

When he can’t see them, it’s like his parents have left all over again and he’s even more alone than before, but he still watches the stars. He waits for them to come back, he waits for his parents.

Years later, after everything with the Upsidedown, with El, and Vecna, he and Eddie are still awake in Steve’s dark house. Neither are able to sleep because of the nightmares, but Eddie tells Steve his moles look like constellations and Steve feels a little bit closer to the stars. Feels less lonely than he has in a very long time.

Ace Eddie because he loves fantasy, because he would die for his friends, and that's real love, pure love. Because he went through high school obsessed with music and games, because he's surrounded himself of platonic relationships.

Ace Eddie who wears all this rings, that maybe he keeps scattered in some corner of his room, but there's one (a black version of The One Ring, from TLOTR) that he hasn't mustered the courage to wear on his right middle finger. Even though no one in this hellhole of a town would get what it means.

Ace Eddie who thinks of himself as the Freak for different reasons than everybody else. Who doesn't feel mature enough to give the next step in life because clearly there is something he's missing.

Ace Eddie who invites Chrissy to his trailer alone late at night, and it doesn't even occur to him what that may mean to her. Ace Eddie who goes to parties just to sell drugs, and not even once does he look twice at short skirts or muscular arms.

Ace Eddie who is in complete and utter love with his guitar, whose music is about rebellion and social criticism. Who is mad at the system, at the way things work. Who doesn't fit in any way.

Ace Eddie who could seduce at least half of Hawkings, because he's charming, confident and has the ability to talk to anyone, and he also could write you a song, and he has this badboy/bad influence look, and he's a little older. So he checks all this stereotipycal boxes of what is apealing, or at least the tipe of boy you'd get with to make tour parents mad/boyfriend jealous. But he doesn't even try, he just goes around having the most interesting interactions with people, and spending all his time creating alternative worlds where he can be whatever he wants, and giving that opportunity to the kids he can sense are different.

Ace Eddie who doesn't know if Wayne would understand, so he keeps it to himself. Maybe he lets him think he has some secret girlfriend (he's actually selling drugs).

Ace Eddie who is desperate to get out of Hawkings, to go somewhere else where he can be himself. Ace Eddie who stays, maybe due unconscious self-sabotage, because at least here people don't even know what it means to be like him. Because what if he gets out of this town and turns out he's actually a freak? What if he is broken, and he has to carry all that has happened to him and add this to the pile?

Ace Eddie who has an ace flag patch (he made it himself, couldn't find one anywhere) and he's saving this spot on his jacket to sew it on. He wonders if people will notice.

Ace Eddie who knows he's different from most of the people he knows, but is scared this means he's alone. Who thinks he's weird as is, but being ace might mean he will be by himself, because even Mike has a girlfriend, and what if he doesn't find someone to share his life with, and everybody else does? So he smokes some weed to forget about it.

Ace Eddie who doesn't realize he's being charming and not just funny, who makes his clients flustered when he's just joking. Ace Eddie who is unaware of the effect he has on others.

This is very self indulgent, and it also got out of hand. And I haven't watched ST in a little while, so if anything doesn't make sense I'm sorry. But yeah, Eddie as an ace icon.
