Know Everything About Pregnancy Symptoms for a To-Be-Mother
Pregnancy is a beautiful experience, one that all expectant mothers look forward to with excitement in their hearts… one where you know your life is about to change forever. However, pregnancy can also be a pretty difficult time for most women. To a lot of women, knowing the initial pregnancy symptoms is both a thrilling and an overwhelming experience. Knowledge is power, and having knowledge about what the symptoms of pregnancy are empowers expectant mothers to navigate through this transformative period with a high level of confidence. In today, we will be looking into the Symptoms of Common Pregnancy along with its Major causes and How to control them optimally.
The Early Signs of Pregnancy
1. Missed Period
The first and foremost symptom of pregnancy is often a skipped period. If your cycle is normally regular and it suddenly just stops, you will know in the back of your head to take a pregnancy test asap. Granted, there are multiple reasons why your period can go missing but this is usually the first alarm that your body gives you something maybe changing.
2. Nausea and Vomiting
They usually call it "morning sickness," but nausea can hit any time of the day. This symptom usually starts about week six of pregnancy and can last until the end of the first trimester, but some women may have it longer. Rising pregnancy hormones especially human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) seems to play a part in the following:
3. Breast Changes
Hormones can cause a lot of change in your breasts. You may feel them tender, swollen, or lumpy. The areolas may also darken and Montgomery glands appear. These are all part of preparing for breastfeeding.
Tip: Buy an excellent supportive bra if you haven't done so already. It will ease the discomfort, provide added support as your body changes, and make your life easier.
4. Fatigue
Increased levels of fatigue are an early pregnancy symptom most notably due to rising levels of progesterone, in addition to energy demands your body needs to supply the developing fetus. Most women will report a generally increased level of fatigue, especially through the first trimester.
Tip: Get plenty of rest and let your body be your guide. Short naps and a healthy diet can go a long way to increase your energy.
5. Frequent Urination
You can also experience frequent trips to the bathroom as early as in the first two weeks of pregnancy. These are caused by hormonal changes and more blood flow to the kidneys. As the uterus expands in your body, it puts further pressure on your bladder, and you feel the constant need to visit the restroom.
Tip: While it is crucial to drink enough fluids, reduce fluid intake at night so that you don't wake up to visit the restroom in the middle of the night, which reduces the risk of an uncomfortable awakening in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Waking Up to Go to the Bathroom
Mood Swings
Women often experience hormone surges that are not fun. Mood swings are common. Sometimes during pregnancy women are on cloud nine, other times they're anxious, and sometimes just plain irritable. Knowing these moods are normal will help you bear with the roller coaster of emotions in pregnancy.
Tip: Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation. Talking with your partner or a trusted friend also may help during those emotional times.
7. Food Cravings and Aversions
Hormonal changes and heightened senses of taste and smell may both add to unexpected changes in your appetite while pregnant. You might develop cravings for certain foods, whereas others will experience a distaste for foods that they previously enjoyed.
Cravings Tip: Lest you keep treating that craving as an excuse to feast on ice cream or whatever takes your fancy, seek out a balanced diet so you know you and baby are getting the nutrients needed.
8. Heartburn and Indigestion
You might notice heartburn or indigestion as your pregnancy progresses, mainly due to the hormonal changes. These may frequently occur during the last trimester as the baby now grows to crowd out some space of your stomach.
Tip: Take small, frequent meals. Avert foods that you know cause heartburn- spicy and fatty. Sleep with an elevated head to alleviate nighttime discomfort.
9. Constipation
Pregnancy hormones can cause your digestive system to be slower-moving, leading to constipation. This is sometimes uncomfortable, but is usually easily managed.
Remember: Get plenty of fiber through fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Hydration and being as active as possible, within the guidelines of your healthcare provider, can also be helpful.
10. Back Pain
Many women experience pain in the back as your body gets used to carrying the growing baby. It comes with a change in posture, hormonal changes, and weight gain.
Helpful Tip: Good Posture, gentle exercises, prenatal yoga, or stretching may help out some back pain issues.
Conclusion
Pregnancy symptoms: recognizing and understanding them is half the journey towards motherhood. Every pregnancy is different, but knowing what normal symptoms are helps with reassurance and preparation in case of changes ahead. A good reminder: always check with your healthcare provider regarding any concerns or unusual symptoms you may be experiencing.
It will be a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and nurture your body before the process of this transformation. Therefore, pregnancy may be undertaken with more confidence and happiness by preparing for the different symptoms arising within, since every one of them is a sign of a miracle happening inside you, creating a new life ready to enter the world.

I finally got my period today 6 whole days late which is the latest I’ve ever been besides well you know. Once.
#I took 2 very clearly negative pregnancy tests in this time so I wasn’t really worried about that but the wait was still brutal#I’m very regular and the last two months have just been completely whack#when my thyroid was messed up I got one like 4 days late which was a symptom before it got diagnosed#I might need to check in there again#but like also last month was superrrr stressful and I got 2 way too close together#so I think my ETA was way too early on this one because it was based on the last cycle length yknow#so maybe being super later this month was actually just pushing it back in a normal range?#probably gonna give it another month to see if it just stays consistent again

#on the train home from my boyfriend's place in the late afternoon sunlight. all the fields of wheat look golden.#i had a dream last night where i was carrying an infant son on my hip and he had a crown of dark curly hair#i woke up with a strange feeling in my stomach and an insatiable craving for a food i rarely eat#though i'm sure that the symptoms of early pregnancy and the after effects of drinking very heavily for 4 days are very similar#the sun makes me miss my beloved.#i've only just waved goodbye to him and pressed my hand against the glass of the train window to meet his on the other side.#he makes me feel so loved. i feel proud to wear his ring and that he wears mine. i have a lock of his hair & a love letter in my gold locket#the train just passed by a field full of birds of prey. grouse maybe. it went by too fast to tell but you know their shape#i feel like crying for want of him. like a woman in a greek tragedy who beats at her chest and tears her hair#love is full of so many big emotions. they don't tell you that in films. this unutterable longing that swells like the sea.#but I'll spend our time apart knowing that he's there in the world. loving me.#and that I'll be here radiating love like a furnace. enough that he can feel it across the miles.#sunlight on canal. breeze through the open window. love will find you anywhere.#Spotify

its like so fucked to me that PCOS is almost always diagnosed in middle aged women bc of fertility issues unless the person in question has a very obvious and severe case or lobbies their doctor at length about it. this would not be so upsetting to me if PCOS didn't massively increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes in a way that is largely preventable! or if PCOS didn't make it damn near impossible to lose weight, meaning many people have their symptoms dismissed be it for other health problems or PCOS symptoms themselves over something they have next to no control over.
#like its not just infertility insulin resistance fucking sucks#and it can definitely make periods hellishly painful in addition to being irregular#in severe cases (including mine) you can also develop menopausal symptoms or those of early pregnancy#like morning sickness hot flashes constant hunger#dont even get me started on PCOS in trans patients#ive found one. ONE case study on a trans man's PCOS treatment#and instead of answering any of the questions i had the seminar talked abt whether he was put on T too early the entire time#literally did not address the PCOS part a single time#studies are also almost always done on middle aged women bc they're the ones with a diagnosis#meaning if you're a teenager like me the results may not apply to you the same#that's if a study exists at all most of the drugs used for PCOS are for diabetics or menopausal women#and maybe one study of like 40 people exists on how it works for PCOS patients#usually geared towards ensuring regular periods and not what i care about (improved blood panels)#god its just. it fucking sucks having what is treated as like Ugly Fat Woman Disease with the way the medical field is!!#ESPECIALLY as a trans man

Cryptic pregnancy with complications. Send tweet.
#writing this down for my If/then AU#i dont usually get to use cryptic pregnancies bc they're all lesbians#but just think about it#it's before theyre married. before theyve talked about having kids#i like to think theyre pretty young. I want to dat early 20s#not feasible if theu have a realistic school timeline but they don't have that in canon so idk why id do that now#theyre like 24#Remus is home from deployment. they live together but its pretty new#especially when remus is gone so much with work#one day shes at home and Matthew is at work and she can feel that sonething is wrong#she has no idea what it is but something is very very very wrong and shes concerned. she probably calls Matthew#she ends up giving birth (shocking since she was still perfectky skinny had no symptoms and didny jnow she was pregnant)#(obviously y'knoe a cryptic pregnancy)#it's probably on the toilet because thats incredibly common#he gets home immediately after the birth and finds her holding this bloody newborn with the cord still snaking into her#and remus just says that something still feels wrong and slumps against him barely conscious due to blood loss#she hemorrhages bad#but Matthew manages to save her <3#and now they have TWO daughters (Remus's daughter Tessa and then this one together)#idk drama. pregnancy complications. love.#james is rambling again#ocs#rambling#thoughts#writer#writing#original character

me at my womb: DO something
#I am now an expert in how each distinct phase of an IUI cycle feels#we are now in the last four days of the cycle where literally every single thing your body does has you googling#‘is X early pregnancy symptom?????’#and the internet informs you#that being pregnant and being about to get your period have identical symptoms so no#IUI tag#luckily we are fast approaching the next fun phase#where you convince yourself maybe you ARE and then you test and you’re not and then you despair spiral and lose 3-4 days#then you get a reprieve of ok it’s happening again we’re moving towards a goal!#then you hit the phase where you become convinced you’ll ovulate early and miss the window and have to skip the cycle#then you get the brief period of total relief post-IUI bc it’s done it’s out of your hands#then you get the multi-stage agonizing wait again!
