Off-theme, kind of ... Nova Scotia-based Peace By Chocolate is helping with earthquake relief in Syria and Turkey by setting up an “earthquake relief collection,” from which it is donating 100% of proceeds to the Canadian Red Cross to benefit its earthquake relief fund in those countries.
I have ordered from Peace By Chocolate on more than one occasion. It’s good stuff. (I’m going to assume Sid also likes it, considering he’s put it in his Christmas charity gift basket on occasion.) The family that owns the company are Syrian refugees who seem to truly appreciate the life they have built in Nova Scotia and do what they can to give back to the community. Many of their products raise money for various causes, from LGBTQ groups to refugee groups to national parks.
If you’re looking for a way to help with earthquake relief in Syria and Turkey, here’s one option. They also have an option at checkout to add a donation amount above and beyond the price of your bills, making it even easier to donate more.

Hello everyone. The death toll from the Turkey-Syria earth quake has surpassed 50,000. The situation is only going to worsen as the numbers are speculated to increase. The poverty and trauma that's going to follow will continue to ravage both the nations. Please consider donating or sharing the links around. There has been great help offered by many countries but it's just not enough. Please keep Turkey and Syria in your thoughts.
I'm going to drop some reliable links for y'all to donate if possible, or share; remember, as much as €5 can itself make a huge difference

Also here's a list of on-the-ground organizations made by Oxford academicals (both for Turkey and Northwest Syria):
It's later than I would prefer to post this but not yet too late.

The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.
If you could donate PLEASE do!!!
Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:
Islamic Relief:  teams are on the ground right now providing emergency food assistance, shelter, medical supplies to hospitals and clinics, as well as blankets and tents for those made homeless by the quake in Turkey and Syria
Molham: The team at Molham are currently on the ground helping displaced families in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the earthquake
The White Helmets: The team are on the ground in Northwest Syria searching for survivors and removing the dead from the rubble.
MSF: remaining in close contact with the local authorities in northwestern Syria and with the authorities in Turkey to extend their support where it’s needed. They’re providing essential life kits to displaced people in the region
please PLEASE reblog. Syria and Turkiye need our help!!!

on the kahramanmaras earthquakes
the recent earthquakes, the biggest in the area in a literal century, is obviously not getting as much coverage as the russo-ukrainian war was/is, seeing as most people i personally know (including myself) didn't know what happened until we heard it from somewhere other than a news source (i personally found out from my science teacher yesterday). according to al arabiya, the death toll has reached 45,000, and that's with several still missing. from what i've seen, most of the main headlines are about a ghananian footballer named christian atsu, who was found crushed (?) by his apartment building.
here are a few places to donate, if you can:
turkey-syria earthquake - send relief
turkey and syria earthquake relief fund
you can also donate to the red cross and save the children
