Something i want a genuine answer to if anyone can give one. A pretty long rant is ahead so read more at your own discretion.
Why are people so outwardly, vehemently against good faith and mspec labels?
I see it everywhere. I see people casually spewing hateful things towards multigender, mspec, and intersex people without even thinking about it. I see so much intersexism hidden under the guise of “anti mspec” or “anti good faith”. I see so much infighting over terms that i’m willing to bet 90% of the people who are against them don’t actually know what they mean.
Lesboys are not just male lesbians. Turigirls are not just female gays. Gaybians are not just bisexual. There is so much more grey area to these terms, as there is with MOST queer labels.
If you’re against transmasc/transmale, masc, butch, multigender, or even intersex lesbians, then please ask yourself why. Is it because you believe they’re lying about their queerness? do you think they’re just “confused” and should be using another label? do you think lesbians are only women who love women? Because all of those beliefs are inherently wrong and harmful.
Most of these ideas come from bigots themselves, usually radfems and transmeds and terfs of all kinds. These ideas were purposefully created to seem logical, when actually they’re just ways of excluding certain people from the queer community.
I do not care if you think men can’t be lesbians. Because actually anyone can identify as whatever feels good to them. Policing and attacking people purely for their identities is bigot shit. That’s what terfs, transmeds, transphobes, homophobes, and every other group that aims to silence queer voices wants to do too! and they don’t just want to police lesboys and turigirls and all those “confusing” labels, they want to police yours too! they want to force you to become as palatable to them as possible, preferably convincing you to just become cishet and forget you were ever queer to begin with.
Why are you, as a queer person, attacking and belittling identities you don’t understand simply because you dont feel like stepping outside your comfortable bubble? Are you, perhaps, agreeing with the bigots? Do you side with them in any other instances? Ask yourself that. And seriously think about it.
