Hiya! I'd like to ask how do you do your ms paint art? Do you first make the outlines and then colours, or perhaps vice versa? I really adore your ms paint art and would love to know the process (for practice purposes:))

Depends! My two strategies, featuring Cactus Gunman of Gregory Horror Show fame:

I often just color right on top of my sketches when I'm being silly + designing characters + just trying to figure out what something looks like (and tend to use this to fiddle with details and colors) It's usually quicker for me to end up with something that I'm happy with.

Most of the time when I bother to do separate, cleaner line art, it's because I'm making a graphic for my website. LOL. I think it feels a little more cartoonish-silly, which is usually what I'm going for when I decide to do this. It's also a bit harder to make large changes to whatever I'm drawing, so I'm usually working off of a messier thing I've already made.

(Technically, I no longer use MS Paint and instead use Aseprite due to becoming a Linux user, but nothing has really changed about the way I draw + all of this can be done in MS Paint just fine.)

#I've found that I actually have a harder time making color palettes in Aseprite than MS Paint (I used to use the marker tool to mix colors)#(and haven't yet found out an equivalent tool to mix colors together)#Anyway the only feature that I use regularly in Aseprite that MS Paint doesn't ''have'' is easy transformation controls #(Paint has transformation options in the skew/scale menu but not every computer supports the trick I used to use to rotate stuff)#Also you can animate in Aseprite. There's layers but I don't use them.#beebfreeb art tag #funny talking tag #This was probably a little more talking than you expected but I am very particular about these sorts of things.#Anyway I am so mad about how my favorite version of MS Paint has absolutely no Wine support and that everything that I've looked up said:#''Just use a different program'' With different features? (I still don't know if I am a pixel artist or not.)

#text #polls #im rly curious abt this #i havent painted in foreverrr :{ i took an oil painting class that i loved but working with paint that never dries was difficult #but also helpful to be able to wipe it off even like a week after i fucked up lol #i liked it tho !! i wish id gotten to spend more time on my final bc it was so fun but i wasnt quite done #literally went in with a paint pen like last month to touch up some stuff #might go try and finish it fully but idkkkk. i dont have oil paints so id have to do it in acrylic and idk how easy itd be #ANYWAy #ive never worked with ink before and i only have worked with oil paint in that class #but the other three ive used a lot and when it comes to on Paper and not canvas #acrylic dries fast which is difficult for me #and watercolor dries slow bc. thats water. and it doesnt always go where i want it to #so usually i prefer gouache bc its a little thicker but not too thick and it dries quick but not too quick. a happy medium #just like goldilocks #on canvas tho i usually prefer acrylic #i think bc i get scared to use up my gouache paints on a bigger canvas #^saying all this and i havent painted in months. </3 #im not even particularly good at it i just like it. makes me happy #waugh. its nice out today maybe i'll go out and paint :} it miught rain tho #so who knows

ahhh hello hello !! sorry i'm late to answer this but ! i made her on 3D paint (paint 3D?) - that free 3D software attached to mspaint :]

its VERY limited but i just make dish out of like . a cone & a circle & some simple custom shapes . and to make her spin i actually saved individual pngs & put them back together again in a free gifmaker program (i use ezgif dot com) (so like . rotate dish a little bit -> save a png -> rotate her a little bit more -> save png etc until i had a full animation) theres a spin option in 3d paint but 1. it has a slowdown/speedup effect i didn't want & 2. i wanted her to be slightly choppy for like . the Effect so i purposefully did 12 frames :]

oops that was a lot of rambling BUT ! thats how ^ u can probably make something just like this better-ly & easier-ly with blender or another 3d program but . i don't have blender & i dont know how to 3d model ^_^; it gives her a charm tho i think .....

#emails #the frames have so much empty space bc 3d paint canvas sizing is WEIRD so i just didn't touch it . i cropped her later in the gif site iirc #helpful that dish has a circular head & a cone body . easy on me

Got some oil painting medium and new brushes for my birthday so maybe y’all will see some paintings here. It’s been over a year since I last painted but it’s kind of killing my soul not making art anymore and I’m scared of forgetting all my old techniques.

#need to find something to paint on because I don’t have any canvas material left #used to steal all my supplies from my sixth form art department #I think I still have some tubes of paint I was defo meant to hand in #I have no idea what I’m gonna paint tbh #I think I need to get a bit better at drawing before I attempt any big pieces #I’m probs just gonna paint easy stuff like plants until I improve enough for a big piece #which sucks cuz I used to exclusively do a3 upwards

man i just remembered there was something i REALLY wanted to draw a few days ago... but the question is can i do it. will i just leave it as a colored sketch or can i actually try to line it

edit: i changed my mind i am way too tired, this idea will remain in limbo until i feel up to it 👍

#little pigy was very easy bc the canvas was so small #the sketch WAS the lineart #aaaaaaaugh idk if i can do that... i dont know if i have it in me #i dont wanna spend more than today on it so that's my time limit #and i am *very tired*#so i've probably got like. 5 hours max to do it #do you think i can line a piece in that amount of time im voting no. so it might just be a sketch #you might think 5 hours is a lot. and i know plenty of people who can crank out entire paintings in that time #but you underestimate how long it takes me to draw. i've spent WEEKS on some of the stuff i've posted #and i dont even shade. or do much of anything complicated tbh 😭#chat
