how do you write characters with depersonalization?
Writing Notes: Depersonalization
Depersonalization - feeling of detachment from the self
A state of mind in which the self appears unreal.
Experiences of unreality or detachment from one’s mind, self or body.
People may feel as if they are outside their bodies and watching events happening to them. They may feel:
estranged from themselves and usually from the external world, and
thoughts and experiences have a distant, dreamlike character.
It can also occur as a symptom in many other mental health disorders, as well as in general medical disorders, such as seizure disorders.
In its persistent form, depersonalization is observed in such disorders as depression, hypochondriasis, dissociative states, temporal lobe epilepsy, and early schizophrenia.
It also often occurs as a result of a traumatic experience.
The extreme form is called depersonalization syndrome.
Temporary feelings of depersonalization are common.
About one half of people have felt detached from themselves (depersonalization) at one time or another.
This feeling often occurs after people:
Experience life-threatening danger
Take certain drugs (such as marijuana, hallucinogens, ketamine, or methylenedioxymethamphetamine [ecstasy])
Become very tired
Are deprived of sleep or sensory stimulation (e.g., when they are in an intensive care unit)
Depersonalization or derealization (i.e., feelings of detachment from the surroundings) feelings are considered a disorder when the following occur:
Depersonalization or derealization occurs on its own (i.e., it is not caused by drugs or another mental health disorder), and it persists or recurs.
The symptoms are very distressing to the person or make it difficult for the person to function at home or at work.
As a Disorder
Symptoms of depersonalization/derealization disorder may start gradually or suddenly.
Episodes may last for only hours or days or for weeks, months, or years.
Episodes may involve depersonalization, derealization, or both.
The intensity of symptoms often waxes and wanes.
But when the disorder is severe, symptoms may be present and remain at the same intensity for years or even decades.
Depersonalization symptoms involve
Feeling detached from one's body, mind, feelings, and/or sensations.
People may also say they feel unreal or like an automaton, with no control over what they do or say.
They may feel emotionally or physically numb.
Such people may describe themselves as an outside observer of their own life or the “walking dead.”
Derealization symptoms involve
Feeling detached from the surroundings (people, objects, or everything), which seem unreal.
People may feel as if they are in a dream or a fog, or as if a glass wall or veil separates them from their surroundings.
The world seems lifeless, colorless, or artificial.
The world may appear distorted to them.
For example, objects may appear blurry or unusually clear, or they may seem flat or smaller or larger than they are.
Sounds may seem louder or softer than they are.
Time may seem to be going too slow or too fast.
The symptoms almost always cause great discomfort.
Some people find them intolerable.
Anxiety and depression are common.
Many people are afraid that the symptoms result from irreversible brain damage.
Many worry about whether they really exist or repeatedly check to determine whether their perceptions are real.
Stress, worsening depression or anxiety, new or overstimulating surroundings, and lack of sleep can make symptoms worse.
Symptoms are often persistent.
People may have symptoms all the time, or symptoms may come and go with periods of time with no symptoms.
People often have great difficulty describing their symptoms and may fear or believe that they are going crazy.
However, people always remain aware that their experiences of detachment are not real but rather are just the way that they feel.
This awareness is what separates depersonalization/derealization disorder from a psychotic disorder.
People with a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia, have thoughts that are not consistent with reality, but they do not realize these are different from usual thoughts.
During the altered experiences, the person is aware of reality and that their experience is unusual. The experience is very distressful, even though the person may appear to be unreactive or lacking emotion.

Hours after the sun dipped below the horizon, the EDM festival is in full swing. A thumping bass reverberates so loud that it travels through the ground and up into bones. The night sky is illuminated with a kaleidoscope of neon lights, lasers, and the glow of fire from stage pyrotechnics. Towering LED screens display pulsating visuals across the field, captivating audiences.
Everywhere Dionysus looks, men, women, gays, and theys are adorned with glittering accessories and futuristic outfits. Some wear body paint that glows under the strobing lights while their bodies move in sync with the music emitting from the stages.
He looks over the festival grounds in awe; it is his favorite time of year. As the god of festivity, fertility, insanity, and ecstasy, the vibes and energy of EDM festivals were kin to rituals devoted to powering him and the universe with energy.
These rituals have always existed throughout history in one form or another, but this current version is his favorite, much less gory than ritualistic sacrifices.
Dionysus shifts into his favorite mortal identity, Dieter Bravo, to walk amongst the humans and join their merriment.
With a deep breath, he drinks in the atmosphere. The air is thick with the scent of sweat and euphoria, punctuated with bursts of fog and smoke that emanate from the stages where DJs perform.
Underneath it all, there's a current of energy, wild with lust and ecstasy, that he inhales and has him tingling with power. The mortals feel it, too, but differently; the atmosphere heightens their frenzy of pleasure and excitement.
Dieter walks through the crowds. To his left, he notices a girl puking in the bushes with a friend holding her hair. He chuckles and murmurs, “Been there, done that.”
He continues basking in the glory of it all. This year, he distributed new strains of all his favorite creations. Ecstasy to induce trippy, lustful, and energizing effects, a new mushroom variant with delightful hallucinogenic qualities, and weed from the finest marijuana harvest he’s ever had that calms the mind like no other.
Looking around, he can see his mortals enjoying those creations to full effect, evident in their blown-out pupils, sexually charged dancing, and giggles galore.
His garden of fun on Mount Olympus grows it all. He’s the father of all party drugs, hallucinogens, stimulants, and even downers.
Once, Aphrodite even approached him, and together, they created a little blue pill that the mortals love, Viagra, he thinks they named it. It increased procreation, lust, and desire and rocketed Aphrodite into power, the likes of which she’d never seen.
He prides himself on creating the purest products with the finest effects. His product is even safe for mortals; only when it falls into the hands of evil bastards on earth is It defiled by dangerous additives and ruins all the fun or has adverse effects. He usually curses those individuals with bad trips, so don’t piss him off, or you’ll regret it.
It’s a win-win situation for him and the mortals at such festivals. He provides them with gifts to heighten their experiences, and in turn, he’s powered by the energy it emits into the universe.
Tonight, he tucks a pill into his own mouth as he strolls along to meet up with the threesome of individuals he’d planned to see. Ducking into the tent, he meets the eyes of 2 incredibly sexy women and a fine specimen of a man.
“Dieter,” one of the girls screams, getting up from her place beside the bong to greet him with a hug around his shoulders.
“Hey, doll,” he greets her, a nice substitute for the name he can't remember.
The other woman, already topless and aside from the glittery nipple patches she wears, takes a long hit and blows smoke out the corner of her mouth.
The man, Julien, who he remembers from a previous sexual encounter, pats the area beside him, beckoning him to come closer and take a seat.
Dieter obliges.
By now, the haze of the drug washes over him, filling him with insatiable lust and amusement.
What feels like seconds later, he can’t be sure because his trip is messing with his time perception; the four of them are naked and engaging in debauchery.
Julien, a golden-skinned Adonis, has shed his clothes and stands with his cock out, begging to be licked.
The woman who greeted him with a hug, a little blue-haired harlot with eyes of sapphire, bounces on Dieter's cock, crossed-eyed with pleasure and dripping from her cunt. Woman number two, a purple-haired vixen, rides Dieter's face, gyrating on his tongue and dripping into his mouth while she moans in pleasure above and takes Julien's cock into her mouth.
The four of them fuck late into the night, high on a collection of drugs and lust. The chaotic, euphoric energy feeds into Dieter's power like in times before when mortals would sacrifice food and wine for him in his temples, only now it's their bodies they offer him.
And as he spills his divine seed into their loins, they spill their energy into the universe for him to consume.
Next week, he goes to Bonnaroo and can’t wait to do it all again.

blorbo question: what kinds of drugs do you think ed would be into? which ones would help him and which ones would make him feel worse?
Ok so I project onto Ed so this might be colored by my own drug experiences, but I'll do my best. I'll tell you generally what I think he'd like and the I'll put up a cut and go through all the ones I've done and tell you how I think Ed would be on them.
General before I get into specifics. Canonically he uses stimulants during the Kraken era and weed socially. However I do kinda feel like Rhino Horn is not his favorite drug just the most manageable way to get a hit of endorphins while also being able to oversee raids so he can break Ned Lowe's record. I am biased because I'm a psychedelic enjoyer, but Ed's a pretty confident guy who doesn't really second guess himself until after he acts (lbr the man did not second guess fucking knife parade for like multiple years and he doesn't apologize). Of course he also hates himself but I don't think that makes him not confident, which being confident and not immediately second guessing yourself is a great personality for producing good hallucinogenic experiences. Hallucinogens are usually great if you're not afraid of them. And I also think that Ed wants to be taken out of his life for a little bit and hallucinogens are conducive to that. I think he and Jack probably did a bit of P&P back in the day and I think ecstasy was probably their favorite because Jack is a tweaker and Ed is a psychedelics guy. Now that he and Stede are together he's doing poppers.
Onto specifics. What makes him better, what makes him worse
Ok here's the drugs I have experience with: Meth, Mushrooms, Weed, Coke, LSD, GHB, and DMT. So I'll just give you those.
Let's start with coke and weed because we have canon evidence for those.
Cocaine Rhino Horn- ok so for me personally coke kinda ain't shit. It's the best stimulant by far (ecstasy is a stimulant/hallucinogen so I'm not counting it because it's also something else) but it's still just sort of me but faster. I've said many a time that Coke is my ADHD meds but horny and Meth is like my ADHD meds but evil. I can drive on the shit literally better than I drive sober because I am less distracted. And before someone accuses me of micro dosing I can pack the shit away, I do twice as much as whoever I'm with and get half as high, every ounce of coke ive ever done was waisted on me. I have fun on it it's not a bad feeling but I it's like if coffee was poppers rather than a real drug. I think Ed probably has a similar experience here with being relatively coherent because we see him doing raids while high on the stuff. I think coke is giving him that little euphoria bump he needs to be passively suicidal instead of actively suicidal and not much else. That said once I did like three lines and then went to the wrong bus station subsequently missing my bus (I ordered my Uber before doing the coke so it was not the coke's fault) and I had a tantrum but I did not cry or start doom spiraling over the 200$ I was forced to pay, so I'm gonna go with a tentative better? For how coke makes Ed.
Weed- Ed also displays a high tolerance here, given that he shares a blunt with Mary and then he's sober in the next scene. That being said I think if he had more than half a blunt he would get emotional very quickly. If he's in a good mood he gets clingy and everyone around him is his favorite person and if he's in a bad mood he starts crying. Weed would make him worse and I know this about him
Meth- Tina is my enemy I hate her. They told me it was highly addictive and would make you crazy and then it just gave me insomnia and a weird bowl movement. Did you know while on meth you don't get hungry but you do get hangry? You can't sleep you can't eat but your body doesn't stop needing to eat and sleep. I've done meth exactly twice and once was on accident (the idiot I smoked shrooms with didn't clean his fucking pipe and I did not realize I had imbibed methamphetamine until about 24 hours later when I had been trying and failing to sleep for roughly 10 hours). Anyway I think given how hangry Ed gets meth would make him worse in every conceivable way. Meth also makes me more focused so I think he would invent some diabolical scheme and it would be a genuinely good one and then he would also lose his fucking mind and pulverize the next thing to surprise him after not eating for 18 hours (imagine the snake scene from 1x07 but on... Well on meth I guess) and cry because he is so so tired.
GHB- for those of you not in the know this is a depressant but not an opioid that is sometimes used as a daterape drug because it's got an incredibly dangerous interaction with alcohol but is mostly manageable on its own. It's not entirely dissimilar to high doses of alcohol in its high ill be honest, but maybe I just haven't had enough depressants to be able to tease apart their distinct personalities. I enjoyed this one but I think I'm gonna let my experience diverge from Ed's a little bit here. I don't think he would be a fan. He might be alright with it if he and Stede were doing it together as a sexual aid, but it tastes really bad, like putting bitterant directly into your mouth levels of bad, and we know Ed is a sweet tooth. The poor old man would also get tired on it a lot quicker than I did, and I remember laying there like I was asleep with a pleasant buzz in my brain and not really wanting to get up for quite a bit of it.
DMT- So dmt isn't good unless you're doing a near death experience type breakthrough trip otherwise you see some fun colors for 20 minutes and then it's over. I cannot speak to the breakthrough trip because I did it with a Grindr date and I did not want to be at his mercy for a half an hour while I was experiencing The Tunnel. However from what I've heard of the breakthrough trip, that shit is a mental game. You don't want to do that third rip but you've gotta. Ed loves to win at games and he's got some mental fortitude so I think he would flex how much he likes DMT. It would make him WORSE
LSD- I love her everyone loves her Lucy is my best friend. She's a bit... Lovecraftian but certainly not in a bad way. I think acid would really depend where Ed was at mentally. Like Ed when Stede is around would have a good time taking to the universe. I think that talking to the universe during the Kraken era could go really well or really really horrendously. On the one hand I wonder if ego death might actually be good for him? Like feeling like you're one with everything and like you aren't real could be either freeing for a guy who hates himself that much or it could end up making him hate everything because his self hatred could get as expensive as his dissolving ego. I think immediately pre Stede however acid would not be the best idea this is a vibe I'm getting. Acid has the potential to go either way on the better worse question.
Mushrooms- mushrooms have always been really nice to me but I need to be up and doing something while I'm on them. Totally a club drug for me. I know that's an insane thing to say but I think my brain chemistry may be fucked up. Anyway this does not make Ed better or worse but it does make him look at stuff and giggle which is objectively cute.

OMG im so glad this crossed my dash.
necessary drug info:
if you want to do hallucinogens GET A FRIEND TO BABYSIT. you ABSOLUTELY have a friend who is scared to do them and will be ok to be the responsible one. there are a lot of drugs that have a secondary depressive effect for hours or days after.
a kid in the grade below me in highschool jumped out a 12 story window and died because he was left alone after a trip. a friend i did mushrooms with cried during and after the trip for about 8 hours so she had to stay in a blanket cocoon the entire time being reminded to hydrate. she was fine.
the 17 year old kid who was accepted to an ivy didn't have a babysitter. my 20 year old friend did.
if you trip, set yourself up for success.
1. preload good movies to trip like "book of kels" and "song of the sea." any Gibli movie is good. you want visually complex nature or low key beauty. these are for when you are tired.
2. set up an art station with crayons and markers and lots of paper. this is for when you feel manic
3. trip on the lower floor of a building and pick somewhere with outdoor space that is safe and isolated from hostile people. have blankets and soft textures around. you might get overwhelmed and it's important to have a way to create safety.
4. HAVE A BABYSITTER WHO IS GOOD WITH PEOPLE AND WON'T LEAVE YOU GUYS IF IT'S BORING. make sure they have something to do and gift them afterwards or before because they have basically agreed to a long days work.
5. have healthy and unhealthy snacks and drinks (do not have THC snacks around or you will double dose and FEEL BAD.) do not have alcohol for the trippers (it should only be around for the babysitter if at all.) there should be enough for everyone for at least 48 hours of food and hydration.
6. obviously have different types of music available. you might think you are going to want to listen to pink Floyd but really you end up wanting to listen to 3 hours of baby shark. you aren't in control of where the trip takes you. be not ashamed.
7. lsd has side effects for around 2 months+. trips should be separated by multiple months or years not days and weeks.
8. acid and shrooms take two to three hours to activate. DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE DIP. you will think you got scammed (because you are already kind of high and will think its a GREAT IDEA. you are wrong.) You might have gotten scammed but accept that you have burned the day and if you were, sorry. try again at a later date.
9. VERY IMPORTANT! the trip is all day. 24+ hours. do not start at night or you will be up all night, and morning, and tripping at night sucks. you miss out on sunlight through leaves and the colors of grass and the sky, the wind through the trees. don't waste your time. any hallucinogen has a stimulant effect so you will not sleep. pick a day where you have nothing to do the next day or two and start bright and early.
10. know the drug you will be taking. lsd is mathy, arty and thinky. mushrooms are foresty, hippy, and gentle.
ecstasy and K are not like either lsd or shrooms and the rules are different. E is a party drug that is safe to do in crowds and outside with minimal supervision. K is a setative and you might literally take it and just fall asleep on the floor before leaving the house. both are fine so roll with where it wants you to go. both have a shorter lifespan but be careful because they are often laced with other stuff. drink water!!!! people die from dehydration on it. it leaves you very depressed the next day so check in with each other. a conversation can save a life.
i was an EMT briefly and attended a very liberal college. drug prep and info is the key to having a good time and living well. all of these drugs have been shown to decrease depression long term but that does not mean they don't have other mood effects. you need to be extra and create the conditions for a good time.
safe flying.
why do so many teenagers follow me. you know i do drugs right.

Nasty MAGA habits.
Tumblr media
April 24, 2025
If you've ever wondered why Big Pharma loves the Republican Party, perhaps the reason is that so many of its prominent MAGA leaders habitually abuse the industry's products.
In a report released February 2024, the Defense Department's Inspector General detailed how the Trump White House during his first term was literally "awash" in drugs, including the stimulant modafinil, the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, and even fentanyl.
But plenty of other Republicans are known for using and abusing controlled substances. According to a House ethics report, former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz, Trump's first appalling choice for attorney general, made payments of more than $90,000 "that the Committee determined were likely in connection with sexual activity and/or drug use."
While Gaetz denies any drug use, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, pleaded guilty to felony heroin possession in South Dakota in 1984. Admitted Kennedy, “I was a heroin addict for 14 years."
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, Trump's co-president and DOGE dictator, openly talks about his use of the hallucinogenic drug ketamine. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reports that top executives and board members at Tesla and SpaceX fear Musk's "use of drugs — including LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, mushrooms and ketamine — could harm his companies."
Then there's Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's much-publicized (and much-ignored) abuse of alcohol. Plus, pillow salesman and lunatic Trump supporter Mike Lindell's admitted abuse of crack cocaine. Lindell's drug addiction got so bad that in 2008 his three dealers had to stage an intervention.
Larry Kudlow, Trump's top economic advisor during his first term, had a known history of cocaine and alcohol addiction. Plus, there's long been speculation that Trump's hyperactive failson, Don Junior, is a cocaine user. Even though he once declared, "I don’t snort cocaine! It’s just not my thing.” One incredulous Internet wag quipped that maybe he "just likes the way it smells.”
Finally, there's Donald Trump himself with his well-documented use of Adderall, a drug often prescribed to treat ADHD by improving focus and concentration. Dr. John Kruse, an expert in ADHD, suggests Trump intentionally uses Adderall to reduce his own Attention Deficit Disorder symptoms. True or not, several individuals, including Noel Casler, who worked on the reality game show The Apprentice, have claimed that Trump routinely snorted Adderall while on the set.
And we've not even scratched the surface of MAGA druggies. There's also North Carolina congressman Madison Cawthorn, accused of participating in drug-fueled orgies in 2022. And Virginia state lawmaker Matt Fariss, who pleaded guilty to meth possession last year. Apparently, Republican Trumpism is a gateway drug to other harmful addictions.

Drug Use and Abuse Drug abuse Caetano (1997, 58) in his studies describe drug abuse as the poor pattern of substance or drug consumption that results to harm on one's health and when you think about the word drugs, what comes to mind? It's in our human nature to instantly think about someone using crack or codeine. So therefore; we just stereo-typed someone we knew nothing about, it's what makes us humans. On the other hand, what about those people who using drugs prescribe to them by their doctor. This paper is going to talk about the good and bad of drug from the writer point-of-view. In the end hopefully you will see it as I see it through my eyes. The thesis statement for this essay is that drugs consumed over a long period of time is dangerous since it has been proven that it damages the brain and changes one's physical appearance. Thou at times drugs are recommended in prescriptions thesis argues that excessive consumption, unregulated or prolonged consumption has negative consequences to a person's general health. Overview The centre for medical research recently released a report which stated that currently in the market there are various drugs that have been manufactured with little considerations to quality measures and controls of standards this is so because they are manufactured by non-professionals in home-based labs. This means that the dosage level is something of uncertainty and even there are possibilities of the existence of harmful ingredients in such drugs. This reports recommend that users should be aware of the physical damage they are exposing themselves while using such drugs since they can also limit the ability for one to set his or her limits. Types of drugs exist in five distinct classes and one of them is club and date rape drugs under which there are drugs such as GHB, Rohypnol or roofies, ecstasy, Ketamine. Under the stimulants drugs there are amphetamines, caffeine, diet pills or anorectic drugs, cocaine and methamphetamines. Under depressants there are barbiturates, benzodiazepines and alcohol. While the Hallucinogens comprise of psilocybin, DMT, LSD, peyote and mescaline and PCP. For narcotics drugs there are codeine, heroin, opium and morphine. It is important to note that in the different clusters of drugs that have just been mentioned above, there are those drugs that are used to alter the behavior or mood of a person of which some are generally accepted in the community, for example drinking coffee. Further more there are drugs that can also be prescribed as medication and are obtained over-the-counter for use in reducing pain or to suppress appetite, an example of such a drug is marijuana which has been legalized in some states like California and Arizona. However with frequent use of these drugs they are likely to show signs of interfering with the normal functioning of one's body and hence the drug use has turned into drug abuse. Jaffe (2005, 284-324) described in his book that an individual will exhibit substance abuse problem when they continue to use some form of drugs or the so-called medication despite the recurring, physical, psychological, social or occupational problems associated with their use. The National Institute of Mental Health have attributed the cause of most death, disability, premature and preventable illness to substance abuse, cigarettes, alcohol abuse, legal and illegal drugs, medication and other mood-altering substances. Marijuana as an advantageous drug Despite the earlier government tough stand on marijuana use of which possession and use of it could have attracted a huge criminal penalty under the United States drugs law, the government was forced to back down on this tough stand when reportedly in the 1980's research proved that therapeutic marijuana can help in the changing diseases prevalence like cancer and AIDS. By 1996 states such as Arizona and California had approved the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, this approval was attained through the States' ballot initiatives. The reforms in this law lead to the development and subsequent production of marinol, which is a synthetic analogue of the principal active agent in marijuana and seemingly responsible for most its' psychotropic and medicinal properties. However, O'Donohue and Ferguson (2006 335-350) both critics of the legalizations of marijuana for medicinal purposes argues that there are many families in the United States whose lives have been negatively affected by heavy use of marijuana; O'Donohue and Ferguson further argues that marijuana is easily addictive and can't be relied upon as temporal use only for medicinal purpose. Moreover, according to the National Institute for Mental Health marijuana use is the leading cause of mental illness and disorder; frequent users have developed mental problems due to the in take of excessive marijuana. Risks and dangers of drug abuse According to Lowinson, et al. (2005, 251-265) the most commonly abused drugs include alcohol, opium alkaloids, barbiturates, methaqualone, amphetamine, cocaine and minor tranquilizers. The dependence and over-indulgence in these drugs has effects that negatively impair the user's mental health, physical health and the welfare of those around him or her. The pathological use of drugs leads to adverse negative social repercussions as users tend to failure in obligations that relate to family matters, work or school, the users are also prone to interpersonal problems or being caught on the wrong side of the law i.e. legal problems. In the studies conducted by Glasscote et al. (2002, 122-131) the risks of drugs abuse have been enlisted but they are dependant upon the level of intake but the first major risk factor so listed in this studies is the health problems, this evident in the effective visuals used for this essay, from the mere look at the face of the women they show a person with poor health conditions of which is deteriorating with the consistent use of drugs. Drugs abuse exposes the abuser to violence, suicides, homicides, morbidity, injuries, unprotected sex, psychological addiction or psychological dependence. Research has shown that drug abusers are most likely to commit suicide because of the long abuse of drugs that has resulted in them been socially isolated as well as the distortion of their brain chemistry. The intoxication effect of the drugs is a contributing factor in suicide by drug abusers. The findings of this research showed that one out of four suicides among the adolescent age group of Americans is caused by alcohol abuse and on the national level thirty percent of suicide cases in the United States are related to alcohol abuse. Lowinson et al. (2005, 87-101) asserts that alcohol abuse put the abuser at risk of committing crimes such as assaults, rapes, domestic violence, child abuse and burglaries. Signs and symptoms of drug abuse Mental illness is one among the many symptoms of drugs abuse and it is exhibited when the abusers is still abusing the drugs or at the withdrawal state when the abuser wants to quit the addiction. In some cases psychiatric disorder such as depression or prolonged psychosis will still be exhibited in a drug abuser who has been cleaned through detoxification. Abuse of specific drugs such as cannabis causes panic attacks when the abuser is under the influence and also a state of dysthymia. As for hallucinogens abusers may experience delusions and other psychotic phenomena long after quitting its use. Those who abuse alcohol usually show signs of severe anxiety and depression. Drug abuse usually affects the central nervous system and the abuser is likely to have changes in moods, awareness level or perception and sensations as a result of the impact of the drug on the central nervous system. Benzodiazepines has been touted to be the most notable drug that has the most prolonged withdrawal effects with signs and symptoms at times persisting for years after quitting from the abuse. However it is important to note that the signs and symptoms usually fade away after a long period of abstinence. Incidences and prevalence in the case of alcohol abuse Reports released by the National Institute of Health show that over 7.4% of the American population are either dependent or abuse alcoholic drinks. The dependency among the men is higher than those of women as men are five times more dependent on alcohol than women. The reports also classified the prevalence of alcohol abuse into two types, namely alcoholism which reportedly fourteen million Americans suffer from and the alcohol dependency prevalence of which also fourteen million Americans suffer from including women who are estimated to 4.6 million. Caetano (1997, 565-572). noted in his studies that the incidence of alcohol abuse in the American society appear to be coined around socio-cultural, psychological and biological factors, (Bachman, O'Malley and Johnston (2004, 629-645) also shared the same observation in their studies as they are quoted saying that "a child who has a parent with alcohol-related disorder has higher chances of becoming an alcoholic unlike a child whose parent doesn't suffer from the same. According to information released by the Illinois criminal justice information authority on drug arrest in the state; the report also used as indicator to measure the level of alcohol abuse in the state showed that the central Illinois is the most affected with high number of alcohol abuse related cases. Over the past two-decade the state of Illinois has posted an increase in the prevalence/incidence rate of alcohol abuse and fact that has prompted the opening of many rehabilitation centers in the state. Preventive measures Statistics showed that nearly more than two thousand five hundred children experiment with prescription medication that are home based and that one in every five children has abused a prescription medication. Such statistics prompted the Massachusetts legislature to enact a law that required all pharmacy's located within the Commonwealth region to display in their counters or rather fifty feet from the counter an offer for sale of medical lock box that are designed for home consumption. Concurrently there have been products that were developed to act as a preventive measure, an example of this is the Rx Drug SAFE, which is a medical box designed for homes and only opens after recognizing an authorized fingerprint the Rx Drug SAFE helps to prevent unauthorized access to the prescription medication mostly by the minors, thereby preventing drug or medication abuse. Similar move has been touted by medical specialists who have suggested that parents lock alcoholic substances away from reach of their children who seeming turn to alcohol abusers when their parents are away. Treatment Jaffe (2005, 284-324) in his studies applied the behavioral theory in his suggestion of a treatment plan for drug abusers, he stipulates that there are behavioral medication and interventions that are currently available and can be used to help drug abusers reduce or quit from their drug abuse behavior. Behavioral psychologist have outlined an evidenced based intervention for drug users key among them include motivational interviewing, behavioral marital therapy, exposure therapy, community reinforcement approach and pharmacological therapy which is series of medication that has been approved for the treatment of drug abuse. These comprise of replacement therapy and antagonist medications. Impact of drug abuse According to statistics released by the Centre for disease control, alcohol abuse has led to the increased number of traffic accidents in the U.S. As there are over one hundred thousand annually reported cases alcohol related deaths on the road and related injuries. Bachman, O'Malley and Johnston (2004, 47) attributed the nearly half of the cases of rape in the U.S. To be caused by alcohol abuse, alcoholic parents were more likely to abuse their children and more than forty percent cases of suicide are related to alcohol abuse. The American economy hasn't being spared either, as reports show that in the year 1999 alcohol abuse cost the economy a whooping 150 billion dollars and the number of babies who are born with problems attributed to their mothers alcohol disorder is also alarming, for example 2.9% of every one thousand live births in the United States have fetal alcohol syndrome In the United Kingdom reports from the Home Office show that that drug abuse has caused the society and the country's economy a staggering twenty billion pounds annually in terms of the drug related absenteeism, sickness and crime. Effective visuals Example 1: These photos illustrate the neighbor next door, a middle class woman in her mid thirties, on Methamphetamine (also known as: ice, speed, or crystal). Over the course of ten years these photo shows what methamphetamine has done to the physical appearance of this woman. Example 2 This graph shows the statistics of people who use certain drugs ranging from all ages. Marijuana is the most common drug used among teenager. Millions of people use each of these drugs some more often than other. Conclusion Drug abuse not only in the American society but also in the World as a whole poses an alarming danger to the survival of the entire universe, because at least 1.8 million deaths in each year are attributed to drug causes and the damage to human life also know as DALY's, that occur annually attribute sixty percent to drug abuse. The essay has tried to spell out even the good of drug using the case example of marijuana, which has been touted for its' medicinal benefits. However, this positive attribute to marijuana has been quickly down washed by the dangers it poses to users and also the fact that drugs are easily addictive makes no drugs or substance any better. Take the example of simple pain killer, once the pain is going people tend to rely on them when the pain comes back creating dependency that will eventually turn to abuse. Responsive measures such as the "healthy people 2020 objectives" should be encouraged and other preventive measure should be put in place to prevent drug abuse and dependency from becoming a national disaster. The impact of drug abuse that have been mentioned justify the need for more expenditure of resources for dealing with the problem and the study recommends that this problem could be resolved effectively if more focus was given on maternal homes where prescription drugs or alcohol consumption initially starts. The synthetic drug ecstasy, often known as MDMA, Molly, or ecstasy has stimulant and hallucinogenic effects. Ecstasy has been Popular since the 1980s, and now it's mosrly popular among young individuals (20–30 years old) . Despite its seeming innocent, MDMA addiction has serious risks to one's bodily and emotional well-being. Why Is Ecstasy Dangerous? MDMA affects brain chemistry, causing euphoria, energy bursts, and emotional warmth. However, its dangers include: Contamination — Street ecstasy is often mixed with methamphetamine, caffeine, or unknown chemicals, raising overdose risks. Health Risks — Combined with alcohol or other drugs, MDMA can cause dehydration, overheating (hyperthermia), organ failure, and heart complications. Addiction — Addiction: Regular usage causes tolerance, which leads to increased dosages. Ecstasy takes the place of natural joy, leading to emotional numbness and dependence. Addiction to MDMA frequently leads to cravings and difficulty quitting. Sometimes it can cause death. Withdrawal symptoms include mood swings, anxiety, hopelessness, and insomnia. Recovery and Treatment for Addiction Overcoming an ecstasy addiction requires professional guidance. Inpatient rehabilitation offers both therapy and medical care. Long-term addiction therapy involves care in a treatment facility in Los Angeles or elsewhere. The first step in overcoming MDMA addiction is being aware of the effects.

We value the trust of the clients, that is the reason why we have become famous all around. Today, in this blog, we are going to shed some light on how drugs induce these profound changes in perception.
Tumblr media
1. Neurotransmitter Disruption
Many drugs that causes hallucinations affect the brain's neurotransmitter systems, which are responsible for communication between neurons.
Serotonin: Hallucinogenic drugs like LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), and MDMA (ecstasy) primarily affect serotonin receptors. They mimic serotonin or increase its release, leading to altered mood, perception, and cognition.
Dopamine: Drugs like cocaine and amphetamines increase dopamine levels, which can lead to heightened sensory perception and hallucinations.
Glutamate: NMDA receptor antagonists like PCP (phencyclidine) and ketamine affect the glutamate system, disrupting normal brain function and leading to dissociative states and hallucinations.
2. Altered Sensory Processing
Drugs can interfere with how sensory information is processed in the brain, leading to hallucinations.
Thalamus and Cortex Interaction: The thalamus acts as a relay center for sensory information. Hallucinogens can disrupt the normal flow of information between the thalamus and the cortex, causing distorted sensory perceptions.
Visual Cortex: Drugs affecting the visual cortex can lead to vivid visual hallucinations, such as seeing patterns, colors, or shapes that aren't there.
3. Disrupted Brain Connectivity
Hallucinogenic drugs can alter the connectivity between different regions of the brain, leading to unusual sensory experiences.
Default Mode Network (DMN): The DMN is involved in self-referential thoughts and daydreaming. Drugs like LSD and psilocybin reduce the activity of the DMN, leading to a breakdown of the sense of self and more vivid hallucinations.
Hyperconnectivity: Increased connectivity between different brain regions can result in synesthesia, where stimulation of one sensory pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in another pathway (e.g., seeing sounds or hearing colors).

“can get weed oil and vape but JL doesn’t do those kind of drugs I think maybe other drugs like Molly”. -Anon, help me understand what it is that would make you think “Mr. So Healthy I Bring My Own Food to a 5 Star Chef Catered Hollywood Affair” would prefer illegal ecstasy, a potent stimulant and hallucinogenic to THC which is perfectly safe and legal in private venues in Nevada? Where is any evidence he does either or any drugs at all at this point in his career, particularly in public and when he is hanging out with his drug-addict brother trying to stay sober ? 🧐
Tbh that druggie "sighting" sounded about as valid as that "JL was out and about with Diane Keaton and EmRata" thing on Deux. 😂

MDMA (3-4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic, psychoactive drug with a chemical structure
MDMA (3-4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic, psychoactive drug with a chemical structure similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. It commonly referred to as Ecstasy or Molly by users.
MDMA is an illegal drug that acts as both a stimulant and psychedelic, producing an energizing effect, as well as distortions in time and perception and enhanced enjoyment from tactile experiences.
MDMA is a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act, which means that the DEA has determined that it has no medical benefit and a high potential for abuse.
MDMA was first synthesized by a German company in 1912, possibly to be used as an appetite suppressant. It has been available as a street drug since the 1980s, and use escalated in the 1990s among college students and young adults.
Then, it was most often distributed at late-night parties called "raves", nightclubs, and rock concerts.

Understanding Ecstasy Addiction and Its Effects
Tumblr media
Most people are familiar with the drug Ecstasy, which is a common name for the chemical substance methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA). MDMA is often seen as an innocent, recreational drug, but is it really safe? Is ecstasy addictive? The article found at Banyan Treatment Center explains the problem with ecstasy and the dangers of using it. Ecstasy is a stimulant and hallucinogenic drug that affects the release of dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline in the brain. When taken regularly or in high doses, it could lead to physical and psychological dependence and an uncontrollable urge to take more and more of the drug. The physical effects of Ecstasy include dehydration, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, and muscle tension. Psychological effects include confusion and paranoia. These effects can last several days after taking the drug. Long-term users may suffer various psychological impairments, including memory deficits, difficulty concentrating, and withdrawal symptoms. When physical and psychological addiction sets in, that’s when ecstasy becomes a real problem. The addiction might cause a number of other problems in the user’s life, including poor academic performance, difficulty forming relationships, and depression. Here are some key points about Ecstasy abuse:
Using Ecstasy for an extended period or in high doses can lead to physical and psychological dependence
Physical effects of Ecstasy can include dehydration, increased blood pressure, and increased heart rate
Long-term effects of Ecstasy use can include memory deficits, depression, and difficulty forming relationships
It’s essential to seek help if you or a loved one is struggling with addiction to ecstasy. Professional addiction treatment centers can assess the situation and provide targeted, individualized treatment to get the individual back on the right track. Early detection and treatment are key to helping prevent ecstasy addiction from becoming a chronic problem. Psychedelic Therapy Psychedelic or hallucinogenic drugs are drugs, which lead users to form hallucinations or imagine that they hear or see things (Kurztweil 1995). They are known for their abusive use. Examples of these are LSD and ibogaine, mescaline, MDMA, DMT, PCP, psilocybin, psilocin and ET or "Trip." Some of them grow naturally as roots of a rain forest shrub, while some, like the MDMA, are illegally prepared in the laboratory. These drugs have separate and distinct properties but share a common ability to alter perceptions or produce hallucinatory experience (Kurtzeil). A sampling of 139 respondents was surveyed on the frequency of their use of 10 psychoactive drugs (Luke 2005). These were cannabis, relaxants, ecstasy and other emphatogens, dissociatives, and other types. Findings of this paper supported the results of earlier researches and observations. In addition, these findings identified a group of paranormal and mystical experiences as occurring with the use of different psychoactive drugs. Some of them appear to help in the greater understanding of experiences of ESP. Examples are cannabis, Psilocybe mushrooms, DXM. Mescaline, and LSD. Other substances may have value in understanding out-of-body experience and near-death experiences. Examples of these are nitrous oxide and MEO-DMT. The study emphasized that the states, rather than the major chemical components themselves, which the substances induce. This means that the factors of set, setting, intention and expectation and individual neurochemistry are the most important determinants of the experience (Luke). It is not certain whether these chemically induced subjective experiences link up with paranormal phenomena (Luke 2005). Findings only clarified that these psychedelic drugs are accompanied by many and different transpersonal and psi experiences, which present as spontaneous occurrences. Recording these experiences can be made under tight experimental control. If done, it can provide substantial information on the psychological experience of the psi and its neurochemistry (Luke). For the first time in three decades, human studies on LSD have increased (Kotler 2005). Many of these researcher said this should have happened earlier or sooner. Many researchers said that hallucinogens disappeared in research laboratories because of the scare for drugs like methamphetamines and heroin and the war on drugs. One research organization was the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, which funded much of such research work on LSD. According to its researchers, there was little evidence that psychedelic drugs are addictive or more dangerous that other stimulants, like alcohol and marijuana. They noted that advances from disease treatment to consciousness studies and basic psychological research suffered a dent on account of this. They looked to these new studies as an important first step to the recovery of missed information. This new development occurred in the early 90s when the Food and Drug Administration ran out of justifications to avoid the research of these prohibited drugs. Scientists looked into the possibility of treating conditions with hallucinogens. In 1960, researcher Eric Kast found that the use of LSD relieved anxiety in terminally ill cancer patients. Rick Doblin of the Multidisciplinary Association is currently studying psilocybin in the treatment of anxiety in late-stage cancer patients. Charles Grob of the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center stressed that psychedelics peaked for 50 years. Much research was funded in this field in the 40s and 50s. Many also felt that hallucinogens have an important part in modern psychiatry. The discovery of the neurotransmitter serotonin spearheaded the brain chemistry revolution (Kotler). In the meantime, two small studies investigated the use of psychedelic substances in alleviating anxiety and improving the quality of life in terminally ill cancer patients (J Klotter 2005). The present practice is to give pharmaceutical drugs to anxious patients who are told that they have less than a year to live. These drugs dull the mind or produce a feeling of edginess. This condition deprives the dying patient the chance to think clearly in resolving family and financial matters and confront his approaching death with peace of mind. In 2004, Dr. Grob derived psilocybin from psychedelic mushrooms. He used the substance with 12 Stage-4 cancer patients who were studied after their sessions with their psychiatrist. Dr. Grob found that the first few patients showed reduced anxiety levels, improved mood and rapport with close family and friends and substantial reduction of pain. In December 2004, Harvard researchers acquired the approval of the Food and Drug Administration for the use of MDMA or ecstasy in the reduction of severe anxiety in patients with advanced cancer. Similar to the psilocybin test, 12 patients would participate in the MDMA test and undergo the same procedure. The researchers would focus on the ability of the combination to dispel anxiety and fears. If successful, the experiment would trigger larger experiments using MDMA on terminal patients and with the approval of the federal government (Klotter). The current question is whether the powerful neurotoxin of MDMA would be an effective therapy (Spun 2002). Scientists know little about the long-term effects of MDMA on the brain as the most commonly prescribed psychotropics. Misinformation and mythology commonly characterize the war on drugs as in the mental health community. Mind-altering drugs have been accused of many serious side effects. These include paralysis, coma, hysteria, suicidal idealization and violent behavior, arrhythmia, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, ulcers, colitis, hepatitis, incontinence, gout, hyperthyroidism, psoriasis, osteoporosis, abortion, glaucoma, deafness, loss of taste and sexual dysfunction. The most widely prescribed mind-altering drug is Prozac. Millions use it without knowing its potentially deadly side effects. It has been reported that psychotropics, like Prozac, have been linked with bizarre and deadly incidents. Like Paxil and Zoloft, Prozac is a serotonin selective reuptake inhibitor used for depression. Serotonin as a neurotransmitter is a chemical, which facilitates communication within the brain. Those who have used it said that the serotonin component produces a sense of "happiness" when it is released into the synapses. Antidepressants are believed to prevent reabsorption of serotonin and lengthen the sense of "happiness." But what evidence shows something else. Nonetheless, more and more people suffering from mild depression are prescribed psychotropics. Reports say that 6 million children between 6 and 18 are taking mind-altering drugs. Some argue against the use of psychotropics. But some contend that these drugs are used as a speedy or take-home solution instead of in conjunction with therapy and careful observation. Using it may be doing more than simply "freeing" the mind from the cause of depression or anxiety. No one can tell the damage it does to the brain after a lifetime of use even as treatment (Spun). Just the same, doctors are bent on using MDMA or ecstasy on their patients (Spun 2002). They were already doing so and succeeding at it before it was banned in the mid-80s. Some patients achieved overnight successes. In some couples, long-term issues were resolved with its use. Its proponents said that it was declared illegal and a ban imposed because of its rampant abuse at night clubs. MDMA differs from serotonin. Instead of just affecting serotonin, ecstasy floods neurons with neurotransmitters, including dopamine and noradrenaline. But unlike Prozac, ecstasy seems to reduce depression, anxiety and other emotional distresses immediately. Doblin estimated that for every 2 million users, there was one directly related death. Ecstasy is prepared with sometimes-deadly substances, which can be responsible for many related deaths. Nevertheless, Doblin believed that this should not stand on the way of approval for research. He said that the most common MDMA-related deaths grew out of overheating or over-hydration. No one had died while on MDMA therapy. As a matter of fact, research suggested it could be useful in relieving stress. But things go against it. It has a bad image, its patent had expired. Ecstasy is given only under strict control, in small doses and limited therapy sessions over a lifetime. Thus, ecstasy has limited potentials for harm and huge profitability of a standard psychotropic. Doblin, however, expressed apprehensions. Ecstasy was known to trigger anxiety attacks and psychotic breakdowns. Users experienced severe depressive periods who later begged for tranquilizers. Advocates of MDMA said that with proper controls, the drug would free sufferers to experience emotions and memories they could not confront without the support (Spun). Scientists at the Orenda Institute in Baltimore would test the use of LSD on patients addicted to drugs (Kurtzweil 1995). LSD belongs in Schedule I drugs. Schedule I drugs have a high potential for abuse, possess an unacceptable safety risk and have no acceptable medical use. But the FDA would allow tests on LSD and other Schedule I psychedelic drugs for any medical usefulness. Scientists in a Baltimore study wanted to determine the use of LSD in the treatment of addiction to heroin, opium, alcohol and sedative hypnotics. Others would test the effect of the drug ibogaine on cocaine addiction. Still others would be interested on developing antidotes to drug overdose and in relieving pain in cancer patients. LSD, however, can have adverse effects. It can dilate the pupils; increase body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and sweating; loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth and tremors. It may also induce flashbacks, spontaneous recurrences of certain aspects of the user's "trip." Long-term use may develop psychoses, like schizophrenia and severe depression. The use of MDMA may produce psychological difficulties, like confusion, depression, sleep problems, drug craving, severe anxiety and paranoia, even weeks after the use of the drug. MSMA develops symptoms, such as muscle tension, nausea, blurred vision, rapid eye movements, faintness, chills, sweating, and increased heart rate and blood pressure. it, therefore, poses a special risk for those with heart disease. Overuse can lead to death (Kurtzweil). West Africans used ibogaine as a stimulant and aphrodisiac in the early 1900s (Kurtzweil 1995). Native Americans used mescaline from peyote cactus in religious rituals. LSD was first synthesized in 1938. Throughout history, it was considered a source of many types of medications. Its psychedelic effects were first discovered in 1943. Two decades after World War II, LSD was used to determine its effects on patients with schizophrenia and other mental disorders. It was then studied for its use in psychotherapy for alcoholics and cancer patients. In the mid-70s, research was halted on account of its possible unpredictable side effects and abuse. Its illicit and unsupervised use by young adults in the 60s made the use of psychedelic drugs a major public concern. The drugs were also associated with "hippies," and thus had negative social implications (Kurtzweil). A study of 135 alcoholics in the 60s showed that 53% of a high-dose group treated with LSD showed abstinence as against only 33% in a low-dose group (Kurtzweil 1995). Alcoholics who received conventional therapy registered a 12% improvement. Another study surveyed 31 cancer patients who suffered from anxiety, depression and severe pain. From this number, 71% showed improvement after each LSD session. Many cancer patients receiving LSA also said that their desire for addictive pain medicines, like morphine, disappeared with the pain. Another medical research reported that 29 out of 35 patients successfully treated with ibogaine were unsuccessfully treated with other modalities. A new wave of researchers was undertaken in the late 80s with the support of advances in brain chemistry. The FDA granted IND status to certain psychedelic drugs in the past years. An IND status means that these drugs have been studied in the laboratory for their major physical and chemical properties and then tests on laboratory animals for pharmacologic and toxic effects. In granting an IND status, FDA carefully insures that its safety and scientific standards are met under controlled conditions. Scientists who would use these should apply to the Drug Enforcement Administration for a Schedule I permit. To receive IND approval, researcher must document a suitable drug source with satisfactory manufacturing capabilities and procedures. This was a problem because only few reputable U.S. drug manufacturers produced these drugs. In order to obtain high-quality drugs, psychedelic researchers relied on European manufacturers, hospital pharmacies and university chemistry laboratories (Kurtzweil). Another area of concern was recruiting subjects (Kurtzwei 1995). Experienced psychedelic users were preferred and their identities had to be protected in these studies. Subjects were, therefore, closely monitored in the clinical setting by one or more health professionals. Researchers projected the uses of their research. Scientists at the University of New Mexico projected the uses of their research. They foresaw that they could develop treatments for drug overdoses. They felt that if they could establish how these drugs worked, they could treat those who came to the emergency room because of a panic reaction. Other scientists believed that their research could provide them with better understanding about the human brain. Dr. Stephen Szara of the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 1994 wrote that recent advances on the neurosciences and cognitive sciences could prove to be suitable means into exploring the mystery of the brain. He said that those conducting the investigations were very committed professionals who would want to evaluate what these drugs can really do (Kurtzweil). Bibliography Kotler, Steven. Drugs in Rehab. Navigating Ecstasy: A Guide to Avoiding Its Traps
In today's dynamic society, individuals often seek ways to enhance their experiences and temporarily escape the demands of daily life. Unfortunately, some turn to recreational drugs, and among them, ecstasy, also known as MDMA, has gained popularity. This article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of what ecstasy is, its effects, and practical strategies to avoid its potential dangers.
Unveiling Ecstasy
Ecstasy is a synthetic psychoactive substance that alters mood and perception. Its primary component, 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), possesses stimulant and hallucinogenic properties. Typically available in tablet form, ecstasy tablets are often imprinted with distinct logos or symbols. It is commonly associated with recreational use in party and club environments, where it is believed to amplify feelings of euphoria, empathy, and sociability.
Effects and Hazards of Ecstasy
Upon ingestion, ecstasy prompts the release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, leading to altered brain activity. Users often experience a surge of positive emotions, heightened sociability, and intensified sensory perception. Physical manifestations may include increased energy levels, dilated pupils, an elevated heart rate, and an elevated body temperature. These effects typically last for a few hours.
Repeated use of ecstasy can have detrimental effects on both physical and mental health. Chronic usage may result in memory issues, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, and diminished cognitive function. Long-term reliance on the drug can lead to addiction as the brain becomes dependent on it to regulate mood and pleasure.
Strategies to Evade Ecstasy and Its Perils
A key step in avoiding the perils of ecstasy is educating oneself and others about its potential risks. Stay informed about the drug's effects, both short-term and long-term, through reliable sources like medical professionals, reputable websites, and government resources. This knowledge empowers individuals to make informed choices and discourages experimentation among others.

What Is Ecstasy Made from, and What Are Its Effects on the Body?
Ecstasy, commonly referred to as MDMA, is a synthetic drug that is typically produced in clandestine laboratories. The exact composition of ecstasy tablets can vary significantly, as they are often adulterated with other substances. ecstasy hulk. However, the primary active ingredient in ecstasy is MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine).
Tumblr media
MDMA affects the body by altering the activity of neurotransmitters, particularly serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Here are some of the effects it can have on the body:
Euphoria and increased sociability: MDMA induces feelings of intense happiness, pleasure, and well-being. Users often experience a sense of euphoria and heightened sociability, feeling more open, talkative, and connected to others.
Enhanced empathy and emotional openness: MDMA increases feelings of empathy and emotional sensitivity. hulk ecstasy. Users may experience a greater ability to understand and connect with the emotions and experiences of others, leading to a sense of emotional closeness and bonding.
Increased sensory perception: MDMA heightens sensory perception, making music, lights, and other sensory stimuli more intense and pleasurable. Many individuals who use MDMA in a recreational setting report an enhanced appreciation for music and dancing.
Increased energy and stimulation: MDMA is a stimulant that increases energy levels, alertness, and wakefulness. Users often feel more physically and mentally stimulated, with a heightened sense of motivation and focus.
Altered perception of time: MDMA can distort the perception of time, with users reporting a sense of time passing more quickly or slowly.
While ecstasy can produce these desired effects, it also carries potential risks and adverse effects on the body, including:
Cardiovascular effects: MDMA can increase heart rate and blood pressure, potentially leading to cardiovascular problems, particularly in individuals with pre-existing conditions.
Hyperthermia: MDMA can interfere with the body's temperature regulation, resulting in a significant increase in body temperature (hyperthermia). This can lead to severe health complications, including organ failure and even death.
Dehydration: MDMA use can cause dehydration due to increased sweating and an increased need for water to regulate body temperature. It is crucial to stay hydrated while using MDMA to avoid dehydration and its associated risks.
Jaw clenching and teeth grinding: MDMA use often leads to jaw clenching and teeth grinding, known as bruxism. This can cause jaw discomfort, soreness, and dental problems.
Neurotoxicity: Prolonged or excessive use of MDMA has been associated with neurotoxic effects, which can lead to long-term cognitive impairments and changes in brain function.
Psychological effects: MDMA use can result in psychological effects such as anxiety, paranoia, depression, and memory problems. Some individuals may also experience a "comedown" or "crash" after the drug's effects wear off, which can involve feelings of depression and fatigue.
It is important to note that ecstasy tablets sold illegally often contain additional substances, which can further increase the risks and potential side effects associated with MDMA use. Adulterants can include other stimulants, hallucinogens, or even potentially toxic substances.
If you or someone you know is using ecstasy or considering using it, it is crucial to prioritize personal health and safety. Seeking professional advice and assistance from healthcare providers or addiction specialists can provide guidance, support, and resources for informed decision-making and potential treatment.
